This was a long week. I dunno why. It just felt like the weekend would never come. I think it has to do with my crazy schedule. Being gone from 8am-9pm every day makes for long days. Of course, it also makes for big paychecks and smart Jim's.

I watched Scarface last night and to my surprise, my girlfriend actually watched it with me. Of course, she fell asleep halfway through, but even if you've seen half of the movie you can consider yourself cultured and blessed. I feel it is essential for any man to own the famous ganster movies. You just aren't filled with testosterone unless your shelf holds the Godfather trilogy, Goodfellas, and Scarface, at least.

Seriously -- need the ganster movies on the shelf. Girls may not like the movies, but they like the feel of a man who owns them.

I got a ton of reading to do this weekend. Sucks. About 10 chapters to read in different books. It is a good thing that there is no school on Monday. Of course, I'm still going to go to work and get paid for a bit, but we'll see if i can't do some other stuff on the clock :).

Playing poker tonight at the pike house. If I'm not awake by 12:30 tomorrow you all have permission to individually msg me so my speakers beep and wake me up for the meeting.

As I announced a few days ago, we have released a new write-up for the DSC powers section. I would like to hear opinions on what you think of the changes. You can just comment on this news post.

The Clan Specific Powers and Order Specific Powers are being worked on. My Praetor, Sith Bloodfyre, has done a tremendous job on this and I am the bottleneck right now. I am going to get discussion going on that again and hopefully we will be able to make those proposals official soon.

In the meantime, just ignore those sections.

An ongoing project for any Dark Council is the update and maintenance of the manuals. In our case, it has been some time since the DSC has undergone a full-scale revision. It is truly needed.

Trev has been hard at work updating each section in turn. I think he is doing a phenominal job and is adding the appropriate amount of flavor to the compendium. He has already sent me the next section to HTMLize and add to the DSC.

Unfortunately, the DSC has moved away from being an efficient training and reference manual. Actually, it was never a good training and reference manual. In response to this, Kaiann and I are going to be working to develop a manual that is specific for training. An Initiate Holocron, per se.

Further, as part of Project Rebirth we are going to build into the website (sorry CG/Jam3z) a help/reference system that will allow for easy access to information such as rules, descriptions, and guidelines.

This will give us leave to continue the DSC in the direction it is going. It will be a manual for mature members with more history, background information and characterization than the other manuals. I think it will add a lot of depth to the DB to have this.

Anyway -- just thought you'd all like to know.

As I'm sure most of you know by now, I own the domain www.darkbrotherhood.org. The EHDB formerly used the domain and I bought it for a nice price when they neglected it. Hey -- can you blame me?

Anyway -- I just wanted to say that although I did enjoy changing the domain, I didn't intend to do so for some time. I have always had a lot of respect for Rapier and when Ast played god again, though, I had to move it. So now the EHDB is now officially the ehdb...per their domain :)

So, darkbrotherhood.org now belongs to us. Yippie! :)

I have changed the message boards a bit. Now the Spammers have their own section on which to spam at fanatically. This should keep the regular boards clear for real discussion.

Believe me guys...I will reduce post counts to nothing if you spam the regular boards to death. I don't mind the occasional back and forth, but spaming those boards just to spam isn't allowed.

Further -- in an effort to get some people posting in the run-ons I will be awarding medals for those that participate. From now on, if you post more than twice in a run-on (in the fiction board) you will get a low-level crescent for participation. The three highest posters will get higher crescents. The only conditions to this are A: the run-on must be longer than 50 posts and B: the story must be finished.

So go out, post, have fun and earn some medals.

This week I have collected a lot of outstanding work on the GJW. Let me tell you -- I am excited. This Vendetta is going to be a lot more in depth and thrilling than the previous ones. We've been putting careful thought into everything, and have come up with some truly enjoyable formats.

I will be working with the rest of the DC to organize what I have, and then redistribute jobs to finish it up. Sometime next month, we head to war.

I'd like to personally extend a great big "Welcome!" to our newest Allies, the Force Elite Soldiers. I thank them for their willingness to work with us in building a better online gaming community. I am confident that this will bring great things.

I'd also like to thank Mav for his hard work in this. As always, he has done and excellent job. For this, I am awarding him a Grand Cross of the Dark Side.

As a side note -- we better win this poll!

The RPG Testing is going well, so I hear. Mav and Kaiann are working hard to get everything set for the eventual release. I'd like to thank everyone who is helping out. It's a great tribute to the DB's members.

We already found a few things we can fix with the number, which is good. We're going to get the details ironed out before they turn into problems.

Mav and Kaiann will be able to say more in their reports.

CG and Jam3z have been hard at work again this week. They have added some security, worked through some search functions and worked on the jedi roll. ALong those lines, I have been working on the revised site map. I am making revisions to the site sections and writing out requirements for each page's functionality. This will be imperative to getting things done right.

Things are going well, and I'm glad we are picking up some momentum with this. Definately excited.

Powers: Though I'm more than certain it has been suggested previously, I think to have the Powers split into broad rankings (Initiate, Journeyman, etc.) would make more sense if you were limited to a certain number of powers, per rank, from the list(s) your rank allowed access to.

For example, let's say Apprentices would be allowed to choose 1 power from the Initiate list, and every rank thereafter gives you access to an additional Force Power. These could then be set on ACC Character sheets in the same fashion as, say, Hand to Hand Ability, with a 1-5 scale of proficiency. This would allow for each member to customize their character, have aspects of an RPG without all the mess and arguing of dice rolls a PnP system would bring forth.

Also, Force powers, Order-specifc and otherwise, could be used as sorts of "awards." Maybe a Krath member does a write-up of the history of the Sith House of his clan. The Krath member could be awarded access to a Sith-specific power (i.e. trained in the secret art of

).

Anayway, there are my general ideas for the Force Powers.

Actually, you are almost right on with where we are headed.

The amount of powers you will be able to use is something that the RPG group is actually working on now.

Clan Powers will be given as awards. Order powers will be a bit different.

Good thinking.
