Losing a good man to RL...

Gents and Gentiles,

There are a great deal of people in this organization who do a lot of good for us, and there are a number of people who do a lot great things for us. There are certain times though that you get one or two extraordinary members who consistently drive up the standards, always keep themselves in the highest regard, and innovate in ways that push this club to the next level.

Recently we have lost one such member to Real Life. HeadMaster Pyralis has decided to step down so he can concentrate on that which is important.

This saddens me. Pyralis is one of the best HeadMaster's I've seen, adding in bright innovations and always lending a helping hand to the new members. His Dark Fury project has increased the percentage of people who pass both stages of the Shadow Academy and his training of others has helped the DB survive the struggles of the split.

However, I will miss Pyralis for more than that. He was always one to offer advice to FF and I, and was always there to keep us moving in the right direction. Most of all, Pyralis was becoming a good friend; someone that I could talk to, and someone that I was going to meet up with IRL.

You will be missed, Pyralis. More than you know.

I know it means little upon retirement, but it is one of the few ways that appreciation can be shown. SWL Pyralis is hereby elevated to the rank of Dark Adept. May the Dark Side plague your soul forever.

Leave comments here to show Pyralis what he has meant to us.

What should I say...

this is almost as hard as speaking on a funeral because Pyralis was truly a friend and mentor to me. I've held Magistrate and Prateor positions before under Arania, Voranyen and Mairin as well as being a Quaestor, but under no leader have I ever felt so unconditionally trusted.

Working with Pyralis was working with someone who had a vision. A vision of something much greater than the Brotherhood is, but yet achievable. He was always at least one, if not two steps ahead of things and yet completely anchored in the present and never forgot anything. When I worked under Pyralis, I was pretty sure to have seen the next (or maybe second next) Grand Master. It hasn't come to pass, but I'll always remember him as one of the Brotherhood's greatest and his parting promotion to Adept was more than deserved.

Pyralis, we'll all miss you. I'll try to conserve your heritage, vision and wisdom in the Shadow Academy to come, but it won't ever be possible to completely fill the hole you left.

Thanks for your trust, your encouragement, your kind words and, probably more than everything: Yourself.

Goodbye and let's not let it be farewell.

Kaiann.

=(

Since you had informed me it was to happen I did expect this, but some how I hoped it would not occur. You have been, quite possibly, the most innovate Headmaster the Dark Brotherhood has seen. I think its clear already just how effective Dark Fury is and will be in the future.

You'll be sorely missed, Pyralis, but I understand the pressures of real life. Real life came between the Dark Brotherhood and me years ago when I left Clan Taldryan. While part of me wishes I had not done so, I realize that it was the best decision I could make for myself.

I wish you luck in whatever you decide now to persue, but know always that the Brotherhood will have a home for you. :)

Thank you again for all you've done!

It makes me very, very sad to see you go, Pyralis. You were an amazing person to work with, and between us, we started great things with the Shadow Academy. You really did carry it - better than I expected, to say the least.

You were always deserving of my utter and complete trust, and I'm glad I chose you as my Praetor back in the day. I don't know how I could have not, but it was definitely the right choice.

I hope you have a good time, wherever life takes you. Don't be a stranger - it would be a shame. :)

During my time around here (EH/DB) I came to know many people. Only very few of those I ever called friend. and with few I mean countable on the fingers of one hand. Pyr is one of these friends. I guess this says it all...
Sorry to see you go Pyr. Hope you stay in touch.

Pyralis, we don't know each other as well as I would have liked, but from what I've seena nd heard you are a fantastic member who I hope returns sooner rather than later. Someone of your skill will always be needed ina club such as our own, and I'm sure Kaiann will take you in the future...well...unless he fears for the safety of his job!!! :P

Good luck with everything and take care.

May the Darkness guide you.....

Because it's only been about a month since I graduated from the SA, the memory of the experience is still fresh in my mind. Pyralis, you made the experience a positive one. I believe it was very important that my first experiences with the DB went so smoothly, and I think I have you to thank for that. Good luck in all your endeavors, and know that you will be missed in the DB!
