It is a rare privilege to witness the evolution of an apprentice. From their first tentative steps to experiencing the height of their power. I have known Shadow since her earliest days in the DB, watching as she navigated every challenge with grit and unwavering commitment. To see that raw potential transform into the seasoned member she is today has been one of the highlights of my own journey. Now I have the distinct honor of recommending Shadow for the rank of Elder.

It has been seven years since Shadow ascended to EQ4. In that time, she’s been a whirlwind of activity. Almost 500 competitions entered and another 100 organized all together. She’s written more than 150,000 words of fiction. That's expected. Her passion has always been writing. Her artistry is with words. Her stabby arsenal is equally intimidating thanks to her efforts. 3 Amethyst Kukris and a Sapphire Blade, bolstered by a vault overflowing with hundreds of clusters, crescents, and scrolls. She is as lethal with a pen as she is with her growing collection of steel. Additionally, 23 society levels, 23 Shadow Academy exams and 8 degrees, she has sharpened her mind into as fine a blade as the ones she carries.

Shadow’s leadership is equally undeniable. She has served the Clan repeatedly, including two years as Consul that left an indelible mark on our history. She guided CSP with a steady hand and a visionary spirit.

There is an old saying that a student should strive to step out from their Master’s shadow. In this case, the pun is intended and the reality is absolute: Shadow has built a legacy that is entirely her own. She has transitioned from a promising apprentice into a pillar of this community.

It’s my absolute pleasure to recommend Shadow for Elder 1. She’s more than ready for this. Congrats, Shadow. You’ve definitely earned it.

It has been over seven years since Shadow was promoted to EQ4. Over that period of time she has done so much. 483 competitions entered (not including containers), over 100 competitions organized or co-organized, over 150,000 words of fiction between the multiple areas one can write. She has earned 3 Amethyst Kukris, a Sapphire Blade, a Steel Cross, an Anteian Cross, over 200 total crescents, hundreds of various clusters, and several seals. She has earned CSP over 2.5 million credits. In addition, she has been a member of Clan leadership again and again, including a two year reign as Consul. She has leveled up in the societies 23 times and she has passed 23 SA exams, earning 8 degrees. She has been an absolute pillar of activity.

In addition to this she is always a warm, funny, encouraging person in our Clan chat on Discord. She is very quick to tell people that things are going to be okay, even in the face of uncertainty. She encouraged me a lot when I was dealing with the cancer diagnosis and treatment of my parents. She really is just a great person and a good friend. CSP is lucky to have her.

It is my honor to recommend her for promotion to the rank of Elder 1. She has more than earned it. Congratulations, Shadow! Thank you for everything you do.
