It feels like just yesterday that the Arcona Summit came together to write up a promotion for one of our most promising Knights: Celevon Edraven. Looking back, I can’t believe that was actually almost exactly 2 years ago. We’ve all grown and changed over time, and Celevon’s journey has been anything but typical.

After being promoted for good activity and taking initiative by creating a Battleteam from scratch (May 2012), Celevon went on to lead that team for another 6 months before stepping down (Nov 2012). In those 6 months he was an active contributor to the Arcona Summit by driving activity in not just his own members, but those around him. Feeling the need for change, Celevon transferred amiably over to help House Plagueis out. Starting as XO of Karness Murr for 7 months, he then progressed to Battleteam Leader before being tapped right away for the Rollmaster position. As Rollmaster, he was then responsible for taking over as interim Quaestor while a new leadership team was sought out. Once the House was secured with a new team, Celevon stepped down and left the way open for the new members that were starting to flock to the House-on-the-rise.

That’s the type of leader Celevon is. He’s not loud and in your face, but he’s steady and reliable and always willing to do what’s best for his team. Shortly after his trip to the rogues, Celevon transferred back into Arcona where he was a full participant in Clan activities, earning merit for taking 10th place (out of 34th) in Operation: Sojourn. When Dark Forge was looking for an XO, Celevon knew that his experience could be of help, and bravely stepped up to assist with the team for a month. He did so well in his support role, that we decided to bring him over to House Qel-Droma to take over Shadow Phyle. Shortly after, when we realized the team was not working out as intended, he again volunteered to step up and take over Battleteam Arete, lending Timeros a hand with Arcona’s unique, ACC-centric team. Through it all his patience, temperament, and willingness to help our members (young and old) is a testament to what he’s gone through in his time in the Brotherhood.

TL;DR: Celevon has served in multiple leadership roles over the course of his two years as an Obelisk Templar. 1 Dark Cross, 3 Anteian Cross’, and 2 Steel Cross’ speak to his activity as both a member and leader. In my eyes, there are few more deserving of the rank of Equite 2. And so, I humbly request the elevation of Celevon Edraven to Obelisk Prelate.

Congratulations, Cel2, you’ve earned it.

Consul of Clan Arcona

Ever since Celevon returned to Arcona, he has hit the ground running, organising competitions and working hard to take leadership of one of our fledgeling battle teams, and using his experience to help our newer leaders find their place and develop. His long time in numerous leadership positions within Palgueis and Arcona, 9 months in Palgueis alone, has given him a wealth of experience he has freely divulged to strengthen the entirety of Qel-Droma.

Celevon has been a powerhouse of activity, leading his fellow Arconans by example by participating in numerous competitions and receiving a number of awards for his efforts. He’s always present and eager to talk, be it in email, IRC, or whatsapp. Celevon has been a pillar of the Qel-Droma community for the short time he has been here, and, for that reason, I’d be honoured to recommend him for promotion to Obelisk Prelate.

Quaestor of House Qel-Droma

While Celevon was still a part of the Ascendant House/Clan, he was an important asset to the unit and was key to getting Plagueis where it is today. Among his many contributions was his assistance in getting Battleteam (now House) Karness Muur up and running. He helped develop the fictional aspects, write the wiki articles, and do all sorts of other things to bring the team online. Without his assistance, the process wouldn’t have gone nearly as well. Celevon also showed great flexibility through several leadership changes that Plagueis endured in his time there. He was always willing to step into whatever role we needed him to fill.

Beyond all that, Celevon was also an active contributor in competitions. He submitted to 22 events during the Crusade and took home 4 novae. Beyond that he helped drive activity, particularly from our journeymen. Combined with what else he has done, I feel that he more than deserves this promotion.

In the last 10 months since his last elevation to Equite 1, Valtiere has been a constant force of activity in Arcona not just as a member, but one of its leaders. For the last 8 months, Valt has served as Aedile of House Qel-Droma, recently stepping up to take over as its Quaestor. He has been responsible for multiple projects for the house including the Nexum (Qel-Droma’s elite, a way to help motivate the House members during the later rounds of the Dark Crusade.) He is always pushing for innovation, leads by example, and is handy at helping new members get their feet under them. He has taken on Lexiconus as an apprentice, who is slowly making his rise. His ability to not only lead, generate activity, and help others is what makes him a vital part of the Arcona Summit.

Valt encouraged people to get ACC Qualified and has done so himself, and has been a full participant to date in the Fading Light Vendetta. He was also awarded a Sapphire Blade for his performance in the Dark Crusade and as a leader, which helps build up to this well-earned promotion to Equite 2.

Valtiere’s time in the Brotherhood has slowly racked up, with the intrepid Little-Englander creeping over the 18 month mark not too far back. In the time since he was first persuaded to join the club, Valtiere has never once sat back and thought “well, that’s enough for today”. Since his last promotion, Valtiere has maintained an excellent level of personal activity and dedication to the members in his House, working to help introduce new Battleteams as well as maintaining the levels of activity from already established teams. When his QUA was unfortunately forced to take a step back for a while due to RL matters, Valtiere doggedly pursued the role of leading the House on his own, working with his members as well as other leaders within Arcona to make sure that nothing was missed in that difficult time, and that Qel-Droma continued to strengthen and grow despite being one leader down. On a House level, he has helped to contribute to wider projects, as well as running competitions and activities that are varied and give his members something to do. He has tutored new BTLs on what they need to do and how to do it, aided immensely by his approachability and scarily high IRC presence. Even when he is at work in RL, he is never more than an hour or so away for anyone who might need to contact him, which when you consider that a 24 hour turnaround is seen as good, his is outstanding.

However, Valtiere is not just interested in helping only those who are in his house; he casts his supportive net wider than that. He is part of the new team being assembled to bring the Antei Combat Bureau back to activity and has been brainstorming with myself and the other member of our team to make sure that the product we wish to re-introduce is as sustainable and dependable as possible. He has helped with one of the Galerean team’s run-ons to help pad out the numbers and boost activity in it, as well as helping various members with little questions and problems which he happily fixes as and when he can. He is approachable and polite, but he can also have a laugh with it which means that members come to him for anything and everything, knowing that he will do what he can to help them out.

In the end, Valtiere’s work over the months since his last promotion speak volumes as to his character and work ethic, while reccomendations like this one are here to fill in the blanks, so I’ll summarise. Nikola is a brilliant member, an exceptional leader and a damn good friend. He works hard for his House, his Clan and his Brotherhood, and I see no signs of change in his future.

Valt, you’ve continued to impress, don’t let up now. Congratulations!

Nikola Valtiere has been a boon to Arcona. Since joining almost two years ago, he’s been a constant source of activity which I’m sure my peers will cover more fully. From my experience, Gilbert has been an up-beat, positive member of the summit who doesn’t allow himself to get embroiled in the politics that seem to litter the Brotherhood, and instead of becoming stuck in a quagmire of negativity following our loss in the Crusade, he stepped up, making sure that his subordinate units had a hand holding them through the difficult stages of training up newer members.

Personally, he’s been a huge benefit to me, both by helping come up with a plot for the recent Nighthawk RO, offering to help run it by posting, and he’s also been a massive help brainstorming the intricacies of the fleet purchases. His knowledge of Star Wars Naval Warfare is exhaustive and a massive advantage to possess when considering how to perfect Arcona’s fleet, and which strides to take on that front. Thanks, Gilbert.
