In some ways, it can be hard to quantify Saitou’s contributions to the Clan. He acts as a veteran adviser when I need someone who has been around as long as I have. And yet, he also acts as a fresh pair of eyes because he is more recently back from sabbatical, and sees the Brotherhood through experience tempered by the youthful enthusiasm that all new members are hopefully bringing. Saitou is -- quite literally -- priceless in his usefulness.

Since Saitou’s last merit award, he has gained 205 Clusters of Fire, 3 Legions of the Scholar and 2 Topaz Crescents, as well as well as participating in six GJW events, and spending daily time trying to mentor our new members, and even motivate our veterans, as well. Additionally, Saitou has been working with me to update the Tarentae Manifesto, the document that our Clan fraternity acts under, in order to assist the Consul and Clan in general. We have been updating the guidelines to ensure that Clan naming happens in a timely and efficient manner, and that worthy individuals are brought into this honor.

Though this Cross is perhaps a mere token, it is one of genuine appreciation and esteem from both myself as Consul and friend, and from the entire Clan in respect of all of the conversation, friendship, and motivation you have provided to us. Thank you, truly, for all that you continue to do.
