The Ruby Scepter is an award given to the greatest of mentors of the Brotherhood and I can think of no greater mentor in modern memory than Sang.

Sang is a serial master, having guided three members through to the conclusion of their trials (Inarya, Kalon and Anigrel) and I'm sure still aids these students to this day.

But his mentor-ship is not limited to just new members within his own clan. Sang is also a Professor of the Shadow Academy where he overseas the Department of Lore Studies. His grading turnaround time is among the fastest, if not the fastest, of all graders. This ensures students get their results in an impressively fast time, often times meaning newer members get to their next promotion that much sooner.

Sang, thanks for all the work you do for the Dark Brotherhood.

Primary reason

Ar'rik has been a wonderful asset to the House ever since he's joined. In recent times, however, he's been an absolute powerhouse: between participation in a wide variety of competitions and clusters of fire, he's been a very active part in our Clan Run-on and assisting the Summit with projects and discussions. Always ready to lend a hand, friendly and a great person to work with, I am proud to award Ar'rik with this Anteian cross for his service to Clan and House.

  • Vaar Mai, Aedile of House Marka Ragnos

Battlelord Mirus Hi'ija, 2013-12-05 05:43:33 UTC
Additional reasons

Since joining the Scepter of Ragnos Ar'rik has proven himself to be a great asset to the Battle Team. He has participated in multiple competitions, has been promoted to the rank of Jedi Hunter, and has earned a Seal of Loyalty.

I have seen him in the Clan chat on many nights talking with other members of the clan. He is also currently participating regularly in the the 'Betrayal from Within...' RO.

He is an asset to the Clan, the House, and his Battle Team. We are lucky to have a member like him among us.

For his service, I recommend Ar'rik be awarded with an Anteian Cross.

Primary reason

Inarya can often get mistakenly grouped with Cethgus (a fate few deserve) for obvious reasons. However, Inarya is a member of the Brotherhood in her own right, and does well in showing her abilities as a member of Arcona. Her drawings were a huge benefit to the Arcona Dark Crusade Wiki Articles, helping her secure 4 novae, including 1 gold and 1 silver. She hit on 13/31 events despite a busy school schedule that took up most of her time, and was always present and available to help her fellow members out. She has been a great help to Dark Forge as it has developed as a team in Arcona, and Inarya has more than earned a Steal Cross. Congratulations, Ina :).

Consul of Clan Arcona

Legend Wally, 2013-12-05 04:09:09 UTC
Additional reasons

Inarya swept through the majority of the Dark Crusade before real life got a hold of her. She snagged herself a gold nova on Svolten for the run on competition, a silver on Krayiss II for the wiki, and a pair of bronze novae; one on Svolten for the Infectious Madness fiction, and another on Kalsunor for the Battle Plan.

She's also been extremely active in gaming, especially on the Old Republic guild, running Operations and Flashpoints with the guild on a regular basis, racking up nearly one hundred Clusters of Fire in the last month alone. As the resident gamer of Dark Forge, and for her hard work during the Crusade, I'm happy to award Inarya with an Steel Cross.

Battleteam Leader of Dark Forge

General Stres'tron'garmis, 2013-12-05 04:08:04 UTC

Few members are as stable or dedicated as Inarya. She’s been nothing but a brilliant comrade and sister-in-arms in all the time I’ve known her. Throughout the Crusade, she was a constant presence of activity, mentorship, and support; and even when, as it always tends to, her life got a bit busy for competitions, she was still always there for her fellow clanmates. Specifically, she aided her Clan in the Crusade in her participation in fourteen unique events, spanning planets and months of time. Her efforts not only earned her several Novae, but placed her in the top twenty for standing within the Clan. Yet perhaps more importantly than her strict participation was her advances in motivating her teammates to engage as well. Inarya has been an energetic and encouraging member of Dark Forge for about nine months now, and in that time, she’s always pushed her teammates and lead by example. Whether it was putting together a team for the Vendetta Run-Ons, being present and actively interacting on IRC, or responding to emails, she was always vocal in her inspiration of her fellow Battleteam members, as well as her fellow clanmates and friends around the Brotherhood. Furthermore, she had a hand in nurturing her Clan’s future and taking on the role of a teacher during the Crusade: in these last months, she took on three different students, and guided one to Dark Jedi Knight as the war raged around them; and even then, she still offered help to all Arcona’s young ones that needed advice, myself included. Between her additions to Arcona’s prosperous Crusade run and her general rallying of her brethren, Inarya’s achievements are simply outstanding.

Let it never be said that Inarya does not represent this brotherhood’s spirit, because nothing could be further from the truth. She fought for Arcona in the Vendetta, took many journeymen under her wing when they needed guidance, and continued to bolster the clan in any way that she could. While notable for her gaming activity, there’s so much more, and not enough can be said for her contributions. I can only hope this award shows our appreciation.

Congratulations on the Steel Cross, Sarah. You’ve earned it and more. Keep going, because I have no doubt you’ll go far.

Primary reason

Etah d'Tana is an Arconan. He perseveres through wars, vendettas, and even through times of peace. Since his last promotion on May 10, 2009 he has pumped more tigerblood through his veins than most other Arconan’s would know what to do with. He has served as Eclectic Pedagogue of General Leadership for 3 months, served as Aedile for 3 months, was the Docent of Arcona History for 6 months, Quaestor of Galeres for 3 months, and Rollmaster of Galares for 6 months. This is 13 months sequentially serving both Galeres and Arcona! During this time he was the primary author of the Shadow Clan's Prospectus, has an extensive history for House Galeres, and created the framework for Arcona's ground forces. He continued to prove himself by serving as the Left Hand of Justice for 1 year. He was Battleteam Leader of the Black Hammer Brigade for 3 months, Battleteam Leader of Secter Cell, and has been the Battleteam Leader of Shadow Gate for 2 months incumbently while training Deimos as an XO.

He has earned an astounding 3 Steel Crosses, 3 Anteian Crosses, 5 Dark Crosses, 5 Gold Novae, 3 Silver Novae, 1 Bronze Novae, 1 Amethyst Crescent, 4 Sapphire Crescents, 2 Emerald Crescents, 1 Topaz Crescent, 14 Clusters of Ice, 2 Scrolls of Foundation, 1 Scroll of Indoctrination, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 13 Seals of Unity, 2 Seals of Bone, 7 Seals of Defiance, 14 Seals of Decimation, 7 Seals of Affliction, and a Seal of Reminiscence.

Most recently he mentored Deimos d'Tana to Dark Jedi Knight. Deimos has continued following his Master's example and recently even joined the Equites of Qel-Droma. If all of our members were able to follow the activity Etah and Deimos’ battleteam has had Arcona would have won Ziost and the Dark Crusade.

For four years of consistent activity, his leadership, his participation during the Dark Crusade, and his help identifying opportunities of improvement for Qel-Droma's Summit I am proud to recommend Etah for his well deserved promotion to Equite 3.

Quaestor of Qel-Droma

It’s easy to take advantage of certain types of members. They are not the flashiest members, and won’t take the spotlight by winning tons of novae or writing a big emotional speech. They are the workhouses that lead by example and deed- working hard and never complaining or letting a lack of the limelight slow their progress. They are excellent leaders with long track records, and whenever they are called on, they simply step up. No questions asked. No need for reward.

Etah embodies this type of work ethic, and because he’s not as loud as others, his actions sometimes get overlooked. Nevertheless, Etah has been a staple of activity in Arcona since I joined it 4 years ago. I’ve seen him tackle everything from BTL up to Quaestor when needed. Not only that, he has helped bring back older members such as Deimos, who ended up becoming one of our 20 DJKs this year as well as our top participant in the Dark Crusade. He has been working with him as a mentor and has shown patience and resilience in the face of a long career.

I almost fell completely out of my chair when I realized the last time he had been promoted was 2009. As his Quaestor, Proconsul, and now Consul I hope to remedy this immediately with elevation to Obelisk Exarch.

Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you’ve given Arcona, Etah. We would not be the same without you.

Consul of Clan Arcona

Etah has been one of the stalwarts of Clan Arcona, and he has been a veteran voice through exhilarating highs and frustrating lows. He’s one of those guys that is an Arconan to his core, his name synonymous with his unit, a member who always answers the call to arms whenever Arcona goes to war, and whenever his peers need a leader. I remember snagging him on G+ multiple times over the years, just to say one thing: we need you.

Every time, he answered the call. He’s been successful at every stop, including in roles from Quaestor to Aedile to Battleteam Leader. He’s the kind of leader who does not complain, who does not need validation, and who does not need praise or rewards in order to remain upbeat and effective in his position. He’s not a flashy, rabble-rousing motivator who whips the mailing list into a bloodthirsty fervor, nor is he an aloof but effective administrator. He’s something better than both.

Etah, above all, is a member’s leader. He talks to them, he gets them, and he knows them. It’s that kind of leadership, especially from a veteran who is respected as Etah is, that really inspires a love of Clan and Brotherhood in Journeymen and younger members. It’s those traits, and that style, that have allowed Etah to effectively mentor so many Arconans over his years. This steady leadership is something that is too easy to overlook, but without it, Arcona would not be the place that it is today.

Thank you, Etah, for being a friend and a mentor even to me. You are the cream of a crop of Arconan veterans that ensures continuity and stability even as Consuls and Quaestors rise and fall, and reflected within you are the same values and characteristics that Arcona attempts to instill in all of its members. Thank you for being a shining light, and for giving so selflessly to the Brotherhood.

Proconsul of Clan Arcona

There are showboats, and there are those who just get things done. Some of us have no desire to sing our own praises, preferring to let the results speak for themselves. Etah is in that same category. Solid, steady, and consistent, his even hand helps create an environment of trust, of teamwork. It is a shame that all too often, these sort of folks get overlooked, passed over in favor of giving the praise to the louder brethren. Today,w e rectify this for at least one man. Etah, It is with great honor that I reccomend you for promotion. Please accept this as a token of the Brotherhood's esteem for you and what you have done for Arcona. It is most appreciated.
