Primary reason: Hilgrif has continued to be an integral part of the CNS team at the member and summit levels. He has shown a keen interest in seeing the Clan succeed in events and vendettas and any competition we go after. The daily and weekly cluster counts are almost always in part due to Hilgrif. It is who he is, showing others what a key member of CNS he is.

So just since his last award a few months ago, Hilgrif has completed 25 competitions, 8 bracket competitions, and 4 container competitions. He has done 150 gaming events as well. Through this, including the GJWXIII, Hilgrif has earned: 450 Clusters of Earth, 198 Clusters of Fire, a number of other Clusters and Crescents. He also earned a Gold and Silver Nova from the war, got 16th overall and 5th for the clan.

Hilgrif has not only been a go-getter in the competitions and vendettas, but he has been a critical resource as a leader and strategic mind. He was essential during the war in our team Battleplan (we took 5th) and co-op fiction (took 8th), as well as the clan run-on. He has also helped plan for competitions and events and trying to pump up the members to keep things going.

Our Knight Hilgrif is not only a great member, a great BTL, a great contributor, a great planner, and just a great guy - he's a top example of a DB and Clan achiever. I cannot be more proud to present this award to my friend Hilgrif!

Additional reasons: One thing that has been rather marked is that in what Hilgrif sets his mind to, he puts a surprising amount of thought in to. See, Hilgrif has had a lot of conversations with myself about what competitions or competition formats would best serve our Clan. We have chatted quite a bit about gaming competitions, and there are two things that he has focused on: what would best appeal to his audience, and how to ensure fairness across the board.

During the course of the Great Jedi War, it came to my attention that Hilgrif made a point of making himself available to play matches with other DJB members. Now, even given that War time is just about the most competitive period for our Club, Hilgrif strode to keep the playing field even. This is just the most obvious, apparent example I can give of how he wants to keep things fair and fun for all. The two of us game together rather often. He has spent a lot of time with me bouncing ideas or discussing things he has observed, and has sought council from his Consul regularly on what things might work, not work, or what things have been done before. He has demonstrated a desire to keep things fresh.

Hilgrif certainly specializes in gaming, but he is also willing to stretch himself. He is willing to try at new things, and to challenge himself, and I think that his performance during the War was a trial by fire for this young Knight.

For the above reasoning, I will gladly add my voice in support of this award for our resident Bug-man, Hilgif!

Hilgrif is one of those rare members that has an enthusiastic competitive streak to help push others along to greatness with him (see his gaming exploits, helping encourage a whole new crop of gamers in CNS, something that CNS has traditionally lacked for generations) balanced well with thoughtfulness, as he is consistently working toward the goal of making Naga Sadow better, and it's members better as a result. You don't always see this sort of mixture in as young of a member as Hilgrif is, but I know that I am thankful for it, and CNS needs more just like him.

Other people will have given the laundry list of competitions and medals he has already earned, so I won't duplicate efforts there. But I did want to put my oar in on thanking Hilgrif for his work so far, to help encourage him along his path, knowing full well where it could lead him.
