Primary reason

People often speak of legends. They are seldom correct in their choice of words. The Dark Brotherhood is replete with outstanding members of great skill and achievement and though they are honored as such, few—very few—are indeed...Legendary.

In my time with the Brotherhood I have known but one.

When I first met him he was known as Sarin. Now he is known as Pravus. By either name he is a man who has served the Brotherhood with every action of his career. He has led. He has followed. He has guided. Sarin has always done so by setting the example both members and leaders should strive to emulate. And what better example to follow in one who has reached not only the summit of leadership within the club, but that of membership as well.

For my friend Sarin is not only a gifted leader, but a fierce and talented competitor. Most recently he has again set the standard for myself and many others in Clan Arcona. During the Arcona event Trials of Loyalty Sarin finished second overall in a Clan as rich in talented, competitive members as any in the Brotherhood. Through his efforts—efforts which forced me to significantly raise my own standards to even be competitive with him—Sarin single-handedly led our team to victory.

Now, on a club-wide scale, Sarin has once again led Arcona to an impressive victory in the Horizons Rite of Supremacy. His outstanding personal commitment to this event again inspired not only myself, but many other members to push themselves to their utmost. For the majority of us, this type of effort must be brought out. For Sarin, this is where he begins.

As a competitor, Sarin is effectively a one-man army. His personal scores often appearing more like a collective unit's effort rather than that of one man. But his competitive prowess is not what makes him what he is. It is more than that. It is by challenging us to match his impressive efforts in both quantity and quality of work that Sarin the member sets a standard as high as Sarin the leader.

Raising one's self alone to greatness does not a legend make. Anyone can do this. However, inspiring others by one's example and deeds, now that is truly Legendary.

– Raken, Deputy Grand Master.

I don’t feel I can follow truly Raken’s extremely well-written and inspirational exposition into Sarin’s efforts as a member of the Brotherhood. Instead, I will attempt to display how much Sarin means to Clan Arcona, the Arconan membership and the Arconan Summit.

Since Sarin joined Arcona in May 2011, he has been a bastion of activity. Most people think that Grand Masters sit back, relax, have a nice cocktail and watch as everyone else scurries around trying to achieve half of what they have in their long, fruitful careers. Who could blame them if they did? And some, quite rightly, do. Sarin, however, does not fall into that category. He is, for all intents and purposes, one of the most active individuals in Clan Arcona. And I’m not just saying that. Since joining Arcona, Sarin has contributed just over 2000 Clusters of Fire to Arcona’s total. This is a staggering figure. And what is more, he has done all this without being a primary gamer. No, he is still one of the most active all-round participants Arcona has to offer. Raken has already described his work in the previous recommendation, but suffice it to say that, whenever Sarin decides he wants to win, its almost a certainty that he will. And that victory is always for Arcona, not for himself. I could jabber on for hours about the minutiae of his success as an individual member, however, I feel it would not be conducive to his efforts as a whole.

Indeed, Sarin has stepped up to the plate to represent Arcona and even taken a position as an advisor on the summit. He has shrugged off any adversity, and has stepped up as one of the fundamental arbiters of Arcona’s continued success in leadership. Whenever anyone needs any help, any proof-reading, any guidance, Sarin is always the first to offer his services. Seldom do you find someone so willing and so patient than Sarin. Especially considering his previous accolades within the club. Still, he steps up, guiding the younger members, even at times when he himself is under pressure.

It states on the wikipedia that: “The recipient of a Sapphire Blade has shown consistent and long-term service to their Clan or Brotherhood position.” Sarin has done more than that. Sarin has contributed so significantly to Arcona that I feel the term ‘service’ doesn’t do him justice. He has provided more than a ‘service’ to Arcona. He has become part of the family. And I feel the only way we can truly award him for being so integral to Arcona’s success is by way of recognition and reward.

Thank you for doing what you do Sarin. You have no idea how much we appreciate it.

~Wuntila Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona.

There really isn’t anyone like Sarin. When he first came over to Arcona, after the closing of IHR, we were of course honored to have one of his esteemed reputation among our ranks. For a lot of the time he was here, from me being a simple Quaestor to then becoming a Proconsul, he was always there, looming like a dark protector. It seemed to happen over night, something strange and magical. This legendary Grand Master suddenly popped up on the radar. I watched him slowly step back into the spotlight, as if he had never left. It’s hard not to be intimidated by one of Sarin’s reputation. The first time he messaged me on IRC, I almost crapped my pants. Once you get past that perceived shroud of terror that seems to surround his name, he is actually one of the coolest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with in the DB. He is thoughtful, respectful, is not afraid of anyone or anything and will always stand up for something he believes in. It’s truly inspirational seeing someone speak their mind so openly, but with poise and precision not just raw emotion. I’ve been fortunate to get to game, write, and work more closely with Sarin over the past few months, and I can say without doubt his influence on Arcona’s attitude in general has been monumental. He inspires those around him to arms, leading not just by example but by simple words. He has been invaluable to the development of Arcona by bringing in talent like Raken and Troutrooper, both dragged in from retirement. He has gifted us with Valhavoc, who has now been appointed a part of our Summit and one of Arcona’s brightest young stars. He has also brought in Montesor, another promising gamer who is helping aid in Arcona’s dominance. Sarin has become as much a part of Arcona as any of the other household names.

For this, and everything he has done and continues to do for the sake of others and for Clan Arcona, I honor him with my voice of support for a Sapphire Blade.

Primary reason

Celahir is a pillar of Arcona. He is, for all intents and purposes, one of the primary reasons for Arcona’s continued success, and I am honoured to be writing out a recommendation for him. Wally has taken the liberty of detailing in great detail what Celahir has achieved over the years in Arcona. Consider this a preamble.

I remember Celahir’s first words when I joined the Clan back in ‘09 as a lowly little DJK, “If you need any help, my door is always open.” And consult him for help I did. An awful lot. Celahir had recently been made Proconsul of Arcona, and the way he led was not necessarily a new way, but it was an effective way; he approached members in need of guidance, and always sought to help people, whatever their woes may have been. This may seem like an obvious thing, but it is often forgotten in the grand scheme of Brotherhood’s hierarchy and bureaucracy. I like to think of Celahir as an innocent within such a political picture. He is only in it for the people. That’s all for which he’s ever been in the leadership game. To help others, not himself. It was this caring mentality that brought him the position of Consul on the back end of Dash’s two-year tenure. And it was this caring mentality that helped him succeed in such a role. He revolutionised Arcona, and set the foundation of what Arcona is today. He was the beginning of the new, revitalised, reshaped Arcona, and I am not afraid to admit it. Through the struggle and strife of declanning, through the internal fractures and fissures, Celahir remained cool, calm and collected, rallying his troops behind the single banner of Arcona, and displaying a truly remarkable sense of guidance and authority in the face of chaos.

Since his tenure as Consul, he hasn’t forgotten his mantra. He still pops up to help the summit out, and he’s always offering his services in coding. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see as much of him as we’d like due to real life constraints, but when we do see him, he never ceases to amaze. Sapphire Blades are generally awarded for ‘long-term service to an individual’s Clan or Brotherhood position.’ Well, Celahir has given his all to Arcona for two years. He has displayed an unfathomable amount of talent, and has never wanted for reward. His ‘positions’ in Arcona have been many; from Aedile, to Quaestor, to Proconsu, to Consul, however I think his true ‘position’ in Arcona is that which I mentioned at the beginning. He is a pillar, an example to all, a representative of what one should expect from the first Clan of the Brotherhood. A first Clan sculpted by Celahir himself.

He strives only to help his peers, and in that, he outdoes the lot of us. In an official capacity, Celahir has more than displayed long-term service to his position and/or Clan. In an unofficial capacity he has done so much more.

Irfan, you’ve more than earned it. Thank you for being you.

Keep it up.

~Wuntila Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona.

I feel like this award is long, long overdue. It’s hard to bring the past to the fold as the Brotherhood is very much a “live in the now” mentality. We would not have a now, though had it not been for the hard work and sacrifices of leaders that came before us, though, and it for that reason we honor something that should have been done a long time ago. Celahir Erinos is as much a part of Arcona as the letters that combine together to create the existence of the word. He has been here ever since I landed 3 years ago, and was always someone I looked up to as both a member and a leader. I had the pleasure of serving under him, and he was part of the reason I was made a Battleteam Leader in the first place. It is because of him I started my career with the Arconan Summit, so It would be silly of me to say I would be here had he not been willing to take a chance on me. I got to work with him in my first run as a summit member, and watched him handle what was probably one of the hardest things in the world for a leader to endure - de-clanning. It was a major hit to most of us, even though I was still new and didn't fully grasp the magnitude of it. In short, Celahir was at the head of Arcona in it's darkest hours, and somehow managed to keep us from losing ourselves in self-pitty. In a time where we hit our lowest low, and with the world dumped on his shoulders, Celahir shouldered it, and kept us strong and together. He helped me gain confidence in myself as a Battleteam Leader, helped me draft Reboot 2.0, which is still the standard in which Battleteams are treated in Arcona. A lot of the things he did were more subtle, but still highly enjoyable - he created the Arcona Quote Database, which stores our most humorous antics, and always finds a way to keep us cheerful. He was part of the massive driving force of the team that got Arcona re-clanned.

He was ready to step back up to bat when called on to become Quaestor of Galares, when we finally regained our Clan status. It was then that I got to work with him as an equal, his counterpart Quaestor in House Qel-Droma. It was a great feeling knowing that he was right there with me, and was extremely helpful in my growth as a leader.

Sacramental Blades are given for extreme dedication to a Clan. That is why I feel that Celahir is long overdue this honor. His continual work with the Arconan Website, maintenance/administration of the Clans Message Boards, are only small examples of what he does behind the scenes as a coder for the Brotherhood and Arcona as a whole. Most recently; he really stepped up with running Operation: Rolling Thunder, a clan-wide internal event that drew in a very impressive number of entries and provided members with much appreciated activities to participate in. He was awarded a Cythraul (Arcona's unique in-character pets that are awarded as a symbol of achievement) for his work with the Clan, and continues to work behind the scenes with improvements towards Clan Arcona. I have no doubt that Celahir will go down as one of Arcona's best. His heart is unmatched, he cares about every member, and puts everything he has into anything he does.

For this, I am honored to award Celahir a Sacramental Blade. Congratulations, brother, you more than deserve it :).

-Marick Arconae

Celahir Erinos is more deserving of recognition than anyone else I know currently in the Brotherhood. Time and time again, he's been overlooked in favour of flashier, louder flavours of the week who often fizzle out inside a year, but his commitment to Arcona has been felt from the first day he transferred in, a bright-eyed Journeyman from Tarentum. I must admit, I never thought I'd see the day when he was Consul, but he proved himself time and time over, leading them through the darkest period since GJW 7, never wavering in his commitment to the esteemed Shadow Clan. Since then, he's been quietly brilliant. Chugging away behind the scenes, and what's more, people like him. He may not be the most visible leader Arcona's always had, but he has a good, lasting friendship with every single person of import in that Clan and, as Marick said, it is a heinous offence that he has been overlooked this long. Traditionally, Sacs are given out for lasting commitment over a long period of time, or spurts of pure brilliance during vendettas. Celahir has done both, and deserves this and much, much more. Well done, little brother. Keep on showing them how it's done ;) - Dash

I've worked with Celahir twice now, both times as his Aedile. His right hand man. The first time, it was when he took over from Legorii as Quaestor of House Qel-Droma. Under his leadership, HQD slowly became the powerhouse it is today. Our combo reports were the talk of the Clan...and of the DC. Namely after Muz told us to be less rude. But, people actually looked forward to reading our reports. Strange that...But I digress. Celahir helped me with my confidence as a leader, giving me projects and confiding in me on multiple issues. Alas, I left our partnership then to take over as Quaestor of Galeres. Where I then worked with him as a peer, organising competitions and encouraging the membership. The second time I worked with Celahir was once again as his Aedile. This time for House Galeres. Celahir once again relied on me, trusted me and generally made me work harder and harder. I thank him for it, because it enabled me to actually deal with the responsibility and be able to work under pressure. Under him, both Qel-Droma and Galeres were strengthened. Qel-Droma especially. But Irfan has done so much more for Arcona and the DB. He served as Consul for a time, as well as doing coding work. Celahir is a friend, a compatriot and an example of the selflessness that is expected from a truly great Arconan. As such, I'd like to thank him for his efforts, his dedication and his awesomeness.

Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar Quaestor of House Galeres

Ah Celahir, the man who can do it all. Honestly, I think I have seen him participate in almost every field within the Brotherhood both competitively and in terms of leading and helping out, and the thing which truly sets him apart from many of us mere mortals is his ability to do things well. He doesn't do things half-heartedly, instead throwing himself into everything that he can do. Be it competing to a high level in a wide variety of events, to offering his expertise in coding to those both within the Clan and to the Brotherhood as a whole, he has been an outstanding member whose dedication deserves a fitting reward. A nice guy in the bargain, Celahir really is an example to everyone of what the ideal member looks like; fun, willing to get stuck in and more than capable of offering help to those who need it.

Irfan, this is just a small part of the thanks that we can all give you, but I hope you realise that you have more than earned this. Congratulations my friend, keep on trucking.

-Nadrin Erinos Arconae

Most of Celahir's accomplishments came before my time, but I'd like to mention those that I had seen or been a part of. The day I joined, the Test of Lore had problems and I was getting pretty frustrated with it, so I came onto IRC for advice. I wasn't expecting much - being a former codemonkey I know these things take time, people have to be dragged online to fix problems or they don't have necessary permissions, etc. Well, to my surprise, Celahir PMd me shortly after I hopped on, and he fixed it right then and there. No waiting, no teeth pulling, no running around in circles or wading through red tape. Even though I had been frustrated nearly to the point of just giving up on the place, after talking with Celahir and watching him fix everything on the spot, I was extremely impressed with the dedication that he had and it reflected on everyone in DB. Working with him made me want to stick around and find out more and meet more people.

The stars (or the code) must have been aligned that day because I ended up in Galeres right under Celahir, my Quaestor. I quickly learned that his dedication above was merely par for the course. It was a really crazy time, just before GJWX, and everyone was getting into war-mode. School had also started for many, including Celahir. But yet he managed to make a crapton of time for me to teach me about DB and Arcona, Galeres and Soulfire. I was fairly high-maintenance, so that was no easy task. The Arcona Summit tends to help each other out with new members, tag-teaming on different subjects or just helping in general, and Cel was no exception. He was a friendly face, always willing to chat or answer questions. A year later, he still is, in fact.

During the war, Celahir was a monster of activity, not just in the events, but in motivating his members to participate and being there for them if they need help or if problems came up. Seeing this dedication in action inspired me to participate for sure. Leaders lead by example and he did this very well, and helped secure a first place win for Arcona. It was my first war in the DB, and he helped make it an excellent experience, so much so that I am still here a year later and helped Arcona rock the next one. Thank you for all you've done, Cel, you deserve this award and more. :)

~Socorra Erinos, Quaestor of House Qel-Droma

Celahir’s Sapphire Blade is long overdue. Others have already spoken about his abilities as a leader, so let me instead add some of the personal things we have worked on in the past. When I first met him as a Brotherhood member in ‘09, the Great Jedi War was in full swing. Things were tight and scary, and we all needed to do everything we could if we were going to pull it out. Irfan came to my attention first and foremost when he helped us parse some of the new rules put in place mid-War, helping us find a way to eventually create a tactic that gave us Team Gaming and with it, the War. More than his leadership, it is those flashes of brilliance that I appreciate more than anything in Irfan, and what makes him such a valuable member. In the Tenth Great Jedi war, it was Celahir who had all Star Wars books downloaded and ready on his computer, searchable on a moment’s notice in case it was necessary for the codebreaker (it was). When the prestige system was introduced, it was Celahir who helped discover much of its inner structure (including uncovering serious flaws that we managed to get fixed). He likewise was one of the people on the forefront of creating many of our promotion documents. Being a coder in addition to a general problem solver, and a nice guy to boot, Celahir has again and again proven his long term value as a member. For this, he deserves a Sapphire Blade.

To whom it may concern: Over the last two years Arch has shown great dedication to his unit, excellent personal contributions, and displayed his leadership abilities. Over this period of time, Arch has served as the Rollmaster and as the Aedile, both for an extended period of time. Additionally, Arch has served as M:FIST, as a Professor in the Shadow Academy, and he was on the Wiki staff. Clearly, the man has put in some work. He has tripled the amount of CFs he had, as a result of playing lots of ToR. Not only that, he has participated in a huge number of competitions, placing in many of them. He’s earned a substantial number of high level crescents, tons of CFs, Pendants of Blood, Dark Crosses, Novae, and engaged in general kickassery. He’s worked on a metric ton of wiki stuff, including the rework of the HSP Legions and Fleet, among many others. When there are wiki events in vendetta’s and feuds, Arch is there kicking ass for us. His presence helps to keep people charged. Furthermore, he has completed his Dark Savant and, just recently, Dark Sage degrees from the SA. Futhermore, Archangel helped lead Reman to DJK. His role in the leadership of Scholae Palatinae was pivotal. Furthermore, his presence in times of war is a boon to the house and encourages us all to try a little bit harder. I could go on and on, but just take a moment and look at his dossier. He has clearly earned this Sapphire Blade. Congratulations, Arch. Keep up the hard work. SWL Thran Occasus

From day one in House Scholae Palatinae, Archangel has honestly been the main person to push me through. Challenging and never settling, as Aedile (and he was RM during my time here too) he pushed everyone to be the best they can. From my noobiest attempts, to things that are written, Archangel is quick to acknowledge the attempt and effort. If it needed help, he's there to tell you some ideas. A good leader, motivator and helpful, Arch is one of the strongest members of our house. The thing I like about Arch is that he will get in there and do it with you not just hand you something to do and be like "do it". From working on wiki articles with Archangel to working with him in the house summit, Arch is an excellent writer and mentor to all members. Arch, aside from being a long serving Aedile, is also the professor of flight studies and has overhauled the course beautifully. He also is now serving as P:FIST and M:HRLD. For these reasons, and too many others to mention, I believe and recommend that Archangel be awarded with a Saphhire Blade.
For the Empire! Akatsuki Tamalar Rollmaster of Scholae Palatinae

Archangel. Former Aedile of House Scholae Palatinae, writing mentor for many, Professor of Flight Studies in the Shadow Academy, P:FIST, M:HRLD and honestly, too many more to list. Needless to say, Archangel is a man with many responsibilities. He doesn't let these tasks bog him down, and continuously pushes us, the members, to do the best in everything we do. Archangel is what you call a, very involved member. He's constantly delving into any and all activities within the House and around the Brotherhood, and has no problem with getting in the thick of it. He's consistently taking actions to improve the House as a whole, and honestly is one of our strongest members. Due to these achievements, and many more I can't list, I fully support the awarding of a Sapphire Blade. Xan Phraz-Etar Aedile of Scholae Palatinae

To whom it may concern: Archangel is one of the great members of Scholae Palatinae. I have known him for years and throughout that time, he has shown again and again what a stellar member he is. He constantly seeks to improve the house, the brotherhood and himself. Over the last few years he has served as both RM and AED of Scholae Palatinae. I can say with certainty that HSP would not be as well off as it is without the work and effort he has put in to these positions. Whether it be the long lasting project that expanded the Cocytus system, or rallying the house during vendettas and feuds, Archangel has always delivered. Within the last few months, he has been appointed to both P:FIST and M:HRLD, both of which allows him to branch out and effect the brotherhood at large. He also serves as PROF of Flight Studies. While all of these positions means that he had to step down as AED, it does not mean his work within the house has stopped. He was a very active participant in the CNS/HSP/PLA Feud that took place in the weeks before Horizons as well as in Horizons itself. He managed to participate in 16 events overall with a total score of 69, tying him for 3rd highest score in the house. This included a 1st place in the TOR Scavenger Hunt and Battleplan, as well as a 5th place in the Week 3 Graphics event. He also poked and prodded other members of the house to go out and do their best. This shows that even though he isn’t in the HSP Summit, he still takes an active role as one of the Equites of the house. His constant activity both in large events and out of them (Just look at all the CFs he has earned over the last several months.) shows the level of commitment we wish all members would have. There isn’t a way for me to accurately write down how thankful I am for his efforts here. I know that I personally would not have been able to make it as QUA if I didn’t have people like Arch supporting me along the way. As described on the Wikipedia page, the Sapphire Blade is is awarded to those who have “shown consistent and long-term service to their Clan or Brotherhood position”. Archangel has more than shown that consistent and long-term service and continues to do so every single day. For all of this I believe he has more than earned this Sapphire Blade. Congratulations Archangel. Xen'Mordin Vismorsus QUA of Scholae Palatinae

Xathia has been insanely helpful in the running of the ACC. She's outstripped me in sheer judging, opening matches etc, she's almost singlehandedly updated the rules and put them up on the wiki, she's helped train up two generations of ACC staffers, and without her, the CHL would have never have got off the ground. She's come up with new venues for each round, wikified them (making them all highly detailed), and on top of that has been grading them. It's only through RL that she's had to step down, and frankly I feel her loss keenly. She's been a great assistant, sage counsel when I need it, and a good friend. The ACC has recognised her stellar, stellar contributions, and would like to award her a SB for her titanic efforts. You're welcome back on the staff any time, Kris.

  • Teroch Erinos Arconae, Combat Master

From the instant I took on Xathia in my new and nascent Judging Staff, she was an indispensible part of the ACC team, steadily helping with more and more of the ACC's general functioning. Not only has she opened and Judged an impressively huge amount of battles, but she was also the driving force behind two of the most important events in recent ACC memory.

In this, I'll speak first and foremost of her activity as our main administrator. While it was Dash who came up with the sheet, and me who coded it in, there's no way it would have functioned without Xathia's tireless work in its maintenance. It was, for the longest amount of time, by her efforts alone that the sheet was updated and checked, and it was she who helped explain things to inexperienced new Judges and who suggested many of the improvements that were eventually incorporated in the second and third versions of the Reminder Sheet. In these versions, too, she was the main administrative leader, doing what was essentially a full sweep of all active ACC battles multiple times per day to ensure adequate in-time warning. The results of this policy were almost miraculous, cutting down on TimeOuts by a truly amazing amount and thus preventing untold amounts of frustration.

The second time in which Xathia showed her value as a Staff Member was in the recent Championship Ladder. In this, it was she who not only opened all the battles (and Judged a good amount of them), but she also designed the special rules and venue for each round, thus giving the Ladder a whole new and fresh 'feel'. The Ladder, on the whole, has been called a smashing success by most of its participants, and most of that is thanks to Xathia's efforts.

So, at the end of Xathia's term as Judge and Operator, it's time to review her efforts on the Brotherhood's behalf. The Sapphire Blade, I can read, is granted for "consistent and long-term service to their Clan or Brotherhood position". This seems to be the very minimum that Xathia deserves.

-Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae, ACC Operator

Xathia has been an amazing ACC trainer all the way back to when I first qualified just before GJWX. She judged that match and gave me critism that I still use today. Her insight and knowledge from there and all through the war helped me achieve 4th place in the ACC event at the rank of PRT against EQ1-EQ4. Since then, she has been an amazing coach not only in ACC but also in fictions and ROs, providing countless proofings and suggestions that have absolutely helped me become a better writer. Xathia is always available for questions as a Judge, having answered numerous of my own in email, IRC, and even in IM, while at home and even at work, some damn near immediately or as soon as possible, and never once batting an eye no matter how newbish or crazy they were. It's been great being able to just go to her without feeling like I will be judged based on what I ask. Her dedication to ACC has been a huge source of inspiration and has driven myself to do well on this platform.

But truly, Xathia wasn't just active in the ACC. During my tenure as Aedile she was also an active member of Void Squadron Battleteam, participating in competitions and offering insight on groups discussions on the future of the Battleteam as well as helping put together a Run-on for BT activity. She has also been participating in the Clan Operation Rolling Thunder, joining in on ACC matches and furiously pounding out excellent posts for the Operation Run-on. Xathia has truly been a stellar example of a dedicated member and leader of the Brotherhood, with innumerable hours of ACC staff work, behind the curtains work for myself and I imagine countless others in private and public, and also a terrific asset to Arcona. Thanks Xathia, for all that you've done.

~Socorra Erinos, ACC Judge

Xathia is one of those people I've known since I got my start in the brotherhood. She is many things, all of them excellent. She's detailed, focused, dedicated, capable, and determined. Her jobs have always recieved the maximum effort she could give, often proving that jobs everyone thought were just poorly done, were done poorly because others who had held them were poor at them. Reliability, responsibility, impartiality, these are her words. Patience is her virtue, and perfection her goal. I've never known Xathia to fake, fluff, or otherwise produce something that was "finished" and not, be, or to just quit. She gives it her best, produces it as is, and makes no excuses. Often, her work out performs others due to its sheer attention to detail, and is often expertly crafted.

What matters most, is that she took this all and applied it to the ACC with a will. She judged matches, many times on little or no sleep, just because it needed done. Her judgements were always impartial, fair, focused, and based in logic. No matter how many people accused her of being biased, or of being lazy, her work spoke for itself. She has served faithfully since Dalthid's second term as CM. Her term in the ACC came to symbolize stability and reliability, that even when no one else was available, that she would be. Her work is nothing short of exemplary, and recognized by all with respect as a pillar of the Brotherhood.

Congratulations Xathia, it's long overdue.

-Tra'an Reith, ACC Judge

I’ve only recently had personal dealings with Xathia, but it is her conduct removed from those that allows me to lend my name to the list of those recommending her for this award. I’ve been a fan of the ACC for a long time, and as such, I’ve continued to monitor the goings-on there. Her activity there has been astounding, and that speaks to a member who is willing to put in a lot of time influencing - the right way - the members who look to the Club as a form of worthwhile entertainment.

Additionally, my role as Aedile gives me insight as to how she deals with that same membership. I’ve only heard about Xathia’s tough, but fair, leadership and instruction style. That sort of attitude, in my humble opinion, is vital in helping members become better at writing and competitive amongst their peers.

Lastly, when I did decide to rejoin the ACC Staff, she was more than welcoming while still making sure this old-timer was still familiar with the rules and regulations of the venue; this, to me, is a sign of a member who expects excellence from the Club she belongs to, the people she works with, and the writers whom we encounter when we decide to ‘throw down the gauntlet’ in the form of an ACC Challenge.

In short, the Club could use more members like Xathia; she’s done everything the right way, and as a result, the members are enjoying themselves for the right reasons.

Congratulations, Xathia, on your Sapphire Blade!

-Tsainetomo Keibatsu, ACC Judge

Within the criteria for awarding a Sapphire Blade, it states: 'The recipient of a Sapphire Blade has shown consistent and long-term service to their Clan or Brotherhood position. Such services however cannot be seen until taken on a hold, each individual part seen as one.' Now, I'm not one for semantics, but I believe Xathia has accomplished this, and much, much more. Her work not only in Arcona but in the ACC has been exceptional. And exceptional is a word never used out of context within Arcona. She is simply sublime, with loyalty, dedication, and ambition by the bucket load, and ability to boot.

Long-term and consistent service? The ACC. A mentor and senior player in Arcona. Bringing it all together? Pretty much holding the ACC up, along with Dash, during both the CHL and the downtimes, spending a significant amount of her time actually writing, drawing and essentially creating venues. If the success of the CHL, and her continued success in Arcona does not exemplify these accomplishments being brought together and 'seen as one', I don't know what would justify such a claim.

Seldom does one see someone so truly deserving of a Sacramental Award. Krissi has gone above and beyond the call of duty time and time again. She deserves recognition for the amount of effort and dedication she has shown to this club for the best part of five years. Especially in her efforts within Arcona and the ACC.

Congratulations, Krissi. You deserve it.

~Wuntila Arconae, ACC Operator

Xathia has been one of the single most dedicated ACC Judges I have had the pleasure of working with. She directly taught me almost everything to do with the logistics of judging a match and what's more finds the time to judge most of the matches that are submitted herself. This doesn't keep her from keeping up with other activities in the DB. She's won a handful of awards, including a Dark Cross, Grand Cross and a Seal of Loyalty. She's been a very loyal member of this club, and as such I recommend her for a Sapphire Blade. Congrats Xath. It's well earned.

Primary reason

Invictus is the man who needs no introduction. He was a cornerstone of Arcona’s success over the past eighteen months; a pillar of strength within our unit; a powerhouse of activity, and, most of all an exemplary person. All of these attributes filtered down into his tenure as House Qel-Droma’s Quaestor. Succeeding Marick, one of the driving forces behind reclanning and the latest GJW win, was a big task. The shoes were big, and Invictus was expected to fill them. Yet, fill them he did. And some.

This man is a true Arconan. He works for the benefit of Arcona without any want of reward and/or gratification. He was what I would call a behind-the-scenes orchestrator, funnelling activity and driving people to success as a shadow ticking over in the background. Everyone thought he was inactive, everyone thought he was waiting to step down. However, that was not the case. Not by a long shot. It was only those in the Summit – those that knew the man – that understood his true, unfaltering dedication to House Qel-Droma, Arcona’s success, and the people with whom he shared the responsibilities of Summit leadership. He never wanted to fail, he never wanted to lose. It was this that drove him to great heights within the Clan and that will, later in his DB career, take him into realms undreamt by many of Arcona’s elites.

I cannot fault the man. And by that, I mean I really can’t. I tend to formulate (and express) an opinion on most people, whether good or bad. But to Invictus all I can give is a silent, appreciative respect. He was awesome. And not in the ‘gnarly, awesome dude’ type way. He actually made the summit look on in awe. Awe-inspiring is perhaps a better term, but it doesn’t truly encapsulate him. Awesome. That’s the word I’d use to describe him, his efforts, and his true love for our hard-working Clan.

His track record speaks for itself: 3 Bronze Novae, 4 Silver Novae, 4 Gold Novae, 9 Dark Crosses, 4 Anteian Crosses, 2 Steel Crosses, 3 Seals of Memory, 2 Seals of Retribution, 5 Seals of Return, 23 Seals of Decimation, 2 Seals of Loyalty and a Grand Cross of the Dark Side. And that’s not including his ridiculous amount of crescents, clusters and pendants. While these are merit medals – just like a Sapphire Blade is a ‘merit’ award – they exemplify his absolute success in this club. We award members justly in Arcona – people are given what they earn. And, by the looks of this tally, Invictus has earned a significant amount of praise and reward beyond that which we can express in a simple Grand Cross.

Then there are his leadership accolades. First there is Ektrosis. As Aedile and Quaestor of House Ektrosis, he brought a house which was primarily inactive and reinvigorated it. While it may not be earth-shattering or indicate fundamental changes, very little was being done in the House prior to his appointment and they went on to be the stars of Taldryan for some time after.

As Combat Master he hosted multiple successful DB-wide competitions, including one of the first successful team-based ACC competitions, Dark Betrayal. He also revised the rules of the Combat Center, most of which survive to this day. In addition, he redid the fighting styles, not just rewriting the styles and creating a half dozen new ones, but changing the format of them and how they are treated (which are still used). He spearheaded a project that weeded out character sheets which had been approven previously that violated a variety of ACC rules (non-SW races, use of armor, use of fighting styles and lightsaber styles for which they failed to meet the requirements). He also oversaw the ACC during the sixth GJW. With over 300 matches, it is the second largest ACC event in the Combat Centres history.

He was a Magistrate to the Oracle, and a Dark Voice editor for a short while. Then he went to work in House Marka Ragnos. He helped completely revise and reorganize the Disciples of Ragnos into a fully-functioning fictional framework in which the members at the time took a great deal of pride. He also helped oversee the Battle for Inos, an intra-Clan Feud between HMR and HLK, and lead HMR to victory. He also ran the Naga Sadow Times during his tenure in CNS (http://nagasadow.org/times/issue5/issue5.html).

Then there is the true reason for this request: his time as Quaestor in Arcona.

He was a member of the war leadership team that lead Arcona to victory. He's been a primary proofreader for Arcona, proofing the vast majority of ACC posts and fiction entries for Arcona from the GJW through the current championship ladder (up to the final that is currently ongoing). He also helped significantly by being a consistent presence, especially when he was Aedile to Wally whose work schedule was, at best, unpredictable. After that, he worked on maintaining a marginal level of activity among membership, so that we don't lose people between then and the next major (now very ominously looming) event. With the help of Socks, he was running a project to rewrite all of the Qel-Droma wiki articles, fleshing them out significantly. In addition, there is Operation: [Redacted] which was overall very successful.

He completely reinvisioned the history and nature of House Qel-Droma, giving it a consistent fictional framework that I think will go, and has gone, a long way towards buy-in from the membership. Recently, most of Qel-Droma have had a strong sense of being Arconan, which I approve of. And that was down to Invictus. Solely him and his esteemed Aedile, Socorra. But it does mean that they compete little in House Competitions in comparison to Clan ones. I think getting the members to show pride in their House can go a long way towards rectifying that. Invictus was the man who did just that. He also worked extensively on getting several new members excited about the DB who otherwise would have done nothing except TOR (Scelestus is a good example), as well as getting some older members active again (ie: Ninj, Legz).

Then, most importantly, we get to his true feats of amazement. He trained Socks to the position of Aedile, at which she is did an amazing job - while some of this is inate to her, we have to praise Invictus explicitly for training up such an amazing replacement, and being a constant force of her springboard to success in the Brotherhood at large. I have no doubt she'll continue to succeed as Quaestor going forwards due in part to that experience.

He is now also working as M:SCL, fixing various bugs (such as multiple failures of the score submission system) as they crop up and working on the planning for the new DJB site, particularly as involves the revised table structures. The work lately as M:SCL has the potential to be the most significant by far, as we are drastically redesigning the entire site, both the database structure and the entire code of it. It's a massive undertaking which he's actively been participating in, and it requires both a huge amount of personal work as well as learning an entirely new coding language to accomplish it.

I think it is fundamentally fair to say that this man is a powerhouse, a workhorse, an absolute demon. I’ll be honest, I’m not good at expressing this much emotion. But with Invictus? I can’t help but just let myself go off on tangents. He is a true inspiration to us all. To come back from inactivity, reinvigorate a house, help Arcona back onto its feet, then step down to focus on a mammoth task within the Seneschal’s office to improve the DJB as a whole is something truly beautiful (and awesome, but not ‘gnarly dude’ awesome, as I have previously explained).

This man, above any other within our unit at the moment, deserves reward. This is unquestionable.

The (extensive) comments below are a ream of praise. I don’t feel I could do him any more justice than these guys already have.

It is for this reason that I request he be awarded for his efforts with a Sapphire Blade.

Congratulations Invictus. You’ve earned it.

(and, Happy Birthday).

~Wuntila Arconae, The Dragon of Selen, Consul of Clan Arcona.

Its funny how things play out sometimes. At one second, you feel like you have a great working relationship with someone, and then all of a sudden they are gone, leaving you cold turkey and alone to face an already overwhelming task. That was what happened to me in my first months as a Quaestor after the re-clanning of Arcona. I was down, and didn't think that I'd ever find someone that would be able to help me survive my new position. That's when I met Invictus. Vic came right in and grabbed his position of Aedile by the horns. He immediately integrated himself into the Clan, and to most it would be hard to imagine that he had ever lived anywhere else besides Arcona. His loyalty and service over the past year has been unparalleled, his work ethic inspiring those around him. Every night he would message me before going to bed and ask simply, "Anything else you need me to do?" It's a simple gesture, but one that always made me smile and proud to have him as a member of my Summit. He was a stone on which the rest of the current summit was built, and was part of the leadership team that helped guide Arcona to it's landslide victory in the 10th Great Jedi War. He was consistent, always there, and very rarely ever took a break. Looking back, I would not have been able to rise to the level at which I am now without his guidance. I feel like this is short, but honestly, I don't think I need to fluff this recocmendation up. Quite simply, Vic

A member of the brotherhood for over 11 years, Vic's experience, competency, and technical ability paint him as a truly rare member. I have yet to meet another member with as much versatility, dedication, and sheer talent in writing, coding, administration, and leadership. He always offers his services to any who ask (giggity), and will help resolve a coding issue while also proof reading someone's ACC post, and then go on to check up on his projects he had running. His work with the Seneschal' office in advancing the DB is inspirational, and he did so while effectively running his House and keeping up with his duties as a Quaestor. He accomplished all he has in the past year while undergoing 50+ hour work weeks in real life, where he spends most of his day solving mind-dulling problems at work while transitioning into a new job/department. I honestly have no idea how he continues to be an exemplary member of the brotherhood while keeping up with his real life. It just goes to further show his dedication to the Brotherhood and his Clan, and there is honestly no one else who shows it more.

Congrats Vic. I always seem to be chasing you, and there is no one else in the Brotherhood who deserves this more.

-Marick Arconae, Proconsul of Clan Arcona.

Invictus has been the standard with which we provide as an example for what we look for in an ideal summiter, and this is for a man who's been in Arcona less than a year. He's fast become indispensible and quickly distinguished himself both as a workhorse and a leader, taking on board innumerable projects with an affable and personable manner and made a name for himself during the war, where he turned the ACC into his bitch by tearing a bloody swathe through the rest of the Brotherhood, and helping proof the Arconan's posts while he was at it. The man is a machine, able to pump out high-quality writing at a moment's notice, and often forgoes food or sleep in the Clan's name. He is the embodiment of sacrifice as the Quaestor of Qel-Droma, and it is in large part due to him that HQD is now the dominant House in Arcona. I know without a shadow of a doubt that without his input, drive, determination, work ethic and sense of humour, HQD would be less of a House, and Arcona would be less of a Clan as a result. Thanks, Vic, for everything you've done for our home. You're a trooper.

Dash

Vic has been an amazing driving force in Arcona since the moment he stepped foot in the clan. He plunges himself into nearly every activity one can find on every platform. Everything he participates in becomes a worthwhile venture that he brings success to due to his creativity, determination, and drive. I've been a leader under Vic for over half a year and it has been an enjoyable experience. As his Aedile it was a partnership, in that I was able to be a part of the decision-making process. He gave plenty of opportunities for feedback between us both, which went towards training me for the position as well as eventually his own. What little conflict we had was dealt with openly between us and became important to our decision-making and personal growth, something that I will take with me in the future. Vic allowed the House, BTLs, and myself to be expressive and utilized our unique personalities and skills to both work towards the success of the House and our own personal ambitions, sharing in it equally and proudly. In working for him, Vic has become a good friend and great counsel for all things Brotherhood. I know that if I ever need anything, he is always there, no hesitation.

Vic is highly passionate about the House and its members. He is a constant presence in email threads and on IRC as well as TOR and now Diablo. His work ethic is amazing, in that he works incredibly hard and demands excellence, but gives excellence in return. Vic is always a source of ideas for how to better the House, Clan, and DB in general, coming up with projects such as Redacted, organization tools, and a better House/BT reporting system and schedule. Vic weighs in on every idea or problem that comes up, offering insight that oftentimes becomes a large piece of the result. His hard work, values, and vision have certainly helped HQD, Arcona, and the DB in general to progress and succeed, and I know that my transition to either Aedile or Quaestor would not have been as smooth. Thank you, Vic, for all that you've done. Those are some damn big shoes to fill, but thankfully you've shown me how to wear them.

~Socorra Erinos, Quaestor of House Qel-Droma

Vic...the guy was an icon to me. He came in from Naga Sadow to help Marick and House Qel-Droma dominate in the last GJW. Invictus was one of those I owe my Quaestorship to. He, along with Wally took the plunge and gave me the position of BTL of Shadow Gate during GJW X. Encouraging me and pushing me to better myself as a member and a leader, Vic's passion towards the DB and Arcona especially was a beacon of hope to me. That I could one day do as much as he has for the Shadow Clan. When Invictus wants something done, he gets it done. Making HQD the dominant House in Arcona and leaving me chasing his shadows. Not only that, but he's trained up an excellent replacement in Socorra who I look forward to working with. I know others will go on about how awesome he is and why he deserves this Sapphire Blade, but the guy has worked so hard not only in Arcona, but also within the Seneschal Office. Working on coding problems as a Magistrate and often running around fixing ACC sheets and making sure things work. To see Vic and I on irc at the same time was a time of much banter and bickering. Yet, for all that. I wouldn't have him any other way. Invictus is a bloody brilliant bloke, a beacon of leadership and my mother's favourite customer.

Thanks Vic, for all you've done. You deserve this Sapphire Blade and more....

Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar Quaestor of House Galeres

I've not been SCL for very long, but already has Invictus proven that he's a tremendous asset to the coding team. He and I have had some awesome coding-related brainstorm sessions that will surely have a large impact on the Brotherhood as a whole when their results will be implemented. Also, being an Arconae I've seen Invictus do awesome things with Qel-Droma. Not being a very great writer myself, I will leave it to my fellow Arconae to describe these. In short, Invictus, being awesome and all, more than deserves this Sapphire Blade.

James Lucius Entar Arconae Seneschal

Invictus exemplifies everything that it means to be a leader in the Brotherhood. From the instant he joined us as Aedile, he was active and dedicated, bringing renewal to our House when it needed it. More than that, when the War came around he was active both personally and as a leader, being at the forefront of our War Planning team and helping us discover, far ahead of time, the best path to victory. I have seen him personally stay awake for some fifty hours at a time in the War to help others towards the victory. Would we have lost the War without him? I can't tell. I can tell you it would have been a lot closer without his invaluable aid, however.

When, at the War's conclusion, he took up the Quaestor's mantle, he was scarcely less impressive. He immediately launched a series of improvements to Qel-Droma that helped launch it ahead, and he did not let up his unrelenting drive, bringing in new members and leadership to replace those he lost. In this position, too, he sacrificed time and personal enjoyment for the good of Qel-Droma, such that Qel-Droma is now a power in the Brotherhood that I cannot imagine losing to any other unit in the Brotherhood, House or Clan. This is in addition to his major revamping work in the as-of-yet-unreleashed Project Redacted.

Taking the measure of Invictus' time in the Brotherhood, the verdict is inescapable: Exceptional, from the first day to the last. For your time and your effort, Invictus, I'm proud to recommend you for a Sapphire Blade.

-Dark Adept Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae, Rollmaster Arcona.

Since his appointment to Quaestor of Qel-Droma, I have found Invictus to be one of the best people I have worked with in my DJB career. During his tenure, I found him to be extremely approachable, and that he would always listen to his members, even if they had a gripe about something within HQD. There were times that I came close to leaving not only HQD, but the entire DJB, but speaking to Vic about them always made me feel more positive.

Looking from a more selfless perspective, Vic has worked hard to improve HQD’s image, even inspiring Project Redacted, which when finished will better define us as a unit and give us a proper backstory.

I would be able to say more, but I was privileged to look at the wonderful things already written by my Arconan colleagues. They’ve said most of it.

Thanks for everything, Alaric!

Andrelious J. Inahj Gatewarden, Shadow Gate.

Many have already commented on the numerous exemplary qualities of Invictus that set him apart from the normal expectations of a member of the Broterhood, and make him worthy of this prestigious award. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I would like to give a couple of specific examples, that I believe serve to highlight their recommendations.

A number of people have mentioned his dedication, and the one thing that has always stuck out to me was Wally mentioning that he often had to order Vic to get some sleep...indeed it has been my experience to see Vic often burning the midnight oil to get work in on a project.

People have spoken of his approachability and fervor for making all feel welcome and important, and indeed, Invictus was instrumental in making me feel welcome when I joined the club as well as ensuring that I was brought up to speed quickly in all aspects of the Brotherhood. He has been available for questions on IRC, been happy to proof and improve writing, and willing to help with gaming as well.

There has also been mention of Vic's standard of excellence, and that was made evident to me during the initial work on project Redacted. The first step had been accomplished and written up for approval by Invictus. His response was everything that had been done was crap and had to be thrown out and started over. While it was frustrating to have the work tossed, there was a sense of satisfaction in knowing that the guy running the show gave a damn about the quality of the outcome and was willing to do whatever was needed to ensure that only the best product saw the light of day.

In summary, even his departure from the office of Quaestor is indication of his commitment to Arcona. Realizing that he could no longer uphold the standard of excellence he wanted for the position, he had the courage and strength to step aside and let others raise the bar rather than resting on his laurels and let HQD coast along.

While we miss his leadership, we cherish his dedication to us all. Invictus for Arconae!

Arcona Invicta,

Scelestus Aedile of House Qel-Droma

I am proud to be writing this recommendation for a Sapphire Blade for Invictus, a member of Arcona truly deserving of this award. He has proven himself to the clan multiple times as well as driving himself to his limits to better members experiences as well as better himself inside of the brotherhood and in clan arcona.

As many of my comrades have said about Invictus his main quality that has always driven him and made him stand out is his determination to complete anything set to him with the highest level of quality possible. When working around Vic, he was always willing to get stuck in to anything that came at him, including things that he wasn’t experienced in, such as looking at the war he took it upon himself to throw himself in the deep end of gaming and made himself a active presence for the clan, but this is just one of the fine qualities Vic has. He has been an active Quaestor and driving House Qel-Droma to activity, as well as running numerous things, he has also been in charge of over watching projects, all of which we have seen great quality work being put in by Vic, everything he takes part in his mind set is always to achieve the highest level of work that he possibly can. He is a great member of the clan, his work throughout his time in leadership has been something that all of us can look up to and learn from, as well as his level of activity.

I won’t ramble much more, because everyone else has already stated the other qualities of Vic, I just feel that we should all aspire to be a little bit like this man, in the sense that everything he does is always given 110% even if it is the smallest amount of work, he strives for perfect. I believe that Vic has stepped out of the crowd and shown himself as a worth member to receive the Sapphire Blade. Congratulations on your hard work Vic.

Cethgus Tiberus Entar Battle Team Leader Void Squadron.

Teu is a member who has a long time of steady, dedicated service to her name. She has served in many positions over the years, but I know her time as Rollmaster and Proconsul best, when I have worked closely with Teu. She has been a very helpful member, participating in competitions and events, creating and developing large projects, and generally being a highly active Summit member.

During her time as Rollmaster, Teu worked on several projects. The first of these was the Schools of Learning. This was an idea developed during a time when the Clan needed assistance getting better in multiple areas. Teu came up with the idea and worked through many instances of it. She modified it as needed and found ways to fix it to make it viable. Though this project was scrapped in the end, Teu showed her resolve by continuing to find alternative solutions without letting it slow her down.

Another major task Teu performed as Rollmaster was managing the Master-Student Program. When she approached the task, the MSP program was in disarray and confusing. Teu updated its wiki article, began contacting interested journeymen and potential masters, and paired them together when she could. She also held the masters accountable for their end of the project, which ensured they stayed on task. Teu turned the project around from a background feature to a program that greatly assisted journeymen in getting to Dark Jedi Knight.

Teu also heavily developed the Black Guard program. The Black Guard is a fictional title used to recognize highly active Journeymen. While Rollmaster, Teu revived the program. She used scores from Doom Train, our monthly activity tracking competition, to determine the occupant for each position, and also established the schedule we use to make sure the Black Guards are cycled out in a fair and orderly manner of time. Without Teu, this program very likely would still be an afterthought; but now it is a valued position.

Though Teu has not been Proconsul for very long, she has already brought great things to the position. She has continued to offer great advice, mentoring other, newer Summit members, including myself. Furthermore, Teu has assisted in working on the Festival of Renewal which is currently running. Working with myself, Teu made and released competitions and encouraged participation, as well as helping to plan the entire event. Teu also developed a report schedule for the Summit, which evenly spaces out reports throughout the month so they are not cluttered.

In general, Teu is not only the backbone of our Summit, but also a very active member. She is the type of leader who leads from the front. She participates in TOR activities a lot, being another highly active member of the guild. She also enters many competitions, such as the Championship Ladder, Ambitions Runon, and DGM’s Quick & Easy competitions.

Finally, Teu is always helpful to new members and Summit members alike. She goes far beyond the requirements of her position and can always be found on Google Talk or IRC and has a high email turnaround time. Her years of experience both as a member and on Summit, as well as her approachable, friendly attitude make her an invaluable asset in this regard.

For these reasons I would like to award Teu a much-deserved Sapphire Blade. Congratulations, Teu!

  • KP Locke Sonjie Consul of Clan Naga Sadow

In the time I've known Teu I have known her to be constantly working. Whether it be to promote the awesome programs offered within the CNS or to just give a Journeyman someone to talk to. She was always a present force within the Summit driving activity. She does a lot of things she doesn't have to, but rather wants to. Whether this means making all nighters or just hopping into ToR and helping any who ask you can be sure that Teu is doing it. She is constantly striving for activity and pushing others to do the same, and that is something to be admired.

  • Atra Ventus Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan

Teu is such a dedicated and valuable member of the club. She has defined the rollmaster position and set it up so that all future rollmasters will have an easier transition. She consistently helps any and everyone that requires assistance. She is highly active in ToR and is always volunteering to help others complete their goals. The Clan and the club as a whole are lucky to have such a dedicated member.

  • Kalia Phoenyx Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos

Drive, determination and duty are three things that encapsulate Teu Pepoi and her continuing service to Clan Naga Sadow. Having held down a variety of positions, from Aedile, to Rollmaster, and now Proconsul of the Clan, Teu has now been a member of the Clan Summit for well over the past two years.

Throughout this time, if there is one thing above all others for which she has stood out, it has long been her dedication to the club's next generation, and her sense of duty in this endeavour has been evident in virtually everything else she has done. Whether it was her drive to bridge the gap between generations by trying to breathe new life back into the Clan's Master-Student program, or the hours she has spent across the years working with numerous different Summit administrations to continue to push for reform of many of the Clan's outdated or outmoded ways of working, such as the abundance of redundant chaff that has until very recently littered the Clan's wiki, to give but one example that her and Locke have recently taken steps to address.

Further, Teu has never been one to balk when it comes to pushing through new initiatives, whether they be her own or new policies passed down from the Dark Council. In this, Teu has long been one of the key figures in reshaping the ways of thinking of many a chiselled veteran, and in this she has shown herself to be a keen mediator and reformer. Moreover, all this comes in spite of her own personal hardships in real life, and Teu's continuing capacity to face -- and conquer -- the challenges presented her by the Dark Brotherhood reveals her passion and determination.

For this, along with the many other things this award's other recommendations have surely listed, I commend Teu and congratulate her on what represents a well earned thank you for all she has done, and will hopefully continue to do in the months, and perhaps years, ahead.

We have not had a massive crisis in some time (thank god), but the maintenance of the Brotherhood's systems never stops. With so much competing code and servers that are unruly on the best of days it takes someone special with the knowledge and tempermant to keep the cogs of the club running without running and screaming for the hills. Although have a good and highly productive life outside of the club, Orv still manages to find some time to continue to help improve everything we do here. He has always been adding bits and pieces to our infrastructure when he has a chance, as well as maintaining and stabilizing what he can when things pop up. His efforts continue to take him beyond the here and now, instead focusing on the future and ensuring that the club stays relevant, at least technologically, for years to come. His efforts cannot always be seen, yet the fact that our website continue to function and even improve is a testament to his skill and efforts. Thanks for everything, Orv, and please keep it up!

DJM Halcyon Taldrya Deputy Grand Master

Orv is epic. And not in the Xbox gamer way. He's not just a sixteen year old kid swearing profanities and insulting mothers (although he is from Arcona, so the mum thing goes without saying), but more like Gilgamesh, who the gods hated so much that they killed his best buddy and he stormed the underworld and attacked the very gods that had sought to kill him. He's that kind of ancient awesomeness. Orv works a double shift every day. EVERY DAY. He goes to work at 8 am and comes home at midnight. He is also a husband and a caring father, so he has another twelve hour job on top of that. Figure in five hours for sleep (i'm being generous here) and we can see that Orv does thirty-three hours of stuff in every day. That's before you calculate the work he does for us...work that I may add doesn't pay him, except in pixels. So when I tell you that Orv has been the one guy responsible for keeping our site from sinking like an overweight flailing man in quicksand, you have some kind of reference for how much he does. He keeps the hackers at bay. He polishes the site functionality and adds to it where he can. He's also been working with the other coders and is working to make sure that everyone is up to speed, which is a crucial bit of site planning. On top of all that, I know he has been working on several big overhaul-type projects for the site. I don't have a way to even guess at how many hours he spends on our site a week, and frankly, I don't want to open that can of worms, because i remember having a similar discussion with Jac when I was herald. So, I will just repeat. Orv is Epic. And to commemorate and reward that work, I am proud to present to him a Sapphire Blade as a token of our appreciation for him. Thank you, Orv. Your work means a lot to all of us. ~ Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith

Macron Goura Sadow is a member of the Dark Brotherhood who has done great work for the club over a long period of time and continues to do so to this day. He is the embodiment of dedication. Macron has been Consul twice and participated and placed in many Great Jedi Wars and other vendettas. I have only had the honor of working with him for a short time, but already in that time Macron has shown me what serving one’s Clan is about. He sets the example by making sure members are properly awarded, running Clan events, keeping the Summit on task, participating in major competitions, and helping newer members out, myself included.

When Macron took office in his most recent term as Consul, we performed a thorough audit of the membership. Many were awarded or promoted, and Macron diligently collected information and compiled it to see if the member in question was worthy of recognition. Throughout his term as Consui Macron kept up with awards, making sure members were recognized for their contributions. Furthermore, Macron kept the Summit on task, ensuring that recommendations were written and submitted in a timely manner.

Macron also took it upon himself to open communication lines with our allies in Independent House Taldryan. During his time he made contact and was one of the main drivers for the event Alliance of Steel. Macron demonstrated his tenacity by keeping up with the event planning and making sure things got done as they were supposed to. Though the event didn’t go well, afterward Macron immediately began looking toward the future and how things could be done differently.

Not simply content to lead from the top, Macron did his fair share of getting in the trenches as well. He participated in such competitions as the Monthly Topic, taking first place in the Three-Man Runon and in the process helping a newer member learn the ropes of Runon-writing. Macron also participated in the Championship Ladder in the ACC, setting a great example for his Clan in that department. Furthermore, Macron maintained a presence in the Clan’s developmental Runon - Worldwreckers.

As noted above, Macron has helped newer members throughout his time as Consul. He worked closely with Kairus in the Three-Man Runon competition. He taught me a lot about what it meant to serve on Clan Summit and what was expected. Not content to leave helping newer members to the Rollmaster and House leadership, Macron offered advice and answered questions where he was able.

For the above reasons, along with his consistent strong dedication to Clan and Brotherhood, I would like to request a Sapphire Blade for Macron’s hard work. Congratulations, Macron!

  • KP Locke Sonjie Consul of Clan Naga Sadow

I have known Macron for many years, previously as a regular member in the Clan not as a member of summit. There is much that can be said when you approach him from that angle, he is a jovial guy who always has an air about Sadow succeeding. However once I took up the mantle of leadership under him, his dedication to Sadow became apparent. He was always looking for ways to make it push forward towards the next step. Always coaxing people on to do better and do more if they could. He was also very approachable about issues that came out and negotiating them to a workable conclusion. When we had a problem, he contacted people and made sure it was cleared up right.

In the past me and Macron have butted heads about many of things, however after we saw past our own stubbornness we realized our goals were one and the same but our solutions were very different as was our own perceptions of the issues themselves. Once we got past this hiccup our ability to work together grew stronger and in the end made Clan Naga Sadow better. I respect this man for his long dedication to the clan and this Sapphire Blade is more than earned by this mad alchemist.

Overall, Macron has been active for the course of years within the walls of Naga Sadow. His title of Son of Sadow shows this activity and dedication. He has participated in many competitions, earn a bunch of medals, bust most recently he wrote a run on that won a diamond crescent in a monthly topic. He has also created and ran a small feud with that of Taldryan where it was co-op. We were to work together with those in that house. He is always looking for ways to help Sadow, even now when real life has taken a sharp turn away from the DB he is offering his assistance with this transition to a new summit. Thank you for your service Macron. :)

  • Exarch Teu Pepoi CNS Proconsul

Macron has always been an influential member of Clan Naga Sadow. From his previous leadership positions, to being a Son, and most recently Consul of CNS, Macron has always been there for anyone who needs help and guidance. As a normal member of the House Macron is sometimes more active them some of my active JM, he always has the drive and devotion to serve his clan. During this last term as Consul, Macron did a lot to help the clan push forward even if he only lead the Clan for four months. He made progress in the clan’s lore, he pushed his leaders to regular contact members and to encourage them to participate. Even in the position of Consul he managed to earn a Crescent with Emerald Star and Diamond Star. He earn himself a Legion of Scholar, 10 Clusters of Ice, and was even appointed an Assistant Professor for the SA. That more than some members do in four months without holding a major leadership position. I feel as if Macron deserves our thanks and gratitude for the time that he lead us. Therefore I recommend that he be awarded a Sapphire Blade. Congrats!

~ SBL Jeric Cyrin, HMR Quaestor

In his latest term as Consul, Macron remains ever the model leader and member of this club. Winding back the clock two years, Macron was there when the clock turned back and Clans became Independent Houses once more; but whereas many old timers became disgruntled and bitter, Macron could see the need and stepped up to the table, with Sai laying down the building blocks in his term as Quaestor that were subsequently built off after his time in office was sadly cut short for much the same reasons as real life calling him away from Consul now. But what a time in office it was! Even in his what may appear shorter spells in the hot seats than some others, Macron has always given it 110%, working hard with the rest of the Summit, leading, meditating, driving activity and coming up with ideas that I'm sure others will have discussed at length in their own recommendations for this well deserved award.

In one of his reports last year, I recall Muz himself said that all leaders should practice what their preech, and that inspiration is best achieved when members see those above them getting out there and enjoying the activities the Brotherhood has to offer. In this, Macron's dossier record speaks for itself, with his virtually unending stream of medals from participation in vendettas to the ACC to internal Clan competitions and more. Even for a new member, eager to impress their new superiors and move up the ranks, this would be impressive; but for a leader, in charge of one of the Brotherhood's two clans, this makes it ever the more noteworthy. Moreover, Macron isn't a college student with hours of free time, but a man with a family and the pressures of a job out in the real world, making his continuing devotion -- and enthusiasm! -- for this club something that should serve as an inspiration for all those just starting out in Clan Naga Sadow.

On top of this, throughout the past year, Macron has toiled away on the upcoming vendetta, which I believe we will finally see reach its culmination this summer, when we will all be able to enjoy the fruits of his hard labour. And this is on top of his workload as Consul, his job as a mad scientist in the real world, his family commitments, his own seemingly endless participation in Brotherhood events. Sometimes, I don't know how Macron still does it, and I just wish I still had the time to be even half the member he is today.

Macron, you continue to inspire even the oldest of us, and I thank you again for everything you do for this club!

Primary reason

Wuntila Entar is the keystone of this fine Clan. His indomitable will, outgoing nature, honest good intentions and frank ability to speak his mind are the cement which holds us together, and without him I have little doubt that we’d not be nearly as strong as we are today – perhaps not even worthy of Clan. His accomplishments are myriad. In terms of medals, he’s earned a Grand Cross, 4 Crescents with Sapphire stars, 2 Crescents with Emerald stars, A Seal of Loyalty, An Anteian Cross, a Crescent with a Ruby star and two Seals of Return. However, it’s his projects that really speak home about how much of a boon to Arcona he truly is.<br><br>

Implementation of Arcona Military system: For this he constructed a team for the authoring and construction of the wiki pages, with detailed analysis into Arcona’s history, member development and room for expansion. In essence, it gave a new, exciting and accessible layer to character fictional development, along with uniting those who are now within different houses or units. It revived some of Arcona’s unity and strength and it was a fundamental project in the reshaped, redefined Arcona. Not only this, but it gave members, new and old, an opportunity to put their two cents into an exciting new project which has thrived under the current administration.<br><br>

Summit duties: As Aedile and Proconsul, he has worked tirelessly to bring activity back into the old, relatively stagnant Arcona. This was achieved through many different paths. Fundamentally, competitions were a starting point. He hosted regular competitions, large and small, in order to really connect with the members and tease out some of the talent Arcona has to show. This, along with the success of the Communication Breakdown Run-On, wherein many Arconans, along with the Tarenti, became involved in the fictional development and training purposes of the event provided a stable ground where Arcona could practice in its downfall – Run-Ons. This not only brought some of the old, less in-tune members, but it inspired others outside of Arconan reach to really aspire to group together and flourish as a result. He has also been involved in all major summit tasks, from the supervision of the new and improved house location of Port Ol’val by House Qel-Droma and the recently released Battleteam Revenance Virtuom. These two constructions have provided activity in abundance, as well as providing yet another opportunity for members to put their own stamp on Arcona as a whole. He holds regular meetings, whether necessary or not, to ensure that the Summit is working to an acceptable standard and to inform the summit of any given change in the Arconan agenda. He has fulfilled the usual summit tasks and taken it upon himself to award every single member who proves their worth the minute their work is processed. This has ultimately brought about the well-oiled machine that Arcona currently is and it doesn’t seem to be slowing.<br><br>

Co-Author of the Operations system which has been adopted DB-Wide: Wuntila and the Consul both constructed the idea of Operations, wherein individuals may participate in a range of competitions to suit their own personal needs. Those who were polymaths were indeed showered with praise, but those who were not in such a position to possess skills in every field were given the opportunity to become part of Arconan history. This success branched from Operation: Haystack into the following and enabled members (In each and every competition) to be written into the Arconan Story Arc.<br><br>

Numerous Arcona-Related tasks: Wuntila has also been charged with the constant training of the Quaestors and Aediles for their positions and maintaining order within the two houses. This task has been not only rewarding for all involved, but essential in the development of Clan Arcona. Both Houses’ Quaestors and Aediles have been given a helping hand in such a delicate time. The upper summit has worked tirelessly to ensure that members are not only inspired into activity, but they maintain such activity with new, fresh ideas. This sparked the initial idea of Port Ol’val and has disseminated into the very fabric of the houses. Each house member has been approached by their House summit and individually asked what they want to see in the future. This level of friendliness and initiative has only been achieved through the long and arduous process of training.<br><br>

Wuntila was one of the lead authors of the re-clanning proposal which saw Arcona rise from a House back to Clan status. In his capacity as one of the leading authors, he oversaw the writing, construction, formatting and order of issues brought about, taking considerable time to make sure not only his own writing was up to scratch, but that of others. Over a three-day period, he wrote over 10,000 words for both parts of the proposal. Each and every asset Arcona used in said proposal was painstakingly planned out and submitted through the watchful eyes of Wuntila, the Consul, Timeros and myself. It was a mammoth task, but one which Wun took on with passion and it is one of his greatest achievements in the Dark Brotherhood.<br><br>

Finally, as a footnote, it’s worthy to remember that he managed to place 14th in the recent Independence Games after entering only two events (given that he had exams and essay deadlines for university during that period). Wuntila is a man of many, many talents and it’s high time he was rewarded in a manner which reflects this. Well done. – Sashar Arconae.<br><br>

Well, Wuntila has been the heart and soul of Arcona since he rejoined the summit as my Aedile late last year. Since then he has exemplified everything that a leader should be, pioneering schemes to coax activity out of the members and making sure that everyone has something to do and someone to support them. Not only this, but Wuntila has stayed active in his own right, participating in numerous competitions on offer in Arcona and the Brotherhood as a whole, taking part with skill and more often than not, taking one of the top 3 positions when he entered. <br><br>

So, he's a good leader, he's active and he's got the skills that thrill(s). However, it is the personality of Wuntila that truly helps to meld these various parts into the whole that has pulled Arcona through the trials to becoming a Clan once more. He is approachable, friendly and fiercely loyal, all traits that have proven to be exceptionally helpful in his job as the 2IC of Arcona and he commands respect from everyone who deals with him. More than this though, Wuntila has been extremely important when it came to the proposal which was presented with regards to regaining status as Clan. Sam was instrumental in helping to write and present the various arguments and presentations to the Grand Master and his work was integral in getting Arcona regaining Clan status. <br><br>

Wuntila is the best leader I've seen for a long time. He's active, approachable and exceptionally good at his job. He keeps the summit working together and not tearing each other's throats out, and he is possibly one of the most patient people I've worked with in the Brotherhood. He fully deserves this and then some, but hopefully this small token of our thanks will do. <br><br>

Bloody good work Sam, you've more than earned this. – Zandro Arconae<br><br>

When I first met Wuntila, he was already a powerhouse of DJB activity. As a new member in his original Clan, he had already distinguished himself in being active and amazing, a true breath of fresh air in a Brotherhood whose conception of ‘new member’ tends to involve leetspeak and sentences that can only be comprehended through painstaking cryptographic efforts. Wuntila, on the other hand, drew attention by being intelligent, well-spoken and concise, and his joining us was an immense breath of fresh air to Arcona. His innate leadership talent coupled with a fiery and exuberant attitude towards, well, everything has helped propel him first to Aedile of House Arcona, and then in no small due to his efforts exalted us to Clan – and him to Proconsul. As fellow Summit members - though in fairness I must admit that compared to Wuntila, I hardly feel like a leader at all - we worked together on Arcona’s initial proposal for Clanhood, putting together the arguments that would grant us Clanhood. When the Star Chamber raised the first round of counters, he once again took the lead in bringing forth Arcona’s argument and, in no small part thanks to his efforts, we finally gained Clan status.<br><br>

Even after this tremendous achievement, itself more than sufficient to grant a member inclusion as one of Arcona’s pillars, our Proconsul has forged on, creating and refining the operation system of activity, linking together many hitherto disjointed activities into coherent storylines and plots. He has also spent a significant amount of time awarding members and leaders for their efforts, so that no one goes under-appreciated in the Shadow Clan, save himself. Given Wuntila’s activity, I don’t think anything we could offer would be a suitably grand compensation, so I guess a Sapphire Blade will have to do.<br><br> - Timeros Entar Arconae<br><br>

Hm. What to say that can properly portray why Wuntila Zratian Entar deserves this Sapphire Blade without writing so much that 1) I blind you all with a wall of text or 2) that I start to repeat myself. A hard task, clearly. So here we go: <br><br>

To put it baldly, Wuntila is quite possibly one of the best members of the Dark Brotherhood that I have ever seen in my 4 years as a brother, and definitely the most dedicated, active, and hardworking of Arcona’s leaders. I like to tell myself that Wuntila is “di Tenebrous Arconae” in everything but name; he’s always around, always available to offer advice or help mentor a member (be they new or old), give feedback on ideas. <br><br>

When it comes to being the Proconsul of Arcona, Wun never has a low supply of praise for his subordinates, but only when they deserve it, and trust me, when said subordinates need a strict talking to or (virtual) cuff on the back of the head…he’s always there. But that’s what makes Wuntila such a great leader, he’s proficient in both areas of leadership and in the areas that he falls short in, of which there aren’t many, his dynamic relationship with Zandro Erinos Arconae, our Consul, quickly balances it out. <br><br>

Additionally, Wuntila’s contributions to the Clan, beyond just sitting in the position of Proconsul, are numerous. I’ll let the Activity List that will be submitted with this recommendation show the exact details of what he’s done but let me capitalize on two points of great import: <br><br>

Without Wuntila, Arcona would not have regained Clan Status. 2) Without Wuntila, Arcona would still sport a defunct Order of Battle, with a “so-so” military. Now, Arcona boasts a diverse military, consisting of four branches that not only is more “modern”, but also allows members to join and advance within their branch of choice dependent on their Prestige Rankings. <br><br>

The final thing I’d like to add is that Wuntila doesn’t quit when the going gets tough; recently, Wun had an accident concerning his laptop that, for the most part, put him out of contact with the rest of the Clan. This was at a time when we were running one of our joint-Operations with House Tarentum and having our leaders present and visible was quite important. <br><br>

However, despite Wun being “screwed” and when just taking a step away from the Brotherhood would be the easiest thing to do, he dominated his mobile device to stay on mIRC as much as he could and constantly sent out updates to the Arconan Summit from an older computer. That right there is dedication and loyalty. That right there is what makes Wuntila Zratian Entar a great friend, mentor, and leader. And that right there is why he deserves a Sapphire Blade. Congratulations, Wun! Definitely well earned! <br><br> Talos Erinos<br><br>

As I write this reccomendatin for Wun, I can't help but think back to when I was trying to pull his leg just to get him to be a BTL with me. Who would have thought that he would exceed even that, climbing from Aedile, to Proconsul? I knew it all along, and Wun has continued to prove that he is one of the finest members of not just Arcona, but the entire brotherhood. He asserts his leadership better than anyone I've ever served under. He is inspiring, passionate, and cares more about his members than himself. It's this selfless drive that makes Wun so great. He doesn't mind being the "bad guy" in a situation if it means getting the job done, and doing what's best for the House. I'm not one for long drawn out reccs, but feel that I shouldn't need to, honestly. His actions speak for themselves, and there is no one else I would rather throw my weight behind and support in a given task. He is a great leader, a good friend, and a better person.<br><br> Marick del’Abbot

I was talking with Ceth about this the other day. Who’d have ever guessed that A: I’d be able to get over myself and give him a chance, and B: he’d actually be able to make something of himself in Arcona’s summit? Neither of us, that’s for sure, but make it he has. And he’s even gone one step better and excelled. I’ll get the boring necessary stuff out of the way first, to prove that he actually deserves the reward before we start saying how he’s a step away from solving world hunger whilst composing a concerto, pleasing my mother in a way my dad never thought possible AND delivering the 9th reincarnation of the Buddha.

Heeeeere we go! Right, in terms of medals, since his last promotion, he’s earned fifteen Seals of Unity, A Grand Cross of the Dark Side, three Dark Crosses, two Scrolls of Foundation, a Legion of the Scholar, five Crescents with Emerald Stars, One hundred and forty two (!!!) Clusters of Fire, a Pendant of Blood, a Crescent with Sapphire Star, a Crescent with Amethyst Star, a Crescent with Topaz Star, a Steel Cross, five Seals of Bone, a Seal of Loyalty and finally fourteen Clusters of Ice. This is insane. That’s JUST the medals!

Next up: His leadership. He’s got a Dark Maven for service to the SA (which he’s still doing and has been for 4 months previously as Professor or something), been Quaestor of Exar Kun for about two months, Battleteam Leader of Wolf Guard and Shadow gate for a combined time of 5 months, Aedile of Galeres for a month, and Quaestor of Galeres for two months previously and still holds the position today. That’s a combined time of about 14 months in various leadership roles. He doesn’t just collected failed summit positions, either; he’s worked damn, damn hard to better whatever he’s put in command of and puts out prompt reports, has run a total of twenty competitions (if you really, really want me to list them all I can) – he’s brought in new members from Myspace, Fabook, Twitter and Bebo through a DB advertising campaign (which he headed up), He’s run the War of Domination for Galeres, which brought about a marked increase in activity with his House; always nice to see. He’s tried his hand at the Arcona wiki revamp project, participated in 5 ACC matches, is NEVER off IRC, run Clan Arcona IRC trivia, trained up BTLs in Galeres in the form of Inarya and Maaks, honestly he can do it all. There is nothing he cannot manage as a leader (other than apparently using a spell checker) and is well overdue for a promotion. Okay, I need to pause for breath, but you see where I’m coming from, right? The activity listed is superhuman. Titanic. It probably outshines some clans, and it deserves recognition.

Good job, mate. You’ve put us all to shame with your activity, especially in the face of such adversity.

Sashar Arconae

Well, what more is there really to say about Cethgus that hasn’t already been mentioned here. He and I haven’t always necessarily seen eye to eye, but I feel that everyone can accept that Cethgus cares a great deal about this club and every day he works to improve it in his own way. He is always there with advice and help where it is needed, his enthusiasm is always refreshing and surprisingly unique and he is always online, chipping in and adding his own output to whatever is going on at the time. He is supremely active, gleefully flooding my inbox regularly with medal reports from his escapades into the gaming that is on offer in the Brotherhood along with also submitting fictions and helping to run things in the background as and when it is required. His work in the Shadow Academy has already been mentioned by the Headmaster, but it just goes to show that he is not one-dimensional, diversifying himself and spreading himself wide but not thinly, not letting any part of his activity falter at the expense of another. I could harp on all day, but I’d just be reiterating what has already been said, so allow me to sum it all up; Cethgus is one of those few members whose work more than deserves to be rewarded with a sacramental medal. He has worked to better himself, he has worked to better Arcona and he has worked to better the Brotherhood as a whole with his work as a Professor in the Shadow Academy and a member of the gaming staff. He is a prize that Arcona is proud to possess, and long may we do so. Congratulations Cethgus, this is more than deserved. Keep up the good work and give me an excuse to stroke your ego some more in the future.

Ceth has been on my staff for a bit over 4 months now, and in that time he has done one heck of a job. He's always been suggesting competitions including Old versus New, Naruto Special Gaming event, the Halo Reach Tourny, and several others that are on our calendar that is coming up. He constantly games, and evidence to that is the 313 matches that he played in the month of February, beating a record that was set by Smoke back in August which was 293, but also as further evidence to this fact, there hasn't been a month that he did not rank up in the GMRG. He was originally scripted to make sure that everything that I did while on the Gaming Servers that I had acquired ran smoothly and that I didn't make any mistake. Cethgus also wrote the original Sections in the RoC for the Halo Series, Alien versus Predator, and Star Craft 2. He also took over administration of the training days, where he makes sure that we have enough trainers for the respective games, as well as informing our members of our training days, and making sure that the trainers are ready for the training days. On the training days it self, he tracks how many hours the trainer has been training, as well as how many matches, and at the end of the day he awards the trainees the CF's that they had earned for that day. Finally, he was a major part of of Project Icon. He created the General Rules for Matchmaking and the Free For All sections in the RoC. Thanks Ceth for all you do and Congrats on your award dude!
