First of all, I'm going to be writing this referring to the member as Brain. I'm sorry, I know that's not his name anymore, but he's Brain to me.

Brain is an awesome member, one who always swings for the fences and goes above and beyond. In the 21 days of being a Defender, the guy barely stopped activity even when confronted with the rhinovirus (Not the common cold, because that's not cool enough for a guy like Brain) In these 21 days, he completed 11 competitions, including but not limited to Brotherhood Mad Libs!, Flashpoint Fun!, Monthly Mobile Gaming: Clumsy Bird (Android), and GMRG Gorefest: February 2014. He earned 4 PoB's, Passed the Leadership Fundamentals and Studies, got to the Third Rank in both the SA Society and the GMRG, placed in 2 out the 11 competitions (so far) he entered, earned 500 clusters of fire, and worked his keester off for a merit medal. On top of this, the guy is nearly always on IRC and the mailing lists.

Brain/Edgar, I love you buddy. I hope you realize how special you are to this House. Keep it up!

Primary reason

I am pleased to declare that Rrogon Skar is eligible for elevation to the status of Jedi Hunter, having achieved what has been asked of him.

First of all, he is a frequent visitor to the #arcona IRC channel, where he often joins in with or initiates conversations with not only his fellow Arconans, but others from the Brotherhood as well.

He has also been active when it comes to doing competitions, having completed no less than 6 and also placing in one of these. This activity is further bolstered by the fact that he so far obtained 81 Clusters of Fire.

Character development has been an area that Skar has particularly enjoyed, having written over five thousand words in various fictions.

Finally, he has been a Guardian for the requisit 21 days.

Congrats, Skar. Just one away from that saber now. ;)

Primary reason

Turel Sorenn is a shining example of a member completely devoted to the prosperity of his House. He regularly goes above expectations, taking everything from competition submissions, wiki articles, and ideas to the next level. He has had a guiding hand in both the planning and creation of the third Battle Team within House Odan-Urr: The Disciples of Baas, having been invitied into the Super-Secret-Project-Committee, where he was able to share and evolve ideas in a very constructive discussion. As the future nears, I have no doubts that Turel will move on to similar projects that will aid the Brotherhood in countless posibilities. He has already proven to be a hard-working and dedicated individual, often placing at the pinnacle of activity. It isn't often when a member reaches the last step in their way to Knighthood, so with that I would like to congratuate him on attaining the coveted rank of Padawan!

Primary reason

Six and a half years is a long time to spend in the same rank, nevertheless that is how long it has been since Shirai was promoted. He has been with us in Naga Sadow for nearly two years now, prior to coming here he was in Plagueis and while there he participated in numerous competitions and Brotherhood wide events throughout the years, placing in some of them as well.

Since joining us his activity hasn’t let up, he participated in a third of the events in last years Dark Crusade, took part in the clan wide event Children of Revolution, the Summer Invasion with Scholae Palatinae and Plagueis, the Crusade Prologue event to take the SSD Avenger II and most recently the Clan Artisans in January and Fading Lights where the team he was on managed to write by far the longest story of all teams participating, with Shirai writing five posts despite the fact that he was relegated to using his phone at the time due to computer trouble.

He has also served nearly six months as Aedile of Shar Dakhan, and most recently he stepped up and took over as Quaestor when Mirado resigned. In both cases he has been quick to offer people help and encouragement when they needed it and he has been leading by example as shown by his activity above.

It is with great pleasure that I can promote him to Sith Battlemaster. Congratulations Shirai!

Master Malik Sadow, 2014-03-27 20:47:46 UTC
Additional reasons

As Aedile he's been an inspiration with continued activity, reports, and being generally helpful. He's maintained a strong presence within the clan and been a huge player in the last few RO's that we've done. Especially in this past one for the Dark Crusade. And now he's taken up the mantel of acting Quaestor. Shirai has proven himself to be an incredibly dedicated asset to the clan and his house. He is more than deserving of this promotion and I believe it is past due.

Lak Nafri, 2014-03-27 20:42:05 UTC

Warrior Shirai Ryu Dupar has been in CNS for almost two years now and he has show that his dedication to this clan and his motivation to help have no limit. He came to us in June of 2012 as a Krath Priest and since then has excelled at every aspect of this club and has not failed to let his leadership down. Since joining CNS Shirai as earn 17 CFs, 25 CIs, two Dark Cross, a Silver Nova, Anteian Cross, and Crescent with Amethyst Star. He served as Aedile of Shar Dakhan for five successful months until he stepped up and took on the duties of Quaestor after the previous one departed. This is something not a lot do and Shirai earn my praise for it as I know he did from others. He has more than fulfilled his time requirement since last being promoted and has shown the leadership skills and work ethic deserving of an elevation.

Therefore it is my judgement in the name of the Dark Side that I, Jeric Cyrin, Battlelord of the Sith, Quaestor of Marka Ragnos Emeritus and Leader of Battleteam Shadow’s Bane do herby recommend Shirai Ryu Dupar be elevated to the rank of Sith Battlemaster. Congratulations!

Jeric Cyrin, 2014-03-27 20:42:56 UTC

I can't say how proud I am to see my Apprentice get what he deserves. Shirai suffered from the unfortunate fact that a couple of activities before Clan Naga Sadow were lost. (Which should tell people to not wait too long with rewarding people; to reward them when they transfer out of a unit, so activities aren't lost - and people need to track their own activities!)

Through eight years he hasn't stopped being active. Each of the eight years show activities. He has served as an Aedile, two times as a Battle Team Leader, has earned a couple of Clusters, Novae, took part in the Crusade, Fading Light, and so forth. I am happy to have him in Clan Naga Sadow. I am happy to have him as my Apprentice.

Congratulations Sith Battlemaster Shirai!

Sildrin Lyonsbane, 2014-03-27 20:43:54 UTC

Since his last elevation on 11/19/07 Shirai has:

Served as a BTL twice, served as an Aedile, and is currently the acting QUA of HSD. He has earned 2 CrE, 3 CrT, and 1 CrA, earned 37 Clusters of Fire, earned 18 Clusters of Ice, earned 2 Silver Novae, earned 2 Dark Crosses, earned 1 Anteian Cross, earned one Seal of Remembrance, One Seal of Unity, and 3 Seals of Decimation. As well, he's served in the Crusade quite handily although the Seals (or medallions) have not come out yet for that series of events. Shirai serves as an example of what a motivated leader is all about. I had the pleasure of working with him directly in the recent Clan-wide RO event (that we won), as well as in Fading Light where our team posted the most of any of the DB teams. His motivation was outstanding. Shirai has waited quite a long time to be promoted, and in my opinion has earned Equite Two handily.

Adept Macron Goura Sadow, 2014-03-27 20:44:39 UTC

I've known Shirai for nearly two years now - from when he first transferred to Naga Sadow in the middle of 2012. He soon proved to be a great member to have around, as he was very active in competitions. But it was not only that that I liked about Shirai - he was always a great leader. His dossier will show that Shirai has led units before, but witnessing that in action is something else. Right after transferring to CNS he joined into our Runon events and immediately began helping newbies and other members craft interesting stories while helping them stay interested.

When I was Consul, Shirai was the kind of member I was glad to have. He was active himself, and he encouraged others to do the same, while helping to maintain an energetic and positive atmosphere.

More recently, Shirai became Aedile of House Shar Dakhan. In this role he continued to be active. A great example of Shirai's leadership and activity took place in the recent Clan Artisans event, where his team not only won the Runon competition, but also came out of it with a great piece of lore - the Four Horsemen of Sadow. Concepts like this are the sort of thing that make people think "wow, this is a cool place to be" and I know Shirai is one of the guys implementing those concepts.

Then, just 24 hours ago, I became Shirai's Aedile as he moved up to Quaestor. He immediately has shown that he means to take this position seriously. As acting Quaestor he was in constant communication with the House. SInce finding out I would be his second in command, we've had a great bit of communication back and forth and he has bombarded me with ideas and plans, in a good way. This is a third example of how Shirai's energy, drive, and creativity make him a great guy to have around.

Shirai is dedicated to his Clan. He is always on IRC and participating in emails. He leads from the front, showing strong participation in Runons and other events. He is creative and helps shape important ideas and programs for Naga Sadow in our Summit chats.

Thus, I find Shirai Ryu Dupar worthy of ascension to the rank of Sith Battlemaster! Congratulations, Shirai!

Epis Locke Sonjie, 2014-03-27 20:45:55 UTC

Medals, leadership, dedication, Shirai has all of them and then more. For nearly eight years now -- I will say that I again, to allow it to sink in -- for nearly eight years now, not in fast-forwarded Star Wars time, not in some Einsteinian relativistic space anomaly, but eight real, actual, genuine years of his real life Shirai has remained a constant presence, whether it has been in Clan Naga Sadow or before that Clan Plagueis. With just one brief look at his history, one sees awards in every single year from 2008 to the present. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014... for eight years, Shirai has remained a member, taken part, contributed, and at present, even given back, with him as of writing the Aedile and acting Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan. That is a monumental commitment, and something worthy of praise in itself.

If I think back to where I was in life eight years ago, and where any of my friends were, it is bewildering when one realises how long Shirai has remained an active contributor to this place we all call home without him asking anything in return. To take just one shining example, most recently he has taken part in the Fading Light epilogue of the Dark Crusade, in which his Run-On team clocked up the most posts and longest story of all the teams -- and this he helped achieve after a computer failure that left him with only a mobile phone to work on. That is dedication for you right there.

I could go on, but it would be a disservice to Shirai, when the simple fact is how much he has clearly already done -- and done again -- to warrant an elevation to the next rank, and for that I warmly extend my heartfelt congratulations to him and hope his long years of commitment continue for many more.

Having Brimstone as your master certainly helps, but Vassago is all over the place. He's active over email, IRC, he participated in one of Plagueis' Fading Light Run-On Teams, recently qualified for the ACC so he can continue representing Plagueis in Fading Light. He has been passing Shadow Academy courses and working with Brim to develop character fictions that not only result in a solid character article on the Wiki but also give other members writing about Vassago (hint: in the RO) more to work with. I never doubt his dedication, and am excited to push him one step closer to Knighthood ~ DA Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar, Rollmaster of Clan Plagueis

Primary reason

All too often, recommendations read like a laundry list of accomplishments. A requisite string of competition victories, completed projects and a ticking clock of how long someone has served in myriad posts. I'll let others write those lists out. While important in their own right, there are more important determining factors.

I've heard it said before that the true measure of a man is not known until he's made a mistake. It is in those moments, that people are forced to make a decision, to determine which path that they will take. There are many who, when faced with such, turn tail, cut losses and run. Rarer still are those who acknowledge the failure and work to move beyond it, to prove that they were more than just that one incident. Selika, once known as Solus, has chosen the more difficult path, and this is why I write.

It's not easy. It's not supposed to be, because achievement would be meaningless without struggle. But I find myself very pleasantly surprised by not only his work, of which there is copious amounts, but also for his attitude about it all. There is no bitterness in his voice, there is no limp in his spirit. There is only the dogged determination to do more, to prove himself, to prove what he is when no one is really looking. That's not done for medals. It's not done for pixels on a website. It's done for love. Love of the game, love for his friends, love for his clanmates, and love for the Brotherhood. This is the driving force behind every great member that the brotherhood has ever known, and one that I hope he keeps in his heart. It is my pleasure to recognize and recommend Selika for promotion. Thank you. ~ Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith

Selika Roh, dedicated member, unwavering mentor, consummate leader, and loyal friend. Today, it is both my honor and privilege to whole heartily recommend that he be promoted to the rank of Krath Epis. When considering a senior level Equite promotion, in this instance EQ3, I find myself utilizing a rather simple scale by which I assess one’s personal achievements, Clan contributions, and DJB wide impact. In this recommendation I will speak to each of the three to highlight his unquestionable level of deservedness for this promotion.

In terms of personal achievements since his last promotion, Selika Roh has accumulated an impressive list the likes of which a majority of members will never attain during the entirety of their time in the DJB. In roughly a two year time frame, he has managed to accumulate the following number and category of awards: 2 Sacramental, 5 Merit, 17 Nova, 12 Crescent, 16 Pendant of Blood, 2683 Cluster of Fire, 10 Cluster of Ice, 10 Scrolls, and 26 Seal. In addition, Selika is a level XI graduate summa cum laude, a Shadow Academy Society rank surpassed by only one other person in the Brotherhood. Furthermore, he has reached the highest level within the GMRG. An impressive list by any standard, however it must be stated that the aforementioned accolades do more than just highlight the quality of his work. In fact, it speaks more to his personal drive and unquestionable dedication to success in multiple facets of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. As a leader within the Brotherhood we encourage members to take full advantage of everything the organization has to offer. To a staggering degree of proficiency Selika, the Second Hero of the Dark Crusade and First Hero of Horizons, has done just that, and from a personal achievement vantage is more than deserving of this promotion.

In terms of Clan contributions, his efforts are unrivaled within Clan Plagueis. Upon joining the organization I was immediately made aware of this. A few of those key initiatives that he was directly involved in included fictional developments, wiki updates, fleet acquisitions, and eventually reclanning. In a time of high turnover and subsequent turmoil he was a guiding light that kept the organization moving forward despite overwhelming odds. It should be noted that Selika did all of this from the shadows expecting nothing in return. However, his impact to the Clan is not limited to behind the scene systems and processes. Indeed, you would be hard pressed to find someone within the Clan who has not sought out his expertise in pursuit of mentorship. His expertise and attention to detail is evident in all he does for the good of Clan Plagueis. His passion for the organization drives his efforts and the result is a Clan that is undeniably better with him on the team. Without a doubt from the Clan contribution stance he is more than deserving of this promotion.

In terms of DJB wide impact his efforts are definitely apparent. Having served as a P:HM for 165 days, Aedile for 87 days, Docent for 263 days, and Wiki staffer for 448 days, you would be hard pressed to argue the scope and impact of his work as it applies to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Having served notably in each position he selflessly worked day in and day out towards improving systems and processes that are still utilized today. Bottom line, Selika has worked and will continue to work diligently towards organizational improvement through both unprompted initiatives and command directives. It is this level of effort that we should seek to highlight and reward. In this instance, his DJB wide impact merits a promotion.

KE Selika Roh, dedicated member, unwavering mentor, consummate leader, and loyal friend. Thank you for all that you do. Let this promotion serve as a token of appreciation from the team for all that you have done and will undoubtedly continue to do to make the Dark Jedi Brotherhood a better place. ~ SBL Montresor, Consul of Clan Plagueis

Slagar is the hardest working member of Clan Plagueis. He was instrumental in tracking and analyzing Crusade performance, motivating his comrades, and attacking each and every event in a deliberate and extremely successful manner. His efforts extend from reworking numerous Clan wiki pages, to serving as Plagueis' fleet architect, to acting as a collaborator and sounding board for his fellow members and the house and clan summits.

On top of all of that, he has been one of Plagueis' most active competition participants and one of its most prolific gamers, racking up thousands of clusters of fire and dozens of novae and crescents since his last promotion -- not to mention a Sapphire Blade for his excellent Crusade performance.

He has spent many hours working to repair frayed relationships and build a solid foundation for the Clan's continued success. Without Slagar, we truly would not be where we are today. Congratulations, Slag, on this well-earned promotion. ~ SWL Dacien Victae di Plagia, Proconsul of Clan Plagueis

I have known Selika/Slag less time than the other people writing recommendations for his promotion today, yet in that time he has, day in and out, impressed me with his unquestionable work ethic and resolve to push the now Clan Plagueis forward. When I first came back from Rogue status, Slag was one of the first three people to contact me just to get to know me. He then immediately started getting me up to date on the Dark Crusade and involved in the Special Forces team. He was instrumental in our Gold placement in the Advertising event, instrumental in putting together the Proposal for Clanhood that we submitted to Muz, instrumental in the updating and writing of various Plagueis Wiki articles, and during all of this stellar leadership (responsibilities he volunteered for and delivered on despite not holding an actual position) he was also an active member as his DJB History rundown proves. Slag is without doubt one of the top players of Plagueis, the clan would not be the same without him, and I'm happy to contribute to this well and hard earned promotion ~ DA Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar, Rollmaster of Clan Plagueis

There are so many things I could put in this recommendation, but I don’t want it to turn into one of Solus/Selika’s massive fictions. Quite simply, he has been one of the keystones of the unit. There isn’t a project he wouldn’t take on and there was hardly one he didn’t assist with in some way. From simple tasks like building tracking spreadsheets to the most critical of fictional development tasks, he has always been there to do whatever he could to better Plagueis. Selika’s worth to the unit goes far beyond the work he did. He also served as both a mentor and motivator. There have been times when any number of people, myself included, needed something to keep us motivated and active. Selika was always there to provide whatever was needed, be it an encouraging word or a swift kick in the rear. Beyond that he has also always been willing to help out new members both navigating the sometimes confusing promotion path (a document he primarily developed) and occasionally kicking behind on TOR. I think I can safely say that Plagueis wouldn’t be where it is today without Selika and he is fully deserving of promotion. ~ SBM Kz’set, Quaestor of Karness Muur
