Primary reason

People like Aul are what is keeping this Club a constant plethora of activity. I've always wondered how mad scientists find the time to be active in the club, and Aul made sure to give me a proper answer.

Since his last recognition Aul has continuously had a firm presence within Clan Naga Sadow. He made sure to participate in all types of activities provided by the club, be it gaming, fiction, graphics or any other type of competition created. Aul has participated in thirty two competitions, placing in twelve of them. For his participation he has been awarded two Crescents with Ruby Star, three Crescents with Amethyst Star, three Crescents with Sapphire Star and four Crescents with Emerald Star.

In addition to participation, Aul has given back to the club, serving two months as Battleteam Leader of Devil's Shroud, prior to moving up to the position of Aedile of House Shar Dakhan, a position he held for another two months. During his service he organized a total of ten competitions, with S.P.E.C.I.A.L. notice of the clan-wide competition that had a total of sixteen participants from the clan (My personal favorite event since joining the Club).

Did I mention Aul is an all rounder? For his seven PvP gaming activities and four PvE/PvO gaming activities he was awarded with a total of two Pendants of Blood, twenty two Clusters of Fire and three Clusters of Earth. As far as writing activity is concerned, Aul had two Fiction Activities, writing a total of nine hundred thirty words of fiction. "Oh I know, he doesn't draw!" WRONG! Aul participated in graphics competitions as well, netting himself three Clusters of Graphite.

Most of all, what really amazes me about Aul is his constant presence in Clan chat on Telegram. He had good input on most Clan discussions that appeared in the chat, he is always there to communicate, help out, or just be a friendly face in the crowd.

Thank you for being an invaluable member of our House, and Clan altogether. Congratulations on your Steel Cross!

Additional reasons

Aul has been my DJB buddy ever since he became my Apprentice. To this day I feel extremely lucky that I was able to mentor this brilliant individual to where he is today. I only played a small part in his rise through the ranks, only encouraging him to make those steps. Aul trusted in my judgement and I recon he has reaped the benefits of his hard work and will to put others before him.

In light of recent events, RL got in the way sadly and I was saddened by his departure as my AED. I had the great pleasure of working with him on S.P.E.C.I.A.L and honestly, it was the easiest and funnest comp to work on by far.

Not only has Aul worked hard, he has also mentored me in turn, making our Master/Apprentice bond a complete circle where we not only learn from each other, but also become a better member. Although our working relationship has been brief, the bond we share outside of the DJB is one I am eternally grateful for.

Aul is hands down one of the best all-round members CNS has. Smart, competitive (Feud FTW!), kind, decisive and patient. The marks of a true leader in my eyes. I can keep going but I don't think I'm any good with words to actually be able to describe the gratitude I actually feel for you. Thank you for your hard work and I hope to see you back in the Clan and kicking butt in due time.

Quaestor of Shar Dakhan

I'm honored to be writing this recommendation for Aul Celsus. He has been a great leader within CNS, until which time he was forced to step down recently due to real life (and, I noticed, despite that he continued to carry out his duties until they could be handed off to the next guy.) He's also a really active member in general. Aul has participated in thirty-two competitions since his last recognition - his promotion in August. This includes - among many other things - five out of the six competitions in the event "Leadership for Kel Rasha", in which he helped carry his five person team to victory. He's also earned a number of clusters in fire, ice, earth, and graphite, so Aul is involved in a variety of areas, and I witness him being involved in competitions and major events whether in CNS or the club alike. This includes the aforemented House event, as well as club-wide events such as The Undertaking, in which he was one of a small number of members who participated in most of the competitions.

Aul has also done a great job as a leader. He began as Battleteam Leader of Devil's Shroud. As BTL, he ran a few competitions that led to the creation of a motto for the team, as well as a well-done map of the city of their home base. He also fleshed out the team's wiki page significantly, applying these elements to it and giving it a far more firm existence. His competitions for the team saw participation from a total of seven members, which at the time was nearly the entire team. It's not easy to get a Battleteam to be active. Typically, they seem to have a few strong members, and a lot of others who aren't that active. I saw that Aul was able to quickly engage with his members and get them involved, and from there I had a feeling Aul would continue to be a great leader. One example of this was that he came up with unique 'challenges' for his Battleteam, so they would have a different goal to try to reach with each of his reports. I noticed that this increased camaraderie and teamwork in the team, and that has contributed to it continuing to stay strong to this day.

After two months as BTL, Aul moved up to Aedile. He continued to be a great leader in this role. As Aedile, he helped run Project S.P.E.C.I.A.L. I found this to be a pretty unique event, based on the idea of testing members' SPECIAL stats (yes, like that one game...). He and Darkblade came up with competitions to reflect each 'stat', and collaborated on a solid bit of fiction for the event. Aul demonstrated initiative and vision when he suggested increasing the scope of the competition from just House Shar Dakhan to all of Naga Sadow. In the end, the event saw participation from sixteen unique members, and had a total of 75 entries. That's pretty incredible for a mid-sized event. It really says something when an event appears with a fresh, new premise, and gathers so much participation and interest. You never know if people are going to like your idea or if its going to flop. Fortunately, along with Darkblade, Aul made sure that their event was polished around the edges, so it had the absolute best chance of success it could, and it went off wonderfully. I had a hunch I would have no issue with leaving an entire Clan event up to them, and now I know for sure that I can trust Aul to work well on any event he decides to coordinate at any level in the club.

It's attributes like this that have made Aul a valuable member of the CNS leadership team in the short time he's had on Summit. While I haven't worked with Aul much directly, I have watched what he has done and seen it's impact. I have personally had a greater desire to participate because of his ideas, such as the event mentioned above. As such, I'm proud to be writing this recommendation for him.

Congratulations on this award, Aul, you've definitely earned it!
