Additional reasons: Kanal has continued to enjoy success as the one-man show behind the Brotherhood's trivia sessions. Trivia is a bit unusual and Kanal has slightly more to manage than the average competition organizer. In addition to the normal work of creating the competition and handling placement--both of which are bit more work than your average DB comp--Kanal has the almost unique task of managing a Discord bot's integration on the DB server. He doesn't just write the trivia 'quizzes,' he also inputs them into Quizbot and handles the convoluted bot commands required to kick them off in #trivia. Kanal is also one of the very few members on the server who sets up Discord server events for his activities, and, to my knowledge, the only one who isn't a core Council member or Consul.

In an era when most competition organizers fire and forget instead of advertising and hyping their competitions in chat, Kanal's reliability in terms of scheduling, tagging the Quizzard server role, and setting up server events has paid off. By my count, his trivia sessions have generated roughly a thousand competition participations since I last pitched in on an award for him last July.
