Primary reason

Sid, for as long as I am part of the Brotherhood and Taldryan you have been there, serving as Quaestor of first House Ektrosis of Taldryan and later as Quaestor of Independent House Taldryan guiding me and inspiring me to grow over my own expectations, may this have been for my Dark Jedi Knight trials, my first steps as Tetrarch of the Phoenix Phyle or later as your Aedile and then as Quaestor of Taldryan, where you stood beside me as Aedile. And even now after you stepped down from the active Summit you continue being a Force to be reckoned with by hammering out high qualitative submissions for every chapter of the Dark Crusade while helping the Summit behind the curtain. Honestly in all the time we spend sweat, blood and laughter with each other, where we held each other up, you have always been the person I have been looking up at. Your dedication for Taldryan was, is and will probably ever remain incomparable.

As a small excerpt of his work during the last good 2 and a half years on the Taldryan Summit since his promotion to Obelisk Exarch, in which Taldryan faced one Great Jedi War, one Vendetta and one Independence Games, I would like to state that under the reign of Shaz’air Taldrya, Taldryan managed to place second in the tenth Great Jedi War behind her nemesis, Clan Arcona, taking the un-official vendetta between each other to another level, only to see the tides turned in the first round of the Dark Crusade, where Taldryan took Arcona completely off-guard and snagged the first place for her own.

For all your years in service as Quaestor and Aedile in Taldryan, Shaz’air please take this small token of appreciation by being promoted to the Rank of Obelisk Primarch, this is by far very well deserved and much overdue. Congratz Sid and thank you for all the past years and those yet to come!

Additional reasons

Shaz'air Taldrya otherwise known as Sid brings to mind perhaps one word above all others: steadfast. Here is a man who served as a summit member in Taldryan for just shy of 5 years. Without a break. If we include Rollmaster of Dinaari and Ektrosis in these figures, his time served on the summit exceeds 5 years. It's a time in Office than when you consider normal Brotherhood careers in leadership is a time of staggering proportions. In his time as a Summit member, Sid oversaw some of the greatest changes in Taldryan's history. He was the steady hand that guided us through the crushing defeat of our Clan status, and made sure that Taldryan survived to the point where it could once again rise triumphant from the ashes. Sid's steady hand allowed him to be on the ready to appoint Taldryan's current Quaestor Rian Aslar to the summit, and begin guiding his hand into the arts of leadership. Nothing in Taldryan today would be the way it is without Sid's influence, and for nearly all this time, Sid was largely overlooked for his service to Taldryan. He never complained, he never made waves, he just went about his business protecting Taldryan's legacy. Since taking over the reins of Taldryan after the declanning, Sid has earned one promotion in February of 2011. He's earned two Dark Crosses, and a Steel Cross. He earned a promotion and 3 minor merit medals during two years and 11 months of service as a member of the Independent House Taldryan's leadership. Now Sidarace has given up the mantle of leadership, and has somehow, against all odds, rededicated himself to Taldryan. Since his resignation Sid's activity levels have only increased. His participation in the most recent round of the Crusades was nearly flawless. He is helping guide our fledgling battle team and its young leader. Sid earned his time in the sun, sitting on a beach with a drink in his hand. Instead of that, he dove straight back into the trenches and continues to push for Taldryan to grow, and become better. Steadfast, loyal, courageous, selfless, and enduring: For all the reasons before, and many more than I can count, I recommend with all my being that Shaz'air Taldrya be elevated to the rank of Obelisk Primarch, in thanks for his many years of, and continuing service to Taldryan.

Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor, Dark Jedi Master & Aedile of Taldryan

Sid truly has been an amazing inspiration to Taldryan over the past 5 years. He first came to leadership at a point when my own activity in the Tally had sunk to being barely negligible. His enthusiasm, relentless encouragement, force of personality and pure belief in Taldryan without doubt played a huge part in drawing me back to the fold. Sid has one of those personalities that is hard to say 'no' to, and he has used this to dazzling effect in rebuilding Taldryan to the powerhouse that she once was.

His dedication to Taldryan has been supreme, he has managed to engage and earn the respect of both Tally's veterans (no mean feat on it's own!), and her younger blood, inspiring one and all to believe in and pull together for the good of the House. He has done all of this with very little reward, the occasional 'thank you', but nothing really to come close to balancing the time and dedication that he has given to Taldryan; it is for this reason that I whole-hearted back the recommendation for his promotion to Obelisk Primarch.

KE Nyssa "Bubbles" Taldrya Rollmaster to Taldryan

Sid, or (as his dossier/character profile says) Shaz'air (damn name changers) served as part of Taldryan's summit for almost two and a half years since his promotion to Obelisk Battlelord (Exarch?), including eighteen months as Quaestor and the remaining ten months as Aedile. During that time, he oversaw the unit, helped train members, drove participation in Vendettas (including a Great Jedi War), and participated in dozens of events. In all that time, and after putting in all that work - he was only awarded two Dark Crosses and one Steel Cross. For all the work he has put into Taldryan, and especially in light of Taldryan's more recent successes in the Dark Crusade, this is an unbelievable level of un-rewarding for such a member. Prior to Sid's retirement from the summit, Sid’s positions (before his retirement from the summit) as Taldryan’s Quaestor and later Aedile, were, at times, quite strange. He was responsible for one of the Brotherhood’s independent units - tasked with (amongst other things) leading his House to victory (which he was successful at) and training its new members to be productive and happy members of this club - this is true of all leaders of this club. In his situation, however, Sid was also shouldered with the responsibility of herding and corralling Taldryan’s old people. Sometimes this meant reigning us/them in when we/they went off the reservation, sometimes that meant letting experienced members do their thing, and sometimes that meant asking for help - something that many members would never do out of pride or ego. Sid performed all of these aspects masterfully, and Taldryan was better for it, and will continue to be so in the future.

In terms of Taldryan’s performance thanks to Sid, there are more reasons. Taldryan is the only unit thus far to deny Clan Arcona a victory in any Dark Crusade round, and would have a second time if not for an unfortunate set of circumstances that I will not dredge up in detail. Further to that, under Sid’s leadership - Taldryan’s marginal victory over Clan Arcona in the first round was greater than Arcona’s in the second (Taldryan’s 1.90 to Arcona’s 1.84 vs. Arcona’s 2.31 to Taldryan’s 2.27). Moreover, Sid’s leadership during the Tenth Great Jedi War secured Taldryan a healthy second place position overall.

As a token of our appreciation for his years of service to Taldryan – I recommend that Shaz'air Taldrya (damn name changes) be promoted to Obelisk Warlord – or whatever the hell you kids are calling the rank now.

Dark Jedi Master Howlader Medalbot

Sid has been one of Taldryan's few constant support pillars in the recent years. Us oldies come and go, and when we weren't around to shoulder some of the Summit's burden (as is Tal's tradition), Sid has been able to keep Tal steady and moving forward to the best of his abilities; and his abilities are damned good.

I've known Sid since he was a wee pup that came into the Mean Pit of Doom that was Dinaari during the time when Vlad and I were its Summit, and looking at him now I'm proud to say that he has grown into a man that not only Taldryan can be proud of, but that the entire Dark Brotherhood can be too. He has overcome challenges of keeping the Taldryan spirit alive at a time when most people wanted to cash in their chips and call it a day, and in the process raised a new generation of Taldryan members who have once again come to define our unit as a Brotherhood within a Brotherhood.

During his time as Quaestor, Siddles (as is his real name) has managed to keep us cantankerous, uppity Old Folks at bay, while training and encouraging new talent within the House: Rian Aslar is a perfect example of this.

I don't have specific numbers because I'm writing this recommendation from my phone on the bus on my way home from work, but Sid's activity post-Summit should not be discounted; upon stepping down as Aedile, he continued to prove his loyalty and dedication to Taldryan by going crazy in this never-ending Crusade, while keeping spirits high, encouraging others, and being an overall kickass cheerleader on IRC and Tal's e-mail list.

Of all the people who recently got promoted to Obelisk Primarch, Sid probably deserves it most.
