The Sky is Falling!

Praetor to the Headmaster Chosen

I have chosen a new Slave...I mean...Praetor. Congratulations to Krath Epis Kaiann who fills the position.

Several qualified people applied, including two of my extremely vital EPs for Phase 2. It wasn't my goal to remove reliable personnel from jobs they already excel at - which is why I didn't accept their applications - even though they are more than qualified.

Any and all people that did apply received a rather extensive e-mail highlighting what I thought was very good in the application, and what I thought wasn't exactly qualified. A lot of people had some very good things to say about themselves, and overall, I was impressed with the quality of the applications.

Applications in General:
Denial of the position in NO way means that you are worthless or unqualified. It doesn't mean I hate you, and it doesn't mean that I only appoint people that are my friends. I am generally very objective when it comes to not only appointments but anything that's "semi-professional" in the DB. Generally, if you show enough initiative before applications are even opened - or the position is even vacated, you will always have a better chance at getting a position when it does open up. Truthfully, it's my belief that if you show enough energy and are outgoing enough with your ideas that applications can sometimes be a formality that waste time. "We all know who the obvious replacement is - look at what he/she's already overtly done which makes him/her qualified A) B) C), etc..." The position of P:HM was not the case. Though Kaiann showed initiative, so did others to equal extents - some didn't apply for P:HM, some did, and some were already vital links to the SA staff. You might call it "arbitrary DC-ness," but I truly felt Kaiann proved himself the best in applying for P:HM.

This even relates to some of the DC appointments as of late. Believe me, the decisions were not arbitrary and out of pure friendship as some would love to think, spread rumors, or convince themselves of illusion versus reality. Then again, I'm just another tool spreading propaganda? :P Anywho, a lot of deliberation and time was put into the decisions. There was, however, NOT enough time to process applications for each and every DC position without moving along at a reasonable pace.

Read the title of this news post and got all excited hoping for a mind-blowing post equal to that of the Queens of the Stone Age song.

Unfortunately not quite up to par :P

Congratulations Kaiann!
