Malik has been a member of this club for only a quarter of a century, which isn't very long for a tree. But during that time, he has been one of our most consistently active members, and a constant presence in CNS. Since his promotion to Elder 1 nine years ago, he has participated in nearly 600 competitions, served a full term as a temporary member of the Star Chamber, and as a BTL in CNS, and earned hundreds of crescents and clusters.

Progressing through the Elder ranks is difficult and time consuming. Malik has done the work and put in the time, and I am honored to promote him to Elder 2.

It's become a running joke that the reason Malik and I get along so well is because he's unafraid to call things into question, regardless of who he is talking to. It's only partially a joke. All too often, people, myself included, get caught up in the way things have always been done and miss what things could be. That sort of persepctive is useful in that regard, to be able to shift views and look at things through the eyes of the beginner, the outsider, and the disenfranchised. It helps us all make better decisions as we are forced to see the unintended consequences of things that we are doing.

Add to that the fact that Malik has been consistently active for literal decades. He was Consul of CNS when I joined more than twenty years ago, and he remains a steady voice, advising those who need it.

The man is an ideal example of what long term dedication and activity looks like, and I'm having a hard time imagining what the Clan, and even the Brotherhood would look like if he hadn't stuck around. I'm beyond pleased to be able to reccommend him for promotion to the second Elder rank, as he's truly earned it. Thank you, Malik.

It has been said that Malik has been around the Club for a wee-bit. A very, very true statement. It could also be said that during that time this man, we have known to be referred to by many titles. However, today he will be known by another.

Malik has been putting it to the grindstone since his last promotion and I don't think he ever took a pause. He has been as steadfast in his journey as one could get. During that time he has added many of accolades to his trophy case. More importantly, he has never stopped giving back. From his time as Consul to Star Chamber member and back to Clan Summit.

A rock solid showcasing of skills during comps to using his knowledge and experience to mentor Sadowans across all ranks. A bona fide example of an Elder. Malik is one of the foundational pillars within CNS, I cannot see one without the other.

It is truly an honor to be a part of a Son of Sadow ascending to the rank of Elder II. Congratulations Malik Sadow on this great accomplishment!
