I have had the pleasure of working closely with Nikola Valtiere over the past five months as his Aedile, when he stepped into the Battleteam Leader position within Void Squadron the Battleteam was a bit light on members. He immediately began working to recruit from within the House and has since been able to double the size of the Battleteam he started with. As Void began growing Will recognized the value in creating an incentive based system for the unit and created two distinctive unit awards. The most common being a Service Stud to be placed on each Void Pilot's helmet, this is earned by participating in Brotherhood wide events. The second is the coveted Wings, which are only given to the elite of Void Squadron. The result of Will's planning is evident when Void Squadron's record so far through the Dark Crusade is examined. The Battleteam has averaged 2.2 events per member through the Crusade thus far, a rating any House or Clan would be proud to boast.

Not only has Will focused on his Battleteam, but his individual accomplishments stand out on their own. He has led by example with near perfect participation in all rounds of the Crusade, missing a total of only one event so far. Between the May and July rounds of the Crusade House Qel-Droma ran a mini-event for their members, Nikola planned and ran a Gaming competition as part of the event. Never content to sit on the sidelines he went on to win the overall Event, despite being at a disadvantage as he couldn't participate in his own competition!

Nikola's leadership and level of activity has been very strong and extremely consistent. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I am honored to welcome him to the Sith Equites! Congratulations on Sith Warrior Will! Keep up the great work!

Since his Knighthood, Valtiere has continued to impress as leader of Void. In particular, he has been extremely supportive of the newer members in their own quests towards Dark Jedi Knight, despite having only just taken on his first apprentice. This support is a perfect example of Will's ability to support other leaders, and I am fully confident that he will continue demonstrating that he is a valuable asset in Arcona's leadership team.

Valtiere is an example member as well as leader in Arcona. By this I mean he leads by his example and sets the bar for the rest of the members not just in his own unit, but in the entire Clan. He has become a staple of the Arcona Summit in helping formulate solutions to problems such as member retention, and the task of making a Battleteam that is typically "just for pilots" appealing. He has done so as Void Squadron's roster has grown substantially since he inherited the team. I have been a leader in Arcona since Void Squadrons conception and I can safely say that Valt is the best Battleteam Leader the unit has ever had.

In Arcona, we hold our BTL's to a different standard than most. Each round of the Crusade, Valt has risen to the occasion, regardless of how busy his real life schedule was. Most recently on Svolten he went 5/6, giving him a grand total of 20/23 entries for the entire Dark Crusade.

For his hard work and dedication through a year long Vendetta, I am pleased to join in congratulating Valtiere on his elevation to the rank of Equites.

Valkish has completed the requirements for promotion to the rank of Disciple by creating an account on the Forums, joining us on mIRC, and earning himself a PoB for leveling to max in the TOR guild (which I am subbing in for his third task). Moloch has returned to activity in the DJB for the Crusade. But he also did half of his work in the time before his return two months ago. He had already taken the Leadership Exam, earned a Merit Medal and been on the forums. In HSP, he visited IRC, ran a competition in the HSP Summer Games, placed with a Silver Nova in Round 3 and completed the rest of the ten competitions. He is a solid writer and will add to the talent of HSP. Mayda Ferium Moloch’s Master

Since returning to the Brotherhood back in May, Moloch has become an outstanding member. Balancing a full real life workload and doing things for the brotherhood can be a hard task to accomplish but Moloch continues to be a reliable member for Scholae Palatinae. Upon returning to the DB he picked up where he left off in terms of working toward Jedi Hunter. Today I am honored to recommend he be advanced to this rank. Moloch has participated in over 10 competitions, including several during the Dark Crusade. His efforts even helped HSP earn a second place with the Wikipedia event in Phase One Chapter 3. He completed the Leadership Fundamentals before his time as a rogue. He has placed in a competition twice, once in the wiki event for the crusade and again back in 2007 for the Competition Project: RESURRECTION. He has earned a Dark Cross as well. Finally most recently he created one of the competitions for the 2013 Summer Games here in HSP (The Judecca Triathelon). This coupled with his finishing the time restraint on getting Jedi Hunter, as well as visiting the house channel on IRC and being registered on the forums means that Moloch has completed the requirements needed to advance. We are very glad that Moloch decided to return to the Brotherhood and came to join us here in Scholae Palatinae. I look forward to continuing to see him advance in this club. Kanis was exhausted, but his muscles had become accustomed to battling at his wits end over the course of the past year in the Crusade. His body was no longer raw, but an instrument of combat.

Marick Arconae waited at the entrance to the Armory door, hands casually clasped behind his back. His cerulean eyes watched the two as they sparred back and forth. It was not long ago that Fet’ai’narun had completed the trials of her own. It was encouraging seeing her turn around and help two others rise towards the challenge as well.

The Proconsul watched how Kanis moved and could see that the Jedi Hunter had learned a lot throughout his battles in the Dark Crusade. Marick realised that it must have been hard for a new recruit to hit the ground running as his Clan was constantly going to war for conquest of far away planets. And yet, Kanis had endured, and continued to fight for his brothers and sisters in Arcona. It was inspiring, to say the least.

Marick raised a hand slowly as he approached. The two Arconans broke away, both bowing with respect towards their Proconsul. Kanis stumbled slightly but managed to recover. Feta shook her head silently as they both looked up.

“Kanis Da’uul,” the Arconae spoke calmly. “It has been brought to my attention by Andrelious that you were responsible for quite some damage against the One Sith down on Svolten. For your bravery, and your efforts so far, Wuntila has deemed you are ready to accept the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, should your mentor so agree.”

Kanis looked over at his Master. Feta nodded her head and offered a small, knowing smile.

Just then, a tall Anzat entered the room carrying something in his hands that was wrapped in a cloth. Legorii Kryotech Entar, Quaestor of House Qel-Droma looked tired from the battle of Svolten but his crimson eyes shone with pride.

“Congratulations, young one,” he said as he extended the cloth towards the Jedi Hunter.

Kanis gingerly reached out for the cloth and unwrapped it. Inside was the smooth metallic cylinder that had been his goal from the very beginning. It was a lightsaber, a real lightsaber. Not one of the ugly clunky armor ones he’d become used to. His grin widened from ear to ear as he took the saber and held it towards his body like a child.

“Welcome to Knighthood, Kanis,” Legorii grinned.

“Arcona Invicta,” Marick and Feta replied in unison.

I am delighted to declare that Kanis Da’uul is ready for the coveted rank of Dark Jedi Knight. He has proven himself to be an active, well-rounded member and I feel that he is more than ready to carry his own lightsaber.

First of all, Kanis has completed a quality Wiki article, being that of his own character, as well as helped with Arcona’s winning Bhargebba article. This shows that he has a keen interest in RP and character development. He has also completed the 42 day time requirement for his next promotion.

In addition to this, Kanis has shown that both taking part in, and running competitions is another strength; he has taken part in 15 competitions in his relatively short DJB career, Fourteen of those being in the Dark Crusade alone! He has organised two events as well, one during the Independence Games and the other in the form of IRC trivia. (Howie got 3rd, sad panda).

Kanis’ consistent, excellent activity has been rewarded with an Anteian Cross, whilst also receiving a Legion of the Scholar for having run a trivia as well. He also completed a 10-page fiction that has been approved by his Proconsul as substantial character development.

For his Summit Task, he created a 1-page survey journal answering 5 Questions posed to him by the Arcona Summit. The questions were geared towards getting feedback from Journeyman going through the trials to get to DJK while in the middle of a year-long Vendetta. The document has been sent to the MAA staff for confirmation. This information is invaluable to the future development of how Arcona handles its new members. He also has been great in recruiting two members: Frimlin and Marrek, from another Role-Playing club. In a volunteer club revolving around its members, Kanis’ recruiting has been a huge boon to helping Arcona continue to develop further.

For all his work and dedication, I am honoured to welcome Kanis as Arcona’s newest Dark Jedi Knight.

Kanis has gone a remarkable 14/23 in the Dark Crusade for participation. In the last two planets alone he has accounted for 10 entries, 4 on Bhargebba, and all 6 events on Svolten! That includes 4 fictions, a poetry contest, and two-run on posts on top of Graphics efforts as well! His suggestions in his survey have already given me hints as to how to better motivate and work with my members. His feedback has been invaluable.

Kanis is a pleasure to have in Arcona and I look forward to watching him continue to grow.

I am thrilled to announce that Marrek is once again eligible for promotion.

Since he joined only six days ago, Marrek has been an excellent example to his fellow Journeymen. Firstly, he is among the most active members in #arcona and on Team Speak, where he has already made some new friends, and has been working well with his new master, Montresor. He has also started to develop his character, as can be seen by the fact that he has begun work on his Wiki page. He even completed his character sheet, before the switch to the new website. His newness has also not stopped him from taking part in competitions, of which he has completed five, including three recent IRC trivia events and two Dark Crusade events. Finally, he has also passed Wiki Basics with an excellent 91%.

Congratulations, Marrek! Qel-Droma and Arcona continue to be impressed. We're lucky to have you, and we hope to continue to help you grow in the Brotherhood.
