Primary reason

In all the years I’ve known and worked with Xantros the biggest standout attribute he has, is his inhuman ability to do so many things without burning out. Day in and day out he pushes himself, and those around him to be better. It is his unyielding drive to participate, develop, and better this club is the greatest factor a member could have, and for that he deserves to once again be recognized for his efforts.

Since his last promotion Xantros has been responsible for generating 17 different competitions, many on a DJB wide scale. He has gone on to participate in 149 different competitions. He has passed 9 different SA exams, and earned both the Savant and Sage for Tactics degrees. He has 69 different fiction activities account for 56,080 words. This number doesn’t even include reports, emails, and documentation Xantros has worked on in multiple functions of the club. Xantros has earned 2 Grand Crosses, 1 Steel Cross, 1 Anteian Cross, 6 Ruby Stars, 12 Amethyst Stars, 11 Sapphire Stars, 6 Emerald Stars, 2 Topaz Stars, 1 Quartz Star, 1 Cluster of Fire, 144 Clusters of Ice, 15 Clusters of Earth, 13 Scrolls of Foundation, 1 Legion of the Scholar, and a Seal of Loyalty.

Beyond this activity, Xantros served nearly 14 months as a Shadow Academy Professor, grading some 67 different exams. Xantros has also served an additional 8 months as the Rollmaster in Clan Odan Urr. Since his return to Scholae Palatinae in March, he has submitted multiple documents to the summit, including his own personal outline of development, articles to help better the skills of the members, and an alternate system of recording and reporting the history of the clan so new members would learn it easier.

Now, nearly 17 months since his elevation to Equite 3, I am honored to recommend his advancement to Equite 4. Xantros you remain one hell of a member, leader, and friend. Congratulations! Drinks are on you!

Additional reasons

Xantros has been a great delight to have with us here in Clan Scholae Palatinae! Since getting to know him, I have discovered not only a great friend but a great leader. Since January 1st of this year alone, Xantros has completed 87 competitions, has completed 4 ACC battles, and has written 33240 words of fiction**; *not including any editing/proofreading he has offered for other members or worksheets he has created. * He has shared two workbooks with the leadership of CSP to provide techniques and pointers to members (consisting of at least 10 pages each!). Way to go Xantros. I am so proud and inspired by your tenacity and your dedication to the Brotherhood. Here's to the future!

Advancement in the Equite ranks requires several vital elements: the ability to lead, the ability to produce content, and the ability to consume content. And, honestly, I have not seen someone move as fluidly between all three of these traits as Xantros. For his considerable dedication, effort, and leadership, I am honored to include my name amongst those that recommend him to the pinnacle of Equite IV.

Assuredly, others will elaborate on his leadership qualities and the tasking required to hold those positions. Others will rave about his activity and how he generates competitions for others to participate... only to have that out shown by his own illustrious participation record. Yet, it is his attitude, for me that is the cornerstone to his elevation to the next rank. Rarely, have I met a member that naturally understands that their activity is the lifeblood of our club (and that it doesn't take a whole lot of effort to be a great member). My first conversation with Xantros was him - humbly - stating that he just does his best to make time for one or two events a week. And when he falls behind, he tries to make it up the next week, because he understands that his fellow members are counting on him to submit to their competitions.

He does not brag about his activity, but uses it as a means to encourage others to do better, try new things, meet their own potential. He is always upbeat, providing insight that is constructive or presents steps to lessen a member's burden (so they can have more fun, be more active). This unmeasurable ability to connect with others, get the best out of them, and not be a focus for drama is essential for advancement to the final rank of the Equites. And it will be a pivotal, necessary quality if he ever embarks on the quest of attaining Elder.

Thank you for your peer leadership to our younger members. Thank you for continuing to participate and drive the process for others. Thank you... for a million other things I cannot highlight in a single recommendation. I am honored to see you elevated and eagerly anticipate what you will do next.

Xantros is a model leader who without question enriched COU by his presence both as a regular member and our Rollmaster. As we recorded in his Steel Cross and Grand Cross, Xantros helped revamp our master-student program, found the Zireal battleteam, wrote an 18 page writing guide for our members and a 41 page leadership training program. He has most certainly left his mark on COU. Xantros also was and continues to be a central presence in our community, even though he has returned to his home clan of CSP he still continues to be active in the COU channel and reach back to update the documents he left us and give advice to his successor RMs. His individual activity also puts him in the upper echelons of our member base, I don’t think I’ve seen a fiction competition ran by the clan that he did not participate in.

I can think of few others who deserve an elevation to the pinnacle Equite rank more. Congrats my friend and thank you for all that you do! You make every clan you are in and the Brotherhood itself a better place.

Xantros is a whirlwind of activity and is always happy to participate in any of the activities the club has to offer, as demonstrated by his incredible competition record of 151 competitions entered since his last promotion (the numbers on this may be inconsistent across recommendations because he keeps doing more stuff as we collate recommendations). He is always active, always happy to come up with new ideas to help the clan, and constantly active on the telegram channels, where he is an integral part of the community of both CSP and COU. Xantros' numbers on the promotion assessment are ridiculously high across the board, especially combined with his work as Shadow Academy Professor and as Rollmaster.

Congratulations Xantros!

While others have briefly mentioned it, as Headmaster I wanted to lend my voice to those requesting Xantros' promotion due to his work in the service of the Shadow Academy. Since his last promotion, Xantros served as a Professor for over a year and graded 67 courses with an average grading time of fifteen hours. That's of course below are maximum grading time of twenty-four hours, but it's deceptively long; you see, many of the exams Xantros marked were the fairly involved Leadership courses.

The reason he was one of the primary graders on those courses is another reason he is deserving of recognition - many of the Leadership courses we currently have on offer came from him. He combined his real world knowledge with his experience in the DJB to create courses aimed at assisting neophyte leaders with how to run their units. Never one to rest on his laurels, Xantros has worked to keep these courses updated and offer suggestions for new ones. This is truly the mark of someone dedicated to making this club a better place, something that is the true hallmark of an EQ4.
