Sith High Warrior Report

Sith Battle Compendium Released

I'd like to formally announce the release of the Sith Battle Compendium. With the release of the Battle Compendium I will be looking to find new mission designers to help in future Monthly Tours of Duty for the Sith Order, along with stocking it with battles from existing members.

I will be working with Mav in the near future to give it a more fitting layout to take it away from the impression of the Sith being fighter-jockies, so expect to see such a change sometime soon. In the meantime if anyone with any battle creation skills, or anyone willing to learn could please contact me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] I'd most appreciate it.

My thanks go out to the Seneschal and his team, along with my predecessor High Warrior Predator and a number of other aides in helping get the site off the ground. Your work is most appreciated :)

Sith Website Transfer Update

Due to the database downtime I'm afraid I havn't been able to give this as much time as I had liked this week, however I have sorted out a deal with the Deputy Grand Master, so my thanks to Jac there, that will get us access and enough storage space on the new server. Therefore you can expect to see the Sith site up at http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/sith as soon as the files get transfered from the Lord Chamberlain directory to our own, so keep your eye on that address and expect a news pos from me sometime in the next few days.

Order History and Sith: CORE Update

I've spent the weekend writing out the history of our Order, tracing back the events all the way to the first Sith, Sepentis, the Third Apprentice of Lord Darth. I will need to touch up the document a little, but for the most part consider our history written and tied in with the new events of Lord Darth and the Star Chamber.

This pushes us forward in our effort to update the Sith: CORE exam, giving EC Malik Sadow a lot more substance to work with. He'll be working on that some more this week, so expect to see the rewrite of the CORE course completed sometime in the next fortnight.

Once the website move is completed I'll be having the history uploaded to the site in its current form, feedback is most appreciated, as it is only a first draft and will need to be rewritten to sort out any errors that may exist.

Crest of the Strategist

After discussing it with the rest of the Dark Council I believe, though the Chancellor has the right to shoot me if I'm wrong, that we've come to an agreement on reforming the award into the following:

Crest of the Strategist (CS)

Description:The Crest of the Strategist is a large ornate shield engraved with the victories of the recipient. Recipients of the Crest have shown great prowless in battle, having ventured alone where others have never gone before.

Awarded for: Submissions of modifications to pre-existing Dark Brotherhood game platforms, such as new levels, missions, skins and patches.

Crest of the Strategist (CS) awarded for beta testing, single missions, skins and other minor modifications.

Golden Crest of the Strategist (GCS) awarded for complete battles, first person levels, and other major submissions.

Golden Crest of the Strategist with Crossed Swords (GCS-CS) awarded for exceptional submissions and game modifications.

Awarded by: Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master, Chancellor, Order Leaders

In essence the Crest has been updated to reward quality over quantity. This has been reflected in the upgrades which are progressively more valuable, rather than graded in the regular gold/silver/bronze standard. Providing the Chancellor is happy with the changes, I'll finally be awarding Crests for all battle submissions in recent months- including those made to the last Sith War.

Other Projects

Minor development has continued on the Sith Headquarters, though with my devotion to the Sith History this weekend I've not had much of a chance to properly sort out the headquarters, I hope to be able to get our headquarters finalised sometime during the next week. Unfortunately work on Fighter and Freighter Gains has been put temporarily on hold until the results of Capital Gains are released, though do expect to see these competitions soon after the more pressing projects are completed.

Database looks good. :)

So if a designer has a single mission or Battle all we need to do is submit it using the form and it will go to all the staff? Also for recognition of the design activity we should email our Clan/House leaders seperately I assume? :)

One more thing if I can :P :)

On the submission form could we have a text box for "Description" or "Details" incase the designer wants to bring to attention any details about their submission?

Currently, as far as I'm aware, when you submit a battle it emails myself, CyberGuy and JaM3z... that really is the only area that is a little limited at the moment.

In respect of what physically happens to the battle, I've not had much of a chance to fully test things myself, Gord has done most of the testing so hopefully he'll post a more detailed response, but presumably it either emails me the submission through mail and I then pass it on, or it sticks on the database where I can then inform the beta testers and whoever that it needs dealing with.

And I'll bug the relevant parties about the details/comments field for the submissions :P

Oh... I forgot. About reward, since the Crest, at least providing it ends up being entered into the DSC and database exactly as I outlined, can only be awarded by Order Leaders or above that will mean that I'll award the Crests myself, based on the quality of the submission as reported back to me by whomever happens to beta test it.

Retroactive awards, I'll need to clear this with the Chancellor, but I might agree to work with the person who submits to decide what to give them. If, for example, a big time mission designer comes along and submits a few battles from their past (I myself am able to submit about 15 missions) then I may well consider them collectively to give a larger award, such as a Crest with Crossed Swords, rather than lots of lower level Crests... I'll need to talk to the Chancellor about that though.
