Noble Summit,

As Varoth's master I request he be promoted from the rank of Protector to Guardian. He consistently maintains a presence on IRC and Ventrillo, has completed the Krath CORE exam, and has spent the required four weeks as a PRT. Additionally, Varoth has earned well over 15 Clusters of Fire, completed the Antei Combat Center Basics and Grand Master's Royal Guard courses in the Shadow Academy, established and periodically edits his character wiki page, and has earned a Dark Cross. These accomplishments are but a few in a long list of accolades possessed by Varoth. His actions and activity reflect great credit upon himself, Battleteam Primus Pilus, House Plagueis, and the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Thank you,

DJK Kodais Solatus (Krath)/TYR/Plagueis[GMRG: I] [ACC: CL:3] "Victory requires more than mere strength. It requires knowledge, intelligence, stealth, and guile."

Arcona has seen its rough patches. There have been highs; there have been lows. A handful of members have been through it all. One member has been an integral part in this battle. That member is our beloved Proconsul Marick (or as he is affectionately known, Wally). Wally has been a driving force within Arcona since he stepped into the position of BTL of Oblivion Brigade. Even as a BTL he exceeded expectations, becoming an individual who was not afraid to express his opinion, nor stand up to anyone who he felt threatened Arcona. It follows, therefore, that one would assume Wally to be ignorant, obnoxious; the general assumption of Arcona of old. No. This man has more love, more care, more passion than anyone I have ever seen in Arcona. He is one of the nicest, easy-going, pleasant people I have ever had the honour of working with. He is, without a doubt, the single-most influential individual within the Clan. Without his input and support, Arcona would be in a very different situation right now. When he stepped up to the position of Qel-Droma Quaestor, he worked tirelessly to completely revitalise the house. And he succeeded. When he stepped into the position of Proconsul, he worked non-stop to ensure the Clan was a fun, enjoyable and active place to be. Again, he succeeded. I have an abundance of adjectives I could describe Wally’s personality with: loving, thoughtful, kind hearted, a good listener, warm, considerate, tender, et cetera. I have yet more adjectives I could describe his involvement within Arcona’s success: driven, ambitious, integral, vital, dedicated, committed, extremely loyal, hard-working, persistent. The problem is, these don’t even scratch the surface of his kind nature, nor his resolute allegiance to this club. The man is a king. There is no other way to put it. The accolades he has earned along his journey since his last promotion exemplify this dedication:

A Grand Cross of the Dark Side, four Silver Novae, one Bronze Nova, one Anteian Cross, a Scroll of Foundation, two Srals of Return, twenty Seals of Decimation, two Crescents with Emerald Stars, two Crescents with Sapphire Stars, and one Crescent with an Amethyst Star. And he has earned this while all the while learning, developing and, alongside myself, leading the Clan.

Yet this list doesn’t seem to do his activity any justice. Instead, I will exemplify the projects he has worked on, what he did in such projects, and why it is that he genuinely deserves this promotion.

During his tenure as Quaestor of House Qel-Droma, Wally re-established House Qel-Droma’s fictional background. He did this all from scratch and, similarly, created Port Ol’val, Qel-Droma’s new home that has served as a resource for creative writing and character development for the members of the House. Without this preliminary work his then Aedile, Invictus, would not have been nearly as able to step up so readily. Thus, not only did he pave the way for the membership to delve into a much richer, more accessible House, but he also left Invictus in a position of fantastic opportunity to undertake tasks otherwise impossible without Wally’s prior activity.

Similarly, Wally led House Qel-Droma to become the dominant force of Arcona within the Tenth Great Jedi War. He was a veritable bastion of activity, leading from the trenches (which is evident by the sheer number of Seals and Novae he was awarded), and entering into anything he could spare time for. But this was not the defining moment of his activity within the War. Primarily, Wally was one of the few members who really pushed the boat out in terms of inspiring the membership. He would rally Arconans up, help them out, proof-read their fiction, ACC posts, whatever he could to help them to succeed. If there was a way to help Arcona win the Great Jedi War, Wally had found it and put it to use. While I acted as de facto Consul, Wally was right on my heels, acting as assumed Proconsul. He led the membership with such vigour and passion that more often than not, he was still online when most had gone to bed and woken up the next morning.

Following my promotion to Consul, and Wally’s subsequent promotion to Proconsul, this man didn’t see it as time to rest. He jumped straight into more work, and became integral to the authoring and development of the ‘Arcona Family Feud’ event. Not only did he create a large number of the events, but he also came up with and implemented the scoring system that worked by factoring in participation into the scoring system. This was no mean feat, and it took him a long while to compile something that was accurate and fair. A clear demonstration of his dedication yet again, I would suggest. Similarly, he worked on the administrative side as well as the creative side in drawing up the weekly results and putting them into an easily readable spreadsheet that showed each individual and each team’s scores and efforts. He even went as far as to compile a list of the top entries. He then integrated them into the Arcona Forums and the Arcona Post Website, in order to acknowledge entries by the general membership.

Following from this, he was integral within Project [Redacted], an initiative proposed by Invictus. Wally helped oversee a team of Journeymen working on the project in order to to help flush out the fictional background of House Qel-Droma by proof reading and offering creative input without hindering their own developments.

During my month-long Leave of Absence, Wally was left as temporary Consul. He excelled in this position, delegating tasks, helping the Summit, continuing to aid the members and really stepping up to the plate. It took me 14 months to become ready for Consulship; in 6 months of Proconsulship, Wally easily surpassed me in his ability to keep morale high, to motivate the members, and keep Arcona fully engaged. Similarly, he branched out, bridging what were once tense relations with Brotherhood leaders from other clans and houses in hopes for a more open line of communication and better unity between members. He developed better relations with the Consul and Proconsul of Clan Naga Sadow, Quaestor of House Plagueis, Quaestor of House Odan Urr, and Quaestor of House Scholae Palatinae. This is truly inspirational stuff from a member who not a year ago was a BTL.

Wally has also been integral in member training. Trained Socorra Erinos up to Dark Jedi Knight while helping her adjust to the Brotherhood. Furthermore, he introduced her to leadership and continued to help her development on her way to joining the ranks of the Equites. She has also officially listed him as her master, thereby completing one of the requirements necessary for this promotion. He has also been consistently active in proofreading ACC posts for new members and training them in the ways of the ACC: namely Journeyman Anigrel, Snabbie, and Incendus. Similarly, he has been working tirelessly with Celevon in the creation of the Spectre Cell Battleteam by revising the ideas brought up in the proposal, refining them, and helping with the unit-specific weapons and armour. This kind of dedication, along with his work within Clan leadership, is more than deserving of reward.

Wally even went out of his way, using his own imagination and initiative to create the idea of the Cythraul, a token of Arconan appreciation, give to members who show extreme promise. Wally undertook all of the legwork without any want for reward, wrote up the pages and spent many hours refining the concept. To create such a token of gratitude for other members of the Clan is admirable, and it exemplifies his dedication to this great Clan. He is a true leader, a true Arconan.

Let us not forget that Wally was also the mastermind behind the Arcona Contract Bureau. He still maintains service as Commissioner of the Arcona Contract Bureau and its development by creating unique, specialized contracts and grading them while offering insight, tips, and advice for helping develop the writers taking part in the activity. Each contract is tailored to the member’s requested settings, so each contract is created from scratch with no stock templates used.

Wally has managed all of this along with his responsibilities as Proconsul, such as the standard administrative tasks of managing Arcona’s internal affairs, transfers between Houses and Battlteams, solving issues or conflict between members, and maintaining a highly active IRC presence.

If this list does not demonstrate ‘6 or more months of “successful” leadership in Aedile or higher’, I don’t know what does. He has thrice over proven himself deserving of promotion to EQ3, and I feel terrible for waiting this long. This man is a machine. He doesn’t stop loving. He doesn’t stop caring. He doesn’t stop working. He has already trained up a member to Dark Jedi Knight, and he has undoubtedly proven himself worthy of joining the ranks of the upper Equites.

Wally is an amazing leader, an amazing character, and an amazing friend. He deserves this more than anyone I know.

Well done, Wally. You more than deserve it. <3

~Wuntila Zratian Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona.

Wally is a God. That’s the first thing that came to my mind when I sat down to write this rec. The guy has been a consistent feature within the Arconan summit in some form or another for about two years. I remember Wally becoming the BTL of Oblivion Brigade while I was Aedile of Qel-Droma all those months ago. He was young, eager and brimming with potential, something Celahir and I both saw. This has been proven time and time again as he progressed to Quaestor of Qel-Droma. This culminated in Qel-Droma being the powerhouse of Arcona during the 10th GJW, easily outscoring Galeres. Marick once said to me that he looked up to me, all that time ago. Now it’s the other way around, I look up to him. When I came back to full activity after the unfortunate period in RL, Wally took a chance and gave me the position as BTL of Shadow Gate. He didn’t have to; in fact, I wouldn’t have blamed him if he didn’t. But I owe my rank of Equite 2 to him, having had the chance to earn it because of Marick. Not only has he helped me and contributed to making me the member I am today, Wally has had a positive effect on so many people. He hand-picked Invictus as his Aedile in the lead up to GJW X, as well as getting Socorra past that last little step to DJK. He has a massive effect on the Entar family too, despite not being a member: So much so, that we always joke and tease him about when he’s going to put Entar as his surname. Wally stood up to the plate as Proconsul of Arcona after the war, helping Wuntila steer the Shadow Clan to new heights of excellence, introducing a new fictional rewards for up and coming members - The Cythraul. As well as working on the Shadesworn, an elite group of Obelisks within Arcona.

Despite all that, there is so much more to Marick. He’s a friend, a confidante, a respected peer and someone I try to emulate. He is welcoming to everyone and anyone, easy to get hold of and many are the times when one of the Summit has demanded that he go to bed because he’s stayed up late working on projects or helping members. While Wuntila has been on a LoA, working on his dissertation, Wally has stepped up to the plate, leading Arcona in Sam’s absence. I honestly can’t imagine Arcona without Wuntila and Marick at the helm. Marick has more than earned a promotion to the rank of Obelisk Exarch, As such; I recommend that he be promoted post-haste, as my mother is desperate to congratulate him.

Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar

Quaestor of House Galeres

Wally has shown himself to be the most likeable member of the Clan to non-arconans since the likes of Celahir. He is easily approachable for everyone from new members to the DC, and is fast showing his true strengths by having almost singlehandedly managed the Clan during Wuntila's period of RL ass-kickery. He's taken to leadership with a calm levelheadedness that Arcona desperately needed, and his ability to mediate problems should earn him a nobel peace prize with the crap the DB keeps throwing his way. I have absolute faith in his ability both to lead and to follow orders, and I eagerly await him to set the bar even higher for himself as his career in the Brotherhood continues. Also, his arms are bangin'. Congrats, mate. – Dash

I simply cannot imagine this place without Wally. He is such a giving individual; his time, his sweat, his tears, everything about him goes towards Arcona and the DB as a whole. His kindness, politeness, patience, and self-sacrifice practically make him a Saint, something that is so rarely seen in the world these days let alone the Brotherhood.

Wally is an amazing mentor. From the very moment I stepped foot into the DB, he has been there to answer my millions of questions, to guide much of everything that I have and still do, and he has been an amazing sounding board and friend that wouldn't hesitate to shoulder anything for me or any clansman.

He worked incredibly hard to motivate Arcona into participating in the GJWX, started with a video he produced to rally the troops at the beginning, and we can clearly see the fruits of that labor as well as his own astounding activity during the war. Wally went so far as to produce a hilarious and highly embarrassing video of him and other Arconans in order to get the Clan revved up and attempt to secure a placement for multimedia. The amount of work and embarrassment he was willing to go through showed how much his dedication was to helping Arcona win the war. That dedication led to folks like myself pushing day after day into participating and doing it well.

Due to his excellent guidance in the ACC I managed to beat all odds as a PRT and qualify in just a couple days, and then go on to beat out Wally’s own placement in the ACC war event. He made it so much fun and worth doing, that I wanted to do my best. It continues to this very day. We both entered the current 5th Championship Ladder and were pitted against each other in the 2nd round. Wally gave no quarter, and it was the best I have ever seen him, which inspired a passion to not only match him but go beyond, and win. He remains to be an inspiration to me.

Wally’s work for the Arcona Family Feud was no less astonishing. He tirelessly rallied active and retired members to trudge online and support the Clan in this hugely successful multi-week multi-event, which is no easy feat during slow seasons between wars. When he wasn’t running events, he was excelling at his own entries - all the while he was in the process of moving to another state. Nothing stood in his way of supporting the Clan.

Wally is an excellent ambassador between Arcona and the other units. When we say that he is the “friendly face of Arcona,” we really mean it. Incredibly approachable, easy to get along with, social, and very knowledgeable on every subject from DB to manga to politics. He’s like Arcona’s First Lady (or First Husband? This is Arcona we’re talking about), such an amazing Proconsul right out of the gate. His leadership is highly valued, his mentorship is priceless, and his friendship is highly sought after. I am proud to have been his student, and am honored to write this recommendation. Thank you, Wally, for all that you do.

Where to start with Wally, seriously. He's been a leading Arconan, both in activity and position, for as long as I can remember. To me personally he's a great friend, one of the few I've really come to trust albeit never having met in real life. His constant activity, on leadership level alone exemplifies the dedication of a devoted member, both of Arcona and the Dark Brotherhood as a whole.

The sheer amount of contributions he has made to Clan Arcona go above and beyond of what is expected of him. Of course it's a leader's responsibility to keep the clan running and always strive for improvement, but the way Wally has taken it upon himself to make the clan, and through that the entire club a better place for both old and new members, other leaders included, never ceases to amaze me.

Wally, I offered to write a little something for you because like all others I believe you've more than earned this prestigious award, but also because of how in the past you've shown that you seriously care about not just Arcona, but the entire brotherhood, it's an honour to have worked, and hopefully someday work with you again, and the brotherhood is lucky to have a member like you amidst themselves. Congratulations on Equite 3, it's well deserved.

~Celahir Erinos, former Consul of Clan Arcona

Ever since I joined the Dark Brotherhood, Wally has been a constant mentor whenever I was confused or needed help with something... Why am I writing that in the past tense? That still happens to this day. :P Every time I needed something or someone in the Clan needed something, even the simplest of things, he put whatever he was doing aside to turn his full attention back to us. I don't believe I've ever seen a time when he wasn't hard at work on some project or other that benefitted Arcona. It is my firm belief that Wally fully deserves this promotion. Congrats, Wally. :)

-Celevon

Wally is one of the premier members in Arcona. Through his care, Qel-Droma flourished with amazing speed. He follows his tenure as Qel-Droma's Quaestor with a bang up job as Arcona's Proconsul. Under his leadership, both Houses gain a certain amount of respectability just by being associated with him. He gives those leaders who work with him the fervor to do their jobs quickly and with the same tenacity and force he utilizes himself.

In my mind, Wally is one of the unmatched leaders. He shares traits with every last one in the past. He tolerates our bad taste jokes and even finds a few of them funny, but most of all he's willing to share with the class. Whether they are Arconan or not, this does not matter to him in the slightest. He treats all members as if they were his own and this makes his not only a good person to be admired, but it makes him a leader to be followed.

It's been more than an honor to serve with him as one of his Aediles, it has truly been my pleasure to help him with whatever he needs doing and I hope that we both get the chance to work alongside each other for many years.

~Balthier d'Tana Aedile of House Galeres, Clan Arcona

Wally has, right from his first day within Arcona, been a font of excellence in leadership. A veteran from the Bounty Hunter’s Guild, he was already familiar with online Star Wars clubs long before he joined us, and it was an absolute pleasure to see how rapidly he developed into a skilled and experienced leader. I have had the extraordinary privilege of seeing this growth first-hand, first as his assistant when he created Oblivion Brigade more or less out of nothing, then watching him rise steadily through the Arconan ranks, his activity in the ReClanning process, and ultimately his current position as Proconsul. In all these positions, Wally has shown himself to be positively unmatched in the skills he brings to the area. Perhaps rare for an Arconan, he is also tolerant and friendly to more or less everyone, being one of the Brotherhood’s few almost-universally-loved members.

So, having served him in his Battleteam, in his House, and now proudly serving under him as he fulfils his Proconsular duties with enthusiasm, vivacity, humor, verve and grace, I am proud to endorse Wally for promotion.

-Dark Adept Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae

(It’s on the short side, but meh. How many times can a guy say “Wally Rocks” without repeating himself? Because Wally does, indeed, rock. <3)

Ever since he joined the ranks of our Clan's leadership, Wally (or Marick, as no one calls him) has put his heart and soul into making this place better. He was already a great guy when he arrived here, but over the course of the last year he's made himself into a great leader as well. Since his last promotion he has helped lead Arcona to victory in the Great Jedi War, been elevated to the position of Proconsul, and been awarded the Arconae title, all of which was richly deserved. I am absolutely certain that Wally will continue to play a vital part in Arcona for years to come, and I am supremely confident he will continue to be as exemplary as he has been for so long now. Congratulations, my friend.

Primary reason

Socorra is a woman who needs no introduction. She stunned the Dark Jedi Brotherhood on her arrival with her ability, and went as far as to force the Grand Master to take notice. She is a woman with an abundance of skill and the energy to match. Time and time again she has proved that she is entirely devoted to both Arcona and the Dark Jedi Brotherhood at large. It follows that her ability to lead is an extension of this devotion, and it is for this reason that I request she be promoted to the leagues of the Equites.

Since becoming DJK, Socorra has earned 1 Steel Cross, a Scroll of Foundation, A Legion of the Scholar, 199 Clusters of Fire, two Sapphire Crescents, one Quartz Crescent, six Emerald Crescent, two Topaz Crescents and a Seal of Loyalty. This is an astonishing list of accolades for someone who not four months ago was a low-ranking Journeyman. This exemplifies her ability to consistently succeed within Arcona and is a testament to her ability in her capacities as both former BTL of Shadow Gate, and present Aedile of House Qel-Droma. However, there is a much more substantive list of accomplishments that yet follows: her projects and activities.

As BTL of Shadow Gate, Socorra, ran competitions and wrote fictions aimed at giving SG a more stable roleplaying environment, in which members would be contributing to its future, including a fiction to help them get started. Furthermore, these competitions – which were met with relative success – were aimed at giving SG members a forum in which to build their fictional identities. These competitions provided the first tangible engagement with the membership of the BT for some time, and were widely celebrated as a move forward in Shadow Gate’s development. She also developed upon her communication with the membership of the BT with regular emails and contact on IRC, bringing them up to speed with the wider Clan atmosphere and inspiring activity more widely within the Brotherhood and outside of the confines of the BT. She even went as far as to recruit three members into Shadow Gate which have subsequently become extremely active members within the Clan.

As Aedile of House Qel-Droma Socorra has ran numerous competitions in order to inspire activity, all of which have been widely participated within. She has almost completed a Qel-Droma Wiki Update in which she is assisting Invictus in his quest to entirely remake Qel-Droma’s history. In addition to this, she has been working to refine the Wiki pages for Arcona’s Tarentatek, and helping Scelestus with his edits within the Shadow Gate Wiki. Similarly, she has actively involved in Project: Redacted, both participating and helping Invictus with the day-to-day tasks associated with administrating such an extensive project. Moreover, she is currently working on Promotion fictions with our Clan Rollmaster Timeros Arconae, and is currently participating in testing with Jam3z in order to refine Prometheus (Arcona’s automated Journeymen tracking system), as well as working with both Jam3z and Tim to get the Master-Student lists updated. In keeping with this trend, she has also been involved in testing with Jam3z for the Arcona Galaxy Quest DB-wide competition. She worked tirelessly with Invictus to get responses from individuals who failed to reply to the AWOL check, spending days at a time sending out individual emails, responding and offering advice to those individuals who responded. Similarly, she created an Arcona Questionnaire using her own questions as well as those suggested by other members of the summit to see what individuals wanted to see from Arcona. She used her initiative to compile a list of Arconans currently playing TOR who required guidance within the DB, and was the main proofreader and editor of a TOR proposal submitted to the Arconan summit authored by Timeros. She even went as far as to create an Arcona calendar for the summit so we can plot and plan events around others. This has been no end of use and it was done all through Socorra’s ingenuity. She has also been working tirelessly with the BTLS in order to help them progress, and aiding them to inspire their membership into activity. She has assisted Journeymen with their promotion requirements, such as proofreading fictions and wiki pages, and she has also participated in several competitions run by Journeymen for their promotion requirements, placing in many of them. Finally, she has been involved in numerous projects with Invictus, creating a number of databases for summit productivity. Her latest venture, for example, was to set up a Project timetable on the website do.com, in order to orchestrate a large amount of projects around each other. And this extensive list is only her attributes as a leader. As a member, she has been just as active.

In her capacity as a member, she has been extremely active. She is on IRC from morning to night, chatting with members regularly in both #arcona and other unit channels. Similarly, she is active on the Brotherhood Ventrilo server several days a week for several hours. She uses it not just to run Flashpoints and group activities but to socialize with other Brotherhood members regardless of what Clan or House they belong to. She has a couple-hour turnaround time for email. She plays TOR daily and has been with or helped many DB members run through Flashpoints and Heroics and she has participated in several Warzones and World Bosses and World PVP with ARC and non-ARC members. She kicked ass within the feud, placing second within all of Arcona. Even during this, she was speaking to many individuals who had either rescinded from activity in Arcona or had moved to TOR and persuaded them to participate in the event. Similarly, she recruited and mentored Scelests from APP to DJK in just three months. Scelestus is now a master himself and is General Studies Professor in the SA. She is also extremely active fictionally. She is presently in the 3rd round of the ACC championship ladder, she beat Locke (Now CNS Consul) in a fictional competition to participate within the DC team within the present Ambitions Run-On, she has completed an ACB contract with Wally, a Run-on with Teroch, a Run-on with Talos, she was active within the Communications Breakdown Run-on, and she has been involved in co-operative fictions with a number of members.

This extensive list of accolades more than proves her worth as both a member of Arcona and as a member of the Brotherhood. I am absolutely delighted with her development as a member and a leader. Both her and Invictus go together like genitals and warts. They’re made for each other. I can’t stress how much this woman has done in Arcona, and she is still going. She’s relentless. I am proud to call her an Arconan, and I believe she deserves more than a simple pat on the back.

Keep it up Socks. Great things lay ahead for you.

~Wuntila Zratian Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona.

I'm going to be brief for a change. Anyone who has been in or around the DB in any capacity over the past 6 months has either heard about or witnessed Socorra's prowess and accomplishments. She is a beacon of activity that not only strives for the best, but encourages everyone around her to do the same. She is friendly, approachable, and I think I'd have to bring in Jerry Springer in order to provoke a conflict with her and another member. She's just that likable. Her smile is infectious, and her positive attitude makes my job as her Proconsul much easier. She communicates effortlessly with the other houses and clans, helping push the new image for Arcona. All of these traits make her not just a stellar Aedile, but a valued and loyal friend. We often forget how tough it can be to be the only female member of the summit. Socorra never let's that get in her way, and has done nothing but tackle and/or trample over any challenge thrown her way. I'm convinced that nothing will stand in her way, and only the sky is the limit for her. She will be a leader in the DB for years to come, and will continue to leave her mark on the Brotherhood.

I've had the pleasure of watching her grow up and develop from a little Journeyman to a Knight, and now am privileged to recommend her for entrance into the rank of Equites. Congrats, Socs, and welcome to the big leagues ;).

-Marick Arconae

The first time I heard of Socorra, it was at the conclusion of a Leave of Absence on my part, where I had not kept much touch. The first thing I ever heard about her was “Man, that girl’s nuts”. In a way, they were proven right. Socorra distinguished herself from the start, immediately taking to the ACC like a fish to water. She wanted to qualify immediately. Having seen enthusiasm like that before and knowing it rarely works out, I spoke with Xathia to give her a crash course. Amazingly, and nearly without precedent, she graduated immediately and went on to win a fourth place in the Great Jedi War.

However, it is not just Socorra’s brilliant activity at the ACC that makes her deserving of promotion. It is also her leadership within Arcona. Having returned to active service as Arcona’s Rollmaster, I she contacted me immediately. As a leader, Socks is affable, friendly, helpful, cheerful, insightful and kind in addition to being sharp, highly intelligent, creative and capable of bringing a House to greatness. Additionally, she’s a happily seen figure throughout the Brotherhood, who treats other members with kindness and respect. Even though I’m over a decade her senior in the Brotherhood, she has managed to help me out considerably in many avenues, giving me perspectives on situations that I had not thought of myself.

Socorra, all in all, should be promoted to Krath Priestess with all due haste. I know of no one who deserves it more.

-Dark Adept Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae, Rollmaster Arcona.

Writing a promotion recommendation for Socorra seems a bit like extolling the virtues of having air conditioning in a vehicle. All of the salient points are obvious - and if you’ve spent any significant amount of time in a car, you already know first-hand. I’ll get into some of her more notable accomplishments shortly, but I’m leaving the exhaustive list (just reading it exhausted me!) to others. The fact is, her contributions can’t be summed up by a simple list. Yes, she’s run a variety of competitions during her tenure. Sure, between competition submissions and her work on all the various projects, she is probably the single most active member of Arcona. Her IRC presence and availability are unparalleled. She’s always around to answer questions, or proofread, or test out the latest mad experiment on which Jam3z or Timeros fasten their sights. She’s timely in her reports, both public and internal.

Looking at her accomplishments, I find myself envious of her activity - and I’m her Quaestor!

Still, the Equite ranks are not about individual activity. If they were, anyone with a Steel Cross would be EQ1. Regardless of the minimum requirements in the Master At Arm’s guidelines, the Equite ranks are about leadership. They are about serving those around you, working for the betterment of your members, your House, your Clan, and the Brotherhood. Socorra is the epitome of this ideal.

Some leaders think in terms of logistics, others in terms of people. She is most certainly one of the latter. She works extensively with our newer members, helping acclimate them to the Brotherhood’s culture and accelerate their progression through the ranks. She’s already trained one student up to Dark Jedi Knight (Scelestus), and only the abundance of eligible Masters in Arcona has kept her from working on a second. I’ve thought, on occasion, that she would be the perfect Rollmaster - if she weren’t such a damned good Aedile. Alas for Timeros, she is - so he’s stuck with his job.

I’ve been Quaestor of House Qel-Droma for roughly half a year now, and the fact is that I can’t imagine doing this job successfully without her assistance. She is instrumental, in a dozen different ways, to the success of this House and Clan. Her perseverance, her drive to succeed, her determination at following through on everything she starts - I would call them extraordinary, except that they are par for the course with her. She is, more than anyone else, the face of House Qel-Droma. Arconans have a reputation for being insular - one I’d like to think is slowly changing. If so, she’s one of the primary reasons. When the occasional member has problems - internally, or with other Houses - or is upset over a decision or competition that didn’t go their way, she is often the first person approached. And she’s excellent at it to the point that whatever the problem is has almost always been resolved by the time it is brought to my attention.

Socks is, in many ways, the heart of Qel-Droma. And, if we’re lucky, it’s future.

So, it is with great pride that I formally recommend her for promotion to the rank of Krath Priestess.

Congratulations, Socks! No one deserves it more.

-- SBM Invictus, #91 Quaestor of House Qel-Droma

Ever since Socks first came to Arcona, she's been nothing but a boon to the Shadow Clan. It took the 10th GJW for us to realise the potential that Socorra had, as she charged through the Journeymen ranks to become one of the fastest Knighted members in the DB. She kicked booty in the ACC and cemented her place within Soulfire. Giving her the chance of leading Shadow Gate, one of the veteran Battleteams within Arcona, Socks took over from me, learning the tricks of the trade from Ronovi and Invictus and she became a budding summit member who I can be proud to say is a friend, a colleague and a respected peer.

Socorra then took on the challenge of Aedile of Qel-Droma, the logical candidate for the position after Invictus became Quaestor of HQD. She has excelled, always volunteering for projects, working well with the members and genuinely caring for their well being. I know that if Invictus ever needs something doing, Socks is the first person he goes to. Though he often finds that she has already pre empted his request and has already done the required work. Socorra has not only been an exemplary leader, she's also been a fantastic master. Getting her student, Scelestus, to Dark Jedi Knight, while she was a DJK herself. I think it's only fair that for all of her hard work and dedication to the Brotherhood that Socorra be raised to the ranks of the Equites. It is a proud day for all of us Arconans to welcome one of our sisters to Equitehood. Well done Socks, you've earned this with your actions, keep it up!

Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar - QUA of House Galeres

Socorra is kicking ass and taking names in a way I've not seen since Wuntila first came to Arcona. The fact that she earned a double-promotion during the tenth war is testament to her abilities. She's grasped the subtleties of the DB in days rather than the months it usually takes Journeymen, and she's fitted into the summit as Aedile like a glove. I'm proud to call her a sister in the Erinos, a fellow member of the summit, a comrade in our magnificent clan, and most importantly of all, a friend. Well earned, Socks, and thanks for all you've done to make Arcona great. I see big things for you in the future.

-Dash

Socorra is a true example to the testimony of an Arconan. Rising through the ranks quicker than most, getting to Dark Jedi Knight and becoming Aedile in a matter of months. She has done what is expected of every Arconan and much, much more. Behind the mountain of achievements is a very bright, dedicated and humorous individual who is truly a pleasure to know and work with. Socorra is easily approachable and is happy to help with almost any issue, whether it be related to the Brotherhood or the outside world, she without question has the true qualities of a Aedile of Arcona and I could think of no one who deserves a promotion to EQ1 more than she does. Congratulations Socks, continue to make us proud!

There are few people in Arcona I would call ‘devoted’. There are even fewer people in Arcona I would call ‘passionate’. There are yet fewer members that I would deem ‘vital’. And there is one man I would call ‘inspirational’. That man is Invictus. He embodies all of the aforementioned and so, so much more. Invictus joined our summit in July of 2011. He was a new face in Arcona, and we were all weary. We didn’t know what to expect. And we were consequently astonished. In the past 9 months he hasn’t stopped. He just keeps going, and going, and going. Any time anyone needs help inside or outside of Arcona, Invictus is there. Any time someone needs something proofread, needs a hand with writing a report, needs someone to bounce off, anything you can think of, Invictus is the man to which people turn.

I will, however, let his list of accolades speak for itself, before I continue with a more in-depth discussions of his abilities:

14 Clusters of Ice; 2 Legions of the scholar; 3 Crescents with Quartz Star; 7 Crescents with Topaz Star; 7 Crescents with Emerald Star; 7 Crescents with Sapphire Star; 3 Crescents with Amethyst Star; 3 Crescents with Ruby Star; 3 Bronze Novae; 4 Silver Novae; 4 Gold Novae; 9 Dark Crosses; 4; Anteian Crosses; 2 Steel Crosses; 3 Seals of Memory; 2 Seals of Retribution; 5 Seals of Return; 23 Seals of Decimation; 2 Seals of Loyalty; and a Grand Cross of the Dark Side.

This would be a truly remarkable list for any individual, but one who has taken a 2 year hiatus and returned to lead a House and helped lead a Clan to victory in the previous GJW? It exemplifies an amazing level of dedication and activity. But this is only the icing. The cake is yet to follow.

Let us begin with his tenure as Combat Master, something for which he has yet to be awarded. As Combat Master he hosted multiple successful DB-wide competitions, including one of the first successful team-based ACC competitions, Dark Betrayal. He also revised the rules of the Combat Center, most of which survive to this day. In addition, he redid the fighting styles, not just rewriting the styles and creating a half dozen new ones, but changing the format of them and how they are treated (which are still used). He spearheaded a project that weeded out character sheets which had been approved previously that violated a variety of ACC rules (non-SW races, use of armour, use of fighting styles and lightsaber styles for which they failed to meet the requirements). Finally, he also oversaw the ACC during the sixth GJW. With over 300 matches, it is the second largest ACC event in the Combat Centres history. It follows, therefore, that an individual willing to put this much time an effort into the DB in its entirety deserves recognition.

Similarly, Invictus served as Aedile of Marka Ragnos of Clan Naga Sadow, as a Magistrate to the Oracle, and as a staff member of the Dark Voice. As Magistrate to the Oracle and a staff member of the Dark Voice, he worked extensively on both writing articles for the Dark Voice and editing those of others to ensure high quality and timely publication, something for which it was known at the time. As Aedile of Marka Ragnos, he helped completely revise and reorganize the Disciples of Ragnos into a fully-functioning fictional framework in which the members at the time took a great deal of pride. He also helped oversee the Battle for Inos, an intra-Clan Feud between HMR and HLK, and lead HMR to victory. Moreover, he also ran the Naga Sadow Times during my tenure in CNS (http://nagasadow.org/times/issue5/issue5.html). This was all within the standard tasks of promoting activity, awarding members for their dedication and general House administration tasks associated with the running of a House.

Invictus is also currently serving as a Magistrate to the Seneschal. He has been fixing various bugs, and completely a large list of tasks set by Orv to restructure the code-layout of the entire DJB website. It’s a huge task, and I feel it deserves recognition in such a recommendation. Especially considering Invictus is able to juggle his responsibilities as a Magistrate to the Seneschal as well as his extensive list of tasks as a Quaestor. It truly is a testament to his capabilities.

However, his most prestigious list of achievements thus follows. That is, his tenure within Arcona and House Qel-Droma.

Invictus hit the floor running in the position of Aedile under Marick. He quickly undertook a vast amount of work. Namely, the reformatting of the Qel-Droman base – Port Ol’Val – left unfinished by the previous Aedile, Dralin. He set to work on rectifying the issue unfinished by the previous Aedile, such as awarding the membership, addressing the membership with what they wished to see from the House and providing a significant amount of activities for the House membership to participate in. He was everything and more we could’ve hoped for from an Aedile who was working under a Quaestor with a temperamental and often unstable work structure.

During the war, Invictus was a veritable bastion of activity. He showed his true colours in his true dedication to the Arconan cause and his sheer volume of activity. He participated in a total of 23 events, earning 3 Bronze, 4 Silver and 4 Gold Novae. This is a true feat in itself. But he still went further. He was a key proofreader for the Clan; he was the go-to guy for everything fiction and/or ACC; and he was relentless in trying to help Arcona not only continue to function well, but to exceed in its war effort. He was on every day helping members develop their abilities and be the best they could possibly be, without want for reward or recognition. All he wanted was for Arcona and House Qel-Droma to do well. He was a true inspiration in the war effort, and I fear, should Invictus not have been around, Arcona would not have fared nearly as well.

Since the war, Invictus has been intrinsic in a number of House and Clan wide projects. Namely, the Arcona Family Feud and Project [Redacted]. Within the family feud, Invictus was instrumental in the coding of the scores sheet, whilst also participating in a number of the competitions. Without him the results would not have come out as quickly, if at all. He was a saviour for both myself and Wally. Similarly, without his proof-reading and input, the fiction releases for the Family feud would not have been nearly as polished and/or interesting. With the help of Socks, He’s running a project to rewrite all of the Qel-Droma wiki articles, fleshing them out significantly. Then, there is Operation: [Redacted]. The Qel-Droman Summit and selected membership are completely reinvisioning the history and nature of House Qel-Droma, to give it a consistent fictional framework that will go a long way towards buy-in from the membership. Currently, most of Qel-Droma has a strong sense of being Arconan. But it does mean that they compete little in House Competitions in comparison to Clan ones. Invictus is determined to get the members to show pride in their House in order to rectify this. The project itself is staged as a series of team competitions (also forcing members to get to know their fellow Qel-Dromans), which winning entries in each competition being used as that basis for that particular area. The current one, for instance, is to explain why Qel-Droma is named after a fallen Jedi who turned back to the light. While there is, historically, a reason for this, it isn't one towards which the current membership feel any passion or dedication. So, Invictus giving them the opportunity to make it their own. He is also currently utilizing the same format, as part of [Redacted], to revise the politics, economy, and overall culture of House Qel-Droma. So far, it has been highly successful.

He has also been intrinsic in helping members in their transition from TOR to the DB proper. A huge amount of these individuals were primarily interested in TOR, and understood very little of what the DB was all about. Invictus eased them through that transition, giving them help when and where he could. The result is that members such as Scelestus, for example, have begun participating in much more than just TOR. Indeed, they are beginning to form the core of the house. Invictus’ ability to engage these members is a testament in itself, but he has also been significant in bringing back a number of members. Chief among these is Zakath, who participated heavily in the Arcona Family Feud and moved to take the head of Shadow Gate Battleteam.

Similarly, Invictus has been key in training up our budding new DJK Socorra. As Aedile of Qel-Droma, Socorra has flourished. And Invictus has been a large part of that process. He has guided her, helped her and pushed her in her success. I attribute at least a modicum of her success to his fantastic ability to lead.

Fundamentally, Invictus has changed the nature of House Qel-Droma. It was once the underdog house. It was once the laughing stock of Arcona. It was p***ed on by Galeres on a regular basis. Then Invictus came along and reinvigorated it. He injected passion, dedication and true inspiration into the house. Now, Qel-Droma is the model House. Galeres is struggling to keep up with it. And I attribute that for the most part to Invictus’ leadership ability.

Invictus has not only served successfully as Aedile or above for over sixth months, as denotes the promotion requirement, but he has set the bar much higher than many would conceivably be able to attain. He has been one of the best members of the Summit I have ever seen and I am so glad that he gave us the opportunity to hire him. He is more than deserving of a promotion.

Congratulations and well done, Vic. We love you and you more than deserve this promotion. Keep it up.

~Wuntila Zratian Entar Arconae, Consul of Clan Arcona.

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Invictus over the course of the last half-year after hand-selecting him to be my Aedile as I prepared House Qel-Droma for the approaching war. Invictus wasted no time in getting right to work, even before his transfer had been fully processed. He integrated into the ranks of Arcona seamlessly, and if I hadn't known otherwise I'd have thought he'd been here his entire career. I think that's something that should not be overlooked considering his long history in the DB. He has bounced around from different Clans and Houses, has served as every summit roll at one point in his career, and even had a stint as combat master. He shares his experience with his members in a non-egotistic way, always putting others before himself. He is not only a talented writer, but helps with graphics and even serves on the SCL's staff and assists with coding. Since arriving in Clan Arcona as Aedile, he has accumulated 31 Clusters of Fire, 23 Seals of Decimation, 6 Clusters of Ice, a Seal of Loyalty, Grand Cross of the Dark Side, 9 novae, and 3 Dark Crosses- two of which where results of heroically fixing glitching in the DB site's code. Were Vic truly shines, though is his ability to get things done. I've never worked with anyone else that has the ability to line up a set of tasks and make sure they get done in not just a timely manner, but at a high quality as well. Every night before signing off to go to bed, he would ask me, without fail, "Is there anything you need me to do? Anything I should add to my check list?" His drive and work ethic are unlike anything I've ever seen from a DB member, leader or otherwise. He has also been a loyal friend and brother, helping out in any way he can. During the War, he really showed his true colors when despite working a tiring 9-7 job everyday, he would stay up until 4 in the morning, diligently checking and proofreading his brother and sister's writings while turning out his own mountain of work. This is clearly evident in his top 3 placing in the ACC, and his net collection of 9 novae and 23 seals. There were honestly times where I had to order him to go to bed. That's dedication...

...I wrote that 2 months ago. In the time since all of that, Vic has been a bastion of activity and a positive role model to all our new members and leaders. He is on IRC almost daily, and has maintained flawless e-mail turn around. He has taken on his shoulders the burden of continuing on the work I had started in redefining House Qel-Droma as a unit, in terms of it's history and other fictional facets. He is heading up Operation [Redacted] which has gotten nearly all of the active Arconan's involved and participating in working towards improving the House Qel-Droma Wikipedia pages, giving them re-writes, additions, and even more depth. He's turned it into a fun way of assigning the members "missions" and giving deadlines to help promote progress, but not in way that cracks a proverbial whip and forces people to write against their will. He is also very active in the TOR community, and has been a strong represenative of the clan in the game, working with helping to integrate new members who joined just for TOR and trying to get them involved with the rest of the DB. As mentioned previously, he has never once stopped being an amazing asset to his clan mates and myself. He's accumulated over 200 CF's, while also still maintaining a constant IRC presence, and active level of leadership.

He has earned a place in my heart as one of my closest friends, and there is no one else I think deserves this more than him. His hard work and dedication to the club should be something that every member in the DB uses as a measuring stick. I believe that Invictus has more than earned the rank of Equite 3. His service to Arcona erases any doubts of the old "what have you done for me lately" question, and his track record of work and accomplishments since his last promotion more than bolsters my belief in his escalation. Congratulations Invictus, no one deserves this more than you. It's been a long time coming.

-Marick Arconae, Proconsul of Clan Arcona.

Going back a little bit, like Tim and Wally, I worked with Vic nearly every day of the GJWX, where he taught me much of what I know of the ACC. He took time out of writing his own posts to mentor me and give me the confidence I needed to continue in it even though all of the odds were against me as a PRT. In the end I took 4th place, right behind Vic's 3rd. I never would have thought it possible, but with his guidance it became a reality. It didn't stop there though. Vic continues to be a good friend and great counsel for all things Brotherhood even now. I know that if I ever need anything, he is always there, no hesitation.

One of the top reasons why I applied for his Aedile position is that Vic demands excellence but gives excellence in return. That is a work ethic that I admire in him. Whether it's for HQD, Arcona, or the Brotherhood as a whole, Vic works incredibly hard and the fruits of his labor are always top-notch. Vic is a constant presence in Arcona and in the Summit. His email turnaround is remarkable and his IRC habits even while at work are commendable. I became a leader under his House three months ago, and it has been everything that I expected it to be. Vic doesn't mess around. He gets work done and done well, and tells you exactly what he expects from you and when, and normally it is something that he wanted to do himself but simply had to delegate. That alone makes it worth doing, because his own heart was in it. But that is like everything he does. Whether it is wiki articles, coding, or competition entries, his full effort will shine in it, and inspire the same in others. The great mark of a leader is one that leads by example, and Invictus owns the copyright on this. It is my pleasure to recommend him for this promotion to show appreciation for them.

-Socorra Erinos, Aedile of House Qel-Droma

Invictus has been with us only a short time, but it stands to his ability that he's already a QUA and one of our integral summiters. His abilities are myriad, and he's always willing to dip his toe in any avenue of DB activity, and always with the aim of helping Arcona grow even greater. He's approachable, funny, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and looks a tiny bit like gollum. All of these facets lend themselves well to leadership in the Brotherhood. He's spearheading our everpresent Wiki audit, he's participating in the CHL (and excelling); he's a name on TOR, and finds time to lead his house excellently. There is little more one could ask for in a Quaestor. Well, there is, and he provides it: he's able to take being part of the Arconan Summit (no mean feat, considering the number of diverse personalities encompassed within) without batting an eyelid, and keeps up with the banter as if he's been part of it all his life. I've yet to see a member of Arcona slide more seamlessly into the group than Invictis, and I'm immensely glad he's part of our prestigious unit. Thanks for joining the good fight, Vic, and I hope to see many more years of your activity, companionship, and leadership.

Dash

What can be said about Vic. I've known the poor sap for years, you should pity him for that. In all that time, however, I have noticed several things about his character as a person. I've been asked to do something I rarely ever do. I have never felt my words held much merit, but Vic changes that. Vic treats most people as an equal and is more than willing to help others understand. Can I say he's driven? Definitely. Passionate? Absolutely. Ill-tempered? Rarely.

When I think of ideal members of the Brotherhood, Vic has always stood apart. He is more than willing to share his passion with others. More than willing to share his boundless knowledge with those who ask for it. These are things that make someone great in my mind. These few aspects of true character carry a lot of weight with them. Those who know me, will freely admit that I'm not the easiest person to impress. But, Vic is one of the few for whom I will give voice to these thoughts.

If people were to ask me who I felt were the true leaders that I've come across, Vic would be one of them. He's a hard-ass, no doubt. But, he is compassionate and will find the heart of the issue and work with those involved to resolve it. Is he a pain? Some days, but that is the mark of a leader. One cannot lead without being a servant as well. I've always seen that Vic had the ability to lead, but he had the heart to know when he needed to help. The mark of a true leader is not how they lead, but how they serve.

Without members, a leader is nothing. Qel-Droma is stronger for Vic ability to lead, but the members themselves are stronger for having him to serve. Everyone always say the whole "I can thing of no one more deserving." I'm not going to feed anyone that line, but I can tell you that Vic has earned his stripes and proven his mettle time and time again.

He goes out of his way to make sure everything is running smoothly, he is online near constantly to assist anyone who needs it. People like Vic are hard to come by in this organization. People like him are the reason I'm still around. Without members like Vic, not only would Arcona suffer from the loss of heart, but the Brotherhood would as well. Someone like Vic is not the most deserving. Not one deserves ANYTHING given out by their superiors. However, Vic has earned it. He works in a position that he expects no thanks for his work. He expects nothing in return because he knows that the purest form of accomplishment isn't within the promotion or within the number of medals one attains.

The purest form of a job well done is seeing that things will continue. That things will flourish and become something more even after one is gone. Has Vic earned this? I say yes. He truly has. I have not personally seen anyone work nearly as hard to maintain the standards he has set for himself and his House. He has raised the bar and Qel-Droma has risen to meet it.

This behavior is contagious and I continually find myself in awe of the man's sheer tenacity when it comes to seeing things to completion. I find myself wanting to strive to match him. That is the mark of someone who was born to lead in any capacity they choose. Vic inspires those around him to be better than they are, to be everything they can be. Even if they only have a few hours to participate, so much can be done in only a few hours.

Vic is a model. Someone to shape yourself after. I firmly believe that he's earned this and that he will continue to earn his keep no matter what he does after his time is over. In life and in our organization, few people are suited to the task of leadership. Fewer still embrace it with the gusto that Vic has grappled with his position.

With that said, I join my words with those in the request that Vic be elevated in rank. It is the least we can do to pay him back for the tireless, thankless service he renders for Arcona and for the rest of the Brotherhood. Our lives are truly enriched by knowing Invictus. He is a true friend and a loyal comrade.

~Balthier d'Tana -Aedile of House Galeres, Clan Arcona

I’ve known Invictus for coming on seven months now and boy, has it been an interesting time. Vic joined us just before the 10th GJW, proving to be a fantastic asset to Qel-Droma and Arcona. Contributing to Arcona’s dominance in the ACC during the war, not to mention helping to push the RO to 2nd place, Vic proved that he was the right choice as Aedile, silencing all of his critics in one fell swoop.

Since then, he moved into the Quaestor spot, and began to systematically strengthen Qel-Droma, making it a bastion of activity and talent. Developing Project Redacted to redesign HQD’s origins, he has galvanised the members into contributing to their fictional lore. Add to that, training Socorra up as Aedile to be one of the future leaders of the Shadow Clan. As well as that, he and I are working together, strengthening the ties between the two Houses.

Vic may be abrasive at times with the constant Sang’s mom jokes, but to be honest, I would miss the bugger if he wasn’t around. Invictus came to us from Naga Sadow; a stranger, but now he is one of us. He’s an Arconan through and through and I’m proud to call him a friend. We all know Vic deserves recognition for his dedication to Arcona and the Dark Brotherhood., so well done Vic, you’ve earned it mate.

-Sanguinius Entar, Quaestor of House Galeres.

It’s impossible. It’s absurd. It’s absolutely outrageous that a member like Invictus, with his state of service to Arcona, has yet to make it to the third grade of the Equites. Starting with his arrival in Arcona just prior to the Great Jedi War, he made himself useful to us in numerous ways right from the instant his transfer was approved. Not only did he submit regular reports and does he have a steady online presence, but Invictus has also been the driving force behind many of our leadership programs. Additionally, he has spent some time mentoring students.

Within the Great Jedi War, Invictus was once again an absolute godsend. Not only did he break the ACC in half, fighting nearly two dozen matches and getting second place for his efforts, but he has also participated in Battle plans, Wiki teams, his own fiction and a host of other activities, all in addition to helping out with the general war planning for Arcona. Hell, his planning in the tenth Great Jedi War was compared to my own in the Ninth – except that cannot possibly be true, because Vic has repeatedly proven that as a leader, he is my superior in every imaginable way. As a Quaestor, he has had ample time to prove himself in that respect. He’s quick to understand, he’s innovative, and he’s capable of compromise while still pursuing a driving vision. With coding skills in addition to writing, leadership, and the ACC, he has also shown himself to be a remarkably flexible man, capable of quickly adapting himself to any leadership situation.

If I said I expected great things from Invictus, that would be too little and too late. He’s already exceeded all of that, and as such has, in my opinion, earned the rank of Sith Battlelord several times over.
