I have been watching the Training Annex, as well as running Initiates myself, and I must say, a lot of your heartache can be spared if you just pay attention. In training battles, there will be comments at the top of the battle after each of your posts - failing to heed the comments posted by your trainer makes your time with them pointless. In addition, the staff member you are training with will write their posts as examples of how posts should go - if you find that your posts are not comparable to those of your trainer - you're doing something wrong. Qualification is exactly the same, without the comments - you can learn a lot simply by paying attention to how the staff member is writing. Qualification is personal to each of the staffers, and they all handle their battles with a different mentality. For example, an Operator may write their character inflicting as much physical damage as they can. The point of that is to see how you write from it - not to show you how bad ass they are :P Others may indulge the actions of your character for you - in an attempt to show you how to go about doing what needs to be done. Anyway, the Training Annex and Proving Grounds are your chance to get as much info as you can, simply by participating to the best of your ability - don't waste it - your first few battles are not the time to realize that you should have taken advantage of training.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Just as a heads up - some trainees have been deemed worthy to be made an example of :P In the coming weeks, I will be posting some stuff on the Forum relating to common problems and the fixes to them, as far as battles are concerned. I'll try and steer clear of using actual names, but the things we will discuss will be direct quotes from ACC battles. </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">I am returning to the subject of 'Clan Halls' again. There are a few Clans that have approached me for Clan-level comps and I think there may be a need for Clan Halls to facilitate that sort of thing. _See? This would have been easier if each Clan had a rep in the ACC, but no one wanted to play nice :P _ I am thinking that Clan comps usually want to award crescents and stuff, so the Halls would be bereft of ACC win/loss points, which would allow you to do that unhindered by the possibility of the appearance of 'dual awarding'. Anyway, I'm just 'thinking about it', if there's any input from Clan Summits, I wouldn't mind hearing it.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Operations</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">I am in the process of writing the new compendium for post-rebirth, which I hope will include all the adaptations to the centre. This is the time, if you have any ideas, to contact me with your thoughts. I am trying VERY hard to make this one as simple as possible - even more so than the changes I made with the current one. I am getting rid of needless information, and trimming the fat of the redundant stuff - i.e. with the addition of the kick-ass sabre guide to the DJB, the ACC's version will be trimmed down to mere explanations based off of the new volume. There will also be a compiling of stuff that I have learned in my time as CM, regularly occurring problems that will be addressed. Furthermore, I'm going to try and get some 'examples' in there - I realize that there's a lot of 'this is what this is' stuff, but no real examples of how to go about using it - like the Force Powers.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">CHL is in the Finals. Right now, I am SPECIFICALLY looking for ACCLive! administrators.</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Did you know?</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Did you know that the ONLY time you can use a weapon with "0" skill points is in the Jester's Keep? The general guideline is that you can't use a weapon with "0" skill points, which I know defies logic because a person can pick up a gun, have absolutely no skill, and still be able to fire it - but that's how it goes. Our justification for that is a character with "0" skill points just wouldn't even think of using the weapon to begin with, but that doesn't hold a lot of water, I know. The purpose of the restriction is to get you to define your character and to set the guidelines for your writing - if you haven't noticed, a key 'trick' to the ACC is to force you to write in a specific framework - it makes better writers, that's an undeniable fact - but all that junk goes out the window (pretty much) in the Jester's Keep. So, unleash your 'Dual Ended Toothpick of Pain and Damnation' with confidence in the Hall where the laughs keep comin' :P</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="84%" bgcolor="#FF6600">Before I go...</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FF9933"> </td> <td width="4%" bgcolor="#FFCC00"> </td> <td width="3%" bgcolor="#FFFF00"> </td> <td width="2%" bgcolor="#FFFF66"> </td> <td width="1%" bgcolor="#FFFF99"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Rebirth this and Rebirth that... frustrating, I know - but it will be worth it!!! </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6">Have a great weekend!</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="6"> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>
