House Primus Goluud

Weekly Report #17

June 09th, 2003

QUA: J`Rai

AED: Raistlin

RM : Var Zoraan

Stuff that was done:

Ok, let's talk about why life sucks. First, it rained all week, so i feel like i should have gills and fins and swim around the streets now that they resemble rivers. Aside from that, sleep and me aren't speaking. I spent 4 hours of friday night tossing and turning after midnight. before midnight, i had been hanging out with friends playing video games. after those 4 hours of nonsense, i was reading, attempting to get me tired so i could atleast get some sleep before i had to work saturday. no luck, so i ended up working my 8 hour shift with less energy then a dead battery. and of course, it rained again all friggin day. i had to run to the pizza shop down the street for one lousy slice of pizza on my lunch break in the pouring rain. but that wasnt' so bad, i like having 2 showers in one day, it's almost refreshing.

On a side note, I owe my college 1200 bucks for my fall semester classes by the 11th of this month. That wouldn't be a problem if I actually had the money. I'd probably have the money had I been informed of the payment-due date when I registered. That's one complaint I have about registering online. Oy, the things I do b/c of laziness.

Now, on a DB-level, NOTHING BIG HAPPENED. Thursday and Friday I completely forgot about the 2 tournaments I planned to run, and since nobody asked me about it or complained, I figured I was safe. hehehe. As far as I can tell, noone did anything except maybe idle on IRC. Awards were given out for the GJW. You all remember that wonderful event, don't you? Well, just in case you forgot, only 3 of us participated in Phase I, with me (the worst of the 3) getting 2nd place in one of the events. It just goes to show you that even though you may suck, luck occasionally smiles on you. I don't know if Phase II rewards were given out, but for his work in that, Raist should get the title of God since he was practically undefeated during all of Phase II. I think he only had 1 defeat and it was because he was drunk or something.

Aside from all of that fun stuff, I haven't gotten diddily-crap from anyone. This better change or I'm flushing the roster and starting over. Raist Var and Pheniox, you guys too. I need your reports by Saturday night at the latest, and not just uploaded to djb.org, I don't check often, only once in a blue moon and that's just if i remember. If I don't see a notice in my inbox that you've done a report, I assume you didn't do one.

Oh, something else I just remembered. From reading Goatham's report last week, you should already be aware that I am not only handling HPG, but for the forseeable future, I am also taking care of HMR, our Krath house. Note that this should not take away from my focus with you guys, I'm just attempting to help out where I can.

Aedile Report:

Medals & Other Awards:

Guardian KiwiBuzzsaw Recieved a Crescent with Amethyst Star for designing

Goat a new wife! Congrats!

Courses Passed:

  • None that I'd know of (again times 2)

Various' Issues:

Still not many replies to our House AWOL check that I'd know of... Rai, do

you have more?

Still no submission to the Comp listed below... People, do you have more?

Come on, it's a creative comp where you can basically do whatever you want!

Still, I'd appreciate if all of you at least tried!

Var's Latin Lesson of the Week: Ita arma tui lucis ardete! - Thy weapon

shall be glowing with light!

Var's Reportly special:

Three things:

  1. Reply to the AWOL check people! - still...

  2. Do something so I can write something in each of my official announcement

sections! (Recrtuit for Roster, Compete for Medals, pass courses!)

IMPORTANT!

  1. Var's One and Only FIRST House Competition! - Creative ideas for the

weekly Holocron Hunt. -Submit Something! The comp is up til next Saturday!

This is the basic outline of a Competition Idea for a weekly House

competition.

This week it will start off with a Creative Competition - Send in your

Suggestions, Ideas, Graphics, Banners, Competitions Homepages (pretty much

ANYthing you can come up with) to me and and J'Rai.

Everyone sending in a good submission will be granted the right to rant

about this comp once it has started. Other awards will be worked out when we

see the submissions, due to the diverse nature of this competition. Also

keep in mind that anything you do or say now will improve conditions for you

later in the comp.

Ideas my Include Prize Graphics of Holocrons, refinements to the system,

anything of the like.

Accessories needed: A Holocron, some players, 2 timeframes, some

restrictions

Technicals: As the name suggests, the players in this competition will hunt

the Holocron by means of 1vs1 duels in any discipline (be it Obelisk Duels /

Krath Combat / Sith Flying). The Nature of the events suggests to have one

Holocron for each discipline.

The first timeframe will be the duration of the I-Games 2003. The second one

(approximated due to lack of better knowledge :P) will be set to be ONE DAY

(24 hours).

In the beginning, 2 randomly chosen Jedi, having expressed their wish to

participate in the hunt for a certain discipline, duel by all means allowed

(see below) until the death of one or one giving up (see below). The winner

gets the Holocron AND 3 points. The loser recieve 2 points. From this moment

on, Timeframe 2 is counting!

The winner may be challenged by any contendant at any given time. He will

then duel the challenger as described before. Again, the winner will get 3,

the loser 1 point. Timeframe 2 is reset and again, counting.

If NO challenge is placed within timeframe 2, the last winner gets 2 points

and may hang on to the holocron until either a challenge is placed or the

competition is ending altogether. The timeframe start counting again ever 24

hours.

If the holder of the Holocron does not answer to a challenge within

timeframe 2 (at most!), he loses the Holocron and gets 0 points instead of

  1. The competition resumes exactly like it has begon, with 2 non-holders

battling over the Holocron.

Restrictions: - Typical 1on1 Meelee rules, Obelisk / Sith at least up to 10

etc etc. - No more than 3 conscutive challenges (including the first) may be

going on between 2 players!

Deadline is Saturday the 14th of June.

Comments on this comp by any Clan member are welcome.

Best regards
