Report: 4 Feb 2005 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>New Additions:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>One of the perks to being Combat Master is selecting a staff that I know I can work with. Sure, there'll always be a couple that I might be like oil and water with at times, but if they do their job I have no complaints. However, two individuals have been hired that have made me extremely happy. Both members are from CSK and both are members that I can say that I have a little history with. SWL Vessicant and I have been through a few little projects together, we have also had some really fun battles. I like his ability and I enjoy the way he writes, I also am intrigued by the fact that DA Halcyon will now have another Sith among the staff. Welcome SWL Vessicant, our newest Operator!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Next is someone I can't say enough about. I like his writing, I like his 'ethics' and I like the fact that he's always been there when I needed help. He's one of those guys that is willing to take a risk, to try a new angle and I appreciate that about him. He and I have also had a few battles together, as well as just fiction competitions as a team. I'll try not to take his willingness for granted, but I'm sure he'll speak up if I'm being an ass... Please welcome KP M'Kel Kahn to the ACC Staff as Magistrate to the Combat Master!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Updates/Projects: The first week is down and the Centre has seen the following:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>- The departure of DJM Shan Long, the SHW, Gui Long (of their own accord)

  • KAP Nekura Manji Keibatsu (CNS) has joined the ranks as an Operator

  • DA Halcyon Rokir (Arcona) has accepted my offer to stay on as my Praetor

  • Pilot's Den Guide to Fighter craft is almost (if not) done

  • The ACC Vendetta Guide (re-work) has been forwarded for approval

  • The task of elevating ALL initiates by inviting them to Qualify has been assigned

  • A competition has been started to initialize the creation of a creature database

  • Dark Betrayal has been dealt with and is heading toward completion

  • The initial schematics of the Championship Ladders have been drawn

  • If you eat a Turkey and mayonnaise sandwich, in your room at night, in the dark while watching TV, you don't notice the mayo that slopped onto your shirt until you wake up the next morning

  • I got fired three times, in less than ten minutes, by the LM

  • Judge/Trainer/Operator duties are being re-vamped to facilitate better organization

  • The Compendium has begun its clarification and preparation for the removal of ambiguity

  • Initial efforts have been made to "possibly" adjust facets of the ACC to be more universal when compared to what the RPG system is doing

  • Character Sheets have begun to undergo a, much needed, face lift</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>The Vision:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Well, since I didn't do a "hi there" mail when I got hired... not much of one anyway, I will do it here. My plans for the ACC are broad. I said repeatedly that I was not going to overhaul the entire thing, but I am going to make 'some' changes. A few of you have seen some of the threads on the forums and begun to participate in some discussions - you rock for that BTW!. As I told the staff, not everything will be open for discussion, that would just be chaos - so, when anything does come, let yourself be heard. I will not 'take away' anything without reason or just because I don't like it. If it was a valuable part of the system, it will also not be removed without a viable process to take its place. One thing I don't want is for you guys to be in limbo... so changes won't "trickle". When an item or process is being added, changed or deleted - it will happen when (and only when) its new mechanisms are completed, not in little bursts. It is true that you may see a couple of large scale adaptations that just 'drop' on you, unfortunately, some things can't be done gently. In those cases, the Operators will give you mass amounts of lee-way until everyone is made aware. My vision for the centre is not only 'visual' but 'mechanical' as well. I have every intent to change the appearance of the centre to the themes that arrive with rebirth, I also have every intent to see the ACC as integral to the Brotherhood in every facet that will allow it. There is an air of autonomy that the ACC has, to me anyway, and I'd like to erase that as much as possible... one way is by appearance and another is by adapting our processes to dominant forces that exist in the Brotherhood. As I look around my list grows, starting with the Character sheets and delving into the idea of how we can use prestige, XP and credits. A project is in the works right now that may see 'items' up for grabs in specific battles, prize fights, mission oriented battles, a store where combat items can be purchased, creature familiars that can fight with you etc. I work fast, so these aren't things that I am talking about for a year from now... more like a month or two :) (maybe a bit more :P) Basically, I draw up the framework and then contract it out to the staff for refinement (well, those on the staff that want to help... which should be everyone... and maybe the reason why jobs will open up sooner than I anticipated :P). Anyway... enough of that... </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>HUGE Thanks!!!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Huge thanks go out to KAP Nekura, this week. He has single handedly made an amazing amount of headway on his journey. He was asked to sift through the entirety of the ACC roster, identify those Initiates who were assigned to the Rogues and compile a list - a lot of clicking and back buttons :) - the list is now over 100. But that wasn't all. He was also tasked with identifying Initiates who are assigned to clans, but instead of listing them, he was to "personally invite" each one to Train and/or Qualify in the ACC, thus elevating them to Seekers upon Qualifying. Whether these individuals actually do it or not does NOT fall on Manji, he has been successful with what I have asked him to do. I could conjure up an award for him, but he seems like the type who just keeps going. Due to that, I'm gonna let him stack up his good deeds and go for something special. So, for now, you have my humble thanks for a job well done! Thank you!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Finally:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Well that's about it this week, though, those of you who know me know I can just keep writing. It was a fairly decent week, we got a lot started and underway... but there's a lot more to do. Those who have been there with their opinions and input, I applaud you - those who haven't, well... bugger off :P Seriously, I know it takes time to get comfortable with a new echelon, so you'll all have your time. Save that, the queue is empty, things are getting caught up and I've heard no complaints... but I know that doesn't mean they exist :P Have a great weekend!!! </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Congrats to Vess and M'Kel!
