Okay, lemme answer some stuff all at once, right here: The ACC doesn't use dice; 'Near-Human' is not a species; the ACC is about 'combat writing' not non-combat writing (too long to explain :P); if your CS gets declined, don't take it personally (hell, I should leave that one up here); Clan Powers still can't be used in the ACC, as general guidance (see Did you know?); If you want to mail me and try to start some sh*t, please don't cry wolf when I give it right back to you :P; dark warriors below the rank of DJM still can't use Force Lightning; every planet/location listed in the venue guide has an "Arena 1", please be more specific or your battle may be declined or the location not what you wanted; yes, I am looking for an apprentice; Cortosis, Echani and Custom Species still need to be approved - I must have info 'in hand' before I will do that (if CRAPS has approved your stuff, I'll take it! - really!) - Finally, no, I don't giggle when you poke my belly :P</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Operations</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">We have this neat little 'Judge Stats' page that DA James made a while ago. It takes all of the tasks of the ACC staff and adds a value to them, whereby the staff gets 'points' for the things they do - i.e. opening battles, judging battles etc. There is also a series of pie charts that give a graphic representation of the tasks as well as an overall depiction. Anyway, two days ago was the first time that I have ever seen 'something' done by every staff member - meaning, they all have points and a piece of the pie - I was very pleased. So, give it up for the staff... they work hard for you guys!</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">The ACC Staff gives a rowdy HOORAH! to Dark Sabre for his promotion to Epis, well deserved!!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">The Stat reformation is on pause (as well as ALL major Compendium updates) - sorry to those who were expectin'em. I felt that it would be too useless to spend all of the time on it and then have to do it again when/if anything changes for rebirth. We'll just have to run 'as is' for a bit longer.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">- CHL is still in the Semi-Finals</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">- PCHL is in the second round </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">- A new Co-Op event is getting built, release date pending</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">In the near future, the ACC will see a slight policy shift. It was kicked into my head (unknowingly) by a fellow DB'er cough Muz cough who typed a single phrase that made me remember why I started in the ACC - 'combat writing'. The stats are good, weapons are good... but the writing is the reason behind all of it. I am not saying that stats will no longer play a role, or that stuff is going to be allowed that was previously banned or restricted - but the staff has been instructed to look closer at the writing of battles; the way they read and how well the story is presented - BEFORE - they go stat-hunting. The whole point of the stats, in the first place, was to give you (the writer) a framework to write in - which we immediately noticed wasn't being done, by the vast majority - slowly, the statistics started guiding our hand because they play such a vital role in realism - well, that and it was opened to the 'other' orders :P Seriously though, this will come by way of our actions; not a new chapter to the Compendium, new rules or more garbage for you to read - heck, some might not notice it at all, but it'll be there.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Did you know?</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Did you know that you STILL cannot use Clan Powers in the ACC? Yep, it's been that way for a long time and there have been a few exceptions (pre-approved battles, Clan competitions etc.), but that's the general guidance. They [Force Powers] are not firmly laid out by all of the Clans yet (and I'm sure 'they' noticed that the powers of some Clans contradict the DSC :P but maybe that's okay... shrug) so, to allow some Clans the use of theirs and other Clans, nothing - well, that's just stupid. Once all of the Clans have all of their powers approved and whatnot, and when all of the powers are collected into the places where everyone can see them - I'm sure the ACC's policy will change - that was the goal way-back-when, anyway. </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Before I go...</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Not much this week, an APP tossed a stick at me so I threw a boulder on him - Halcyon doesn't like fart humor - the KHP called me a 'softee' grrr - and Nekura seemed to have placed his head under my butt, yep... all in all the week was fairly un-eventful :)</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Have a great weekend!</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>

Halc doesn't like fart humour? Now that is shocking.

/me quotes DSC:

Elders - Dark Jedi Primarch (DJP), Dark Jedi Master (DJM), Dark Side Adept (DA) - Force Inhibition, Feed on the Dark Side, Object Translocation, Mental Translocation, Conduit, Telekinetic Kill, Force Lightning, Brainwash, Rage, Blackness, Doppelganger

Doesn't that mean a DA can use Lightning as well? Or am I missing something? :P

Another thing - slightly off-topic - : Any idea why the DSC ranks page and the database speak of "Dark Prophet" while the Powers of the Dark Jedi page speaks of "Dark Jedi Primarch"?

yea, yea, yea... you're right James. My point was more made with the APP's who were trying to use it :) good catch - and I have no idea what to make of the second question, I'm just a KPN :)

Probably because not all the pages were updated. It used to be Dark Jedi Primarch, but one of the Obelisk ranks is Primarch, so we use Dark Prophet. Something along those lines. Of course, I don't even know if that rank is used anyways... :P
