Alot of the time, I delay promoting members a bit longer, but in Spears, I see a talent that has yet only begun to be tapped. I hesitate slightly, because I don't want to step on the proverbial toes of Jason Hunter, the QUA of Gladius, but this is an honor I'd like to assume that Jason would agree wholeheartedly with me on.

Spears continues to be one of the most active members we have on IRC. Not only that, he also participates largely on the Clan message boards, and has also shown his ability to win competition by winning the motto comp for the ACC. Spears is constantly asking around through email, or on IRC about things he can do to be more active, and to help the Clan, and I always like to see that from newer members. His enthusiasm and willingness to serve has even been tapped by our Sith members in Tridens, by way of Hammerhead CMDR Oberst, who asked specifically asked for Spears to assist him with the project of Clan History.

It is my recommendation, and honor to request this, that Spears be promoted to Protector. My congratulations, and respect for his continued support of Tarentum, go with this request.

Shaithis has been a role model for the entire clan for a long time. He is consistantly active even when the rest of the clan is in a down time. He has deserved rewarding for it for a long time, therefore it has reached the point where a promotion is more than appropriate.

Blade has served by my side for a while now and there is no finer person in the DB than him. Blade has shown constant loyalty to the house and clan, as well as always being there for other members.

Since he completed his Phase 2 work, he has completed two Academy courses (Leadership and DJ Meditation), and placed in two contests (1st in Dear Diary, 2nd in the Clan's System Competition). Also, he deserves credit for general activity within the House.

Lorad took over as Quaestor of HAD around a month ago. At the time it was decreed that he should not be promoted beyond JH until he had proved himself. He has done that in spades in his time as QUA, and is also currenly running a DB wide competition.

Normally, I wait for a while before promoting to Knight, but I think Obscurus is one of the few cases I've seen where I can't promote him fast enough. I took the time to stretch it out a bit because I wanted to get another look at his writing skills, to see improvement. I had the opportunity to battle him in the ACC, and his skill with writing himself, and other people, is just phenominal.

Obscurus is constantly looking to help me however he can, and as my Apprentice, it has been appreciated for the past year and a half. He's been my Apprentice for about as long as he's been in Tarentum, and throughout that time, he's developed into a member who seeks to devote himself to two things: having fun, and trying to make the DB better. I've seen a number of good ideas come from him, that he has sent to myself, and to Jac and FF. They may not get used, but they are still completely thought through, and show that he spends time trying to give back.

I think Obscurus is ready to ascend to that hallowed rank of Knight, and join the ranks of those of us who have moved beyond the initiatory ranks through JH, and seek greater advancement in the Force, and in the DB as a whole. I offer my full congratulations to him, and will continue to await the good things that will surely come from his career.

I hereby wish to recommend Acolyte Kalinor for a promotion to the rank of Protector. To my shame, I must admit that I should have recommended Kalinor a whole lot earlier. He has been an Acolyte for over six months now, and has shown consistent activity during that period of time. He recieved no less than four medals for high activity or high quality submissions. On top of that, he also had a good IRC presence. In my opinion these achievements fully warrant a promotion to Protector, and it pains me to see the activities of a hard-working member of Qel-Droma having been neglected for such a long time.
