Further Details from the Emissary

Again, Dark Greetings Everyone, I'd first like to thank everyone for their responses so far. I have recieved a good number of interesting questions and concerns. I will try to address some of those concerns as I outline my duties in further news posts. Hopefully today's post will clear up some things.

Duty 1: To be a focal point for maintaining Clan activity.

Many of you have asked why the duties of maintaining clan activity are being delegated to the EMS, instead of making the traditional holders do their job better. Well, let me pose it this way: Who, before EMS, was charged with keeping activity up in Clan Leadership? The GM? the DGM? The Order Leaders? It was never really clear. In all truth, Consuls had 10 different bosses (and those Office Space lovers know what I'm talking about....TPS reports and all). Most would argue that the duty primarily fell to the DGM, but all DC members still had a hand in it. The job of the DGM has become increasinly overburdened these days, however. Not only is the DGM charged with helping in daily affairs, but she has to approve competitions, work on side projects, and create working Vendettas for the Brotherhood. Given that Vendettas are becoming increasingly more complicated, that is almost a full-time job.

As Emissary, I will be drawing from a lot of the duties that were strewn about ten different people. The overal focus of my job is to increase/maintain clan activity levels. I will be doing this through a variety of ways, most outlined in my other specific duties.

An active Emissary is precisely what the Brotherhood needs to level out the Dark Council, and create an atmosphere in the clans that is conducive to improvement.

And later, I will divulge into more details of my other duties.

Truly,
His Eminence, Lord Jac Ae-Sequiera Cotelin
Emissary to the Clans
Grand Master Emeritus, Fleet Admiral

In simple words, you are making the DGM's job easier. That isn't a bad thing. Will you actually be able to get someone removed who does not do his job right?

In simple words you are right.

As for getting someone removed, I can and will make reccomendations on promotions, disciplinary actions, and removals. The final decision on any such removals will still rest with FireFox.

Request: If I ever become less than what I am capable of willing to do, remove me. Don't be nice. Don't do a special favor because of some former service. Don't be lenient. On the other hand, if I don't know how to be a leader, teach me. But if it is a position serious enough remove me, then do it, because someone more competent should have such a serious job. And 3 warnings? Give me a break. The amount of time it takes for that to happen could mean the alienation, inactivity, or loss of members from the Brotherhood. Why destroy something if you could make it better with an authoritative, decisive action and prevent a disaster before it happens.

Poor conduct? Distasteful behavior? Unless you like mutinies, this is extremely sobering and serious. To let it continue is an example to all that it's ok. Warnings? Yeah, right.

If situations like these ever occur, (and are occurring?), I hope you will be more than "advising." Such things require demanding, decisive change.
