HOUSE LUDO KRESSH WEEKLY REPORT AUGUST 31ST, 2005

<table border cols="1" width="100%" bgcolor="blue"> <tr> <td>INTRODUCTION</td> </tr> </table>

“You will be tried by a jury of your peers.”

The judges say this before arranging felony proceedings while the District Attorney prepares to paint you with words like a

Steadman caricature. While your public defender gets wasted on Keystone Light in his crappy apartment, some court clerk mails

the party invitations: brief and vaguely comprehensible notices that you, the lucky bearer, have been chosen to help decide

the fate of some poor bastard who zigged when he should have zagged. Enter my predicament:

Jury duty.

It seems that I, a humble quaestor of House Ludo Kressh, lover of fine literature and coarse photography, am qualified to sit

in someone else's puddle of cold sweat on a vinyl chair, in some courtroom while watching a raw episode of Judge Judy unfold.

Yeah. I can smell the pseudo-Latin banter already - it's punctuated by the rotten stench from some meth mouth on the stand.

Or the bile from the prosecution. Or the defense. Or both.

Somewhere in that Congolese tunnel of bullsh*t are diamonds of pure truth, and they want me - imagine that, me! - to find

them...and then find in favor of one party. I'll be a voice - one of twelve - deciding whodunit, and it's probably not

Colonel Mustard in the Study with the Pipe this time. I always lost at Clue, and they want me in court?

Some poor sucker's fate could be in the hands of Bob, resident drunk.

Heads he's guilty, tails he's not innocent,

#003 - Changing Orders

From the main DB news page

Seriously, if you're thinking about changing Orders, read this. Since the time that the Brotherhood split from our alliance

with the Emperor's Hammer, the way we think, and act has been undergoing changes. Previously, each Order was "restricted" to

participating in a certain way; that is, Sith were pilots, Obelisk were ground-pounders, Krath were writers. Or, Sith (TIE,

XvT, XWA), Obelisk (JK, JO, JA), Krath (writing). This no longer applies and strictly. Some people adhere to this, others do

not. Those who adhere to this do so of their own accord; you do not have to have flight games to be Sith, write to be Krath,

etc.

There are those who would prefer to return to this mode of action. Sime people believe that it is easier, and makes more

sense to have the DB with "Order Restrictions." As the DB has evolved, Orders have meant different things. I know several

people who were here back before there were Clans, or even Houses before them. Some of these people remember when Sith were

members who had memberships in both the Brotherhood and the Emperor's Hammer; the Krath were the members who were simply

"DB-exclusive."

The point of all this is, the DB is still undergoing changes, both structurally and cosmetically. So many people still see

references to the Sith needing to have flying games, and don't want to be "pilots." I still see Order change requests of

people wanting to "Play Jedi [whatever]," and "don't want to be a pilot, or write about that." No matter how many times I've

said this, or tried to respond to these kinds of transfer requests, I still see them. I'd ask for people, especially Envoys,

and those whose job it is to familiarize members with how we do stuff, to inform people of this.

Honestly, I can't get to every member, and say, "Hey, guess what. This is how it is." So, again, especially to the Envoys who

help new members adjust, and to leaders in general, a little help? Thanks much.

#004 - Code of Conduct

Due to current IRC behavior issues, the following rules are hereby enacted. All Channel Operators should read, and enforce

the following rules. Violations are subject to being kicked. Three violations shall result in a ban. Pushing the envelope,

severe violations, and other related incidents will result in a ban.

** 1.) Curse-words. The "F-bomb" is a no-no. This room is PG. the F-bomb is not. Neither is the c-word. **

2.) Discussing illegal and distasteful crap. Baby-f'ing is not legal or tasteful. Anything you type that can make someone's

stomach turn qualifies. Anything your mother wouldn't want to hear you say qualifies. Don't do it.

3.) Drama. Drama is defined as an episode that is turbulent or highly emotional. Turbulent is the key word here. When your

drama starts causing havoc in the channel, it becomes wrong.

Behave people.

This week brought the end of the latest chapter of the Pimp and Drunk Show. Raistlin decided to step down as my second in

command and has gone back to his home of Marka Ragnos. He's always been there when I needed him and he had a large part of

making Ludo Kressh what it is today. Thanks Raistdawgs, we'll miss ya.

Quickly stepping up into his place however, as you all know, is Knight Macron Mandalore Goura. A younger member who has

quickly moved up the ranks and earned each and everything he has been rewarded with. I look for great things from him and I

know he will not let Ludo Kressh down.

Anyway, keep up the good work all.

That is all!
