Primary reason

Since his last promotion on 11/30/2010, the Mandalorian known as Roxas Buurenar has been a central participant in the Clan Naga Sadow Team. His enthusiasm and drive is commendable. Roxas earned himself a Steel Cross for assisting me with a massive cleanup of our Clan Wiki pages. Did he complain or not follow through with everything I asked of him? Not one bit. He just did it. And that I appreciate, truly, as does his Clan. Roxas served as BTL of the Regulators for over 5 months. At the time, it was an active Team until later managerial changes closed it. Even though the Regulators were disbanded for other reasons, he stepped away and continued to excel even when not a BTL leader. Roxas is one of those unusual people that leads even when not in an official leadership position. His list of medals since he became a Knight includes numerous Crescents, Several Novae, A Dark Cross, Legion of the Scholar, Seals... it’s a solid list that shows great activity. He has contacted people looking for work to do, and is quite enthusiastic about the Clan and being helpful in general. His participation in every Vendetta he has come across has been in the top echelon of Naga Sadow, as evidenced by his many Seals earned since Knighthood. Also, there is this. I have seen his character grow with Shikyo’s guidance and from others into a more “living” and unique idea. Roxas has grown since becoming a Knight, and we are proud of him. Welcome to the ranks of the Equites, Roxas.

-SWL Macron Goura Sadow, CNS Consul

Clan Naga Sadow's resident Mandalorian enthusiast, Roxas Buurenaar has now been a cornerstone of the community for nearly two years. Right from the moment he joined, Roxas very quickly established his niche in the Clan as first a member, and then the Sergeant, of the Regulators, whose members he led by his own example throughout much of 2011, up until the recent reorganisation of the Clan after the recent war.

Whether it be through working on the wiki, writing, joining in on run-ons, getting involved in competitions: repeatedly, Roxas has demonstrated his willingness to be the sort of member -- and leader -- that inspires others. Indeed, in the Grand Master's recent report, Muz himself emphasised the importance of leaders to be seen practising what they preach, taking part in competitions, and this is exactly what Roxas has done, and continues to do. Further to this, it is perhaps Roxas's own enthusiasm for the Dark Brotherhood's activities that has correspondingly bolstered his performance as a leader, both formally as a BTL and now as a champion on the backbenches. For example, his support of the Clan Summit in ways such as assisting in internal Clan vendettas, or by helping with revisions to the Clan wiki pages, such as updating the military pages so that they reflect the new acquisitions from the Great Jedi War, these things all demonstrate how any member can transform their own enjoyment of the club's activities into something that can benefit larger aspects of the club -- in this case, all of Clan Naga Sadow -- as a whole.

For these reasons, in addition to those many reasons which there is not the space to go into, I extend my congratulations to Roxas, as well as my thanks for the support that he continues to provide to this Clan.

Dark Prophet Xanos Zorrixor Sith Lord, Son of Sadow

When I first joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, and logged onto IRC, I met several people. One of them was a unique cat named Roxas, who turned out to be around my same rank. Since then, he and I have kind of came up together, racing for the next promotions, doing the same competitions, all in the name of Sadow.

The difference between us? I was a bit more fortunate than he was, when it came time to step onto a path of leadership, which kind of tossed me in front of the race. Still, it never, ever did stop him. When I became his Battleteam leader, I knew I could count on his presence to be the rock and roll I needed to keep the party going. When I became his Quaestor, that only changed for the better, going from Rock and Roll to Heavy Metal.

Then, I gave him his dream shot. He was made leader of the Regulators battleteam, being the second Mandalorian to run the crew. (Made me feel like the odd man out, but that’s just fine). Frankly, in the style of his people, he took it and ran. For his first stint as leader, really I couldn’t have asked for much better. He actually ran an internal vendetta event, and I’ll let that sink in a minute.

He ran an event which consisted of 9 separate competitions which ran over the course of several days, in a very fast, very furious trainer for the (at the time) upcoming Great Jedi War. He did this all by himself. I didn’t even have to judge a tiebreaker, and only recommended one medal (a surprise bonus for the participants) If that doesn’t speak to the mindset of the man, I really couldn’t tell you what would.

Roxas has also, in recent memory, shown a remarkable level of maturity, proving his time here has helped him grow as a person, and as a member of his clan and the Brotherhood as a whole. When we the summit discussed closing the battleteams, he was with the rest of us, and voted to put himself out of a job to help the clan as a whole.

That isn’t something a Journeyman should be expected to do, but an Equite. This is why I ask you today, consider this request to promote Roxas Buurenaar to the rank of Obelisk Templar. In my mind, he’s one already, I’d just like to see it made official.

-OT Mirado Pepoi L’eonheart, Quaestor Emeritus

Roxas Buurenaar is a man who just doesn't quit. He tries, tries, and tries, and he has done well in the Dark Brotherhood. As Battleteam Leader of the Regulators, he stepped up to the plate and ran the Battleteam well. In times when activity was scarce, he actively sought out ways to improve it. He kept his people informed, encouraged them, and led from the front lines. In my short time working with Roxas as Aedile and BTL, I was impressed by his dedication to the team.

While serving as Battleteam leader, Roxas was an active participant in Summit discussions. He has frequently been on IRC, and was a frequent participant in both IRC and email discussions. When it came to Summit matters, Roxas was involved and always put his opinion out there. Having that additional voice was a great help to the Summit's activity as a whole, and Roxas contributed some amazing ideas.

In addition, Roxas put together and ran an internal Vendetta event by himself. He came up with the plot, he ran the competitions, he judged the events, and he handled awards himself. He ran a total of nine competitions during this Vendetta. This event demonstrated Roxas's dedication to the Brotherhood and his ability to think creatively and apply his knowledge.

Recently, the Regulators had to be closed due to circumstances beyond Roxas's control. Rather than let this mark the end of his contributions, Roxas stepped up his game. He contacted the Summit and sought out other ways he could help out. This led to him working on several wiki articles for the Clan, which he did a fantastic job on. These were a great help in updating the Clan wiki, which badly needed it. Without Roxas's contributions, we would be much further behind then we are today.

It is for these reasons that I believe Roxas deserves an elevation to Equite One. He has been dedicated and worked hard. Roxas has demonstrated that he knows what it takes to be an Equite and should be one.
