Quaestor Report

<div align="center"><font size="2">12th November 2005</font></div>

Greetings Exar Kun,

It seems only yesterday that I was handing in my resignation for November, but life has a funny way of changing things around. It is fast approaching mid November and I have already left and rejoined. In light of recent difficulties I decided to return and more than eagerly put my name forward when it became clear things weren't working out. Again I offer my apologies for the trouble this house has experienced over the last month or so and hopefully I can get things back on track.

Blade has an amazing amount of experience and he does command a lot of respect around the Dark Brotherhood. I only hope that he continues to be a very active and positive force within not just Clan Plagueis but the organisation as a whole. Schisca has also stepped down. I would like to extend my personal appreciation for his work: I think he has probably been one of our longest serving Aediles to date since this new clan was formed and it would be nice to see his amazing activity levels and house participation duely rewarded.

Finally, let me also add that I am open to both ideas and critique. Any emails I receive tend to have extremely fast turnarounds, so please feel free to contact me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses].

So, who will be our new Aedile? I didn't especially want to move too many of our incredible members around too much, so after speaking with Lucien and speaking to some of the membership I found the same name kept cropping up. I am pleased to announce the newest edition to the team is Gaidal Dupar: A highly active and motivated member of House Exar Kun who I look forward to working and training with. He will be assuming full Aedile duties next weekend as he's just finishing up some RL (real life) commitments ;)

The Plagueis Chronicle, issue 1 has received an amazing response. I would like to take a moment to thank the staff of the newspaper and all contributors. Without their hard work and dedication it could not have been a success. I know that some awards are being arranged for their work which I am hoping will be awarded sooner rather than later. Those of you who've not read this little bit of history can view it here:http://www.clanplagueis.net/paperindex.html.

Of course, issue 2 of the Plagueis Chronicle is already being worked on now and I have already received some welcome contributions. To get your articles, graphics or even sounds in the paper you don't need to be a member of the team. Simply drop me a copy of the file to my email address: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. The deadline is November 25th, with the second issue being released on November 30th.

I won't spoil any surprises but we have some returning articles and even a serialisation in response to some amazing feedback. And I promise we will be using Lucien's much better layout ;)

There's quite a bit going on at the moment which you are all welcome to take part in. The best advice I can offer is to read all competitions very carefully to see which events you can take part in. If in doubt, contact the competition organiser. A good place to keep an eye on all competitions, both running and due, is here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp.

*Title: Mission Impossible 2 *

Requested By: DJM Arania Lawakiro Palpatine

Specifics: A scout ship on a joint mission of the 3 Clans has been lost over a seemingly unpopulated world. From the call for help - which wasn't very specific other than that they had to leave their ship - we know there were many shuttles and evac pods on their way down to the surface at the point of the call. The locations of the landings have been found and members of the Clans are sent to rescue the stranded. Of course, it is never that easy... ACC team missions. Asides from the intro post (locations will be picked by me), each team's members will get stuff to work into their writings. The results will be judged on a post-by-post basis point system. It is up to the writers how long they want their battles to be, but everyone can only have one battle at a time. Finished battles will give a point bonus. Once writers are finished with one battle, they are free to proceed to the next, with the same team member or someone else. Most points win, logically.

Start Date: 10th October 2005

End Date: 15th November 2005

Unit in Competition: Clan Scholae Palatinae Clan Naga Sadow, Clan Plagueis

This section of my report I missed, whilst I was battling the evil horde known as customers in RL (real life). I found it a therapeutical experience as it gave me a chance to vent. Of course, this was of little use to you lot but I think it provided some degree of occasionally startled entertainment. I have, of course, returned: not only have I come back to the Brotherhood and Clan Plagueis but also returned to the post of Quaestor. Of course, none of this could have been possible had it not been for a new member of staff at work. Obviously I can't divulge names, but she happens to be a young, reasonably attractive blonde who, I am reliably informed, is single. Now, my wife is not exactly enamoured with this for some odd reason (answers on a postcard).

Though I would like to add for the record that I wasn't responsible for this appointment. It was the managing director who was presented with a simple choice. He could have hired one of two women, one happened to be in her mid forties with more experience than possibly the combined work staff; the other happened to be the young blonde who, I must add, had no experience whatsoever. Now call me a cynical man but I would suspect it wasn't good business practice that influenced his decision :P

To none UKers November the 5th will probably mean almost nothing to you. Unless it's your birthday or some such. But this date holds a special place for us. This is the date that we suffered a terrorist attack. Or at least an attempt. Puzzled? I confess my knowledge of history is a bit hazy but basically a fellow called Guy Fawkes and a group of like-minded men decided, for a laugh, they would blow up Parliament. They decided that office hours would be a great time to strike, killing all the members of the government. And, not willing to do things by halves, decided to plan said strike when the king would be around. An incredibly bold move, I think you will agree, and no this isnt a plan by 'Fathers for Justice': this little event happened hundreds of years ago.

Of course, to accomplish this diabolical plan they needed help. Alas, Osama Bin Laden wasnt even a gleam in his father's eye, and at that time Islamic extremists weren't available for rent. So they decided to do the job themselves with the aid of barrel after barrel of gunpowder. The plan was simple: pack enough gunpowder under parliament to create an explosion seen from space! You would, of course, assume that a group of men carting such vast numbers of barrels filled with explosives into parliament would arouse at least a passing suspicion. But apparently not.

The plan seemed fool-proof. Only it wasn't. I don't know if the government caught one of them but the plot was uncovered. The men responible were rounded up, including Guy Fawkes himself. And in true English tradition they were tortured then executed. We then made it a day of celebration and each year we let off fireworks, cheer around a bonfire and give children rods of hot iron (also known as sparklers).

The upshot is that countless people lose their lives each year or are in some way maimed. Funny country this, we ban guns and any type of explosives and yet each year we hand out colourful explosive bombs to children. Oh and those sparklers I mentioned? Hot enough to give anyone, let alone children, very severe burns.

Well that's it for this report, what I hope will be the first of many. Don't forget that I am always open for dialogue: you can contact me via email or even on mIRC if you happen to see me online. However, please be patient. Though far from superstar status I do get a lot of people wanting to speak to me, but I will ALWAYS get back to you.

There are plenty of things to do, plenty of fun for all to be had. You have the Shadow Academy, competitions, Plagueis Chronicle and even online gaming nights. Speaking of which, if this interests you, here's a link which might be of interest: http://icte.starwarsalliance.com/.

Your Servant,

Godo Nurok
