Combat Master Report

Greetings from the DC's most handsome and modest member.

Another week has passed in the Combat Master, some more blood has been spilt, some more people kicked the bucket, and we have new two additions in our judging personnel: Everyone please welcome Judges Kaiann and Zekk! Welcome guys, I'm sure you'll both do great.

ACC news:

The most important announcement for this week is the fact that there has been a slight alteration in the ranking advancement requirements within the ACC. I have discussed this with several individuals, and it came down to the fact that the requirements are way too high, and something to back this up is that the ACC has been open for two months now and there is no Squire in the Centre. Thus, the requirements will be as follows:

  • Squire: 3 wins.

-Fighter: 5 wins.

-Pit Fighter: 10 wins.

-Gladiator: 15 wins.

-Swordmaster: 20 wins.

-Knight: 25 wins.

-Knight Lord: 30 wins.

-Slayer: 40 wins.

So, the advancement in the ranks will be much swifter and easier. Bare in mind that in order to become a Sword master you must have won 50% of your battles, a Knight 60% of your battles, a Knight Lord 70% of your battles and Slayer 75% of your battles. In order to gain the ultimate two ranks, Champion and Supreme Champion, you must win a DB-wide ladder.

As for people asking questions about Character Sheets, I have written a Character Sheet Guide and it is situated in the ACC Compendium, where any questions of yours will be answered.

The Celebration Ladder holds 22 members at the moment, and we are hoping to reach 36 in order to open it. So I ask for both members and judges to wrap up their Initiation fights ASAP, so that the members may participate in it.

Upcoming stuff:

  • I will be shortly writing a Judges' Guide, in which the Judges and Trainers will follow certain guidelines about approving Character Sheets and judging and approving battles.

-An ACC Shadow Academy fighting course is in the works, which will provide help to those who wish to enhance their combat writing skills.

-I am currently working with Trevarus on advanced Character Sheets, which will give a more detailed description of your character's skills and flaws, thus making the ACC more realistic. There will also be a Dark Side Force Power Guide, with guidelines to distributing skill points in said powers.

I do believe that's about it, until next week, this is Combat Master Xizor.

"Acta est fabula"

Umm... wouldn't it be better if the ladder had 32 participants? That'd be a little more convenient for a single-elimination tournament such as this...

How would 32 be ANY better than 36? Either way you'd have a grid with even pairs on each side.

Well, 32 is better than 36 for a very simple reason. If you go with 36, there will come a point where there will be an uneven number of participants.

36 -> 18 -> 9

32 -> 16 -> 8 -> 4 -> 2 -> 1

Hence, 32 is much better for these types of things.

Hmmm...my apologies then. We'll wait until the participants are 32 and not 36.
