Since Esca’s return he has been an absolute powerhouse of activity and slammed all of that repressed DB action into just a few short months. I think the years away might have made him feral if my destroyed inbox is any indication. Esca is, unfortunately, a member that I cannot speak of from past endeavors, but there are many who can and do from several Dark Summit tenures as well as several clan summits. The recommendations in his dossier speak volumes of the work he has put in to our club over a period of many years, which is a top requirement for obtaining the rank of Elder. While I elaborate on only everything since his return, my colleagues will speak of the years prior.

Since his return to Vizsla on March 23rd of this year, he has worked closely with the Summit on concepts and designs for several new ships that will be used in our ongoing Clan fictions. He helped to proof, concept, and even write our most recent teaser piece for our Clan report. Alongside being a pivotal element of Vizsla’s resurgence in activity both for competitions and gaming, in such a short time he has already accumulated 79 competition entries, 80 gaming activities, earning 6 Crescents with a Diamond Star, 8 Ruby Stars, 8 Amethyst Stars, 7 Sapphire Star, and 9 Emerald Stars along with 1285 Clusters of Earth and 1281 Clusters of Fire. Again, this is just activity since his return in March, let alone what his career in the DB will show. With 67949 experience earned throughout his long career in the DB, it is time Arcia joined the ranks of the Elders. Congratulations!

While the running joke for many years is that Esca is “the hat” he is actually a rock…in a good way. In the time I’ve known Esca, going back to being QUAs together in Arcona, he has been nothing but a rock solid leader. He is a natural leader that holds himself to a high standard and isn’t shy about letting his peer leaders and superiors know if they are slipping on theirs.

More specifically I’d like to speak to how in the time since his last promotion, he made his mark on Odan-Urr. As I detailed in a Grand Cross Esca came to COU at a time of great change. We were new at being a clan and our freshly-created houses needed a firm hand at the wheel to get them on a solid foundation. He directed the creation of the house’s new planet, fictional direction and took the time to mentor his junior summit members so they would be set up for future success. Esca not only set the bar for summit leadership high but he helped others to reach it.

The secret to Esca is that beneath that sometimes grumpy exterior is a sincere desire to provide the highest quality experience for members and to set up future leaders to be the best they can. His entire body of work, taken as a whole, speaks to that. I can think of no higher qualification for an Elder. Esca has walked the walk of an Elder long before today as he takes his rightful place in the Elder ranks.

I have been advocating for Esca's promotion to Elder for over 4 years. In 2020 I submitted a promotion request that is statistically inferior to the one already written on this request. I can add some additional context though. In my submission from 2020 we were told that Esca was "almost there." Since that time he has entered the club's top five all time in Clusters of Earth recently surpassing 10,000 CEs. A more impressive number is actually how many Clusters of Earth Esca has earned just at his current rank. That would place him sixth all time in our Club. Esca has also tacked on two additional assignments on the Herald Staff where he was instrumental in the development of art for our members as well as his tremendous influence on the Art Society. Esca authored the Clan Vizsla House Wren proposal that was approved by the DC several years ago (but still at his current rank). Esca also authored and was the brains behind the addition of Naval Ranks for our club members.

Esca is an amazing club consumer who touches nearly all forms of activity. Esca is an amazing club creator who has contributed to organizations and systems that have been club altering. Esca is an amazing member who remains a great example for any member to follow.

It will great to see this promotion cross the goal line and give recognition to one of our Club's amazing members.

Since Arcia’s last promotion in 2016, he has made considerable contributions to many aspects of the Brotherhood. Having served in myriad roles within Arcona, Odan-Urr, and being known as a founding member of Vizsla, his contributions to Clan history, development, and day-to-day engagement can’t be understated.

Aside from his activity as a regular member of the Club, you can look back on his previous awards and see the contributions he made when serving nearly two years as Praetor to the Herald, where he acted as the right-hand to the then Herald in establishing the Shroud Syndicate. He was present and involved from the very beginning and saw the project to its completion.

Socorra spoke about his activity since his return to Vizsla. However, when reviewing his accomplishments since 2016, he has organized or co-organized 35 competitions, participated in 340, completed 4 ACC matches, and contributed 9 News Posts. He has earned an Amethyst Kukri, Sapphire Blade, 3 Grand Crosses, 2 Steel Crosses, 2 Dark Crosses, 2 Gold Novae, 6 Silver Novae, 4 Bronze Novae, a combined 129 Crescents, 16 Pendants of Blood, along with 17,908 total Clusters, while also serving 36 months in roles ranging from Proconsul, Quaestor, Praetor, Aedile, and Magistrate.

Alongside all of this, since his return in March, he has helped develop our updates to possessions, our fictional direction for the Clan, and spearheaded gaming activity. He has been instrumental in developing the two new ships we are creating. As an active member of our fiction team, he contributes daily to our success. All of his contributions, activity, and dedication to the Dark Brotherhood show that he belongs as an Elder among his peers.

Thank you for everything you have done, Arcia. On a personal note, as one of the individuals who helped train me, guide me, and often fight with me for well over a decade now, I’m glad to have the opportunity to welcome you to the ranks of Elders.

Oh boy howdy, a hat recc? This is a long time coming. The sentient ballcap known to some as Esca has such a storied career, but the best I can speak to of it is his time in Arcona, where he served as my Proconsul and right hand hat for over a year. Before that, he was one of my Quaestors to House Galeres, and before that, an infamous Battle Team Leader of the Nighthawk. Esca was a pillar in the Arconan summit for years, weathering with me all kinds of struggles and our continued push for change and growth as a Clan that contributed to the home that Arcona is today for so many. Whether he was beating his brim against spreadsheets, writing awards, managing our House summits or corralling my most rainbow impulses (mixed success, there; the fleet's still rainbow, buddy) he was there for me and his Clan. That his service continued into the Herald offices and across the Brotherhood in multiple Clans was never a surprise or a bad sign. It was a gift to our greater whole.

Dismal/Corrina/Katrila is a member with many names and a history both in our clan and the club dating back quite a few years that includes quite a few different roles in the club (10!!), many of which I’m sure are just made up (seriously, what is an Eclectic Pedagogue?!). Kat recently returned to the club curious to see what had changed and eager to learn more about the changes they had missed out on. And on the most sacred of Star Wars dates, May the 4th, Kat came home to Plagueis.

I’m going to paraphrase a quote here: “The only way to learn is by earning degrees. The only way to earn degrees is by jumping headfirst into the Shadow Academy. And the only way to begin is by beginning. And, without further ado, that’s...just what Kat did.” Since her return to Plag, Kat has been tearing through the Shadow Academy and flooding inboxes eager to learn anything and everything possible about the club, the history she’s missed and all of the wild and crazy changes over the years. Since her last promotion, Kat has completed a whopping 46 SA courses and earned 7 degrees, 35 of the courses and 5 of the degrees have just been since her return, all in the pursuit of knowledge!

Since her last promotion, Kat has competed in 46 competitions, placing in 8 and earning herself some shinnies including a Gold Novae, 2 Crescent with Sapphire Star, 1 with Emerald Star, 3 with Topaz Star, and 1 with Topaz Star. Kat has dipped her toes into a few different aspects of the club including gaming with an impressive 314 Clusters of Fire earned, and fiction earning 5 Clusters of Ice. All-in-all Kat’s efforts since her promotion to the Equite ranks has earned her (prepare for the list!) 13 society ranks, a Sapphire Blade, a Steel Cross, an Anteian Cross, 2 Dark Crosses, 4 Dark Side Scrolls, 1 Scroll of the Master, 2 Legion of the Scholar, 9 Seals of Pain and 3 Seal of Unity. Outside of the site tracked metrics, Kat has been an active voice on discord meeting and remeeting members both new and old and generally being a positive voice not afraid to jump into a conversation, learn more about the other members of the club and ask questions. It is an absolute pleasure to be able to congratulate Katrila on a well deserved promotion to Equite 2, welcome home!!
