Over two and a half years ago, Evant was promoted to Dark Adept, joining the ranks of our Elders. Since then, Evant has not slowed down, and he has continued to shape our Brotherhood in countless ways. Elders are our most noteworthy members, where the rare combination of dedication to our organization and impact of their contributions can be felt across the entire club. Even among this group, fewer still make contributions that fundamentally change the club, contributing to the experiences of our members in real and unique ways. These are our Dark Jedi Masters, and there is no doubt that Evant has impacted our club unlike few members in its history. As an advisor, as Regent, and now as Deputy Grand Master, Evant is a force within our Brotherhood and completely worthy of promotion to Dark Jedi Master. It has been a pleasure to work with Evant over the last few years, and I know all of our members have felt the positive contributions he has made to our club.

Evant is one of our most trusted voices on the Dark Council. His opinions are always deeply considered for an eye towards the betterment of the Brotherhood as a whole, and he participates in every discussion in every office of the Dark Council. Evant is never without a valuable opinion, and he has shaped policy in numerous offices, both as Regent, and now as Deputy Grand Master. His vision for the Brotherhood is one of continual engagement with our systems, and it shapes the decisions of the Dark Council on a daily basis. Evant has contributed significantly to three Vendetta events over the last few years, directly organizing more than a dozen competitions and contributing as a grader to a dozen more, and helping to write, develop, and cross-check another dozen or so competitions. His contributions were most keenly felt in the most recent Great Jedi War, which I touch on in greater depth below.

Since he completed Possessions more than two years ago, Evant continued to develop the Regent's Office and our credit and possessions system, adding hundreds of new items and meticulously managing a system that provides "end game" activities to members across our club. Evant earned an Emerald Dagger for his work on updating our possession system, and although he has now moved on to Deputy Grand Master, he still has a hand in credit distribution and has assisted Atra as he has learned the position.

Finally, Evant took over as Deputy Grand Master some four months ago during a period of transition for our Brotherhood, and right as we were planning a major event. On the eve of a Great Jedi War, Evant saw himself with a daunting situation of taking over and helping to finish the Great Jedi War. Evant responded well, helping to run the event and leading several competitions. This Great Jedi War saw thousands of entries from more than 150 members, and was a success in no small part due to the efforts of our Deputy Grand Master. In his new role as DGM, Evant helped direct, edit, and brainstorm both the fiction and much of the War plot and Theaters. He directly handled the Clan Run-On and Co-Op competitions, and also checked over the score calculations and other important administrative activities. In sum, his contributions were invaluable to this War, as were his past efforts in RoS Meridian and GJW XII.

For these reasons, I am pleased to elevate Evant to the rank of Dark Jedi Master!

Telaris "Mav" Cantor, 2019-09-24 20:58:06 UTC
Additional reasons

Only 49 members of the Dark Brotherhood have made it to the rank of EL2 or higher. Those members, without exception, have all contributed to the Dark Brotherhood's success. They are dedicated, loyal, and prone to do what is best for our club. Our Deputy Grand Master, Evant Taelyan, is one of those members.

In the past four years Evant has served as our Voice, our Regent, and now our Deputy Grand Master. He has led successful reforms and projects in each of those positions and became our first leader to successfully design and implement a possessions system. Evant's initiative combined with his ability to execute tasks makes him a rare member in our club's history.

Equally important to Evant's work on projects and club reform is his ability to maintain a positive atmosphere in the club. He has risen above petty arguments and maintains an excellent repertoire with members and leaders alike. This aspect of his time serving on our Dark Council should not be understated and should be lauded as the standard.

Evant, congrats on your promotion. We look forward to seeing what you can do for our club next.

Aurora “Aura” Ta’var, or Blade, has served as a leader in Clan Odan-Urr as Proconsul for a year, and the past 8 months as Consul. Where she has overseen multiple large scale competitions, organized a plan to restructure the Clan and participated in hundreds of competitions leading by example.

As Consul, she has run the Tipping Point event providing a great opportunity for members of the Clan and a great experience that progressed the Clan plot, as well as a collaborative event with Arcona that benefitted both Clans. As well as a review of the Clan structure that she communicated out and executed.

As well since her last promotion, she earned an AK for her great work as a Magistrate to the Grand Master and her work, as well as her work as a Proconsul.

For all Blade’s great work as a leader in Clan Odan-Urr and her efforts to benefit the entire Brotherhood supporting the Grand Master I recommend her for promotion to Equite 4. Congratulations.

Kordath Bleu has been a consistent contributor to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood since he joined over six years ago. Joining and completing requirements for Knight and then taking advantage of opportunities and succeeding in a range of roles, all the way up to Consul of Arcona where he served for a year and a half across two vendettas leading the Clan to success. His career has been one that can serve as a model for members who want to give back in what ways they can to our community and improve the experience of all members he interacts with.

Since his promotion to the last of the Equite ranks, Kord has organized over 100 competitions, and participated in 345 of them, but has organized over 200 and participated in 830 of them since joining. He has consistently stayed active and created opportunities since he joined as a member and leader in Arcona. While spending time as an ACC Judge, as well as a Magistrate for the MAA as well as a Magistrate to the Voice.

His time as a leader has been a great accomplishment that has given a lot back to the club for his time. Finding his first success as a BTL in Arcona, before eventually being appointed a Rollmaster for over a year, then becoming an Aedile of House Galeres for 4 months, then Quaestor for 5 months, then Proconsul for 5 months before becoming Consul of Arcona for the past 19 months. Kord took on opportunities to be a leader when presented, and stepped up, and was ready to take the next step. It’s hard for any one person to fully appreciate a full 6 years of someone’s DJB career but from reading countless reports from his time as a leader, and most recently his time as a Consul, Kord strived to create a community and experience for members that could easily serve as a model for others Clans.

Focusing on his time as Consul as the prime review for promotion, he created the opportunity for members to do world-building with the Selen Development Project, always giving fictional direction and engagement in the DJB story. He organized many different puzzles and other simple competitions to keep members engaged. He oversaw the Clan as they had a cooperative event with Clan Odan-Urr. He ran a Sins of the Past competition series, as well as balancing the books and a Valentines set of competitions. He was the Consul of Arcona through the Rite of Supremacy where they placed Second as a Clan, and through the recent Great Jedi War where Arcona was named as First Clan under his leadership and guidance.

Elder is a rank that there is no clear path to. It’s for members who have a demonstrated contribution to the club that sets them above the rest and the community and experiences of other members is enhanced by their contributions. Kord has shown an of consistency for 6 years, and leadership at every level of Clan leadership along the way, and participating in multiple other DC offices and active participant in various leadership chats giving his opinion and advise on anything asked, while participating at a high level to lead by example for all other members. For all this, and based on my review, I recommend Kord for a promotion to Dark Adept. Congratulations.

A promotion request for a member who has not been promoted for nine years or awarded in seven years is a tricky task. It is tricky because the last award and promotion predate our current database and because we don't have very many examples of members returning to high levels of activity after such long gaps in recognition.

I'm happy to say, tricky as it may be, Kano is well deserving of the time and effort to craft this recommendation. Since joining Vizsla, Kano has been an integral part of our team. He is a valuable contributor to our Clan Chat on Telegram, our future Clan Proposals, and our Clan's vibrant and expensive COSPLAY tastes.

Kano also showed up when the Clan needed him the most. The GJW. Kano was a max bin participant. He earned a Silver Nova for his amazing DJB Burned Wood Art (Robbed of that Gold Nova if you ask his biased Consul) and a Bronze nova for his great contributions to our Clan run on.

Beyond the incredible individual effort/motivation of others during the war, Kano has also participated in 30 competitions since his last recognition, written nearly 4800 words of fiction, take 19 Shadow Academy Courses, earned 2 Degrees, and participated in 3 x ACC Battles. Kano has also earned 2 x CR with Amethyst Star, 2 x CR with Sapphire Star, 2 Clusters of Fire, 9 Clusters of Ice, 8 Clusters of Graphite, 1 x Seal of Loyalty, and 12 Seals of Discord.

Kano's recent art and dedication to the club has also led to his selection on 16 SEP as Magistrate to the Herald. This selection was in large part due to his skillful art (wait til you see my blasters), but more importantly, his desire to help the club.

Kano, congrats on your promotion. We appreciate all you do for Vizsla and the DJB.

Waggleorn has earned 1 x Steel Cross, 1 x Dark Cross, 2 x CR with Amethyst Star, 1 x Crescent with Sapphire Star, 2 x Crescent with Emerald Star, 1 x Crescent with Topaz Star, 136 Clusters of Fire, 13 x Clusters of Ice, 29 Clusters of Earth, 26 Clusters of Graphite, 1 x Seal of Loyalty, 7 x Seals of Wrath, 12 x Seals of Fury, and 4 x Seals of Discord.

Hector also spent over 11 months as a BTL since his last promotion. The bulk of that time was spent in CNS where he was the driving force behind Shar Dakhan's fleet reset prior to his transfer to Vizsla. His proposal was approved in full and is in use within CNS.

Beyond the stats, Hector is a steady presence in our Telegram channels where he helps others and is a great community member for our new Clan.

Privateer Zed has not been promoted in over four years and has not received a merit award of any type in three years. In that time he has participated in 29 competitions, organized 3, graded 80 Shadow Academy Courses, taken two Shadow Academy Courses, and earned one degree.

Zed has also earned two Silver Nova, 2 x CR with Ruby Star, 8 x Pendants of Blood, 725 Clusters of fire, 1300 Clusters of Earn, 10 Scrolls of Foundation, 2 x Seals of Fury, and 9 x Seals of Discord. Zed also spent a combined 5 months between his time as a Shadow Academy Professor and as Magistrate to the Fist.

Beyond the statistics, Zed was also an instrumental player in the creation of Clan Vizsla. He was a plank-holder who participated in creation of our initial vision, proposal, and policies and procedures. Zed's involvement dates back to before we even had a name for the Clan, something that he helped us settle upon.

Beyond his work in helping create the first new Clan in the DB in over 6 years, Zed is also a constant presence in our Telegram Channels and is a open and helpful member to the rest of his Clan. Zed also brings the DB into greater gaming communities and has helped organized many DB first activities in Destiny 2. This includes helping DJB members get activity in Destiny as well as organizing pure DB clears of never before accomplished Strikes and Raids.

All this work over the past three years makes this promotion overdue and well deserved. Congrats Zed.

Primary reason

Archenksov has completed a successful full year as Consul of Odan-Urr after transitioning from the Proconsul role before transitioning to what is going on eight months as Combat Master since his last promotion. He has been an exemplary leader in every role he has taken on. He is a great communicator who has a vision that he shares, inspiring others towards his approach and doing so with commitment. Capable of making decisions that need to be made and standing by them to drive things forward from day to day. It’s been a pleasure working with him in the capacities I’ve had the pleasure and look forward to having him be part of any team. For much of this work as a Consul he has earned a Ruby Scepter last October as well as an Anteian Cross for his work on the Creatures project for possessions.

As Combat Master, he showed his willingness to make decisions and commit with refinements to improve things for members who interact with the CS system. Properly communicating with the membership taking questions and discussing challenging elements of the system like time outs, creating conflict, how to handle possessions items like armor and inappropriate content, Then working out loadout changes to remove ambiguity between possessions and the ACC and sharing updates with membership. He clearly has a vision of what the ACC should be and listens to members to make it as enjoyable as possible for as many people as he can.

To create content for members, he has organized or helped in running 37 different competitions as part of larger series, a five-week long puzzle competition series for the entire Brotherhood, a range of competitions during a cooperative event between Clan Arcona and Clan Odan-Urr exploring the Collective faction, a set of light competitions for Clan-Odan Urr to develop their assets and a large scale competition for Odan-Urr focused on the Clan storyline. Focusing on large sets of well-organized content for members.

While organizing, he also participated in an incredible 258 different competitions, while earning during that time 111 crescents and 11 Novas. This included many different puzzles and trivia competitions, as well as gaming, poetry, run-ons and other covering every activity type in the club.

For all the successful demonstration of leadership, as well as a highly productive and active member of the community, I strongly recommend Archenksov for promotion to Equite 4. Congratulations.

Lord Evio Nezsa, 2019-09-19 02:09:37 UTC
Additional reasons

Combat Master is not an easy job. You’re usually stuck between a rock (Grand Master) and a hard place (member wants and expectations). Fortunately, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside our newest Combat Master—Arch— as he stepped up to fill the role. This was not the first time we worked together, of course, as our journey together started long ago when I was serving as CM. At the time, he called out my lack of punctuation in my bullet points on the newspost that was calling for ACC Judge applications. Since then, I’ve watched him say [adorable] things like “I’ll never be a house leader”, “I’ll never be a Consul”, and “I’ll never be CM”.

Heh.

Fast forward to the present, and I’m honored to be adding my voice of support to his elevation to Equite 4 for the following reasons:

Before he stepped up into the role of Combat Master, Archenskov served dutifily as Consul of Clan Odan-Urr—making a concentrated effort to work with the Dark Council to improve relations between club level leadership and the members. Any time I asked for advice, input, or feedback on Voice-related Fiction, Arch was always quick to get back to me and respond to my queries. He did this with a level of poise and rationality that set the bar and example for how to be agreeable and work for the betterment of the club and the membership, even if you didn’t always exactly agree with what the club leadership was doing. This willingness to help and empower others while speaking up for what you believe is the hallmark that sets leaders and regular members apart in my eyes, and Arch has done this time after time while setting a living example for not just his members, but for his summit and other Dark Summit members as well.

As Combat Master, Arch wasted no time in picking up where he left off when he previously served as a judge. He immediately set to work on auditing existing documentation with a direct plan to clean up ACC Venues, clarify sections of the ACC Guidelines, and improve the wording on the ACC rubric to work more for both the Judges and members reading those judgements. He quickly focused on trying ways to improve the judging process by implementing a ‘rule of two” to help increase cohesion and consistency with grading between different Judges.

He has overseen a judging team and taking part in qualifying 22 new members into the ACC platform. This not only covers new members, but also returning veterans, and does not account for the time and attention to reviewing and providing feedback for members that needed extra boosts to pass their exam on the second or even third try. As with his process as Consul, his professionalism and poise have been boons to the ACC’s image among members that have, historically, avoided the platform entirely. These conversions are key to the future of the ACC, and Arch’s attention has no doubt helped fuel this. To date, he has overseen the same staff of judges that have completed grading on 39 ACC matches.

Part of those matches included the grading of the club-wide Spring 2019 ACC Championship. To accomplish this, Arch used a data pool of members that had shown interest or activity in the ACC and personally recruited the 32 members to participate in the bracket. Beyond that, he made sure that matches were graded between rounds in an extremely timely manner to keep things moving and to beat the deadline/impetus of a looming Great Jedi War. This tournament would not have been successful without his careful planning, attention to detail, and most importantly his execution.

As an admin, Arch has made a number of quality of life updates to the Character Sheet system. Most notably, he went through the Wikipedia documentation for Force Powers and annotated (with hyperlinks!) what Feats apply/tie to the respective Force Power in the description boxes of the template. This has made it much more efficient for even someone like me that knows most of the Feats off the top of his head since coming up the bulk of them. This is just another example of establishing easy to access documentation and quicker reference for members using the CS documentation to write their ACC matches and other fiction related activities. His monthly reports have all been full of changelogs of things that have changed, tips for the ACC, and other helpful communications that are integral to keeping members up to date and engaged with the platform. He also was key in helping identify poisonous/venomous creatures in the new Creatures system and aided with getting their descriptions coded and written up.

I can’t think of many members that I’ve served alongside that have so readily deserved this honor, so congratulations, my friend, and I know there’s a million things you haven’t done, so just you wait....

Voice of the Brotherhood

Legend Wally, 2019-09-18 14:58:46 UTC

Arch is one of the people who is well known in COU. While I can't speak to his work as Combat Master, or his numbers in events, I can say that since he was Consul he has been nonstop in his work to improve the Clan, and assist its members. This has been accomplished in numerous ways, from offering advice on how to handle different leadership positions, to helping with proof reading for various competitions, to cheering people on and putting out reminders of competitions for people to participate in. I believe for all of his work he deserves this promotion to Equite 4.

Padawan Tisto Kingang, 2019-09-18 18:18:37 UTC

Archenksov has been a steady rock for Odan-Urr for some time, both in terms of leadership and activity. Much has been said for his leadership of the Clan but as his Proconsul I’d like to add that he was wonderful to work with for several reasons. As a workmate, he was always willing to lead from the front and put forth just as much effort as the rest of us. As a mentor, he showed me what it meant to be a Consul in today’s DB, lessons I still carry with me to this day. As a clanmate, he was always there to lend a helping hand, even when he was tired or the train tried to kill him 3x in one day. I really appreciated it and so did the rest of the Clan. In terms of positions, he has served as Shadow Academy Docent, Combat Master, Consul, Appeals Panelist, ACC Judge, and Proconsul at some point during his last promotion and now.

In terms of activity, Arch has completed 258 competitions, 5 PvP matches, 18 PvE matches, 1 ACC battle, 12 ACC battles judged, 11 Fiction Activities worth 13,924 words, 5 Run On posts worth 2,840 words, 6 SA courses, 1 SA degree, 11 SA courses graded, 19 news posts, and 65 news post comments. During that stretch he acquired the following: 1 Ruby Scepter, 1 Anteian Cross, 4 Gold Nova, 4 Silver Nova, 3 Bronze Nova, 4 Crescents with Diamond Star, 26 Crescents with Ruby Star, 34 Crescents with Amethyst Star, 43 Crescents with Sapphire Star, 2 Crescents with Emerald Star, 2 Crescents with Topaz Star, 4 Pendants of Blood, 182 Clusters of Fire, 36 Clusters of Ice, 24 Clusters of Earth, 42 Clusters of Graphite, 1 Dark Side Scroll, 8 Scrolls of Foundation, 10 Legion of Scholar, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 15 Seals of Wrath, 17 Seals of Fury, and 11 Seals of Discord.

I’m incredibly proud to have served Odan-Urr with him and it is my honor to recommend that he be promoted to Equite 4! Congratulations my friend, Odan-Urr wouldn’t be the same without you. In the words of Dr. Frank N. Furter, “A toast.”

Hard to exactly say where I should begin with Arch. In the time I've been here in the DJB, Arch has been a great help to me when I needed it. They showed to me that they were great for leadership, as well even at times reached out to encourage me to try applying for roles in the past. When I first showed interest in a position of either BT, AED, or QUA, Arch immediately privately messaged me and encouraged me, saying that they believed I'd be good at it. Yet that doesn't even begin to mount to the number of accomplishments that Arch has done over the years. I feel if I were to try and put all of that into words, I'd be doing them a bit of a disservice for the amount of dedication they've put into not only this clan but to this club.

While that part has yet to be seen, Arch, you've been a great inspiration and I can say that in the time I've been here in the DJB, you're certainly one of the ones who've not only made it entertaining but also like there was a good semblance of second family. Here to you, the best birb.
