HLK News #12 - January 31st, 2004

I've got a lot of stuff to talk about this week.

1. Music Competition
   

Today is the LAST day to complete the "Manesh's Bad Taste" competition. I've had two sumissions, and it'd be nice to have a third to round things out. Remember, you only need one or two of the 11 clues figured out, and you'll probably place. You have until MIDNIGHT to get a submission in. Midnight EST.

1. Tiger's New Competition
   

Since my competition ends tonight, SO Jeff "Tiger" Loruss will be running a competition throughout February. I'm sure he'll want to tell you about it, but I know I'll be participating in it. This will be moved to #1 in the reports next week. The details are here:

1. New Members
   

We have two new members:

SWM Kell Wraith comes from House Marka Ragnos. He's been pretty active in the past, so I hope he'll prove to be active here. He's already worked to get initiates to join our house.

There was an APP Bio Madine, but apparently he wanted to transfer to Taldyran to be with a friend. Damn personal loyalties :P

I'm currently talking to another veteran who might join our house soon.

1. Medals
   

SO Manesh Sadow was awarded a CLUSTER OF FIRE for participation in the ICTE.

SO Jeff Loruss was awarded 4 CLUSTERS OF FIRE for participation in the ICTE. (!!!)

1. Shadow Academy
   

SW Grey Hawk passed the IRC BASICS course.

1. HLK Web Site
   

When I first created the fiction section of the HLK web page, I took the links directly from SCithe's old HLK page. But his web site is down, so I'm trying to rethink what I'll put in that section.

1. Allegiance
   

In the last week, there's been discussion about using Allegiance as a possible new platform for the Sith order. Allegiance is completely free, which gives it a certain advantage over Freelancer (although there is a guild for Freelancer players). You can download it at:

I've already played the first two training missions. The interface is pretty nice, but I'm wondering if there's a Star Wars mod for the game. Apparently they'll start playing this game within the next few weeks.

1. Conclusion
   

This were a bit busier this week. I got a whole bunch of emails towards the end of the week, and I like getting emails. It helps pass the time at work.

Don't forget the Music competition ends tonight. Sometimes I wonder if I'm forgetting anything.
