[ State of the Order> First off, I apologize for having been somewhat absent for the last couple of weeks. However, finals are finally over, and I have no school until January 5th. Yay. I get to relax a bit, enjoy the holiday season, and maybe even get some more work done on the projects that I really want to get finished soon for the Order, and for the Brotherhood as a whole to benefit from.

Firstly, I'm basically trying to revamp the history of the Sith. To be honest, I'm not quite happy with what it is now, and as I've talked with Trev, and a few others, I think we'll have something much better, and much more interesting within the next three months. I want to set reasonable deadlines, so that I can have the time to be creative, but not tread on your good graces, and force you, the membership, to wait unnecessary amounts of time. I hate waiting, I'm sure you all do, too. Secondly, I want to try and increase the participation for some of the more "major" comps. As part of that, I'm going to start adding extra incentives. More on that in a minute, when I go into competition details. Thirdly, I also want to more fully develop who and what the Sith are. I want to develop their attitudes, their practices, everything relating to the fictional nature of the Sith. This also ties into the history thing. Obviously, these will be stereotypes only, but I want to come up with better stuff than, "Oh... the Sith were pilots. They might still be now. I'm not quite sure." I don't want that crap perpetuated, and I don't think you do, either.

As far as how the Sith Order is doing, I think it's doing about the same. We're still moving along, but I'd like to improve, not just maintain. As far as my plans for activities, I'd really like to focus on two games--Allegiance and Battlefront. Why am I mentioning this? Well, I'm going to be providing hints about the next Sith War as time goes on. Some hints may be subtle, others will be very blunt. This is one of those blunt hints. If you want to be successful in the next Sith War, get your Clans moving on Allegiance and Battlefront teams. If nothing else, prepare for it. I'm going to do what I can to utilize those two games, because I think they'll be of major benefit to us. Allegiance is a free download, and there shouldn't be many excuses for people not to be able to play (though there are certainly a few exceptions).

The Sith Order recognizes...> Today, I'd like to recognize the astounding work of Vail, Consul of CSP, for his amazing participation and success lately in the Sunday bi-weekly Tournaments. I'd also like to recognize Yacks, because he is a sad, despairing little man, and we all need to give him love. :P Kidding. I think Yacks is awesome. And he also has a sense of humor, which makes him far better than some sour pusses. Message of the day: laugh a little; you'll live longer.

Sith Site/Battle Compendium> Not much in the way of change, here. Yet. This is on my to do list, and I'd like to keep this for three months as a deadline, too (as possible).

Sith in Fiction> As part of one of my competitions, I really want to see people bump up the participation for Sith fiction. I released this a while back, but I think people have forgotten about it, so I'm going to give this some detail again. Your mission, should you choose to decide that it's worth it, is to create the historical Sith Lords. Yep, I want you to create the former Dark Lords of the Sith. We all remember Exar Kun, Darth Vader, even Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos. But Ragnos was said to have been the ninth Dark Lord of the Sith; who were the rest of them? The task of this Competition, which I've decided to call "The Sith Lords Reborn," is to describe the "lost" Sith Lords. Tell me who they were, what they were like. Describe what they looked like, some of their accomplishments, and even who their enemies were. If you feel so inclined, add in pictures of these lost Sith Lords. The best entries will be added into the Dark Side Compendium, and will forever be a part of the history of the Sith, and the Brotherhood.

The competition is going to be run until January 31st, at 11:59 PM EST. All submissions are due by then. The winners will receive appropriate Crescents. However, as I mentioned above, I'm going to be adding incentives. Because I want to see participation from the Clans, I'm offering 100 Tournament points to the most represented Clan in this Competition. Whichever Clan has more members submit quality pieces is going to receive the 100 point addition to their totals. In addition, whomever takes first places is going to receive 50 Tournament points added to their score. Not bad, right?

Competitions> As I just mentioned, "The Sith Lords Reborn" is in effect, ending at 11:59 PM EST on the 31st of January. In addition, we also have the regular Gaming Nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These Gaming Nights qualify you to play the bi-weekly Sunday Tournaments. Only those people who are qualified will be able to play for points. Anyone is welcome to play, but if you submit scores for points, against people who haven't been qualified, it's not going to earn you anything, except maybe an unhappy High Warrior. Also, for those not able to make it on Tuesdays or Thursdays, the ICTE is also a qualifying event for the Tournaments, so get out to one of these nights, and be ready to kick some butt when the Tournaments come up again. You only have to play one match to qualify, but just remember, it's all about fun. Play a few, enjoy yourself, and get into what the DB has to offer you.

Miscellaneous> I can think of a couple of things to add here.

I know that many families have members who are away from home this holiday season. My brother is in Iraq right now, as are a number of our DB members, and any number of troops from across the world. I don't care about your political views, I care about the people who are fighting because they believe in freedom. To anyone who is away from home during this time of year, we love you all, and we want you to come home say. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and hopefully a peaceful and Happy New Year.

Just a brief mention about the Battlefront server. I hope people still haven't forgotten that we have a Battlefront server, and that we are also running the Shadow Academy's JA server from it. Have some fun, play some games. If you feel so inclined, we can always use donations made to help pay for this. If you feel the desire to donate some money, feel free to at
PayPal. All you need to do, is send money to the email [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and it'll go towards paying for the server. Any amounts are appreciated, but most importantly, just enjoy them. They're there to be played on, and we just hope you all feel like we're getting our money's worth out of them.

Conclusion> So, in conclusion, I want to be productive. I want to be successful. In being productive and successful, I want to help make the Sith, and the entire Brotherhood, a better place to be. This is meant to be entertaining. This is meant to be a pastime, and fun, leisure activity. Don't worry so much if you're matching up to anyone else, base yourself off of how much you want to do, and how much fun you're having. We hope you'll get into lots of things, and have fun competing, but we just want you to have fun, first and foremost. There's competitions enough for everyone, and I'd love to see Clans pressing them a bit more. If nothing else, just make sure your people know there's stuff to do, even if they decide not to. Encourage them to do stuff, but encourage them to have fun, and make friends above all.

There's incentives enough for everyone to be doing stuff, and if that's not enough incentive, I'll keep throwing stuff out until you do come to take a piece of the action. I may not be able to hand out Death Stars and Star Destroyers, but maybe I can sneak a few under the table somewhere. And yes, I'm kidding. :P I'll offer you what I can, but the drive and motivation has to come from within. Come out, enjoy the Brotherhood, and add to it. We're nothing by ourselves, but we're one of the best Star Wars clubs available when we're together. Enjoy the Holiday Season, everyone.
