Essik Lyccane is one of those members whom you don't always see, but you always know he's out doing everything he can to support his Clanmates, the Clan, and the DB as a whole. As we often do, we'll skim through the roster updating our tracking sheet, and when it's time to scroll through Essik's progress, we are never disappointed by the amount of work he has put in since his last award or promotion. So, let's first start with some numbers.

Since his last promotion, Essik has participated in 214 competitions that earned him 5 Crescents with Diamond Stars, 21 Crescents with Ruby Stars, 28 Crescents with Amethyst Stars, 29 Crescents with Sapphire Stars, 12 Crescents with Emerald Stars, 3 Crescents with Topaz Stars, and 1 Crescent with Quartz Star. Additionally, he has participated in 3 PvP matches earning him 8 Clusters of Fire and 3 Pendants of Blood, 25 PvE activities earning him 46 Clusters of Earth, 37 Graphic competitions earning him 103 Clusters of Graphite, and hold on while I check this again… 43 Fiction activities earning him 273 Clusters of Ice for a total of 123,003 words! Essik has written more words of fiction in the span of only two years than J. K. Rowling in her first three Harry Potter books, J. R. R. Tolkien in The Hobbit and Harper Lee in To Kill a Mockingbird! That's just counting the stuff the site tracks.

Off the site, Essik is a powerhouse in the wiki world. Having around 2,000 total edits to images and pages such as The Myrkr Crusade, The Fang, Desired One, The Tenixir Revenants, The Severian Principate, Rite of Supremacy: Escalation, The Collective and The Unknown to name his most current major updates, Essik has been awarded 1 Amethyst Kukri, 1 Sapphire Blade, a Grand Cross and another Grand Cross, all of which highlight his other amazing contributions to the DB wiki. He has also earned 10 Dark Side Scrolls for being named Wikipedian of the month for January/20, February/20, July/20, October/20, November/20, January/21, March/21, April/21, July/21 and August/21 including earning 5 for having a Featured Article of the Month for articles Nikora Rhan, Trepus Mine, The Fang, Rite of Supremacy: Escalation and The Severian Principate. Since his last promotion, Essik has contributed approximately 62,789 words across over 100 pages.

With all that writing, most people would be tired. Not Essik. He has also passed 19 Shadow Academy exams, earned 7 degrees, received 1 Scroll of Indoctrination for recruiting Sulon Tiful, a Scroll of the Master for mentoring Elyon de Neverse to the rank of Knight, 2 Seals of Loyalty and 1 Legion of Scholar. In the last GJW he earned 2 Gold Nova, 2 Silver Nova, 1 Bronze Nova and 25 Seals of Vision. In the COU-PLA feud he was named Feud Hero for attaining the most individual points and 1 Gold Nova. During Rite of Supremacy: Escalation he helped us secure a 4th place win by earning himself 1 Gold Nova, 1 Silver Nova and 18 Seals of Enmity. He also created several ROS competition guides that gave members an easy to read rundown of each competition.

The thing about Essik is he is always there when you need him. Anytime you need something written or a wiki updated, Essik will always volunteer. Thank you Essik. Your contributions, though not always out in the open, help to keep this club moving. You’re a good member, friend and confidant. You’ve more than earned this promotion to EQ 4. Congratulations!

I will not repeat the statistics covered in other recommendations but I would like to emphasize the impact of Essik's contributions. Drafting new wiki pages, updating existing ones, or creating vendetta guides for your clan and faction teammates isn't glamourous or sexy. Often such work occurs behind the scenes away from the limelight of unit leaders and vendetta heroes. But those contributions are so essential. The staggering amount of work Essik has done for COU and beyond has been solely for the ease and enjoyment of his fellow members. He does this almost always on his own initiative and does not ask a single thing in return.

For all his work which has had a direct impact on the members of the club and the clan I am proud to submit this recommendation for the pinnacle equite rank. Thank you for all you do Essik!

Essik Lyccane has been a force of nature in this club for many years now. Throughout my tenure as Consul, I had the privilege to reward that energy with a Grand Cross, Sapphire Blade, and Amethyst Kukri. Rain or shine, he continues to work hard for Odan-Urr and the club at large, not caring if he is lauded for it or not. I will gladly laud it for him. Consistently, he has been an ever-present and active member of the club through competitions and the like. So many stop doing these or scale back, forgetting a key part of this club. Essik is an exemplary active member of the DB. Second, he has been a wiki phenomenon with his dizzying amount of edits to all pages he sees needing edits or creation. Whether it be core DB assets, updating other clans pages, other DB member pages regardless of clan, or Odan-Urr pages; the DB wiki would be immeasurably worse off without his constant attention and care. He does all of this selflessly and for others.

Equite 4 is a big step and Essik’s dedication and time invested in the club has proven himself more than worthy of it. I am very proud of your contributions to the club and the time and energy you have put into it. Thanks for making the DB a better place. Congratulations on your promotion!

The other recommendations have attested in some parts as to the Wiki contributions that Essik has made in the larger club. It has already been hit upon the number of "Wikipedian of the Month" awardings that Essik has received and the work on Featured Pages that Essik has recieved.

I would like to further illustrate the impact that Essik has had on the Wiki. If one is to look at the Contribution Score statistics page, you can see that Essik is currently the 5th scored contributor to our collective Wiki, with contributions ranging from helping to properly categorize images, to fleshing out pages on fictional groups and enemies of the Brotherhood, and has developed interesting and nuanced NPCs for a variety of purposes. Not all of the over 3,000 edits that Essik has made have been huge in content, but they have together made a noticable impact in helping to make our wiki a more orderly place. Given that he acts as a regular members, as opposed to a member of my Wiki Staff, this is particularly notable. Given that the top four contributors are former leaders and in at least two cases Wiki Tribunes the sheer number AND quality of edits are laudable.

Having seen these contributions first hand as Wiki Tribune, I would like to do two things. For one, I want to reinforce how thankful I am that Essik continues to contribute to the wiki with such regularity. Second, I would like to add my voice in support that Essik move up to the ranks of the 4th grade of the Equites.

This one has been coming for a long, long while, so I’m not going to leave things waiting. Nero is an incredibly active presence within Galeres, a constant and welcome voice in just about all things, whether it’s discussing lore or jumping feet-first into roleplay. He was one of the first members of the house that I became acquainted with when I arrived to the position of Battleteam leader, and has remained a key member of our unit.

There is a veritable mountain of activity to present since Nero’s last promotion. He has organized ten competitions, and participated in a grand total of 175, earning two diamond crescents, a ruby crescent, two amethyst crescents, six sapphire crescents, eight emerald crescents, four topaz crescents, and a quartz crescent. On the writing front, he completed two ACC battles, wrote in two fiction comps, and netted eight crescents of ice. Beyond that, he has made an impressive name for himself in gaming, winning 1250 clusters of fire, 162 clusters of earth, and five pendants of blood. To round out the bloated rack of medals adorning his chest, Nero has also been awarded a Steel Cross, two Anteian Crosses, and a Dark Cross, alongside thirty clusters of graphite, a Scroll of Indoctrination, a Legion of the Scholar, six Seals of Wrath, nine Seals of Fury, a Seal of Discord, three Seals of Visions, and eight Seals of Enmity.

Most important, however, is Nero’s time spent serving the club. He logged six months of distinguished service as Magistrate to the Herald, three months as a Magistrate to the Master At Arms, and a further two months as a Battleteam leader.

There’s not much more that needs to be said here. Nero deserves this, more than just about anybody. Therefore, it is my pride and honor to recommend him for promotion to the rank of Equite 3.

Looking at Nero's stats since his promotion in 2016, he has surely amassed an impressive number of shiny objects and held quite a plethora of positions. Since joining Arcona and Galeres, he's been, as our Aedile has summarized, a consistent and active presence in the House, providing not only a warm body to the roster, but one that is willing and able to reach out to others that need some help. His obsession with swords is easily matched by his desire to see good and better things for his unit(s); a good sign of the potential expected of the higher ranks of the Brotherhood.

Tyga is one of those members for whom real life is in constant conflict with the club, and yet still manages to rock activity whenever the opportunity arises. Since his promotion in March 2020, Tyga has participated in 32 competitions, many of which were fiction-based, hence his over fifteen thousand words of fiction (13.4k fictions, 2.2k ROs). During the same time, he was awarded for his activity with an Anteian Cross, which only bespoke of the action to come. During the major events, he earned 1 Seal of Enmity and 3 Seals of Visions, earning him a Bronze Nova in one of these submissions. For further proof of the quality of his work, he's also earned Crescents: 3 with Ruby Star, 3 with Amethyst Star, 1 with Sapphire Star, and 1 with Topaz Star. That 25% placement rate shows he produces work of quality and not merely quantity. Unsurprisingly, he's also earned 36 Clusters of Ice from all of his fictioning, and 8 Clusters of Graphite. While not quantified in awards and numbers on the DJB site itself, he is not only a participant in our House roleplay sessions, but has also penned one of the prompts, and one of the more popular and action-packed ones at that.

While he has not served in any positions during this time, this level of attention and activity shows great potential in Tyga, and that he is worthy of moving beyond Knighthood and into the ranks of the Equites, where he will undoubtedly shine even more.

Tyga Orn Nilin inspires me daily with the devotion he applies to his passions. From working diligently in broadening opportunities for those with disabilities in his field to expanding upon his love of star wars and other fictional stories. Whenever possible, he embraces his interest in writing within the club, often participating in fiction competitions and role play sessions. He is eager to collaborate with others and intrigued with aiding in building the stories we embark upon, something he was able to accomplish with helping present a roleplay scene for House Galeres. Tyga doesn't shy away from a call to arms either. Whenever an event is occuring, he comes to aid his fellow peers in participating in it. He was greatly present in the last war, the clan events, and even squeezed out a bit of participation in the RoS despite being busy. Tyga has a kind soul, open and welcoming to all those he meets. He joins in celebrating his peers accomplishments and I've seen him console those who are feeling down.

I believe there is plenty of potential in Tyga's future going forward, and Arcona is honored to have such an eager member. I support promoting Tyga Orn Nilin to the ranks of Equate! May you continue to shine brighter than the stars that light your path.
