Howlader, or as I know him, Howie, is somewhat of an enigma to me. He is a Dark Jedi Master, and is apparently acquainted not only with most of our elders and leader on a RL first name basis, he knows the EH leadership as well. We’re incredibly pleased however with what he has brought with him from wherever it was he spawned. His presence in IRC is ubiquitous and he engages even the newest of members in talk. I would go so far as to say that he is the #Taldryan conversation Bot.

Most DJMs don’t set very high of a standard for personal activity. Having been a member of OUR DB since 2008, and a DJM for many years prior to that, one would expect Howie to be nothing more than Roster Candy, something beautiful we use to adorn our Roll. This is as far from the truth as possible. He’s become known recently as something of a Trivia Whore, participating whenever he has the chance. In the course of a month, from mid-February to mid-March, he earn no less than five Legion of the Scholar.

If for that fact alone, I recommend that Howlader be award this Anteian Cross.

Howie! Holy crap, where to begin? Howie is first and foremost a Brotherhood historian par excellence and living library, and on innumerable occasions when one of our Journeymen asks the Summit a question about a past Vendetta or event (which by all rights we should know the answer to), Howie is oftentimes the one to pipe up with the answer and cover our tails. Nor can his unusual vigor be understated; in terms of both IRC presence and the simple participation that is the bread and butter of our Club, Howie at Dark Jedi Master is more active and energetic than some of our Equites! Howlader, simply put, is a great example for all of his Clanmates and is a proof that being an Elder isn't synonymous with being inactive or apathetic. So, unfortunately I don't have my normal partner in crime to do the dirty work of going through and evaluating everything that the recipient has done. I usually leave that sort of thing to Howie, because beyond the fact that he gets some weird amount of thrills from the mysteries of medal and promotion craft in the Brotherhood, it typifies our working relationship. Howie is my right hand man and the complement to me in many ways. He's rational when I'm angry, passionate about things I don't care about, and he's always willing to do what needs to be done.

Since his last merit award from me, Howie's actually been a little bit inactive. I mean sure, he's posted 6 reports, and participated in nearly 40 competitions and created and run 6 more. He's been middling active in gaming garnering over 100 CFs, and has chalked up 7 various crescents to go along with them. He's somehow found 5 more courses to pass and another degree to earn in the Shadow Academy... and he's somehow, beyond all comprehension of mine, completed an ACC battle.

The ACC battle needs to take special note, because while he's notorious for his hatred of all this fictional and writing related... Howie participated in an ACC match for one sole reason: to help a member of Taldryan progress through the journeymen ranks. That's what Howie is, and that's what Howie does. He serves Taldryan in any way he can, and he constantly whines and bitches while doing it. It's also why we love him.

Congratulations on this Anteian Cross, Howie. Add it to your little pile of awards you think you don't deserve but clearly do. Jackass.

Howie got mainly involved in possessions when we hit closed beta, and was part of a team that did an initial review of the Clan interfaces for purchasing items and slotting them as Consul of Taldryan. This initial feedback led to major improvements in the usability of these screens, and delivered enhanced functionality to open beta that's available today. As well, he was invaluable based on his experience in discussing the salary payment policy. providing his knowledge and advice on the relative value of medals and positions to help balance the entire system. For all this support and effort I recommend Howlader for an Anteian Cross. Thank you!
