Herald Report

If you have Star Wars news to report, drop me a line.

  • Site Reconstruction

Working on so much... New request forms, new images, some changes to the layout...

SWGN Staff has their assignments, and the site's nearly ready for them to start filling it

up.

  • Warbanners Currently there are over 220 GoA images to replace before we can start on new requests - however - we have a system by which we are going to hammer

out all of those. We will be in contact with current GoA holders on updating to the new Standard.

Contact on replacement has a system too. We're trying to go from the most difficult (in terms of available custom features) to the least difficult, meaning

from the Elders down.

  • Custom Lightsabers

Nothing New yet.

Deleted SITH Scene Revealed

Lucasfilm fan relations guru Steve Sansweet brought his Star Wars media show to Chicago this week, which included one of the half-dozen or so deleted scenes

from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith that will be included on the DVD coming November 1. The scene takes place in Senator Bail Organa's office. It is a meeting led by Bail and involves five other senators, including Mon Mothma

and Padme Amidala, as they discuss the goings on in the Senate. Sansweet referred to it as the 'birth of the rebellion' scene.

Sad Farewell For Katie

On August 8th 2005, Katie lost her battle with cancer. The 501st founder Albin Johnson's

daughter has been undergoing treatments for months in hopes of irradicating an unoperable tumor on her brainstem. She was seven years old.

Katie's story touched thousands of hearts and rallied support from countless generous people, including George Lucas.

You made it to the end! Congrats. I did too.

This week has been filled with e-mail. Questions on the Warbanners, proposals on procedures, general concerns on issues I don't really cover... I've answered

some, deleted others (mostly blank ones - very strange), and ignored a few more. I've caught up with people on IRC to discuss their messages, and I've even

logged into Dessan's TeamSpeak server. It's been a busy "paperwork" week.

I'm looking forward to getting the Warbanners done - only about a dozen done so far.

Hey, for reading this far you get a special treat... Little Known Star Wars Fact #59: Why do Ewoks wear clothing? When Lucasfilm did the first screen

test of the Ewok costumes, the seams were visible. Rather than redesign the costumes, the Ewoks donned hoods and vests.

Besides - it means you see less of them.

eww, Ewok genitalia
