This one has been coming for a long, long while, so I’m not going to leave things waiting. Nero is an incredibly active presence within Galeres, a constant and welcome voice in just about all things, whether it’s discussing lore or jumping feet-first into roleplay. He was one of the first members of the house that I became acquainted with when I arrived to the position of Battleteam leader, and has remained a key member of our unit.

There is a veritable mountain of activity to present since Nero’s last promotion. He has organized ten competitions, and participated in a grand total of 175, earning two diamond crescents, a ruby crescent, two amethyst crescents, six sapphire crescents, eight emerald crescents, four topaz crescents, and a quartz crescent. On the writing front, he completed two ACC battles, wrote in two fiction comps, and netted eight crescents of ice. Beyond that, he has made an impressive name for himself in gaming, winning 1250 clusters of fire, 162 clusters of earth, and five pendants of blood. To round out the bloated rack of medals adorning his chest, Nero has also been awarded a Steel Cross, two Anteian Crosses, and a Dark Cross, alongside thirty clusters of graphite, a Scroll of Indoctrination, a Legion of the Scholar, six Seals of Wrath, nine Seals of Fury, a Seal of Discord, three Seals of Visions, and eight Seals of Enmity.

Most important, however, is Nero’s time spent serving the club. He logged six months of distinguished service as Magistrate to the Herald, three months as a Magistrate to the Master At Arms, and a further two months as a Battleteam leader.

There’s not much more that needs to be said here. Nero deserves this, more than just about anybody. Therefore, it is my pride and honor to recommend him for promotion to the rank of Equite 3.

Looking at Nero's stats since his promotion in 2016, he has surely amassed an impressive number of shiny objects and held quite a plethora of positions. Since joining Arcona and Galeres, he's been, as our Aedile has summarized, a consistent and active presence in the House, providing not only a warm body to the roster, but one that is willing and able to reach out to others that need some help. His obsession with swords is easily matched by his desire to see good and better things for his unit(s); a good sign of the potential expected of the higher ranks of the Brotherhood.

Tyga is one of those members for whom real life is in constant conflict with the club, and yet still manages to rock activity whenever the opportunity arises. Since his promotion in March 2020, Tyga has participated in 32 competitions, many of which were fiction-based, hence his over fifteen thousand words of fiction (13.4k fictions, 2.2k ROs). During the same time, he was awarded for his activity with an Anteian Cross, which only bespoke of the action to come. During the major events, he earned 1 Seal of Enmity and 3 Seals of Visions, earning him a Bronze Nova in one of these submissions. For further proof of the quality of his work, he's also earned Crescents: 3 with Ruby Star, 3 with Amethyst Star, 1 with Sapphire Star, and 1 with Topaz Star. That 25% placement rate shows he produces work of quality and not merely quantity. Unsurprisingly, he's also earned 36 Clusters of Ice from all of his fictioning, and 8 Clusters of Graphite. While not quantified in awards and numbers on the DJB site itself, he is not only a participant in our House roleplay sessions, but has also penned one of the prompts, and one of the more popular and action-packed ones at that.

While he has not served in any positions during this time, this level of attention and activity shows great potential in Tyga, and that he is worthy of moving beyond Knighthood and into the ranks of the Equites, where he will undoubtedly shine even more.

Tyga Orn Nilin inspires me daily with the devotion he applies to his passions. From working diligently in broadening opportunities for those with disabilities in his field to expanding upon his love of star wars and other fictional stories. Whenever possible, he embraces his interest in writing within the club, often participating in fiction competitions and role play sessions. He is eager to collaborate with others and intrigued with aiding in building the stories we embark upon, something he was able to accomplish with helping present a roleplay scene for House Galeres. Tyga doesn't shy away from a call to arms either. Whenever an event is occuring, he comes to aid his fellow peers in participating in it. He was greatly present in the last war, the clan events, and even squeezed out a bit of participation in the RoS despite being busy. Tyga has a kind soul, open and welcoming to all those he meets. He joins in celebrating his peers accomplishments and I've seen him console those who are feeling down.

I believe there is plenty of potential in Tyga's future going forward, and Arcona is honored to have such an eager member. I support promoting Tyga Orn Nilin to the ranks of Equate! May you continue to shine brighter than the stars that light your path.

Better known as Orion or Ori in chats, Sera Kaern has been a workhorse since his promotion in November ‘20. Going through the raw numbers, he’s organized 11 competitions, co-organized another 4, and participated in 91 competitions! This included participating in the recent Rite of Supremacy: Escalation, earning him a solid 16 Seals of Enmity. In May ‘21, his work earned him his first sacramental award, a Sapphire Blade, after which he didn’t let up. In total, of the competitions participated, he’s placed in 31; an over 1:3 ratio for placements, and proof of his quality work. Of these placements, he earned 2 Gold Novae, 4 Silver Novae, and 25 other Crescents of various kinds. While gaming has only netted him 1 Cluster of Fire, his prolific writing — over thirty six thousand words across fictions and run-ons — has earned him 108 Clusters of Ice, while his time spent in the artsy world gained him an additional 19 Clusters of Graphite. A stint with some trivia also gained him a Legion of the Scholar, and his steady influx of recruiting garnered a Scroll of Indoctrination.

Outside of his general activity, Ori is a regular in the leadership and service scene. During this rated time, he finished out two months as Battleteam Leader of Spectre Cell; a position in which he effectively functioned as House-level leadership by building competitions and developing the ongoing House plot for the sitting QUA and AED. When the House leadership changed out, Ori stepped up to take the reins as Aedile in December ‘20 to a demanding Quaestor. Since then, he has been a font of behind-the-scenes activity, working to make House Galeres the best place it could be. He is a positive presence for the House: always chipper and energetic to a point that sometimes we need to tell him to stop and breathe for a second. He runs House roleplay sessions, aids in developing our ongoing House plot, and is an active participant in the same as much as he is a creator and organizer. What’s more, he is learning, getting better and better with the regular necessary administrative tasks, developing his knowledge and experience as a force for good among the membership. Idris will no doubt talk about his work as M:Voice, but it is worth mention that Ori is a regular source of discussion over character sheets and the less-talked-about projects that are always burning somewhere.

For all this, and assuredly more, I recommend Sera “Orion” Kaern be promoted from Savant (EQ2) to Seer (EQ3). Thank you, Ori.

Ori continues to be one hell of a magistrate for the Voice office. His thoughtful approach to managing the CS system, coupled with a genuine desire to make every member’s character the best they can be has been a real asset to the team. His remands are thoughtful and professional, guiding and encouraging when many should be nothing more than frustration to deal with. Ori never complains or shirks his duties on the staff, and I know when he is handling a sheet it will be done with the utmost care.

Even when not directly handling a sheet himself, his insight remains excellent, and his suggestions on how members could improve are never hampered. Since his promotion in November of 2020, Ori has handled 103 sheet approvals (approximately 25% of the manual approvals processed) as well as dozens of remands.

Outside of the normal queue maintenance, Ori remains a driving force of positivity towards our various Voice projects, and a very active participant in discussion around new feats to add to our system.

Congratulations Ori! You’ve earned this.
