Fiveten, you continue to impress. You're growing more competent each day and you will surely rival the Council when the time is right. You have met the requirements for promotion, and a recommendation has been filed.
I will continue to watch your progress, Fiveten, but my direct intervention in your promotions must come to an end.
You will go far within this Brotherhood.
May the Force guide you, Journeyman,

Val was a Journeyman when we crossed paths in Arcona in ‘11 or ‘12 and as his QUA, I watched him fly through the Equites and eventually land the open spot for my Aedile, which ironically a “Vynn Salm” had also applied for. Sorry not sorry Korvis!
Valhavoc is anything but a havoc, and is one of the most easy-going, friendly, and mild-tempered people that I’ve ever met. He was the bestest Aedile I could have asked for. He was meant to be QUA when I went to the DC, but a mere four days after he moved up he left for the DC too. A little sus. While Arc had to give him away, I read a rec somewhere that the DC gained a “best friend.” I have no context for it, but I believe it. He is a joy to be around even a decade later.
Our fellow leaders and retirees attached can speak far better than I on his Fist term (them having been you know, Fist), so here are some stats since last promotion. Buckle up, we are going for a ride.
Val has organized 94 competitions, co-organized 24, and participated in 502 (13 gfx! ❤️). 71 were gaming comps, but that’s a given. 8 legacy PvP matches, 393 gaming activities. 7 fictions and 2 Run-Ons. He flunked the SA with only 2 passed courses but graded 51!
Before we get into the awards and clusters let’s troll through his positions since last promotion:
Fist 9 months, Prof 9 months, Star Chamber member 1 year (was he their BFF also?), Magistrate to the GM 2 years, Docent for 11 months and Proconsul for 10 months. Most of those roles overlapped except for Proconsul—I imagine founding a brand new clan required a significant amount of time and effort.
Crescents: 5 Diamond, 41 Ruby, 64 Amethyst, 21 Sapphire, 11 Emerald, 3 Topaz, 1 Quartz.
Clusters: 46 graphite (woo!), 14 Ice, and… 5421 CFs. NBD. And the one that is no longer obtainable and makes us all jealous: 14 Pendants of Blood.
Seals: 7 Wrath, 15 Fury, 24 Discord, 16 Visions, 8 Enimity, 3 Ascension, and 10 Transcendence. That is 7 vendettas since last promotion, which also includes 2 Gold Novae for 1st place, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze.
Through all of these years of remarkable and selfless work for the Brotherhood, he earned himself a Silver Sash, 1 Ruby Scepter, 3 Sapphire Blades, 1 Grand Cross, 2 Steel Cross, 1 Anteian Cross and … no Dark Crosses? I guess you can’t win everything.
And the obligatory stat for a founding member of Vizsla is 1189230 credits earned for the clan.
While "Valhavoc has reached the required 167500 XP to reach the rank of Elder 2," let us not forget his major contributions to our little corner of the internet. He has earned this promotion through hard work and a whole sh*tload of gaming. I feel privileged to be allowed to write this recommendation for Valhavoc and to call him my friend.

333k xp at his current rank. That’s more Xp than most members in our club. Glenn has done it all in the DB. Dark Council, Clan Summit, plank holder of creating a Clan, gaming extraordinaire, and an all around awesome human being.
Congrats Buddy.

I never thought I’d have the chance to write a recommendation for the very first Fist I ever worked for. Valhavoc built many of the core elements of gaming in the Brotherhood, and I was lucky enough to work with him during their implementation. He guided newer members and gave many people their first shot at a Magistrate position. Even to this day, he continues to contribute by helping add new modes, providing insight on changes, and giving feedback to his Clan and Summit.
Congratulations, Val, and thank you for everything.
Fist Uji Tameike, 2024-05-21 00:07:30 UTC
It is the nature of the Fist position to have to adapt to change; gamers are a mercurial bunch and gaming industry trends are always a moving target. In this aspect Valhavoc set the bar high, so high in fact that I do not exaggerate when I say Val established modern gaming in the Brotherhood. As the current Fist I am standing on the shoulders of giants and Valhavoc stands the tallest. Whether it was embracing PVE through platform adoptions and the creation of the Cluster of Earth at a time when a not insignificant portion of the member base felt member vs member pvp was the only “true” gaming activity or revamping the GMRG to be more accessible with long term engagement through the leaderboard and council accessories, I am still working within the framework Val created nearly a decade after he left office.
While I may be replacing the Cluster of Earth and the GMRG Leaderboard because times have changed, it is in no way a refutation of the foundation Val set for gaming. On the contrary, it’s to his credit that those systems lasted as long as they have in something as rapidly changing as the gaming industry and our club culture. I am still building on the foundation Valhavoc created. On behalf of the Fist office and the gaming community, thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do. Your elevation within the Elder ranks is a small but very overdue recognition of the path your blazed for subsequent Fists to follow. I only hope that when my time is done, that I would be found to be half the Fist that you were.
Councillor Turel Sorenn, 2024-05-21 15:31:33 UTC
There is no gaming system in the club that Val has not influenced in some way. Val revolutionized the way gaming works in this club, and every single gamer and Fist that followed him in position owes him a debt.
This promotion is long, LONG overdue.
From one former Fist to another, congratulations!

Ta'xi has been a pretty regular fixture amongst the gaming community, bringing along with him some good ol' fashioned DEMOCRACY and alien bug murder. On top of his stellar attitude and tendency to try to make friends with everyone, Ta'xi has been bulldozing through his activity since his last promotion late last year.
In that time he has completed 42 competitions (33 if you're not counting containers), 31 of which were gaming activities. He has amassed a grand total of 838 clusters of fire and five clusters of ice. He has added to his collection 1 Diamond Crescent, 2 Ruby Crescents, 1 Sapphire Crescent, 1 Emerald Crescent, and 1 Topaz Crescent. He's also had several rank ups in the societies, including rocketing himself into Rank NINE of the GMRG.
Thank you, Ta'xi, for everything you do for the Clan and the lighthearted attitude you bring to our Gaming community. We appreciate you. Welcome to the Equites.

What can I say about Ta’xi? They’re the kind of member who takes self sufficiency to a new level perhaps? Ta’xi is the kind of member who’ll quietly do stuff they are interested in doing and as a leader, you’ll only really notice what they’re up to when the system prods you to reward them for it. I’ll leave it to Siv to detail all the specific things Ta’xi has done to merit this promotion and simply state that he’s consistently active and always around and willing to game with his peers. A true credit to his House and Clan.
Congratulations on the promotion into the Equite tier Ta’xi!

Augur Windos has reached the required 167500 XP to reach the rank of Elder 2.
Didn't we just do this?!?!
Windos my boy, ya did it again!!!
One of the founding fathers of Clan Odan-Urr, Windos is another pillar of the Clan. Pouring blood, sweat, and tears into this Club, I have always known him to do what’s best for the Club and his Clan. I’ve known him for 15+ years and it’s truly an honor to put this recommendation through for him. Having been away for awhile, upon his return, he hit the ground running and jumped right back in where he left off. Becoming, again, one of the more active members we have in the Clan. Since his last promotion, Windos has done the following.
*Organized 49 competitions and co-organized 11
*Participated in 419 competitions
*Completed 4 ACC Battles
*Written 64 news posts
*Served as Headmaster for 7 months at his current rank
*Served as a Wiki Staff member for over 3 years at his current rank
*Served as a Docent for over 2 years at his current rank
*Served as a Recruitment Tribune for 5 months at his current rank
*Served as an Aedile for 2 months at his current rank
*Served as Quaestor for 1 month at his current rank
He also earned 1 Silver Sash, 1 Emerald Dagger, 1 Sapphire Blade, 1 Grand Cross, 1 Steel Cross, 3 Anteian Crosses, 5 Dark Crosses, 8 Crescent with Diamond Stars, 2 Crescent with Ruby Stars, 13 Crescent with Amethyst Stars, 16 Crescent with Sapphire Stars, 9 Crescent with Emerald Stars, 2 Crescent with Topaz Stars, 1 Crescent with Quartz Star, 6 Pendants of Blood, 142 Clusters of Fire, 11 Clusters of Ice, 512 Clusters of Earth, 39 Clusters of Graphite, 19 Scroll of Foundation, 2 Seals of Loyalty, 34 Seals of the Crusader, 4 Seals of Revelation, and 3 Seals of Ascension.
Windos is a dedicated member and leader and I’m so happy to see him stepping into the upper echelon of this organization. He more than deserves it for his hard work and dedication.

I don't think I can say there's been a day yet where Windos hasn't participated in at least one if not more competitions. Always abuzz, Windos has been consistent, energetic, and prolific in his domination of all forms of competitions throughout both the Brotherhood and Clan levels.
Another often unsung hero of the Clan, Windos is quiet, but dedicated, popping by the Discord to share his latest creations or talk gaming before disappearing into the ether once more to absolutely destroy the competition board. His sporadic visits a reminder of the good humor and interesting person behind Dossier.
This promotion is well earned, Windos, with your constant activity and dedication to the Clan. I look forward to where you'll climb from here, but knowing where you've been already, I know it won't be long before you reach your next checkpoint.
High Councillor Wolfe, 2024-05-21 22:37:25 UTC
While Windos and I have technically overlapped in COU by several years, he had really settled into a quiet retirement by the time I started stomping around and I had left for the DC by the time he made his glorious return. So this is a weird recommendation, because on the one hand I barely know him, but on the other, I've often found myself trying to pick up from where he left off. My first unit was one that he had been running just a few months earlier, Satele Shan, which he co-created with Ji. My first leadership position was as Shan's AED, a position Windos inaugurated.
More to the point, I'm currently in charge of the Shadow Academy and the Wiki, two things that Windos oversaw more than a decade ago. There are many years and a lot of hard work by HMs, T:Ws, and their staff separating his terms and mine. The SA society has been redone three times, there's been at least one full course catalogue audit, and major changes to the structure of the catalogue and staff. And yet, when we deployed the first course with embedded video just last year, that wasn't my idea. That's something that Windos wrote up in 2013 or maybe 2012, that James coded into the current SA per his specifications, but that sat unused for a decade waiting for someone to run with it. That one stands out, but most of the framework and infrastructure of the SA still comes down to what Windos and James worked out back then. That includes the very basic things but also the stuff people tend not to think about, like the settings we use to turn SA courses into GJW trivia comps.
The Wiki is the product of a few more hands; if I see some beautifully complex, ancient template, it's only sometimes Windos' doing. However, I found myself hitting him up recently as the last person to do widespread changes using a bot, a feature that was sorely missed. Even though MediaWiki has completely overhauled how that works, rendering his old system irrelevant and unusable, Windos cheerfully pointed me in the direction of a tool that I can use to do the same thing.
It's normal for sacs and EL promos to talk about "lasting impact," but rare to actually see that in recommendations. To some degree, it's not even possible except in cases, like this one, in which recognition is years overdue. So I want to make sure it's in writing this time. I like to think I'm a pretty good and impactful HM, but it's humbling to think that five HMs or ten years in the future, our HM is more likely to be relying on Windos' work than mine. It is criminal that he's not an elder already.

Jafits Skrumm has reached the required 85000 XP to reach the rank of Elder 1.
If someone were to ask me who the most dominant member of Clan Odan-Urr was. Without hesitation I would say Jafits Skrumm. The man is a monster but remains humble. I have known him for so long and while he’s always been a man of few words, he’s a man that churns out results and always comes through when we need him. If you’re looking for a shining example of what activity in this club should look like. Jafits fits the mold.
To put it into perspective, since his last promotion he has earned the following.
- Participated in a whopping 587 competitions
- Written over 3k words of fiction - even though he truly shines in the gaming department
And earned the following awards for his stellar gaming and competition participation. 1 Ruby Scepter, 1 Amethyst Kukri, 3 Sapphire Blades, 1 Grand Cross, 1 Anteian Cross, 2 Silver Nova, 6 Bronze Nova, 31 Crescent with Diamond Stars, 62 Crescent with Ruby Stars, 83 Crescent with Amethyst Stars, 59 Crescent with Sapphire Stars, 29 Crescent with Emerald Stars, 6 Crescent with Topaz Stars, 6 Crescent with Quartz Stars, 10 Pendants of Blood, 1474 Clusters of Fire, 11 Clusters of Ice, 5031 Clusters of Earth, 376 Clusters of Graphite, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 22 Seals of Enmity, 11 Seals of Ascension, and 19 Seals of Transcendence.
Thank you for all that you do Jafits. You have fun and that’s truly what matters. You do you and keep making the boss proud. Well done, my friend.

If I were to have to describe Jafits in the time I've been Proconsul, I'd tell you that he's the pulse of Clan Odan-Urr. Quiet, steady, and strong. A routine name among competitions, activity logs, and top placements toward our ongoing Scimitar of Lord Hoth series, I've yet to see a timeframe where they haven't left a mark.
Knowing your history throughout The Brotherhood, as well, it's clear to see that this has always been the case. This is a reward long deserved for someone with a history like yours, Jafits, and I'm glad to have been here to see you get your dues.
High Councillor Wolfe, 2024-05-21 00:32:58 UTC
Jscumm was, if memory serves, the first positioned leader to welcome me Odan-Urr, and my first BTL at any rate. This was on IRC, if this gives you any indication of how long ago that was. What's really remarkable, though, is how Jafits has been consistently chugging along since then, without any interruption that I'm aware of. He's quiet and that makes him easy to overlook, but if day to day activity is the lifeblood of the club, that makes him the heart of Odan-Urr.

Essik Lyccane has reached the required 85000 XP to reach the rank of Elder 1.
Have you ever heard the tale of Essik, the machine? It’s not a story the Sith would have told you. All joking aside, one of the pillars of Clan Odan-Urr is Essik Lyccane. From his seemingly endless work on wiki articles, to his spectacular fiction writing, my friend here is probably one of the best friends I have made in the Brotherhood. He selflessly does so much for this Clan and genuinely wants what’s best for it. In fact, I can say with honesty, this Clan wouldn’t be the same without him in it.
I’ve known him for quite some time and I’ve always looked up to him as a role model in that, while he may rarely, if ever, stray from his Clan’s chat. He has been one of the most active members I think I have ever seen. Just to name a few of his accomplishments. Since his last promotion. Essik has earned the following.
- Organized 25 competitions and co-organized 2
- Participated in a whopping 427 competitions
- Written over 69,000 words of fiction
- Written 9 reports
- Served as and Aedile for 5 months and Quaestor for 11 months
He has also earned the following awards for his hard work and dedication. 1 Ruby Scepter, 1 Amethyst Kukri, 2 Sapphire Blades, 1 Grand Cross, 1 Steel Cross, 1 Dark Cross, 1 Anteian Cross, 1 Bronze Nova, 15 Crescent with Diamond Stars, 121 Crescent with Ruby Stars, 69 Crescent with Amethyst Stars, 33 Crescent with Sapphire Stars, 16 Crescent with Emerald Stars, 4 Crescent with Topaz Stars, 3 Crescent with Quartz Stars, 7 Clusters of Fire, 157 Clusters of Ice, 117 Clusters of Earth, 177 Clusters of Graphite, 9 Dark Side Scrolls, 1 Scroll of Foundation for mentoring Elyon de Neverse, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 23 Seals of Ascension, and 14 Seals of Transcendence.
Essik is the epitome of hard work pays off. He has diligently worked for his Clan, most of the time, behind the curtain. This alone speaks for his personality as he doesn’t seek praise or personal reward. With a true servant mentality, his true desire is Odan-Urr. For always being their to talk to, to vent to, and to get advice. Thank you Essik. Not just as your Consul. But as your friend. I know that I can always count on you and I’m grateful to have you as a member. We appreciate you and hope that you have many more years left in you.

A storied name with a knack for shooting straight and getting to the point, Essik or Tarvitz, has been a fixture around The Brotherhood for years. A year my senior and sounding board during my first year in the DB (bet ya didn't remember, did you? Took me a while too.) about the woes of Time Served in position, despite having done all of the required metrics aside from sitting on our hands. In my time returned to Odan-Urr Tarvitz has been a collaborator and compass, helping me navigate some of the trickier aspects of projects and just fitting the pieces back into COU.
With so many moving pieces, creations, historical details, and Wiki Articles of Odan-Urr's tied to your name, it feels only just for you to have earned this, if a bit overdue.
High Councillor Wolfe, 2024-05-21 01:23:51 UTC
The point of a wiki is for people to use it, obviously. Not just for reference but to improve it and erase the distinction between user and administrator. However, in practice, that's not usually how it plays out. Most members, if they're making edits at all, limit their work to their own characters and units.
Essik's promotions and awards have often mentioned his wiki contributions over the years, perhaps to the point where they've settled into background noise. That does him a disservice. While wiki work isn't literally thankless, as his pile of Dark Side Scrolls will attest, it does come close at times. Most unit pages are out of date. Many if not most Council-maintained pages are as well. Auditing and improving that content is the sort of task that's on every leader's to-do list, but always under a dozen other items that are more urgent, more impactful, or frankly just more enjoyable or rewarding. Thus it's not surprising that we can count the number of members who've consistently attempted to improve pages they're not personally responsible for on one or two hands, at least for the last several years. Essik is one of them. I may, by doing hundreds of identical mass edits, surpassed his edit count this year. May, as in I would have to check, because I can't assume marking 200 unused images for deletion would be enough.
Some of Essik's work occurred on the wiki staff or as a summit member. Much of it did not, because his contributions were never reliant on tasking from a boss. They represent true volunteerism and a long-running effort to make a club resource better for everybody. We owe him our thanks.

Bentre, Benny, aka The Chaos Duck, did not let getting elder slow him down. He continued to make meaningful contributions to the club and set an example for others to follow. I had the honor of having Bentre as my Praetor until real life claimed him (as it does with so many of us). He brought a calm, professional demeanor to all aspects of his service and his thoughtful council as a veteran leader and gamer in the club was something that I greatly valued and helped the early days of my Fist term.
Bentre provided direct input to 4 new gaming platforms, adjustment to cluster values, a change to in-game guild policies, casual queue policies and getting the Rites of Combat updated for GJW XVI. Additionally, while it was not his primary duty he still managed to personally review 135 gaming submissions providing timely and accurate support to 73 unique members. The Fist office and the gaming community as a whole benefitted from Bentre’s wisdom and dedication.
For setting a high example for other Elders to follow he has more than earned his elevation to Master. QUACK!
Councillor Turel Sorenn, 2024-05-20 16:41:14 UTC
Adept Bentre Sadow, aka The Chaos Duck, Drake Mallard the harbinger of heroism and just good ol’ Benny. There is so much to be said about this guy and the dedication he has given not only to Clan Naga Sadow, but to the Club as well. Bentre’s impact on the Brotherhood will be covered for certain. However, I would like to point out, making it to the Elder rank is one accomplishment, progressing through them is a whole other path to challenge oneself with. Bentre has done just that, I would go as far as saying when one asks what an Elder or a leader of the Club would look like, Bentre would be in that picture.
Since his last promotion, Bentre has put together one hundred and thirty comps and co-organized seven more comps for members to partake in. When he was not organizing fun filled activities Bentre participated in three hundred and eighty one competitions. Which has earned himself quite the buffet of accolades which include one Emerald Dagger, four Sapphire Blades, one Anteian Cross and three Gold Nova’s. He also snagged one hundred and sixty one Crescents, three PoB’s and a whopping eight thousand seven hundred and fifty eight clusters.
Oh it does not end there quite yet, to round out this steady flow of activity, Bentre has earned forty nine Scrolls of Foundation, two Scrolls of Indoctrination, a Seal of Loyalty, twenty nine Seals of Ascension and six Seals of Transcendence.
Bentre since joining the Club has grinded through his career with milestone after milestone. Being a leader is just one of those milestones. Leading is just in his DNA, proven by all of his Summit time. Which includes four years as Consul alone. In the last several years there has not been a CNS member that has not been influenced by his mentorship and calming demeanor.
Bentre has worn many hats throughout this grind, in and out of the Clan he has done the work and put in the time. Taking on the responsibilities as a Magistrate and a Praetor along with being a member of the Wiki Tribune staff. Fortunately it does not stop there, the Adept is also an academic scholar as well as an esteemed Professor within the Shadow Academy. Now as a member of the Star Chamber he will be advising the Grand Master on Club matters.
It is with great pleasure to be a part of Bentre's ascension to Elder II. Congrats on this well earned promotion!!!!
Adept DarkHawk Sadow, 2024-05-20 19:13:04 UTC
Bentre has served the Brotherhood well, providing resources for others to utilise and acted as an example to follow.
He never asks for anything for himself, he is just here to have fun and ensure other people have fun.
Benny is more than deserving of Elder II. He has served at a House, Clan and Club level during his time here.
Howie, put the declined stamp away, you won't need it for this one. :P

Bentre has been on our radar for a little while now. He's been a solid and strong contributor to the gaming culture in CNS even as life has demanded more and more of his free time. He's been a solid advisor, with calm and collected thoughts and perspectives on how to handle anything that comes up, a steady hand to the point where he has been invited to stand on the Star Chamber. He's a pillar of the clan, a good friend to all, and is always willing to do whatever he can to help drive activity forward, even in his retirement.
Bentre is already a Master, and I am more than pleased to be a part of the process to have his status shown officially on his dossier.
Thank you for all that you have done, and for all that you will certainly do.

Strask Rurra'bek has been a whirlwind of activity since coming over to Naga Sadow. I have said it more than once, this is the type of guy that you would love to see everyone emulate. He has definitely taken up the mantle of being the resident CNS gaming master.
Strask has conquered one hundred and seventy six comps garnering over 4K in gaming XP. For his efforts he has also earned himself a Sapphire Blade, eighty four Crescents, one thousand and seventy two Clusters finished off by one Seal of Loyalty.
He has led several CNS’ers through many mission gambits of Helldiving, not to forget being a ace wingman in Squadrons. Gaming is not just Strask’s strong suit, as a side project Strask put together a new excel point tracker to tally up each member’s activity totals towards the Clan’s ongoing The Order of the Black Guard monthly competition. His willingness to help out Summit and Clan members goes without question.
The Clan is glad to have you and look forward to your further success! It is with great pleasure to announce that Strask has earned the required 23000 XP to reach the rank of Equite 3. Congratulations on your promotion, Strask!

Anyone who has dived with Strask knows he loves that game. That he's great at that game. And he is. The guy has carried more dead weight than a mack truck. But that's not what I take away from playing wtih him. He loves the game, but I think he loves the community just as much. When asked about 'what is best', be it weapons, loadout, strategy, the 'meta', tactics, he dismisses it and always seems to say "Take whatever you like and is fun for you."
This isn't a work. He genuinely believes that. Now that could be that he's just good enough to carry you even if you take something suboptimal, whihc is absolutely true, but I think it speaks more to his attitude. The guy just wants the people around him to have fun and not worry aboout the stress-inducing parts of it.
There's a lot of folks that don't get that part of gaming: that it's supposed to be fun, not stressful. he lets this carry over into other things he does, be it helping refine systems to make them all but self-executing using excel wizardry, or even just relaxing and hanging out in voice chat.
It's a great attitude to have, and it helps others want to show up and do things with him as a result. I've long said that leadership is action and not position, and Strask is a great example of what I mean. As such, he's continued to plug away at activities and has more than earned his next promotion in the equite ranks, a promotion that I am very happy to throw my words behind.
Thank you, Strask.

Since Val Skyg’s last promotion in 2020, they have participated in 42 competitions, completing 78 gaming activities and 2 fiction activities. During this time, they also completed 1 course in the Shadow Academy and earned 1 Grand Cross, 1 Steel Cross, 1 Anteian Cross, 2 Crescents with Ruby Star, 2 with Amethyst Star, 4 with Sapphire Star, 1 with Emerald Star, and 1 with Topaz Star, along with 1103 Clusters of Fire and 2 Clusters of Ice.
While I didn’t have the chance to know or work with Val Skyg, I look back at their activity and see someone who contributed significantly to Vizsla and its coffers—an admirable endeavor in and of itself. Thank you for what you did for Clan Vizsla, and congratulations on your promotion.
