My recommendation:

Justicar is likely the most unenviable job in the club. When we are forced to turn to the Covenant, rare it may be, it is often under less than pleasant circumstances. As the Arbiter of the Covenant, the brunt of that unpleasantness often falls on the shoulders of the Justicar. As a result, those shoulders must absolutely be both broad and strong in order to carry the weight of the office and responsibilities therein. And, on occasion, those shoulders must be lowered and brought to bear in the face of controversy, criticism, and open hostility. Sometimes, the only way around is through.

Taigikori is one such Justicar. In his tenure he has had to face some of the Brotherhood's most controversial cases. He has had to make tough decisions for the good of us all and he has had to do it under intense scrutiny from every corner of the club. He has done so with dignity, competence, and fairness. No more could be asked. No more could be given. Such is the work of the Justicar.

For his service and contributions spanning many a trying time, it is only fitting that Taigikori join the ranks of the Elders and with that, bear all the responsibilities and enjoy all the privileges therein.

Thank you for all you have done from a grateful Brotherhood.

Raken, Deputy Grand Master

Sarin's recommendation:

The Justicar of the Dark Brotherhood can be the sleepiest of positions for months at a time. It is the one position that we require less of when things are going exceptionally well. The test of the Justicar is not those times, but in the times where things are not going well. We need Justicars who are capable of handling their duties in accordance with the Covenant when they are called upon. This includes cases that are unpopular or cases that require the punishment of popular members.

Unfortunately the nature of the job results in Justicars receiving an exceptional amount of criticism and very little praise. Thankfully, we have the systems in place to ensure our JSTs are rewarded and this system is one of them. Taigy has had his fair share of criticism and has taken his fair share of lumps, but he has done his job and he has done it with the best interests of our club in his heart. We can't ask any more than that from the JSTs. His promotion to the Elder ranks of our club is commensurate with his maturity in facing the adversity of his position with skill and elan.

Thanks for your hard work and patience.

GM Pravus, Voice of the Dark Brotherhood

In a club such as ours there are always those who are seen unfavorably due to the position that they hold. One of these people that is seen in bad light is Taigikori, as Justicar of the Brotherhood, he is easily the most disliked person in the club. As a member of his staff for the last couple of months, I have been thrown into a part of the Brotherhood that i've never known before. This club is built on a foundation that gives members certain rights and protections and when one of these are broken, a member finds themselves before the Chamber of Justice. Taigikori has shown that he is repeatedly up to the challenges of the very unpopular job, even when he has had a book of insults thrown at him or his judgement thrown into question he has always remained steadfast and stands by the Covenant in how to handle the situations. The job of Justicar is a hard one, it leaves those who wear the hat in an unpopular spot and it is quite thankless, however I am writing this recommendation for a promotion of Taigikori as a way to say thank for the work he has done.

Exarch Teu, Left Hand of Justice

Taigikori's first action as Justicar was to appoint me as his Left Hand of Justice and I have been on his team since that time. I have seen first hand the work that he has put into his duties and the pressure that he has been under, as is a large part of his job. Despite jabs, insults, and profanities thrown his way, he has been unshakable as Justicar of the Brotherhood. He never allows his personal feelings to get in the way of ensuring a fair and impartial trial and considers all of the evidence at hand prior to making a decision on an action. All of this is what every Justicar is required to do and be.

Two major amendments have occurred under his tenure: extending the HoJ terms and Appeals Panel terms by 6 and 3 months, respectively; creating the Electorate, which adds the Quaestors of Houses not affiliated with Clans to any vote required by the Dark Council as dictated by the Covenant. He has presided over eight cases since taking the reins from Kir and his performance in all of them, regardless of how unpopular the results may have been, has been exemplary. I have watched him dismiss cases the instant he sees exculpatory evidence. He is also the first Justicar to send a trial to the Appeals Panel to ensure that the Covenant had been followed to the letter when he saw the size and scope of a case that shook the foundations of this club.

Despite the questions of his character, the personal attacks on him, the off-colour and backhanded comments thrown his way, he remains unshakable. He has served nearly two years of excellent duty as Justicar in the Brotherhood and I am proud to recommend that Taigikori Aybara be promoted to the rank of Dark Side Adept to join the Elders of this great club.

Alaris Jinn, Right Hand of Justice

The Brotherhood has a lot of myriad roles, and not many are more reviled than that of Justicar. The Justicar is our executioner, our tax collector, our police man. This is a role that every society must have to maintain order, but no one wants to deal with them personally.

It is not a well loved position, to be the one who must punish those who do wrong. Three times in the last 9 months, there have been high profile cases coming throuh the chamber. These cases polarize individuals, make them feel so strongly that it's easy for our members to forget decorum.

Ultimately, it is one of the most difficult positions, and one of the least recognized by the populace. The amount of work that he has to do, the amount of stress he goes through is unbelievable. And yet, he has had enough time to work on various other projects within the club. And it seems that every time he clears a hurdle and looks for some new place to make his mark in a more positive way, more of the negative work pops up for him to take care of.

Now, a normal member would only be able to take so much of this. They'd keep their cool for a short while, then resign. But this is not Taigikori's way. He has plowed through it, bearing the brunt of anger and converting it into creative energy. He worked to help grade vendetta events up to the crusade. He has worked behind the scenes to try to improve the brotherhood from the perspective of his old haunt, the shadow academy. He has worked to help finetune the covenant, which gets tested with each and every case. Yet, none of this work gets the attention that he gets when he wears the black hood.

It's important, though. Important and worth noticing.

You are among very few people who can do this, among very few who could thrive under that stress and come back for seconds. Taigikori has been an elder for some time. It's time we recognize that on his dossier.

Thank you.

~Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith.

Additional reasons

Taigikori has one of the most difficult jobs in the Brotherhood. As Justicar he has to make decisions that decide people's fate when they screw up. This year alone he has more then earned his paycheck (if he got paid, that is). We have had several situations requiring his services and each time he has dealt with each one to the best of his abilities and in accordance with our Covenant, has issued forth penalties based on the evidence of each offense and the seriousness of it. Each time has been met with disquiet dissolution by one or more people involved. Taigs has taken each situation and did his job accordingly, regardless of the persecution he may have been met with. As such, and because he doesn't get paid to do this, it is with great honor that I recommend him for this promotion to Darkside Adept and to take his place among the rank of elder.

The position of Justicar within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood is one of the most challenging within our club. No one likes the Justicar. He is always biased, always out to get someone, and never fair. Fortunately for the Dark Brotherhood, we have Taig. Taig has found the uncanny ability to prosecute multiple individuals, but do it in a manner that has left little room to argue his decisions. Clones have been dealt with fairly, trolls have received vengeance, and those who would threaten our members were met with severe consequences. Taig has continued to protect our members and enforce our club's laws in a manner that is befitting of his position. Congrats! -GM Pravus, Voice

Justicar, like Master at Arms, can often be an unpopular, but critical role within the club. We use a unique system of justice to ensure that our members are treated fairly whether an issue arises due to their actions or another's. The man who sits on top of that delicate system has the unenviable job of dispensing this justice. People speak of "impartiality," "unbiased opinion." News flash everyone, there is no such thing. But there does exist the rare gift of being able to set aside one's personal feelings as fully as can be done and following the evidence wherever it may lead. This is what Taig has tried his best to do for us in his tenure as Justicar. And for this I am truly grateful.

-Raken, Shadow Hand

Justicars get a raw deal. They are the bogeyman that the jackholes of the club are threatened with, making him a target for the most dedicated trolls. In the past years, the amount of cases had been minimal, but there must be something in the water with the number of complaints flwoing through to him lately. Yet, Taigi has been able to keep his head clear and keep his heart out of it. He has been able to look at each case with a newcomer's eyes, and deal with them appropriately, no matter how politically charged the climate becomes. this is the mark of a Great Justicar, and I am certain that history will see him in that light. For now, I would extend my thanks, and a small token of my appreciation for him. Thank you, Taigikori.

Taigikori has been an outstanding Headmaster. He has also served as Magistrate to the Fist. The Shadow Academy runs very well and smoothly under his guidance. A plethora of new courses have been opened under his aegis. He has trained an excellent staff, and Ronovi's solid work under his leadership reflects well on Taigikori's training regimen. The Shadow academy has become more solid, responsive, and offers more to the members under Taigikori's leadership. I've seen the SA grow by leaps and bounds under his guidance. Taigikori is very responsive and helpful in any dealings I have had with him, both as a regular member and as a Clan leader. I can safely say on behalf of Clan Naga Sadow, that Taigikori deserves serious commendation of the highest level for his outstanding performance. Congratulations!!! ~ Macron Goura Sadow, Consul of Clan Naga Sadow

Even with plenty going on in his own personal life, Taig has managed to keep doing his job as Headmaster succesfully. He is constantly improving and expanding the SA courselist, and consistently works with new members to help them along. Member retention is up, and more members have made it through the first few ranks then 2 years before. This is not due to the requirements going down. Those have not changed in difficulty. It is, however, due to the attention people get. Congrats, Taig. Here's to the Grind Path! ~Korras, Master at Arms

Taig's an awesome person to talk to when working on projects. Personally I work for him as a Magistrate and he works for me as my own Magistrate. Although we've officially been on each other's staff's for a short period we have been un-officially attached to one another since I joined the Dark Council. We bounce ideas off one another, trying to figure out the best way for our department to be better at what it does. Prior to ToR's release, my staff was shown the work Araxis and I had been working on for months in preparation for the release. Taig spoke his mind about the plans to make sure that the plan was sound, and pointed out a couple issues that could come up in game. A lot of the time I would call up Taig during the summer to discuss ideas about new Shadow Academy Courses, re-writing the GMRG exam, while he would bounce off ideas he had for the grind path to make it look freaking awesome. Trigger deserves this award, he's a great friend and ally, a hard worker, and will always play the devils advocate for you to make sure your plans are sound and proofed. Congrats man, and well done. ~ OE Fremoc Pepoi Sadow, Fist of the Brotherhood

Taigikori Aybara Dupar has been a wonderful addition to the DC and the Shadow Academy. He has brought a number of new SA courses has worked diligently to find ways to reach the newer members. He is a credit to the club and it is with great pleasure that I recommend him for this sacramental award. Congrats, Taigi! ~Ashia Keibatsu, Aedile House Taldryan

Taig has continued to devote all of his time and energy into improving both the SA and himself. I have seen him do everything in his power to ensure the Shadow Academy is more than just a place for newbies to do some tests in. He has worked to expand and update the courses into ones that can be useful to the DB at large. He has attempted to work the SA into every facet of the DB, making it a staple of life for the club. He has continued, diligently, to ensure the Grind Path is completed with only coding needed to fully have it implemented. As I had said earlier, he has also shown a large willingness to improve himself, so that he can better the club. He has come to me on numerous occasions for guidance on how to improve himself personally and is always willing to help out in any way he can. That was proven in the last GJW where he jumped into any spots where others may not have had time to grade events. Keep up the great work, Taig! ~Halcyon Taldrya, Sith Lord

Taigikori is the perfect Headmaster. I'll let that sit for a moment, as it could stand on it's own as a reccomendation for the Ruby Scepter that I am giving him. He has driven the expansion of the Shadow Academy since he took the office, creating and authoring new courses and degrees. He has worked with me to get more older members interested in the SA again with things like the society and character sheet and possessions integration. He has also taken the lead and done the lion's share of the work on the Grind Path, a new methodology to set our hooks into the new members better, to try to increase member retention. He is where the rubber meets the road for many of our new members. And he has done it seamlessly. Taigikori, you are an inspiration to many of us, and I hope to be here long enough to reward you for it in the future. ~Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith
