As I look upon the end of Arch's term, I think to myself...didn't I just write his rec? Yes. I did. But I'm doing it again, because he earned it.
When I try to quantify what an Elder promo looks like, Arch is quite easily the picture. As a member, Arch is a machine that is constantly working not just for his unit, but also the club as a whole. His impact? Far reaching. His effort? All encompassing. His consistency? Unending. I don't even think Arch knows how to be a retired member. It is a no-brainer to me to put to words that he should be promoted into the upper tier of our ranking structure.
As a friend, I've had the pleasure to be on both the side of the observer on the outside seeing the product of his effort and the fly on a wall as he workshops and plans. Very rarely is it a case of "I want this" and it is almost always a case of "what could be best for the system." That's the Elder mojo right there. Other recs can attest to all he has done for COU and serving under other leaders, but I am so glad to be able to add my two cents.

Arch is one of those impressive members who just keeps going. He has years of leadership experience under his belt, from AED up through CON, as CM, RHoJ, and now as the club's first Exarch. In his new role, he has worked to standardize Discord-based RP into a trackable and awardable activity and to raise awareness of it in the club. That project is far from complete, but his efforts so far demonstrate his commitment to this club and his desire to improve the member experience.

Arch is one of my heroes, there’s really no other way to say it. He works tirelessly for the benefit of the members of this club and his concrete accomplishments are numerous as others will attest. Beyond his positions and project work Arch embodies lead by example.
I’ve had the honor of working with Arch at the clan, in the ACC and informally on all sorts of proposals. Arch taught me to temper advocacy with consensus building, intuition with data, and adversity with patience. In short, I am a better member, leader and person because I know him and I can safely say he has had that same impact across COU and the club as a whole.

In a previous award, I stated, “I honestly don't know how someone can do all the things that Arch does and still be considered sane.” This holds true when looking at Arch’s activity over the past couple of years. Whether it was Questor of Sunrider, Right Hand of Justice, Shadow Academy: Docent, Combat Master, or the newly created Exarch, Arch is always finding a way to make this Club better. For example, working to create a more structured way to roleplay that works with our current system by taking what COU has been doing and incorporating it into the other Club roleplay systems. This certainly will have a lasting impact on the longevity of the DB as we are able to reach out and expand into new territory. At home, Arch is always encouraging and guiding both our new and older members to be better and to make sure they get out of this Club what they’ve come here for.
Since his last promotion Arch has been granted 1 Ruby Scepter and 1 Amethyst Kukri. He participated in 317 competitions earning him 3 Gold Nova, 5 Silver Nova, 3 Bronze Nova, 15 Crescents with Diamond Stars, 32 Crescents with Ruby Stars, 61 Crescents with Amethyst Stars, 45 Crescents with Sapphire Stars, 22 Crescents with Emerald Stars, 10 Crescents with Topaz Stars and 2 Crescents with Quartz Stars. His gaming activity has earned him 1 Pendant of Blood, 58 Clusters of Fire, and 11 Clusters of Earth. Writing-wise he has 18,595 words of fiction that have earned him 59 Clusters of Ice. He has 39 Clusters of Graphite, 3 Dark Side Scrolls, 4 Scrolls of Foundation, 2 Scrolls of the Master, 13 Legion of the Scholar, 1 Seal of Loyalty, 13 Seals of Visions, and 14 Seals of Enmity. I honestly don't know how someone can do all the things that Arch does and still be considered sane. He's been a long-time member of Odan-Urr, is the current Exarch and Right Hand of Justice, all while putting up big numbers and burning through competitions in his spare time between work, family, and other projects.
In Odan-Urr, Arch's presence has always been more than welcome. He's always willing to guide and teach others, support the Clan and it’s endeavors and offers to do the little things that are often overlooked. For example, he recently went through our entire library of Clan fictions, sorted them in chronological order, and assigned them numbers to provide us with a more straightforward and organized catalog.
Recently, he played a significant role in planning for our Clan's reconstruction and drafting the document used to propose our new fictional direction and provide ideas for how we currently operate as a Summit. His insight, especially from an Ex-Consul's perspective, has dramatically improved how the Summit works by reducing waste and alleviating many of the issues of more bloated Summits. Additionally, while planning our new storyline, Arch contributed fresh ideas. While I can't provide details, as the story is unfolding, his experienced eyes on the project helped bring it all together.
Now for some numbers, since his last award, he's participated in 224 competitions earning himself 14 Crescents with Diamond Stars, 20 Crescents with Ruby Stars, 41 Crescents with Amethyst Stars, 36 Crescents with Sapphire Stars, 17 Crescents with Emerald Stars, 7 Crescents with Topaz Stars and 2 Crescents with Quartz Stars. Fiction wise he's written a total of 12,773 words in 2 ACC battles and 14 Fiction Activities, earning himself 39 Clusters of Ice. For gaming, he's gained 1 Pendant of Blood, 37 Clusters of Fire, and 4 Clusters of Earth in 13 Gaming Activities. He's also earned 3 Dark Side Scrolls, 1 Scroll of the Master, 11 Legion of the Scholar, and 1 Seal of Loyalty. For his efforts during the last RoS, Arch had full bin participation and earned 2 Gold Nova, 3 Silver Nova, 2 Bronze Nova, and 14 Seals of Enmity. He has also completed 7 Shadow Academy courses and earned 2 Degrees. While not only a consumer of competitions, Arch has also organized 41 competitions, many of those for our 10th Anniversary Event and as QUA of House Sunrider.

Arch is the best kind of thorn in my side. As one of my Hands, he has been an instrumental part of the continual monitoring and mediation of issues within the club. Within the capacity of his duties, Arch has had the opportunity to be directly involved in the investigation of potential cloning cases, alongside contacting new joins that trigger matches with existing accounts. This is in addition to his constant voice in the observation and discussion of behaviors and potential cases.
The Chamber of Justice is somewhat of a black box. If we're doing our job, you have no idea what we're doing, and that's the way I like it. But sometimes you gotta air out what the spooks are up to. In Arch's case, he's a beast of an investigator. He is able to compile and articulate extensive case details and background, drawing a factual line of events that can be presented for clear understanding. He has been instrumental in making my life a million times easier when it comes to the compilation of case documentation. Additionally, he has been a huge help in investigating and understanding IP locations and correlations.
It would be easy to sit back and push for punishments, as is his role, but Arch shows an understanding of the inherent fairness the system is designed to represent. He advocates for slow and methodical conclusions that allow for every positive possibility before falling onto the negative. He isn't punitive, but logical, and I appreciate that immensely.
I would not be lying to say that my transition onto the Chamber would have been infinitely more burdensome without his presence and I can't state enough how much that has meant to me and the workings of this club, for all members. Thank you, Arch, and you deserve this.
