The Great Jedi War

Or not so great, dependent on how you look at it. Anyway. Some news on this.

As you should all be aware, the final deadline for all submissions is 31st March. Don't be late, I will delete late submissions if only because it saves me time in marking them. :P

The Wargame will not be making a re-appearance. I had hoped just to postpone it, but the simple fact of the matter is that I think the entire DB would really appreciate this competition being OVER and done with. I know I sure as heck would. :P

Obelisk submissions should be sent to me, and rather worringly, I'll have to mark them since a certain someone has been removed. Fear.

The War results will be released regardless of HCI verdict, just so you don't all worry about that. I don't walk out on my responsibilities.

Mai, I gotta say that I had alot of fun in this war dispite what others have said. I personaly think that you and who ever else had a hand in creating this competition did the best they could in the amount of time that they were alotted. But for some unknown reason, a select few didnt like it and instead of leaving it be and letting others enjoy it they opened their mouths and ruined it for everyone. Anyway, since I cant award you a medal or give you a promotion, a cookie will have to suffice ;-)

GAH, Ive learned a valuable lesson. Never refresh the page when looking at your freshly posted comment >:-P

I also think you did a wonderful job with planning and putting together this event. The wargame did need some work but I'm sure you can find lots of people more than willing to help with that the next time around. If there is a next time. I'm hoping that there will be :) I wish I could give you an award, you've done so much in such a short amount of time. Let's hope no one overlooks all your efforts. ::throws kudos:: :)

99% of the ARE teenage hormone bombs. :P I should hope anyway, judging by the way everyone has been acting lately...

Ignore that, I commented on the wrong post. :P

Mai, you did a great job. I'm glad to say I helped plan this competition, regardless of how contorted it ended up becoming.

It shows a lot of character for you to complete this regardless of the outcome of your trial. I hope this reflects in how the trial proceedings have gone.

 ~ Mage

Thx for telling us, Mai. Takes away some of the worries.

Mage, of course it doesn't reflect the trial result.

HCI + Innocent Person = Automatically Guilty Whatever the Hell You Say

I've already been told what they have decided, and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest (except that they were clearly too cowardly to kick me out).

However, many of you will have noticed that I have been slowly becoming less and less available for the EH anyway. This is due to a large number of RL factors, that even had the HCI been able to determine the truth with any vague accuracy whatsoever, then the likelihood is that I would have been leaving. I currently don't see anything in this organisation to change my mind.

I will not work my way back, as I have done in the past, from a "punishment" for a "crime" that I did not commit, despite what the HCI claims. I will not accept their dirty "justice".

For those interested in keeping in touch with me after I'm gone (since after the War is finished up, I'll be deleting all my email addresses, etc), then I'd recommend sending me an email now. I will mail you from my personal account and keep in touch that way.

The War will be completed, despite the HCI. I know how much work you have all put into this competition, despite its numerous flaws, and for that you all have my utmost thanks, appreciation, and respect. I will not desecrate the faith you put in me by failing in my duty to you all.

Mai, it's comments like "they were to cowardly to kick me out" that end up getting you in trouble. They might have listened to you and believed your "story" (in quotes because it may very well have been the truth) if you didn't go around insulting the HCI and the entire EH system in your plea. You are sabatoging yourself.
Either way, you did a great job as DGM and ran a great GJW. Your career was something. I wish you the best of luck in whatever life has next for you.

Mai:
First of all, it's been great to know you for these past few years...soon to be two years. I'd like to keep in touch. Don't worry, I'll email you too.
Second of all, we all know how the HCI works. And tell you the truth I've been debating on whether to quit the club for good, ask Sharad. This has put one of the final nails into the coffin. When a club is so hell bent on backstabbing and its members keep insulting one another, it stops being fun. It is time to say goodbye.
In the past two years the DB has slowly decayed and it no longer holds any charm for me. I wish all of those who remain good luck, and good fortune. May you help restore the DB to its previous state. To Mai, more power to you and may your Real Life prosper from your decision.
Your friend always,
Anga Salinas aka Jennifer

Mairin, in my time in the DB, about 3 years now, I don't recall seeing a more active DGM. You created and implemented a GJW, you provided us with the chance to do what we SHOULD be doing. I found the GJW a great event for bringing the House together, you should be truly proud of EVERYTHING you have done for this organisation.

Comments like the one above are absolutely ridiculous. From a Krath point of view, this was a standard competition. It was not difficult, I did not need my CON or PCON (God rest their souls j/k!) to tell me what to do? The truth is people will never be happy, but I, like Anga above, am one of the people who IS happy with all you've done.

Thank you.

James

In all honesty, what I saw of the GJW was quite a hodge podge, with few people having any clue what was going on or what needed to be done. Summits rarely were kept informed of what the next step was, or how it should be carried out. While I'm sure a great deal of planning went into the overall concept, the outcome and implementation left much to be desired. Sorry, but I've seen much better DB-wide events held during my time here and this one didn't quite measure up to par.

Lastly, Mai you should be ashamed of yourself regarding your conduct and attitude towards the EH and the HCI in this matter. Your initial response to the HCI clearly showed your lack of respect and contempt for those that hold some of the most difficult positions in the EH. And the way you're carrying on still shows that just maybe you aren't quite the leader that is needed afterall. I hope you learn some humility if you stay in the EH.
