Primary reason

Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson once said, "Always mystify, mislead and surprise the enemy". This quote fits Jagen perfectly. In all things he has constantly blown his leaders away with his utmost vigor and vim for every project. He works constantly to improve his clan and it's members.

I personally met Jagen when he became Aedile of House Tridens. We met on IRC and began to talk, Aedile to Aedile. When I asked him what he wanted to do as Aedile, the answer blew me away. He said, "I want to do it all." His youthful vigor and strong endurance has made him a steadfast and well-liked member of Tarentum, and my friend.

If anyone deserves this promotion, I have to say that it would be Jagen. He has earned it to the utmost degree. Congratulations Jagen, my friend, I'm very proud of you.

~Severon Vercingetorix Commander of Black Phoenix

I first met Jagen when we were both made BTLs in the upcoming House Kaerner. Despite being a gaming BT, Jagen's fiction submissions for Battle Team Spectre are very good. He is not afraid to ask for assistance when he needs it, and offers his help to others freely. While I am not familiar with Jagen's history, what I have seen of him since the first discussions about the new House Kaerner impresses me. Jagen is a man who is committed to his clan, his house, his team, and the individuals he guides as BTL. I recommend him for promotion to EQ1 without any reservations.

~Teia Coran Commander of Those To Be Reckoned With

Jagen, beside being a good friend is also a good man to all of us. He's one of the members who puts aside all his RL problems and comes on IRC or mailing lists with a great attitude. He has also been a great Aedile to me. On time with the reports and responding to emails, hosting competitions and helping me write the final closing fiction for Tridens. He's also very eager to work in the gaming department and will be hosting a gaming tourney and participate in gaming with his BT.

I see a very hard working man and thus a deserving one. ~OE Frosty Romanae Tarentae

Like most of the people I now call compatriots, I met Jagen while he was in a different House than mine. I recognized him from my trips to IRC, where he seemed to be all the time, talking, having fun, and when we actually got serious there, contributing with enthusiasm. The energy he brings to the Brotherhood is palpable, and contagious.

Now I work with him very closely, and his contributions to the burgeoning House Kaerner has been invaluable. From day one he has attacked his new job with a fervor that is unmatched. He has accomplished much in that short time, and I can only imagine he was as active before Kaerner as he is now. I know all about the Tridens Journeymen and his time as AED, and what he had done there. How much am I unaware of?

And let's not forget that he actually went down one leadership rank during this, from AED to BTL.. Not only has he not mentioned it or taken offense, he has flourished in his new role. That says everything you need to know about his character. He his a man of the people, encouraging and sacrificing his time and energy for the good of the House, the Clan, the Brotherhood. We need more like him.

So, it's about time he join the ranks of the Equites. He has the skills and the desire that we all look for in successful members of our group. I look forward to all the things we will accomplish together, Jagen, and am proud to call you my comrade and friend.

~Tyyravis Nami Dantes Aedile of House Kaerner

Jagen Phoenix and I have not had the pleasure of working together until recently upon the opening of House Kaerner, where he leads one of our two Battle Teams. My first impression of him was that he was still a bit rough around the edges in terms of professionalism and maturity, but he has proven that snap judgment incorrect. He has thrown himself full-fledged into the task of building a fictional foundation for Spectre, taking the daunting challenge of building something from nothing and making it his own. Jagen has taken every task I have given him and excelled. I am therefore pleased to recommend him for elevation into the ranks of the Equites.

~Scion "Firebird" Altera Quaestor of House Kaerner

It is sometimes it is terribly foolish to rely on first impressions or pretenses when dealing with new members, especially when they have served as leaders. Jagen Phoenix is a shining example of a member who can break away from first impressions, defying doubting members who may not have foreseen his great work and potential. A former Aedile and a current BTL of Spectre in House Kaerner, Jagen has proven to his clan summit that he deserves to ascend to the Equite legions as a Krath Priest.

I first met Jagen just before I became Quaestor of House Cestus. He was a new member of House Tridens, initiated into the clan under the former name "Galen" only a week or so before the end of the ninth Great Jedi War. Now from the Consul's chair, I have been able to witness his many contributions fictionally and gaming-wise to the new house Kaerner, after his devotion to Tridens as its Aedile when the former house was going through hard times. Jagen took the job of gaming BTL because he was asked to, and while he feared that he could not be a good gamer, he has proven to us that he doesn't have to be. Sometimes to be a capable and successful leader, certain skills on a random game are not required. Instead, there is a need for dedication, patience, fortitude, and perseverance. And as gaming is certainly not a strong point of the growing Brotherhood, Jagen has impressed me by having confidence in the team.

One of the many concerns that DB leaders have is that when the older leaders depart, new leaders will not be available or able to take their places. Jagen, along with other newer Tarenti, has proven to us that there is hope. His fictional contributions to Kaerner and his gaming contributions to his battle team demonstrate his prowess, his eagerness to help and strengthen the clan, and his skills. Becoming an Equite is a new step in one's Brotherhood career and should not be taken lightly. Rather, it should be viewed as a challenge, a new trial to overcome in order to prove oneself further as a strong member of the Brotherhood. I have faith in Jagen that he will be a devoted Tarenti in his Equite career and beyond. Congratulations, Jagen, and thank you.
