Master DarkHawk Sadow
Old Rank
Elder 1
New Rank
Elder 2
Requested by
Lord Idris Adenn
Primary reason

It is both a privilege and an honor to stand before the Brotherhood and recommend DarkHawk for promotion to Elder 2. This is not a promotion bestowed lightly. Elder promotions represent some of the highest recognitions our club can offer, reserved for members whose dedication, leadership, and impact have shaped the Brotherhood over many years. They are milestones that reflect not only extraordinary accomplishments, but the respect and admiration earned from an entire community. I can think of no one more deserving of joining those ranks than DarkHawk.

There is perhaps no member more synonymous with celebrating the achievements of others than DarkHawk. Whether it is a promotion, an award, or another milestone, his enthusiasm is infectious, his encouragement genuine, and his support unwavering. It is only fitting that today we turn the spotlight back onto him and celebrate one of the greatest milestones of his own career. This promotion is a recognition of years of service, countless hours invested in our members, and a legacy that has strengthened both Clan Naga Sadow and the Brotherhood as a whole.

When we speak about what it means to be an Elder, we expect someone who serves as a pillar of the community. Someone who leads by example, who consistently contributes regardless of title or recognition, and whose presence makes those around them better. DarkHawk embodies those qualities in every sense of the word.

Whether serving as Consul over the past three years or simply contributing as one of our most active members, DarkHawk has always been someone the club could rely upon. Leadership has never been something he turns on or off depending on the position he holds. It is reflected in the example he sets, the encouragement he offers, and the consistency with which he gives back to the Brotherhood.

His record speaks volumes. Since attaining Elder 1, DarkHawk has organized an astounding 164 competitions, helping create opportunities for hundreds of members to participate, improve, and enjoy our community. Many of these competitions have supported our largest events, including multiple Pro Bowls, where reliable organizers are essential to the success of the club. Behind every competition lies planning, judging, feedback, and administration, work that often goes unseen but is critical to keeping the Brotherhood thriving.

Just as impressive is his own participation. DarkHawk has entered 547 competitions, earning 253 Crescents through consistently excellent performances across a remarkable variety of events. His creativity is perhaps best demonstrated through nearly 100,000 words of fiction, an incredible body of work that reflects years of dedication. Along the way, he has also earned nearly 5,000 Clusters, demonstrating that his commitment extends across every corner of club activity. Yet impressive statistics alone do not make an Elder.

What truly distinguishes DarkHawk is the attitude behind those accomplishments. He approaches the Brotherhood with positivity, enthusiasm, and an unmistakable passion for seeing others succeed. He has been a steady leader through busy seasons, a dependable teammate during our largest events, and a constant source of encouragement to members both new and old. He has invested not only in competitions and projects, but in the people who make this club what it is.

Over the years, DarkHawk has earned the respect of his peers not simply because of what he has accomplished, but because of how he has accomplished it. With humility, consistency, and genuine excitement for the success of those around him, he exemplifies the qualities we hope every member will strive to emulate.

Congratulations, DarkHawk. This promotion is richly deserved, and I cannot think of a more fitting recognition for everything you have given to this community over the years.

There really is only one word worthy of celebrating this moment.

BOOYA!

Additional reasons

BOOYA!!!!

DarkHawk has served Clan Naga Sadow as Consul for 3 years now. Before that, he was Proconsul, Quaestor and Aedile.

The man lives and breathes the Clan and the Club as a whole.

He is the biggest hype man I've met, always messaging members, celebrating their work and achievements.

DarkHawk has always maintained that he is a terrible leader and was simply not the right man for the job. Clearly, that is completely wrong.

I am proud of him. Proud of the work he's done. His indefatigable nature in the face of adversity. He is a boon to Clan Naga Sadow and to the Club as a whole. I'm lucky that he chose me to be his Master and mentor in the club.

He respects all, he appreciates all, he gives his all.

Just as Idris said at the end of his recommendation, I must do the same. There can be only one word to describe DarkHawk.

BOOYA!

Professor Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar, 2026-07-23 18:28:55 UTC

Darkhawk is a beast. He jumps up and down, cheerleading and drawing attention to everyone else's actions, their accolades, their successes, all while minimizing his own significant efforts. That humility, that desire to serve, to put his members first is not just admirable, it's aspirational.

I've long held the perhaps antiquated view of elders that they must be a force that their absence would leave a void in the Brotherhood. That their efforts have had a long-lasting effect on this club's survival, well above and beyond what any hard data like participation metrics and reports delivered could possibly measure. That our Brotherhood would be in a worse place if not for them.

So what then, for Masters?

Darkhawk is all that I just laid out and more. He is a fervent promoter of his members' efforts. He is one of the very reasons that people get out and do things, drag themselves out of funks and come back and remember what friends that they have here. He steadies almost every conversation he is in with his patience and contemplation. His fanatic enthusiasm and unabashed enjoyment of this nerdy hobby we all share gives us all room to indulge a little bit more deeply. To try and grab hold of that childlike glee we all felt watching saturday morning cartoons. To share in our imaginations and abandon the daily drudgery, even just for a few moments.

It's not that Naga Sadow would be diminished without Darkhawk.

It's that the Brotherhood would.

It's that I would too. I and all too many others who you have touched in your time here.

Thank you, Darkhawk. It means a lot, and I want to make damned sure that you know it. Congratulations on reaching the rank of Master. It was well earned.

Oh, and I almost forgot. BOOYA!

Lord Muz Ashen Keibatsu, 2026-07-23 23:00:32 UTC

DarkHawk easily makes the shortlist for the nicest person in the club. He's the first to say thank you and the first to say congratulations. I struggle to remember any staffer as consistent about proactively checking in, not just to ask if he can help, but also to ask how people are doing and what they need. The only member he won't build up is himself; the man is humble and selfless, always quick to shift the spotlight back onto his Sadowans or his teammates.

The luxury of a supporting recommendation is that I don't have to lay out numbers or justify anything, I can just say what I appreciate about the member. And the longer I'm here, the more I appreciate DarkHawk's single-minded focus on just making the community a nice place for people to be, the way you can take it for granted that he's going to assume good faith and try his best. There are weeks in leadership where his gentleness and even keel seem borderline miraculous, speaking as an occasional prima donna myself. He's the Brotherhood's chill uncle, and we're a better community for his presence.

Primary reason

Wolfe has served within my hierarchy as both Consul and now Voice. In this time, he has demonstrated himself to be intensely passionate when it comes to the story of the experience within the club. Whether it be individual characters, clan fiction, or club-wide, he takes to it all as something important to both tell and consume. This is an excellent passion to have, especially now that he is responsible for crafting and understanding the club-wide narrative and how clans impact it. Thankfully, this is also tempered in two ways: he indulges in jokes and knows when to be serious. This is so important to make it so the fictional experience is not draining and levity is still available. A trait we’ve all seen in Star Wars.

Since his last recognition, Wolfe has served 10 months as Consul for Odan-Urr and 6 months now as Voice of the Brotherhood. While he is awarded CIs for the various chapters (during and prior to the Wars and other Vendettas and events) released as Voice, this doesn’t truly encompass the sheer work effort that goes into it. There’s a reason the “Story Group” exists. So much planning and coordination goes into those fictions. At the same time, he has demonstrated his desire for streamlining our systems. This is best shown in the push and eventual release of the Character Sheet Reference interface that replaces both C-D4WG and our Wiki to create a single source of truth when it comes to the Voice systems. No more making the same update in multiple places! This is a huge win. Beyond that, his tenure has seen a variety of Feat rework passes, Species reviews and approvals, as well as an ever growing list of office changes and system reworks.

I look forward to the work to come, but can only speak to what has been completed. With the above, I am happy to recommend Wolfe for a Ruby Scepter in recognition. Thank you, Wolfe. Being the Voice puts a lot of visibility on not only your work within the office, but your narrative voice itself. And everyone has an opinion there. My opinion is that you should be rewarded and I’m glad to do it.

Morgan, or Vyr as I know them, has been a staple of the Heraldry before and has become so again. They bring a steadfast reliability to the role that is hard to quantify. It's confidence, earned and proven, that results will appear. Quality results. They are engaged and will always produce. It makes my job easy, because I know that Vyr will make whatever we're doing look good. At the same time, they champion the production of our members and engage fully in our Art Chat, both as a contributor and in helping others learn or just simply be acknowledged for what they're doing.

During the past 14 months of their service as Herald, Vyr leads from the front taking on just as much if not more work than the staff. As a generator of graphics, we can put exact numbers to the outcomes. Vyr has created 2 solo effort Robes, 72 Selector robes, 10 solo effort Weapons, 12 basic Warbanners, 101 basic Possessions assets, 7 Header Graphics, and 3 Item Store images. That's quite a lot of production and easy to overlook. With visual mediums, we can often get caught up in the outcome and not be able to accurately determine the work effort that went into it. Thankfully, I do understand that effort and am happy to recognize it.

With the above in mind, producing content that visually entices and encourages the membership to engage with our systems and the user experience, I am happy to recommend Vyr for an Emerald Dagger in recognition. Thank you, Vyr. Even if you sigh in my general direction.

Kamjin is Kamjin. He has served as Justicar since my departure from the position and continues to be actively engaged in all aspects of the club. Why? Because the guy cares. A lot. He looks at this community and wants it to prosper harmoniously. There's something to be said about knowing your limits and playing within them. He really wants to define those limits as openly as we can, ensuring that members are free to basically do whatever they want within this sandbox we all enjoy without stomping on each other’s sand castles.

In the position of Justicar, spanning 24 months, a lot of the work happens behind the scenes. And that’s where it should stay. Naming and shaming isn’t what this club should be about. That said, since his last recognition, Kamjin has issued 4 verdicts and been involved in countless intermediations. In fact, he is in constant communication letting us know as issues arise alongside the steps he takes. In this way, Kamjin is extremely competent and we always know what is being done by the time it is enacted. And that exemplifies Kamjin as Justicar. Open, engaged, and working for the betterment of the club experience.

Though I can’t speak to everything Kamjin does, I am happy to recommend Kamjin for an Emerald Dagger in recognition. Thank you, Kammy-boy. You have been a reliable presence in the wake of my own service as Justicar and I’m glad to award you.

Primary reason

Donny is a workhorse wrapped in the bark of sass and the art of trolling. Not one to be felled, or to cry timber, he has constantly worked within the gaming community sharing interesting new products and encouraging people to play together. I honestly can’t think of a time where he wasn’t one of the clubs more prevalent gamers. But he also serves as an important voice in Council level discussions. He absolutely won’t hesitate to identify bull and call it out. There’s a stubbornness there. An unwillingness to yield on who he is and what he’s passionate about. And he translates that passion into success.

The Fist is a position within the Brotherhood that is deceptive. It seems quiet. Unassuming. It’s just paperwork right? Focused on the approval of games and CFs? Wrong. It's community. And Donny has pushed for community throughout his service as Fist. Often suffering the passions of that community, Donny has taken to the office of Fist to ensure continuing and lasting collaboration in play and experience. Notably, he took the Battlepass project through its entirety as a replacement for the aging leaderboard system and made it complete. Now in the wild, members have engaged with the Battlepass and known exactly where and how they stood in their path to unlocking the awards it provides and the specialized items that Councillors have designed over the years. As well, he’s held a constant finger to the pulse of the gaming community, looking at constant balancing passes in a never-ending battle against the “grind” and ensuring the value of our Crescents remain.

For all those reasons, and the community fostered that includes multiple chat threads dedicated to specific games that constantly yells at me to read them, I am happy to recommend Donny for a Ruby Scepter in recognition. Thank you, Donny. You have given of yourself to this club even to the detriment of your sanity time and time again. The least I can do is recognize that.

Side note: don't you dare hand me a physical letter addressing me as Grand Master again!
