Quaestor Report

The sound of metal-clad heels echoes across the flight deck as SW Lasitter approaches the lecturn. DJK Remlinger calls the two BTLs to attention, and both groups snap upright as one body. Pride, discipline, and power can be seen on the face of every pilot, and every trooper, present.

"Greetings, House Ziost. Today, we see a return to the old, while embracing the new. There are traditions within this House that date back to before the Split, traditions that many of us wish to see revived. In this week's report, we will go through these traditions..."

The First Tradition--PRIDE

Members of House Ziost have a long tradition of being the guardians of the Empire, and of the Brotherhood. We are not the slinking, skulking spies of Byss, who seek to further their desires by assassination and information-dealing. We show our power and supremacy on the battlefields of this Galaxy, whether on land, in space, or through our mastery of the Force.

We can stand tall and say that it was HOUSE ZIOST who defended the leaders of the Empire in the days of old, and it was HOUSE ZIOST that flew out of the decrepid stench that was created by Grand Admiral Ronin, flanking the great Grand Masters as we bored a hole through the elite TIE Corps puppets.

We can stand tall and say that it was HOUSE ZIOST who survived dissention, hatred, and treason to become what it is today...a PROUD House full of outstanding warriors!

It is the Obelisk troopers of the former HOUSE KORRIBAN that slew those of the Dark Brotherhood who chose to stay with Ronin, and showed their true strength by overcoming the odds to be instrumental in the creation of Clan Exar Kun, the greatest Clan of the Dark Brotherhood...

The Second Tradition--LOYALTY

HOUSE ZIOST has stood beside the CONSUL of Clan Exar Kun, and served his will, since the split. The Sith and Obelisk of our House are well-known for their loyalty to unit, House, Clan, and Brotherhood. This Tradition is also rooted in the days before the Split, when the Sith and Obelisk of Clan Alvaak were chosen from amongst the Brotherhood Clans for their superior skill and devout LOYALTY to the Brotherhood. True members of HOUSE ZIOST are known for these qualities, and those that lack the inner strength are quickly dispatched to lesser Clans...

The Third Tradition-- STRENGTH

There was once a squadron of Sith pilots so feared, so powerful, so deadly that the very mention of their name would send a shudder of fear through the enemies of the Empire. That squadron was known as BLACK OMEGA. The pilots of Black Omega were chosen from amongst the most aggressive pilots in the Empire, and their ability to link via the Dark Side during battle made them virtually unstoppable.

After the Split, Black Omega dissolved as the pilots retired, moved on, or simply vanished. There are, however, 5 members of BLACK OMEGA still residing in HOUSE ZIOST...Erryc Lasitter (former Black Omega CMDR), Drax Remlinger (former Black Omega CMDR), Bartleby Loki (former Black Omega flight member), Parker (former Black Omega flight member), and soon-to-be Drake Jensen (former Black Omega Flight Leader).

The strength of Black Omega is still embodied in HOUSE ZIOST. It exists in the heart of every Knight, every Hunter, every APPRENTICE who has joined our House. The spark of Strength is there, it just needs to be awakened...

Conclusion

What does this all mean? Why do I bring this up now? Well, after discussions with Master Khan, and my trusted friends Master Jonaleth and my apprentice, Vithril, as well as my most active members within the House, I have decided that HOUSE ZIOST needs to return to those Traditions that kept us going through the dark times of the EH, the difficult times of the Split, and the heretical times of the recent failed mutiny. You see, HOUSE ZIOST has perservered, and that shows that our Traditions, even though they may have some tarnish on them, only need but a bit of spit and polish, and we can resume our place as the ELITE OF THE DARK BROTHERHOOD!!!

Therefore, the following will take place imminently:

(1) The new AEDILE will be appointed by this Sunday. I have made my choice, so please do not send in any more applications.

(2) Any member that has not shown any contact or activity in the past 4 weeks will be removed from the roster. 8 are now in the process of being removed by the Consul, and more are on the list. If you are inactive but in contact with me, you are SAFE from the AWOL.

(3) After the garden is weeded, the two Battle Teams will be RESTRUCTURED. The Obelisk will comprise one Battle Team, the Sith another, and they will be RENAMED. This is to keep with the Traditions. The current Battle Team leaders will keep their positions, for now. Both are doing an excellent job, and I see no reason to remove them.

(4) All members under the rank of Dark Jedi Knight will receive a MENTOR. The Mentor will be responsible for offering guidance to the newer members, and helping them accomplish the tasks that will earn them their lightsaber. Mentors will be able to have up to two Students. You may make a request for a particular Master, but ultimately the QUA and AED will decide who is paired with who...

(5) All House members will report to their Battle Team Leader (BTL) what Star Wars gaming platforms they currently own and can use to compete. As you know, the Obelisk generally use FPS games, such as Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Sith generally use flight-based games, such as Allegiance, X-Wing Alliance, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, and Jump To Lightspeed. If you do not currently own any of these games, we will have to discuss ways for you to participate, such as via fiction, the ACC, or other means.

(6) Participation in House Competition will be paramount to your advancement. Simply idling and chatting your life away on mIRC will NOT count. There will be a platform-based and an open Competition each month...currently, we are running a Battlefront competition, and a Trivia Competition. Everyone has the ability to participate in the Trivia Competition, so NOT doing so will severely impact your participation level for the months that we run them... For those of you who like to write, we currently have a RUN-ON started on the message board...

That's the first wave of changes....I am proud of you all that are stepping up activity, and glad to see that you have all welcomed our new members heartily into our ranks =)

Until next time....

SW Erryc Lasitter
