Report: 10 Feb 2005 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Congrats go out to CoFo and his spawn... perhaps another Dark Jedi? :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Underway</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Well, despite some little disappointments, the ACC update stuff is going along, on schedule. There are some glitches to the site that would make it bothersome to implement now, so, I will be waiting until rebirth for the majority of the items. Most are just 'adjustments' to existing material, expansions on the systems, if you will... you won't see anything completely new, yet. There are also some things I was unaware of (mind you, I'm not passing blame on anyone who should have let me know :P) that will keep me from doing a bunch that I had intended, such is life. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>For now, the compendium is being updated along with the rank structure, weapon guide, and all the junk I mentioned last week. I am not sure if we will implement any of that yet as it would seem like a bit of a hassle to do it and then have to re-do it a few months later. Although, I will discuss it with the staff when the time comes and see what the overall mood is. The new Vendetta Guide will be on it's way to the top this weekend, in which there are a good bit of things 'tightened' so to speak. It's gotten the initial okay, but still needs the GM's eyes to peruse it before it's "in stone".</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Character Sheets and Characters</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Alright, a show of hands... who's read this from me before? "It doesn't matter what you think you are [in the ACC], all that matters is what can be substantiated by your DB rank and Character Sheet" Anyone? Anyone? You cannot be an ACO and think you're going to walk into the ACC and blow Force Lightning out your butt... ain't gonna happen. Also, you cannot take SW canon information and 're-write' it without a convincing back story. Seriously, Vader WASN'T a Wookie! There's also the matter of 'created' characters. If you absolutely have to create a new species, fine... make me believe it! Even if it's a conglomeration of two SW species that never shared any timeline or couldn't have possibly gotten together to create you, you MUST make the effort to create a believable outline and history. Furthermore, just cause you say it, don't make it so. References, please. We use a fairly limited number of viable sources in the ACC to verify species, weapons (or similar weapons that could be passed off as the same, like the 'slugthrower' vs a 'shotgun') and traits of all kinds. I have instructed the staff to use no less than 3 viable sources to confirm such things. I would be stupid to believe that all of them are 100% accurate, but 3 sources that have the same info (provided they are viable and not "snuffy's house of star warz stuff') is better than you just telling me to accept it, cause those of you who know me know darn well that I ain't gonna do that :) So all I ask from you is the same courtesy. If the millions of bytes of information out there aren't enough from you, and you have to create something... do it well, do it with sources and do it with the understanding that it WILL be scrutinized. Sources are a must, even for newly created species, because you have to place their existence somewhere in the SW timeline.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Anyway, you'll only have to deal with my 'strictness' (which I like to call fictional realism :P) for a short little while. After which time, I am sure the RPG section will gladly let you have all the samurai, ninja's, 10ft winged dragons and GI Joe's you want... but in the ACC, until then... it's not going to happen. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Thanks</td> </tr> <tr> <td>I'd like to thank M'Kel, Halcyon, DS, Nekura and Vessicant for their help so far with the ACC updates. You guys are doing/have done a lot already, and it's not fluff work either, I appreciate the effort.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Finally:</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Only time will tell what the scope of the Centre will be. There are a few things (as I have mentioned) that will undoubtedly change how much the ACC is responsible for when it comes to your characters. The Forums have seen a lot of input and a lot of opinions, and I want you to know that I'm not ignoring them. I have begun to take much of it into account, well, those opinions that were backed with reason and intelligence and not just "I don't like that". I am not the first to say it, but; if you want your opinion to matter, it makes sense to offer your idea of a solution to a problem. Otherwise, it's just complaining :) Have a good weekend! </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

</td> </tr> </table>

So you now think you'll get all the stuf through in the RPG Dalthid is denying ? Well, think again. You may, through careful selection of skills and powers, be able to more or less emulate the capabilities of a samurai or ninja (although getting some of the weapons might be troublesome), but that dragon... whoops, seems my blaster misfired. Poor creature...

LOL

Woah, Kaiann was funny? Go figure.... : D, Nice one, that actually made the whole class look at me when i read it.
