Quaestor Report

Greetings Exar Kun,

I am proud to say this is my third term in office of Quaestor and it has been quite a journey! In my time as Quaestor of House Exar Kun I have seen many changes, I am onto my third Aedile, second Consul and I believe third Proconsul. I have also witnessed the merging of two clans to form Clan Plagueis. I have witnessed great victorys and terrible failures. Still I can honestly say I am exceedingly proud of you all, we have accomplished a great deal in the short time Plagueis has been in existance and certainly our critics are finding less and less to complain about. Well done to you all.

The AWOL check is almost at an end. I have emailed each member personally who has failed to respond to my emails. Come Monday I shall emailing a list of members who have failed to respond to my personal hails. I am proud to say that responces continue to come in, and though in some cases I am having to beat a responce from some of our members, the responce has been encouraging. If you have had an email from me asking for you to personally respond, please do so.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that our Proconsul is away during September. Naturally during his absence you can direct your enquiries through to Lucien. Of course my door is also open and my email turnaround is pretty good. With the exception of the last few days. I have been unwell and confined to bed, but I am almost 100% again...almost. Anyway on to the report.

More of a repeat from last weeks report, I am looking to build a new web site for our House, just an extension on what already exists on the Plagueis and Dark Brotherhood web site. It would be nice to set out a unique identity for Exar Kun, we are afterall living in the shadow of possibly the greatest Dark Jedi in all of galactic history. We have the best mentor in ANY House or even Clan of the entire Brotherhood. It would be FANTASTIC to capatilise on this. So any writers, graphics, fictionalisers and web people drop me a line. Rest assured you will be richley rewarded for your contributions.

You can contact me at: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Almost done now, I have contacted the last remaining stragglers for a responce or face oblivion in the Rogue roster. Thus far, of all our membership there is only one confirmed removal so far. With only 22 left to hear from, then we should be left with a much more flexible and active membership. If any of you have not responded to my personal email, please do so. Otherwise you will miss my exceptionally dull reports, and none of us want that to happen!

Man of the month, Rydack himself has begun the process of learning at College. If you need to get hold of him I suggest an email and a degree of patience. He's going to be exceedingly busy whilst he settles in to College life. We wish him well and suggest he steers clear of fast wine and women, admittedly my greatest failing! :P</span>

<span class="style9">Lord Esca on LoA (on his hols)!</span>

Our Proconsul shall be away during this month, he may of course pop online occasionally but for all intensive purposes he is, I suspect, sunning it up on some luxery planet with Twileek dancers dealing with his every want and need. Suffice to say we all hate him :P We shall see him return in October, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Curse his dark and twisted soul!

<span class="style19"><span class="style6">Godo Nurok - Vacation Looking Doubtful!</span>

Next week, beginning 10th September it was planned for me to go down south for a well earned rest. In light of my wife achieving career success (more on that a bit later) that is now looking doubtful. IF I do end up going away, it will only be for a few days. In the event it does happen I shall email you all to let you know.</span>

Our new Aedile has now been appointed, Schisca. Previously BTL or Battle Team Leader of Exars Shadow. Whilst he settles in, here is the list of successes from you, the members! Great work!

Pretty slow week, BUT there are quite a few awards in the pipeline that I have still to process, so expect much more appearing in my report next week! *For those of you who want to earn themselves a tidy sum of Medals and Promotions, look a bit further into my report! *

One of the great things about the Dark Brotherhood are the opportunities presented to us, oppertunities to earn rewards which in truth mean almost nothing in RL (Real Life) but does mean a lot to those in this organisation. In the up and coming Project Rebirth these rewards will take on a whole new meaning, with additional incentives. Those not in the know I suggestion you follow this link for a preview for the some of the things you could get yourself: http://gm.darkjedibrotherhood.com/awakening.html

Some of you may be feeling a little confused and lost, not only about what to do but also how to earn yourself a bag load of goodies. Of course a couple of methods may involve killing off your opponents or even bribery. But there are much easier ways to earn yourself some medals or as we call them 'shinys'.

Shadow Academy Courses are an excellent starting point, always teaching you new things. Pass enough of them and you could find yourself being promoted automatically. To try your hand at some courses follow this link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/shadowacademy/sa/index.html

This if fine to a point of course, promotion up to Protector is quite common place, and you do get course completions proudly displayed on your Dossier on the Dark Brotherhood web site. But if you want some medals and real promotions you need to dig deeper. For example if you want to earn yourself some Medals then competitions are the way forward. Towards the end of this report are a current list of competitions you can take part in, or for a full list of whats going on follow this link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp

There is also a weekly gaming night, or I should say nights. Tuesdays, Thurdays and if your lucky Saturdays. This is a chance to rack up your Cluster of Fires. http://icte.starwarsalliance.com/

Always keep an eagle eye out for any specials events or competitions. A good place to look is the Dark Brotherhood web site. Check at least once a week to make sure you dont miss out on anything special. You could for instance get the chance to win your own personal Fighter or Vehicle or even a specialist piece of equipment! Skies the limit!

As a general bit of advice look out for a Master to help train you. If you don't have one talk to your Envoy or failing that your Aedile or even Quaestor. Masters are an excellent source of advice, help and trials to ensure your continued success to Knighthood! Finally I would strongly recommend you become familiar with something called the Compendium. It's an excellent source of information. You can learn about the many rewards on offer, ranks, history, anything. Here's the link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/dsc/index.html

Well I haven't been too well lately, a combination of too much good living and my wife trying to poison me. It's turning into a bit of a game now. First she tried the old 'Red Apple' poisoning then she tried with rice. To her credit she keeps trying! :P

Speaking of which I am happy to report she now works for a big city newspaper, the Birmingham Post. She is now a member of the press (Proof Reader)! Hurrah! Of course getting the job was a little less smoother than she anticipated. She swore me to secrecy but being she has now got the job, all bets are off! First she managed to wear her top to the interview back to front, an achievement you will all agree. Then she managed to barge past an disabled person waiting to enter the building and then she topped off her day by leaving the premises with her security tags still attached. After such an interesting 'impression' they still felt inclined on giving her the job! Plenty of Kudos to the wife on this startling achievement!

As hinted at in my earlier reports she (the wife) is still cooking everything from scratch. Fresh incrediants all the way, down side being long waits for something to eat and upside being I am actually losing weight!? Despite the almost toxic amounts of butter and cream she uses. Now she has turned her all consuming gaze upon home baking, complete with apron and rolling pin! She has managed to cook up a Cheese Cake, Lemon Drizzle Cake, some Toffee and rice crispie hybrids and some Flap Jacks. Perhaps this is another subtle form of poising? Death by VERY fattening foods? Needless to say I am very happy with this turn around, as it means I am eating some very good food!

Our US counterparts...which is basically every reader of my reports :P Are slipping into the British news at the moment...well not all of you, Hurricane Katrina has hit New Orleans. Curiously there were some british over there when it hit. I have seen some Satellite pictures of the city and it doesn't look very encouraging. Naturally my sympathies to any and all affected by it. The BBC, our primary source of news over hear decided they would highlight the cities plight with a feature on all the music created as a result of a major flooding, which mainly includes Blues and Jazz songs. An odd choice, but the songs seemed appropriate. Most popular being 'Black Water Blues'. This country is a bit lucky in the weather stakes. The biggest hurricanes we get in this country tend to be large enough to shift a pile of leaves...if your lucky.

Actually thats not entirely true, only a month or two ago a surprise Hurricane ripped through Birmingham City, relocating trees and house roofs. Thankfully no one was hurt and the damage was slight, relatively speaking. Great Britain has always had odd weather, which is why we british forever go on about it, but its destruction has been kept limited. Question is, is it getting worse? Up until my late teenage years, weather that blocked so much as one road was all over the news bulletins. Now its common news for roads to either flooded, snowed under or too icey to travel by. Even I had first time experience. Three years ago we had a freak weather spell which left most of our road network crippled.

At the time I had no idea, and drove home as usual. It soon became apparent that the road were thick with ice. That Ice Skates or snowmobiles were the order of the day. Not trainers and poorly prepared cars! I managed to get home, but encountered trouble. A policewomen was stuck in the middle of the road, I got out my car along with some others to help her up the road. It was cold, dark and INCREDIBLY icey. I slipped and broke my elbow. Yet, like the idiot I was, I kept helping other motorists up the road. I even managed to comically slip twice more before I returned to my car. Thats when I realised my arm was hurting, hurting bad! :(

So, I drove home in icey condition with the use of one arm. For our American counterparts all our cars are Manuals, not Automatics. So driving home was challanging to say the least!

Specifics: Members of the Brotherhood have a nasty habit of disappearing or vanishing whenever it pleases them. Some show up after a matter of time or are reported as missing in action. Most of these M.I.A.’s are not worth the interest of higher placed members. So it is quite rare and exceptional if higher placed members start an investigation on the whereabouts of a missing member.

Gaidal Dupar is missing. He was on a secret mission with a fellowship to Korriban. The man who gave him the order was none else than his master, Godo Nurok. Gaidal was supposed to find information about Darth Revan and in case he would find a relic, return it to his master. He should have been back by now, but his shuttle ‘Dark Phoenix’ hasn’t been checking in yet. The last contact anyone had with the missing Guardian, was Godo Nurok, who wanted to know if the mission was a success. No sign of Dupar was detected ever since he left Korriban. It seemed like he vanished in thin air.

But someone found a clue in the shadows. DC member Korras went to the Library of Clan Plagueis to find a certain book about Krath magic when he saw a small trace of blood on the chair Gaidal Dupar used to sit in. A part of the chair was cut off by a lightsaber, according to the burnt marks. Korras investigated the crime scene more closely and found the Rayal Guard helmet of the young Guardian with his red cloak under the chair and table. It looked like he was reading a book when he was attacked by surprise. All the books were destroyed in the fight and so the table looked like a mess.

Korras was shocked by his findings and brought the tragic news, that the proud and promising was overwhelmed by a sneak attack from behind, to Godo Nurok personally. Nurok was furious by the act of treason that caused him to lose his precious pupil. Godo assembled a small investigation team of three people that had full jurisdiction to investigate the library on Byfrost and take samples from the crime scene. This team from Clan Plagueis had to find Dupar because of the knowledge he gathered on Korriban.

Meanwhile Korras left Byfrost and was on his way back to Antei with his vessel ‘Vaevictis’. He was worried with these developments and could not figure out by himself why someone would harm Gaidal. Korras decided to form an investigation team as well, but this had to be unofficial. It fell under the jurisdiction of the Dark Council, but remained unknown to Godo and the first team. The order Korras gave them was quite the same though: find information about the whereabouts of ‘his dearest friend’ Gaidal Dupar. Three other members from Plagueis were assigned and mobilised to search for clues on Korriban, because the DC member already took samples from the original crime scene. The second team needed to reconstruct the journey of Dupar back to Byfrost.

A lot of questions came up in the process. What happened to Gaidal Dupar? Why did someone harm him? Where is he now? And what kind of information did he have with him? The teams needed to find answers and reasonable explanations.

Another busy week, which has seen more changes, Schisca as our new Aedile, Starret as our new Battle Team Leader and of course the return of Warhunter. I just want to take the oppertunity to remind you all that this is a club, be it a large and complex one. We are all here to have fun, not club others to death. This is a fun community with a wide and diverse population. RL or Real Life always comes first, just remember to treat other members with respect and good manners. As my old teacher use to say "Manners maketh man". Though a bit tright in this day and age, it's still true.

Your Servant,

Godo Nurok
