Short report this week.

Well, I just got back from the thanksgiving break. I had a good time. Did
dinner at the fiancée's place for Thursday and then hung out with my fam the
next few days. We did a lot of helping my parents with projects around the
house. Cleaned out the attic and crap. Wasn't bad though. Gave me time away
from law school. Watched the Manchurian Candidate Last night. That movie was
messed up.

Unfortunately, the end of thanksgiving marks the beginning of what I like to
call "Law School Hell." Exams. I have 5 more days of classes and then 16
days of studying and exam taking. I have four exams. They are on the 6th,
the 10th, the 12th, and the 18th. Four hours a piece, covering sixteen weeks
of law and about 300 pages and 90 cases per class. Basically, take your
college exams and multiply them by one hundred. That's what I have to hit
up.

I am going to try and be as normal as possible during that time. Of course,
how possible that is, I don't know. However, as always, if you need
something, just go to Mav.

In other news, 3 of my good friends got engaged this past week, and all
three of them are planning their wedding ahead of mine. Bastards. Now I just
have to upstage them.

Haven't had much go on since I've been at home. However, there's one subject
I'd like to talk about.

Assuming. You know what it means to ASSUME, right? It makes an ASS out of U.
(not ME).

The reason I bring this up is because a lot of people fail to give me the
benefit of the doubt in what I do and then proceed to get pissed off because
they assumed the wrong thing. Now there are good people like Yacko, BF and
Pyralis who tell me how it is when they think something is going down,
giving me a chance to clarify it to them in private, but then there are some
people who literally go on pissed off rampages when they assume the wrong
thing.

Let me take, for instance, the position of Lord Hegemon. A lot of you read
into the position description a lot of crap that simply wasn't there. The DB
is going all RPG. We're no longer a gaming club. Kaiann has more authority
than anyone but Jac. Rebirth is all about making us Roleplay. Blah Blah Blah

ERRR. Sorry. Wrong answer.

You guys need to give me the benefit of the doubt that I am not going to
change the very foundation of this club in the blink of an eye. The DB was
founded on gaming, has always worked off gaming, and gaming and competitions
will ALWAYS (I repeat: ALWAYS) be our primary focus. Kaiann is adding
elements of RPG to the DB to help develop characters, and then developing a
system for people who want to to role-play on the side as another activity.
It is nothing that is taking over the DB so gamers aren't welcome. It is
something to coincide and add to the plethora of activities we do now.

The point is: just don't assume that we're going to destroy your club. I
understand the foundation of this club very well and will always protect
that. I sometimes may not qualify statements enough so you guys can't assume
anything at all, but you all need to work on trusting me a bit more. Give me
the benefit of the doubt that I know what I'm doing.

In the meantime, I will do my part to be more clear about where we are
headed. Deal?

Deal.

Thanksgiving paused the end of all of this. Just a recap of what needs to be
done (with some things I just thought of):

- Kaiann needs to send me the judge list so we can reward them

- The GJW website needs to be converted into an archival state (just the
story and results etc.). If you are interested in doing this, email me. Star
of Antei for doing it. :)

- Mav needs to finish the GJW ship stuff and add the new prizes to the OOB.

- All of the submissions need to be downloaded an zipped for archives and
then the database needs to be deleted. I'll get my staff on this.

Just random crap to do

Nothing new do to thanksgiving. From last week:

The DC has been going through the Clan and Order powers documents that I
sent. Overall they were well received. I think it will add a great new
element to the DB and the members will like it.

Where are we with it? Well, I am having my magistrate, Pyralis, make some
changes to reflect the comments from the DC. Once that happens, I will
send it to the DC for a quick one-day review and out to the Consuls after
that. I am aiming to have the details of the system public within the next
 2 weeks.
