Oh, No. Not Another Headmaster Project!

Yea, I know, run in fear. :P

I've been re-evaluating a few things as of late, and have decided to make some semi-drastic changes to the operation thereof.

A few are minor, and a few are major. Some will concern you, some won't. For those that want the details, read on. The summary looks like this:

  • Course Teachers must report in to Pyralis + Mage by the 28th.
  • Combat Instructors with classes or material ready must report in to Dagger + freshjive + Mage by the 28th.
  • The Krath portion of the Combat Academy is hereby closed.
  • Awards will now (pending approval) be handed out at the Obelisk/Sith Combat Academy events.
  • To replace the Krath portion of the Combat Academy, the College of Lore has been created.
  • P:HM will remain as is, M:HM1 will be in charge of the Combat Academy, M:HM2 will be in charge of the new College of Lore.

And for those of you with some spare time, the details:

#1 - All Course Teachers who are currently active in their positions must report in to myself and Pyralis by no later than February 28th.

#2 - All Obelisk and Sith Combat Instructors who have a class outline and are trying to deliver it need to report in to Dagger, freshjive and myself no later than the 28th. Any Combat Instructor who has a class outline, but is NOT currently trying to deliver it, must report in ASAP and get their butts moving. Any Combat Instructor who doesn't fall into either of the above falls into the "Apathetic and Fired!" category.

#3 - The Krath section of the Combat Academy has been closed down. More details further on.

#4 - To encourage people to come out to the Obelisk and Sith Combat Academy classes, I will be having them registered as combat events. There will be a short instructional period, followed by an open match time. In addition to CF's, Crescents will be awarded - 5 points per win, 3 points per loss, top 3 point scores take home shinies. (And no, this hasn't been cleared yet, nobody rant at me for that, it's on the to-do list. >:P)

#5 - As the Krath section of the Combat Academy was less than functional, I have closed it down. Rising in its place is the even-better College of Lore. This little institution will thrill all those Krath who complain incessantly about the level of writing across the Brotherhood. The College will be divided into Sections named for writing styles - Prose, Poetry, Run-On's, Combat Run-On's (a la KCC), and Factual Writing (reports, articles, etc.). Each Section will be headed by a Dean, who will be assisted by 1-2 Sages. That's a grand total of up-to 15 people, all working hard to review any literature sent to them, and reply to the author with a list of improvements - most of which will be based around spelling, grammar, vocabulary, use of descriptive language, maintaining a theme, flow, use of literary devices, realism, and anything else the lovely people can come up with.

I will be dealing with applications for the College starting Friday.

#6 - I currently have three direct assistants. My Praetor, Pyralis, will continue in his functions - and no, I can't write that list out. Of my two Magistrates, Dagger and freshjive, one will unfortunately be asked to resign. I'm hoping they can work it out between themselves, or possibly one will step down to a Combat Instructor position. Magistrate 1 will remain dedicated to the Combat Academy, while Magistrate 2 will now oversee the new College of Lore.

That's the big ol' list for now... questions or concerns should be emailed to me and/or posted in the comments section.

Obelisk Battlelord Mage
Headmaster of the Shadow Academy

No problem there, I resign as M:HM....you shoulda taken my resignation when I offered it awhile back. Truth is, Dag and me dont really do anything and kinda scratched our heads about what we were supposed to do. Several times I asked what our purpose was and all I got was a "Run the Combat Academy" and no in depth explanation, kinda vague if you ask me. Anyways, no ill will or anything, i actually had started thinking about this again, so its all good. Thanks and good luck.

It looks like you have some excellent ideas Mage. I'll be interested to see them established.

I've been doing the best I can to guide you and Dagger, fresh. My apologies if the directions were a little murky at times.

If you want to stay on and help out still, there's still an open Combat Instructor position or two. And I'm sure Dagger would be more than willing to hire you. ;)

Trev - I appreciate the positive feedback. I've had a number of people comment on the College of Lore already, and most of what I've heard - well, no, all of what I've heard - has been people who are eager to see this get off the ground.
