Dek performs key duties in the house Imperium leadership and we’ve been very happy with his work since rejoining our summit team. Since his last recognition he’s put out a solid war performance, placing in both battleplan and multi-objective prompt to add to the 11 seals of wrath he earned for participation. Dek has helped with a wide range of projects in the house in terms of mentorship, encouraging participation and fictional development of the team. He’s an essential part of the team, a reliable presence in our planning chat and I’m happy to reward Dek’s efforts with a Steel Cross. Congratulations!

I’ve always found Dek’s attitude and approach to the responsibilities of leadership as refreshing. He has strong convictions about what a leader is and what a leader should be. And he holds himself - and others - to the same level of commitment. Sometimes this ruffles feathers, but without his continuous drive, I doubt we would have seen some of the vast improvements and changes in the Clan over the past several months.

He was a HUGE factor in bridging our old Imperium Summit to our new Imperium Summit; providing insight into every step of the decision-making process (new Battle Teams, new BT Leaders, planning documents, working the planning strategy, sharing & teaching the new BTLs, setting up future BT-centric competitions). He was vital in our war efforts (urging for pre-war organization, creation of the CSP GJW channel, proofing of the CSP war document, outreach and organization of team events). And he served the Brotherhood a great duty after the war to create, distribute, and record results from a post-GJW survey. The results have since been used by our leadership to create new direction for 2018 and were shared with the GM & DGM to give insight into CSP’s war experience.

Thank you for being an exceptional role model of a member and a leader, Dek. You’ve earned this Steel Cross a dozen times over.

It is my honour and privilege to be recommending a Grand Cross for my friend, Dek Ironius II, in recognition of his overall activity, dedicated leadership, and continuing efforts to further the experience and entertainment for Imperium and it’s members.

Since his last promotion, Dek has orangized/participated in 57 competitions, 3 ACC Battles, 3 Fiction Activities with a combined total of 663 words, 7 Run-on posts with a total of 8126 words, 17 Shadow Academy course passed with 5 Degrees gained, 9 News postings with 8 unit reports made, and has made active communication efforts in email, telegram, and DJB website (31 comments made) - all of which are in pursuit of engaging and developing Imperium membership.

In addition, he’s had two months served as Battleteam Leader where he spent long hours developing a new concept for the Battleteam as it transitioned from Shadow Guard to Crucesignatis Imperialis. This was a mountainous effort as it was the initial push for a member driven unit where Dek was responsible for gathering membership feedback and trying to develop it under the charge of the clan direction. This also included the additional effort of developing lore ideas and documenting those on the wiki. All of this, which I might add, was done while Imperium had no Aedile and the BTL position was basically seen as a second in command - providing assistance to the Quaestor in house development until Dek was actually boosted to the official position as Aedile. Since then Dek has provided a combined total of 3 months serving as Imperium Aedile; continuing to develop our house community by taking the lead responsibilities of coordinating house competitions and monitoring all forms of house activities while also being a coach and cheerleader for our members, assisting in the guidance and instruction of our new Battleteam Leaders, and in general assisting me with further house focuses such as house lore development and project management - including covering for me for a two week period while I was away.

From everything listed above, I think it easily explains the effort Dek has made for our community but I want to highlight how much of a treasure he is to Imperium and myself. The importance of Dek’s work has help strengthen a summit team that was decimated just over a mere month ago. He has set a foundation for the rest of us to build upon and every day is contributing to our continued growth in some form or another. To date I haven’t had such a great summit, and this is in part because I’ve never had such a great Aedile. So Dek, my friend, keep up the amazing work you are doing and thank you for all your efforts today. Imperium has been shaped for the better, by your hands.

I’m glad to add my additional recommendation for Dek Ironius II to receive a Grand Cross for the service he has provided since his last promotion. Much of the stats have been recorded above but I’d like to additional praise Dek for his work as a leader within Imperium. From when he took the mantle of Battleteam Leader, he was my right hand man. Being without an Aedile left me relying on Dek as my second and Dek gladly rose to the challenge. This is why I was delighted to accept him as my Aedile later as he already had been doing this from his capacity as a Battleteam Leader and I wouldn’t have seen it develop any other way. From his efforts developing a Battleteam while navigating with conflicting messaging (sorry for this) to his work on Daybreak as he fought to provide more member input in the lore development of the clan; Dek has always had the best interest for the members at heart. Thank you for your service, Dek.
