Taldryan Consul Report 12-12-04 Report # 83

Well its time for the very-very-very late CON report! I apologize for the tardiness of this report, but as I mentioned before this week was my exam week at school, which kept me a bit busy. Im all finished now though, and Im back at home (and this time the internet at home is working!), so I can get back in the swing of things. Activity is doing that holiday-season lull thing, so if you can participate in stuff please do, but if you cannot I understand because Im quite busy too (as in, I havent even started Christmas shopping yet)! So here we go.

Clan Taldryan News

-Taldryan Website Madness! ended last week and awards were sent out, congratulations to everyone who participated!

-I am currently running a Clan competition to help me name the 4 ships we got for the GJW. All you have to do is send in any ship name ideas you have to me ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) with the subject line Clan Competition. You can send in as many names as you like, and the ones I like the most will became the ships names and their authors will be rewarded. Here is what we got:

1 Modified Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser / Assault Frigate (A/FRG)

1 Corellian Engineering Corporation Gunship (GSP)

2 Vibre-Class Assault Cruisers (VAC)

This ends on December 31st, so keep sending in names! Remember to include your ID-line with your submissions.

-I just submitted another Clan competition so you all would have stuff to do, entitled Kirs Christmas Here is the description: Consul Kir Taldrya Katarn always manages to have a interesting Christmas. Sometimes he ends up drunk and naked at the Clan Christmas party, other times he ends up drunk in the cockpit of a TIE fighter buzzing the Dinaari HQ, other times he ends up drunk andwell you get the point. For this competition you need to write a story about what situation Kir gets into this holiday season.

There is no length requirement for this story. It can be a paragraph but no longer than 2 pages. The objective here is to be funny, so the most humorous stories will win! Send all your submissions to [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and all submissions are due by December 31st, good luck!

-With the change of the Legion of the Scholar (LSS) medal so that it can be given out for Clan Trivia, I will start running Clan Trivia in a couple weeks, both via my reports and IRC. This will let you all earn LSSs without having to compete with uber-geeks in #db.

-I sent out awards to some of our most active members this last week, including: Horus, Benevolent, Chaosrain, Shadow, Tiberius, Nexusmage, Jir, and Dark Sabre. These people are all consistently active, if you want to earn medals like thisparticipate in competitions consistently! Congratulations all!

-This week its time for me to announce two new Cohors Praetoria members. This is a pretty easy one, so the new members are Horus and Jir!! Congratulations!

-I am going to start working on Clan Guidelines for behavior, sort of a short guide on how Taldryan members are expected to behave as the dominant members of the DB both with their own clan members and members from other clans. Hopefully Ill have it completed after Christmas.

-Just a quick reminder of currently running competitions and their deadlines: Dark Jedi Christmas Wishes (Dec 17), Character Development (Dec 19), December Monthly Topics (Dec 31), Name that ship! (Dec 31), Kirs Christmas! (Dec 31), Hit Lists (Feb 1), Dark Betrayal (Open). All of these are open to all Taldryan members except Hit Lists, which is for Dinaari members only. And also dont forget the weekly multiplayer competitions!

-Remember you can find all of the currently running competitions with descriptions, both multiplayer and other, on the Taldryan website in the Competitions section (http://www.taldryan.org/competitions.php) Ive just updated it, so everything should be in there!

DB News

-The GM sent out a report that was full of useful information, so I would suggest you give it a read (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/comments.asp?ID=R:6628). It includes the links to the Clan and Order Special Force Powers that everyone will eventually be able to earn. I would recommend you take a look at it to see what you need to start working on!

-Deputy Grand Master (and former Taldryan member and Consul) Mav was promoted to Dark Jedi Master, congratulations to him!

Multiplayer Competitions-

Tuesday 1v1 Night

Multiplayer gaming night that will be held all day Tuesday in #gmrg. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Tuesdays are "solo" nights; meaning only 1 vs. 1 games will be played. Signup bots will not be used; you have to find matches by chatting in #gmrg or messaging people on IRC. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses. In addition anyone who has 5 wins will get a Dark Cross, and anyone with 15 wins will get a Star of Antei.

Thursday Team Night

Multiplayer gaming night that will be all day Thursday in #gmrg. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Thursdays are "team" nights, meaning matches can only be played with at least teams of 2 vs. 2. Signup bots will not be used; you have to find matches by chatting in #gmrg or messaging people on IRC. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses. In addition anyone who has 5 wins will get a Dark Cross, and anyone with 15 wins will get a Star of Antei.

Interclub Training Event

Multiplayer gaming night that will be held every Saturday evening in #outerrim. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Players come from DB and allied online gaming groups. Signup bots will be used, so use the !signup command on IRC to get matches in #outerrim. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses.

Biweekly Sunday Tournament

Those people who participate in at least one match in the above listed weekly multiplayer competitions will be invited to play every other week in a Tournament on Sunday. There isnt any specific structure, you just play as many matches as you would like and the person with the most wins during the day wins the Tournament. Everyone gets points for wins that they can use to buy personal possessions, and the total of all the points Taldryan members earn the Clan also earns as a whole to buy cool Clan stuff!
