House Marka Ragnos Aedile Report III

House News: We heard from Korras earlier in the week, and it seemed as if he's enjoying his time off. Good bloody thing he ducked out, otherwise he might have been hit with the bad Quaestor Malaise that's been going around. More on that under Clan News.

Clan News: We have had a flurry of resignations this week. Manesh Sadow resigned as Quaestor of House Ludo Kressh [Sith], and Robert Daragon (Bob) resigned as Quaestor of House Primus Goluud [Obelisk]. So as of right now, the only house that has an active summit is Marka Ragnos. Go me.

Karimicus Sukkarius [Sith] also handed in a public resignation. It's quite sad to see so many good people leaving the DB, and our clan, but we still wish them all the best of luck.

Tissaya and Malik have opened up the position of Quaestor and Aedile (I think AED too, anyway) for House Ludo Kressh to applications. If you feel qualified enough, if you are bold enough, if you think you're ready for that kind of responsibility, please send applications to them.

There is some talk of House Primus Goluud closing and merging under the banner of a multi-order House Ludo Kressh. It's all conjecture right now until a solid decision has been made, but I'm going to put in my two cents. Multi-order houses aren't the devil everyone makes them out to be. I understand that the closing of a house is traumatic, and the sense of solidarity may wreck the experience for you. But think about it. You are still Obelisk, or still Sith, or still Krath. That part hasn't changed. Only the house. Personally, I feel more beholden to Tissaya, Korras, Beowulf, Manji, Manesh, and Kieran than I do to House. It's all about people for me. What house banner we each fight under, it doesn't matter, so long as we are Sons and Daughters of Sadow.

Having said that, I also want to say that Naga Sadow's heritage in the Brotherhood has been the Underdog. We place lower in the large competitions. We do this because of inactivity. We do this because we don't suck up to the powers that be. We prefer to take our victories with our skill with pen, sabre, or pilot's yoke. The medals are sweeter when they are earned rather than given. It is not, contrary to some, due to lack of skill.

I know that we have talented folk in all of our houses. I saw the scores submitted. We had an obelisk complete his missions without any force usage, and using only his sabre. How he didn't win, I have no clue. Our Run-on submission (Phase 1) should rightfully have taken first, as I have read the other clan's. And I have heard our sith complain about how easy the flight missions were.

So, we have the skill. All we need is the motivation. We need to flood the events with our work to the point where the judges can not justify their bias toward their own students and lackeys. Make them sit back and realize the uproar there would be if it turned out against our obviously superior submissions. All we have to do is get out there and do it.

Obligatory stuff:

Medals: GRD Storm Paladin Entar won two Clusters of Fire for his vistories at Celestial Fury. You may not know this, but Celestial Fury is an inter CLUB competition. So if you participate, you'll find yourself fighting foreign (Non-Brotherhood) opponents. And your victories in this event help make the whole DB look good. So another round of congratulations go to Storm for making us all look like pimps.

Promotions: Silver Raven was promoted to Acolyte. Congratulations, Silver Raven. Can we see another one in the near future?

Shadow Academy: Silver Raven passed the Test of Wisdom. Rock on.

Deaths: None.

New Competitions: I'm working on getting Breathe Life II approved (mutters about nitpicking judges), and that will run until the end of September. Everyone needs to give that one a try. It should be up in a few days.

Summary:

We have Some really active members right now, and a slew of sleepers. Some of you haven't done a whole lot of anything lately. Maybe you are a high ranking guy who doesn't feel like doing anything unless it has a really nice medal as a reward. Maybe you are tired of trying to earn your sabre, and have resigned yourself to using the DB as a chat-room. Maybe you don't think you can win a competition. It doesn't matter. They are all lame excuses for laziness. With turnout at an incredibly low rate, any sort of submission lately has been winning comps. And that sucks. So I want everyone to do SOMETHING at least once a week. Comps, run-on, ACC, anything. Email it to me and your TET, so we know about it.

Remember, When Rebirth arrives, every little dinky medal you have will increase how many credits you get as allowance.

The Beatings shall continue until Morale Improves!

KP Muz Ashen (Krath)/AED/Marka Ragnos of Naga Sadow
